17. October 2017
"hey! watch where you're going!" you shouted. "look i'm sorry kiddo, but i gotta go. i have a meeting." a man with a black hood that covered half of his face said in a deep voice. you rolled your eyes. "i am not a kid!" you hated that everyone always thought, you were a kid, because of your height. but you weren't a kid. you were born on october 20. in 2002 so you would become 16 in three days. but from his words you could tell, that he wasn't much older than you. that's something, you've always been good at. you always found it easy to read people. everyone you meet is like an open book to you. "sure." now the guy who bumped into you rolled his eyes. "don't be rude. has no one ever told you, that that's impolite?" the guy just groaned and began to walk again. "i hope to never see you again, rude boy!" you shouted after him because you were too lazy to run after him. for that sentence he showed you his middle finger.
ten minutes after the accident you sat down on an empty table in your favorite cafe and ordered some coffee. while waiting until your coffee would get served you scrolled through your phone. after a while your eyes caught a random post on twitter. there was a rumor about the bts leader wanting to change his stage name. you widened your eyes as you read the tweet. army's and their theories, you thought. you were an army too, but not a hardcore one, like those who come up with fan theories and stuff. you were just enjoying their music and watching their videos. you didn't stan many k-pop groups but the few you staned were enough for you.
meanwhile brought a waiter the coffee you ordered to your table and you thanked him. you put your phone away and drank a sip of the coffee. it was amazing as always. that's why this cafe is your favorite. every coffee or hot chocolate you order would taste like heaven. also they have some pastries that were very delicious too.
but today you weren't able to enjoy your coffee as much as always, because your thoughts went back to the incident from earlier. alone the thought of the guy made you a little bit angry. he seemed so rude but also did it seem like he was in a hurry. you kinda wished that you could've talked properly with him, but kinda not. because you would never have to see him again.
you drank the last sip of your coffee and paid. then you went to your school. because your schoolday would start on thursday at 10.30 am you didn't have to hurry and you would always on every thursday go to the cafe and drink something. today you went an hour earlier than normally because you needed new pens and a new folder for your notes. that's why you left your home at 9 am and were at the coffee shop at 9.45 am. you normally would've been there 15 minutes earlier but the incident happened and made you lose time.
you ran the stairs of your school up, panting hard. you didn't want to be late because now you had one of the strict teacher, who doesn't like being late. luckily you made it to class in time. you even were three minutes early. you had gotten everything you needed, but the cashier was unbelievable slow with scanning everything. so you nearly were late for school.
in school you didn't really pay attention to what the teacher were saying. you rather thought about your incident. then you realized. the only thing you've had liked about the rude guy was his voice and probably the hood too, but that doesn't count. you liked that his voice was deeper, not the words he said. even in your breaks you sat thinking about him, when your best friend kim jooah, slammed her hands on your table. "yo hyunjae, why aren't you in the cafeteria and eating with me?" "oh sorry, i just didn't feel like." jooah frowned and said then: "but you never ever in your life skip food." "yeah, i know, i just had something on my mind." jooah sat down in front of you, legs crossed and a expecting facial expression. "spill the tea sis."
then you started explaining everything. you didn't left one single detail out. you explained her even the most little detail.
after you were done she had a shocked expression on her face. "no way!" she gasped. "that was rude!" "yess. right? for a short moment i thought, i had been too harsh, but now i don't regret anything." "you reacted as someone should, that just got offended." "eyo, watcha talkin' 'bout?" your male best friend jaewon entered the class. "oh noth-" "we were talking about that guy, that bumped into our dearest friend hyunjae and didn't even apologize, but was just rude to her." jooah cut you off. "wow, our little one learns how the world works, and certainly the people too." "dude, i'm literally four months older than you. why are you calling me little one? you should call me noona." "well she isn't wrong, but still, your height is the reason he calls you that, not your age unnie." she extra emphasized the word 'unnie'. normally none of your friends calls you noona or unnie, but since you didn't like being called little one, you try to tell them to call you noona or unnie. they mostly call you little, beause they think it's funny, that you're older than them but still smaller than them.
both, jaewon and jooah started arguing about new nicknames for you and you didn't really listen to them, but after a few minutes you couldn't stand it anymore, how they acted, like you weren't there.
"yah, stop now." you raised your voice a little.
both of your friends immediately stopped, because, even though you were smaller than them, they would get scared of you when you raised your voice.
"change the topic, i don't want any other nicknames. in fact, i don't even want a nickname." you complained. "but we wanna annoy you as much as possible." jaewon sassed. i really do have the bestest best friends, you thought sarcastically.
now the bell rang for the next and also last lesson for the day. "hush hush, go to your seats." you demanded.
this lesson was boring, because your teacher was ill, and you had another, so you all did your homework. and you couldn't think too much about the rude hood guy. but sooner or later you were done with your homework and focused again on the mysterious guy. somehow you wanted to meet him again, but you also hoped, you would never have to see him again. after like ten minutes of drowning in your own thoughts the last lesson was over, and you could go home. at your locker you met up with jooah and jaewon, whom you were always walking home.
jooah and jaewon were your best friends probably since you were able to think. you've always done everything together. you shared all your secrets with them and so did they. jooah always had been the sarcastic one, jaewon was the brain because he always thought like five minutes until he started a sentence and you were the short tempered and smallest in the group. you loved those both like they were your non-existent siblings. you were an only child, and because you guys were that close you always saw them as your younger siblings.
the three of you began walking towards your houses. you still deep in your thoughts, the other two in a conversation with eachother. you were only half listening to them. "hyunjae? you there?" you suddenly heard jaewon. "hmm?" you hummed. "let her be, i think she's thinking about the rude guy. i think she's crushing on him, even though she never saw his face." jooah jumped in. you only glanced at her with one of your death stares. "shut up. i'm not crushing on rude boy. it's more like, i'm hating him. and the only nice thing about him was his voice." "uhhh, never knew you had a kink for voices." jaewon chuckled. now he got a death glare. "i don't have a voice kink. i liked the sound of his voice, what he was saying, wasn't so nice. obviously. otherwise i wouldn't have given him the name rude boy." jaewon raised his hands in defense. "we're at your house, you probably should go inside and get some sleep and forget him." jooah said. "yeah, you're right. sleep will help me. like always." you chuckled slightly. "goodbye, see you tomorrow!" you three bid your farewells and you went inside where your mother was waiting for you.
"hey sweetie. how was your day?" your mom asked. "hi eomma. it was great as always. and i luckily don't need to to my homework, because we had a substitute teacher because our teacher was ill or something like that, so we were able to finish our homework." you skipped to the kitchen counter. "but something's bothering you, isn't it?" she wanted to know with a wise smile. "yes, i had an, uhm well, not so good encounter with a boy today." you sighed. your mom kinda was something like a best friend to you. you could always tell her everything. she would always be there for you. "oh no, what happened?" she seemed a little concerned. so you started for the third time to explain what had happened earlier that day. after your monologue your mom gasped dramatically. "that was rude. honey, i think you acted right, even though i don't really appreciate that kind of acting." "but is it not wrong, that i kinda want to meet him again?" your mother giggled a little. "no, i don't think that. you want to see him again, because you like him a little." "ugh. i don't like him. but jooah said that too." "said what?" "that i liked rude boy." you sighed heavy.
"hello, my favorite two women on earth. i missed you both so much." you heard your father calling you both out. at that comment you and your mother broke into a loud laughter. your father always was very cheesy but this time, he was way beyond that line. when you were able to stop laughing you ran towards him and hugged him. "i missed you too." you mumble against his neck. you haven't seen him for like five days because he was on a business trip.
your father runs a big business for cosmetics and stuff like that and was nearly always on business trips, but if you would tell him, you'd need him, he would always immediately cancel his meetings just to spare some time with you.
"welcome home honey." you heard your mothers voice welcoming her husband. you then backed up, that they both could hug too. after some time that felt like an eternity they let go of eachother and kissed. "eww, my innocent eyes." you laughed as you turned away from them. your parents backed away from eachother and laughed with you. "so now that we welcomed you, lets have dinner, i'm actually hungry." you said and as if on command your stomach growled. "yes, let's get something to eat." your parents agreed. "i'll cook something!" you immediately went to the kitchen.
you've always loved cooking and baking since you were a little child. you would always watch your mom and dad when they cooked something so that you could learn from them. when you grew older and they were working more you started to teach yourself how to cook properly on your own. of course sometimes it got burnt, but after a few runs, you were able to cook like a real chef. your parents always called you 'our little chef' because of that. but you liked the idea of becoming a chef and cook in some restaurant or being a baker in a small bakery. and you knew your parents would always support you no matter what you'd do.
after twenty minutes you served your parents and yourself the self-made dinner. "mhhm. it tastes good as it does everytime. excellent hyunjae." your father praised your cooking. you just smiled. "thank you appa. i appreciate that. and i'm glad you're home. eomma really missed you. and i did too."
when you all finished your plates you brought the dishes to the dishwasher and after that you went to your room to get ready for your bed.
"ugh, finally." you mumbled as your back hit the matress of your bed. you immediately closed your eyes and dozed really fast into your sleep.
after all, it had been a rough day.

Day 7 Domingo (Sunday)
And many stores are closed, even my local supermarket!
I woke up early, around 5.30am, and it was still dark. The group fitness timetable starts quite late. The first class during the week is 7.15am with afternoon sessions starting at 5.30 or 6.30pm, and nothing before 9.45 on Sundays. I had Ricardo for Schwinn (the bike brand name) cycling at 10.00am (and @Fiona & @Kelly, I didn't feel comfortable asking for a selfie just yet LOL!). I managed to keep up with his instructions in Portugese, and a smattering of English. I understood "Jody we're now at 70RPM". With 5 minutes to go Ricardo asked me how I was doing, I said "great, but I have no idea what's going on!"
Will or I won't I? Yes I will walk into La Parisienne! Hmm, the croissants didn't look quite like the ones we are spoilt with in Brisbane, so I opt for a chocolate dome thingy not knowing what was inside, ummm marshmallow!
After another shower and second breakfast I headed to the Portimão museum to see the history of sardine canning in the region. They had a small art exhibition in the foyer and later this month they have an exhibition, the Portuguese prison photo project. I think this might be a global project as I'm sure I saw it advertised in another country?
My next mission was to find quality fresh grilled sardines, but I didn't know it's not the season until May. Hopefully the sardines will be in abundance so I can try some before I leave! At a heaving local restaurant, Dona Barca, where the waitress informed me that lunch out on Sundays is a big deal, I waited for a table and could not decide what to have instead of the sardines, I opted for the seafood soup. It came in a small crock pot with a raw egg on top and at the table the waitress folded it in with two spoons. The couple beside me engaged with me at the end of my meal. She's Portuguese, he's American. She moved to NYC when she was 3yo and met him at uni. They have 4 kids and 10 grandchildren and now reside in Coimbra. They said it's only a 6 hour flight home. I didn't have a chance to ask them about their decision to move to Portugal as their entrees arrived and they chose well, a kebab of king prawns and monk fish!
To work off those carbs I decided to head towards Praia da Roche for a walk along the foreshore. It was so refreshing, until it got cold! I was going to see if there was a sunset from a place called Three Castles, but it was too cold. I was determined to not be concerned about drinking alone so bypassing many options I headed into Irish Rovers, as it features a lot in all the FB posts I've signed up for. I headed to the bar to order and the bartender was definitely hitting on me! It was hard to understand exactly what he was saying, Irish accent and music in the background. He asked me how long I was staying and he was rabbiting on about me leaving him in 4 weeks! I ordered a cosmo, as there was no wine by the glass on the menu and I really don't know what he said, but my reply was "I can't be tamed!!".

The "idontwanttogotoschool" chronicles ep.1 :)
Hey....
Wake up...It's an usual school day.
But...what is a usual school day for me?
well....
I wake up at 6:30 a.m. Dutch time with 0 will to live, but i dont have anything better to do so i just wake up.
Next, I take a shower because that may be the only thing keeping me awake for the rest of the day.I take it fast and don't wash my hair, because i'm going out with fucking -4 degrees Celsius outside so wet hair is a big no. And of course, I don't have the patience to blow dry it.
Then I choose my outfit which is the same outfit as the day before (it's always stupid jeans, that are ripped even if as I said it's -4 degrees Celsius outside, a random hoodie, Jordans and my favorite necklace).I always stop with my pants half-way up to stare at my wall thinking "what the actual hell i'm doing with life?". After being called out by my mom for being slow,i finish getting dressed up and i run to get breakfast.
Breakfast: a meal eaten in the morning as the first meal of the day (Shotout to Cambridge). For me, it is simply milk poured into my 30002938-year-old mug, with 5 biscuits inside.Yep, that's my breakfast.
Then I have literally 20 seconds of peace, 'cause between brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, taking asthma meds, and preparing my backpack cuz I was too lazy to do it the night before, it's already 7:40 a.m., as known as the time I leave for school.
So, let's start with the fact that I am indeed lucky. I live in the rural zone of my city, in a building full of immigrants, as I am, in fact, an immigrant myself. But despite that (NOT SAYING THAT IF YOU LIVE IN A RURAL ZONE YOU ARE UNLUCKY OR WTV) , i'm lucky, because almost everyday i go to school by car with one of my parents, and i have access to everything i ask for.Anyways, that not the point. By the time i was talking to you, i arrived at school.
As soon as i arrive i run to the only person i know that arrives earlier than me: Lara. Lara is literally one of the people I see the most at school because, despite her being of a different friend group, she's my deskmate (if such a thing exists lol), so we talk during ALL THE LESSONS. Anyway, as soon as I reach her, she asks for my phone. Ever since I got an iPhone 15 as a gift, my phone became her property. She knows my password, she uses it daily, but that's alright, she's my friend anyway.
Then, there's Matilde. She's been there way more time than Lara. But I don't go up to her. She's older, and her other friends are older too, so I feel embarrassed. But 2 minutes before getting to class, she comes up to me on her own and just starts telling me all the juicy gossip drama or whatever, and I listen to it, not cause I love gossip, but it is because she's my friend. Anyways that's one of my favorite parts of the day, because Matilde is beautiful.
It's 8 a.m right now, and my BORING school day started. It really doesn't matter which subject it is, everything bores me.Thank god i have Lara by my side, Eva and Mathilda behind, and Giorgia in front. I literally chat or draw during the entire lesson and then...
9.45 a.m, it's recess and I go to my chosen friend group of the day, cuz im unstable as fuck haha. I usually steal other people's snacks, even if I have mine (I don't tell them). Then,it's time for other boring lessons and then another break, so i'll skip to the end of the school day.
It's 2 p.m,and from this point, things are pretty different each day
MONDAY
Recapping,i have flute lessons go home at 3.45, gym at 5,00 and then i have my night routine
TUESDAY
Italian extra lessons, home at 4.00 and i'm done.
OTHER DAYS:
i go to this place after school where i lunch, do my homework, or atleast i'm supposed to cause i literally use my phone.
P.S:it's full of nuns
P.P.S: Matilde goes there too :)
Now, it's 7 p.m, and i'm at home having dinner.Sometimes my family isn't at home for dinner,so i have dinner alone with my sister. After dinner i use my phone or read.At 20.30 i'm setted to sleep, but i start overthinking about very random stuff. Then,i fall asleep.
Usually i wake up at 2 a.m for various reasons:
1.I need water more than everything
2.I need to pee
3.I just woke up and now i can't fall back asleep
After this, the cycle restarts, and this goes up 5 days a week.
Well folks of tumblr, this is my usual school day, hope you disliked it as much as i do,se ya next post
bye
Oh right this shit was wrote with Grammarly on a late night with annoying kids at home
Btw I ain't sponsoring Grammarly, it's all paying and no english

[9.45] yeosang × single mom!reader
⇀ being a single mom, you'd obviously be worried about your child's wellbeing. In this case though? Your child's relationship with your boyfriend. But honestly, this is Kang Yeosang we're talking about, what could possibly go wrong?
When you got home that afternoon, the last thing you expected to see was your apartment being so quiet.
You've raised a beautiful baby girl on your own so it's only natural for you to experience chaos every day and ever since little Jueun started kindergarten, her social skills had progressed slightly.
Jueun, the light of your life, is a shy little girl, having only several constant people in her life which made her not so easily open to other people that she had just met. While other children would run off to make friends on the first day of kindergarten, Jueun went straight to the book collection about dinosaurs.
Yes, dinosaurs.
She's a little quirky like that.
Ask her what she wanna be when she grows up, she'll tell you she wants to be a princess with a pet ankylosaurus.
Knowing her introversion, you had hesitated on letting your boyfriend, Yeosang, and her to meet. It's not because you're afraid that they won't like each other or that Jueun would feel that you'd force him as her new daddy, but simply because you're afraid that they won't have anything to talk about.
You initially introduced them to each other when you had been in a relationship with Yeosang for 3 months, before that you had only told both of them stories about the other, buttering them up to like the other.
Not so surprisingly though, Yeosang had told you that he likes Jueun even before meeting her. Which was a relief to say the least. So when they met, Yeosang tried so hard to make Jueun like him. This effort doesn't go unnoticed by the little girl, but she didn't immediately take a liking to him. You've always been there to mediate between the two even though they had known each other for well over half a year now.
Today however, you had no other choice but to ask Yeosang for help picking Jueun up from kindergarten as you were swamped with a project at work.
Yeosang was more than happy to provide aid, but the notion that he'd be alone with the kid whom he doesn't know whether or not she likes him almost made him puke.
But he sucked it up.
He walk up to the gates of the kindergarten, approaching the teacher on standby, "I'm Kang Yeosang, I'm here to pick Jueun (Y/L/N) from class A-3," he said, smiling awkwardly. The teacher smiled brightly at him while nodding, "of course! Ms. (Y/L/N) called in earlier and told us that you'll be picking her up, I'll go get her," then she walked into the building to get Jueun.
Whilst waiting, Yeosang could feel himself sweating a little, nervous about how Jueun would react when seeing him instead of her mom.
When he saw Jueun came out with her backpack strapped on, looking cuter than a bunny with marshmallows stuffed into its cheeks, he smiled brightly at her.
Jueun's eyes wide when she saw Yeosang, having been familiar with him but never really surpasses any significant level with him.
"Hey, Jueun-ie," Yeosang greeted, crouching down to her height. She smiled shyly at him, making his insides clench at the effortless adorableness. "Your mommy need to work a little longer, would it be alright if I take you home?" Honestly, Yeosang didn't know why he asked that in the first place, but knowing that this particular little kid is smarter than most kids her age, he felt like the question was appropriate.
A sudden look of determination appeared on Jueun's face as she nodded eagerly. She knew how important she and Yeosang is to you. Knowing how much you love and provide for her, she's beyond willing to try and let Yeosang in.
Yeosang stood up and was about to walk but Jueun raised her right hand up at him, "safety, mommy said I have to hold her hand at all times, so I should hold yours," she said.
Hearing that, Yeosang smack his forehead dramatically, "ugh! Of course! How bad of me to be so careless!" He said as he grab Jueuen's hand as she giggled at how silly he sounded.
During the walk, Yeosang tried asked her questions about what she did at kindergarten that day. Surprisingly, Jueun blabbered long about what she did, what she ate, who did what, and when was that.
As they walk home, Jueun suddenly stopped her steps in front of the convenience store right outside your apartment. When her steps halt, Yeosang's too.
Yeosang was about to ask her why she stopped walking but Jueun was already looking at him with her best puppy eyes. He crouched down in front of her, "what's wrong Jueun-ie? Why did you stop?" he asked to which Jueun pouted and pointed at the convenience store, "I want ice cream," she said sadly.
Her eyes alone rendered him defenseless. But he was hesitant because he knows that this is not his kid and he doesn't know whether or not you'd let her eat ice cream.
"I don't know, Jueun," he muttered, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. Realizing he's not outwardly saying no, Jueun pulled out the big guns, "pleeeeeease," she whined, wrapping her tiny arms around Yeosang's neck, "please, daddy, please," she pleaded as her pout deepens.
The use of the 'd' word-
No, not THAT 'd' word.
The use of said 'd' word made Yeosang's eyes widen to its maximum extent.
"D-d-did you j-just called m-me..." he trailed off, not really able to said the word himself. Whether or not Jueun realizes how much the word affect Yeosang was unclear, but she definitely knows, based on Yeosang's expression that she's getting what she wants.
"Please, daddy?" she asked one more time.
And true to her prediction, Yeosang scooped her in his arms and walked into the convenience store, letting her pick any ice cream she wants.
Jueun now knows that she has Yeosang in the palm of her hands by simply uttering the word 'daddy' to him.
Which is why as you got home at 7.30, you were greeted with the sight of Yeosang and Jueun in her little tea party table, wearing a tiara and pretending to sip some pretend tea.
Oh, and best part is. Yeosang is also wearing a tiara and a pink feather boa around his neck.
"Wow, you guys seem to be having a lot of fun together," you smirked, breaking their conversation as the little girl jumps up and run to hug your legs.
Yeosang stood up as well, pulling the feather boa from around his neck to set it on the table. He walked closer and peck your lips, "welcome home, love, how was work?" you sighed and shook your head at his question, "disastrous, but I don't wanna talk about it, I wouldn't want to ruin the fun that you're both having right now," you grinned down at Jueun, "how did you manage to get Yeosang to wear a tiara, baby?"
Jueun shook her head excitedly, "I didn't, mommy! Daddy put it himself!" your eyes widened at her choice of pronoun, snapping your head towards Yeosang who had a big, proud grin on his face, "yeah... I guess I'm her daddy now," he chuckled as Jueun decided to run out of the room.
"Yeosang, we never talked about this," you said to him lowly, not really wanting Jueun to hear your worries. Yeosang's grin dropped to a frown as he steps closer to you, taking both of your hands in his, "why? Do you not want her to see me as a father figure?" "It's not that, it's just," you paused, thinking of the right words before continuing, "I don't want her to be attached to someone she considered her dad only for that someone to leave her,"
Hearing that from you made Yeosang realize that it wasn't just you worrying over Jueun, but you're also worrying about yourself too and how it would affect you and Jueun if he leaves.
Smiling gently at you, Yeosang leaned his forehead against yours, "you don't have to worry about me leaving because I'm not gonna, I'm gonna stay with you both until you all get sick of me and kick me to the curb," he joked, making you laugh, "so please, can we celebrate the fact that Jueun called me dad and that I'm moving in with you two?"
You raised an eyebrow at him, "who said you're moving in with us?" "I did, yeah, Jueun's convinced there's an evil sorcerer living in her closet and I promised her that I'll shoo him away every night before bedtime,"
It warms your heart knowing that your two favorite person got along so well. Had you known that leaving them both alone together would end up like this, you would've done it months ago.
You were about to comment on him moving in again when suddenly Jueun's voice was heard from the kitchen, "daddy! I can't- I can't reach the ice cream!"
As soon as you both heard that, you narrowed your eyes at Yeosang, "you bought my kid ice cream?" to which he rolled his eyes at you, "well she's my kid now too," he defended. You couldn't believe that you'd ever hear him say that but hearing that he's Jueun's dad seems so natural to you.
Giggling, you pushed him out of Jueun's room, "well then, please go and handle your daughter,". He blushed slightly as he tried to suppress the grin that was threatening to form on his face. So he opted to ran to Jueun.
But before he could walk too far, you grab his hand to say something.
"By the way, congrats on being a dad,"

Oster-Inn, New Ostermark, that afternoon
Princess Juliet: Oh, I am exhausted! Who would have thought that spending the day shut in a train cart with my sister could be so tiring?
Lady Elisabeth: I do not believe it would be proper for me to comment on that.
Princess Juliet: (laughs) probably not. Will you ask them to make up a bath for me before we change for dinner?
Lady Elisabeth: Of course, Juliet.
Tumblr media
Lady Elisabeth: Before I go... You asked me to make inquiries about the camp in front of town. I was in Stark yesterday, and I spoke to the postmistress, as you asked me to. The wife of Vicar Dunman from St. Michaels was also present, and she also donates her time to the refugee causes.
Princess Juliet: And?
Lady Elisabeth: They explained to me that the people living in that camp are mostly women, many of them lower nobility and their servants. They are not allowed into the city because their husbands were part of the movement within Penningshire that advocated for separation from our Anland. The men went to fight for Escon, and the women and their children were turned out of their homes.
Tumblr media
Princess Juliet: Good Lord... Who turned them out of their homes?
Lady Elisabeth: They did not say, but as I understood it, it was not the local government. Perhaps the people.
Princess Juliet: I see... thank you, Elisabeth. I believe... once we are back home, our task will be to get shelter for these people, especially the children. They cannot stay in those tents.
Lady Elisabeth: Yes, Juliet.
Later that evening
Tumblr media
Princess Juliet: You should not have made all the other guests leave, Alexander. They will not thank you for it.
Prince Alexander: Perhaps not, but I hate when people stare on my plate. I'm not an animal in a menagerie that people can gawk at.
Princess Juliet: No, you're royalty. That's even worse! How is your case going?
Prince Alexander: Schneider?
Tumblr media
Lord Schneider: I believe that once we are back at home, His Royal Highness will have all the material he needs. Surely a good decision can be made.
Princess Juliet: What is the case about?
Lord Schneider: It is a case between the owner of a building and a tenant who runs a barber shop inside. The owner lives above it, and complains about the smells, and wants the tenant to leave. The tenant insists however that they have a binding contract, and he cannot be compelled to leave until the contract runs out.
Princess Juliet: that sounds interesting.
Tumblr media
Princess Valeria: No, it does not.
Prince Alexander: It is interesting though. We hardly ever have cases from the working or middle class, which gives some of our colleagues the idea that our contract law only applies to the upper classes, which means that they hold all the power. But how can a law be a law if it does not apply to all our uncle's citizens the same?
Princess Valeria: I think you misunderstand the term "interesting".
Tumblr media
Princess Juliet: I do find it interesting. Our laws provide many instances where they do not apply to citizens equally.
Lady Lilian: How do you know that?
Princess Juliet: I am a female. Men have many rights that I do not hold. Alexander for example is a prince of the realm, but he made the choice to still work as a judge. I have no right to work as a princess or a lady, and neither do married commoners. No woman is allowed to be on her own, all of us need a man to make decisions for us. A woman would not be allowed to even sign a contract like the one you are describing.
Prince Alexander: ... Huh. Schneider, I believe we need a different basis for the ruling.
Lord Schneider: Yes, Your Royal Highness.
Tumblr media
Lady Lilian: Perhaps you should let Juliet help you write your decision, Alexander.
Princess Juliet: Only if he pays me. (laughs)
Lady Lilian: When will we leave in the morning?
Lady Elisabeth: Our train leaves at 10.25. I have ordered the carriages for 9.45.
Lady Lilian: I see. I must remember to bring a book this time.
Tumblr media
Princess Valeria: I hate reading books. I have to be truly bored to be interested in a book, and even then, I make Lady Maria here read them. Juliet wanted to write one once, right?
Princess Juliet: I only wanted to share my experiences living with you with the world. It would have said things like "beneath her icy blond exterior, her soul has crumbled to ashes" and the like.
Lady Lilian: (laughs)
Princess Valeria: Then we should all be grateful that women are not allowed to publish books like this.

“So how’s LA?,” Bianca asks as she folds her sweater neatly before she carefully puts it into her suitcase. Her flight is scheduled for tomorrow, and here she is, getting ready, while also busy talking to her boyfriend through the FaceTime call. She steals a glance at her phone that she sets on her nightstand, so she can see Grayson’s face on her screen while getting her stuff packed.
“LA’s okay,” Grayson replies after a moment of thinking.
“Just okay? I thought you’ve been dreaming about living in LA all this time,” Bianca scoffs as she folds the last pair of jeans that she grabbed from her closet.
“True, but not fun that you’re not here, babe,” Grayson lets out a soft groan as he runs his thick fingers through his dark hair. The concept of being away from his girl slowly drives him crazy. Even only for two weeks.
“Baby, few more hours, and we’ll be together again,” Bianca emits a light chuckle as she zips her suitcase up. She got everything she needs packed, so she crawls onto her bed to lie down, phone in her hand, of course.
“I know. I miss you. I can’t wait for tomorrow,” her boyfriend mumbles as he wraps an arm around his pillow to hug it. “I’m all excited about sharing a room with you, you know?,” a cheeky grin comes across his lips as he talks.
“Don’t tell me that you’ve been busy preparing,” Bianca rolls her eyes playfully, followed with a slight chuckle.
Grayson moves his phone camera so he can show her the whole bed that he’s lying on. “Which side of the bed that you want?,” he chuckles.
“Um... can I have the right side? I want to sleep by the window!,” she giggles as she answers his question once she’s done observing the room though his phone camera.
“And because you’re always right too? Like— you know, they say, women are always right, blah blah,” this time, Grayson rolls his eyes back playfully. Bianca can’t help but bursts into laughter as he rolls his eyes.
“I didn’t say that!,” she shakes her head.
Bianca’s still laughing the moment Grayson jumps out of his bed quickly out of nowhere. She notices his sudden action, so she calls for his name. “Grayson?,” she calls for her boyfriend.
“Yeah?”
“What’s wrong?”
“No, I think I hear someone talking to Ethan,” Grayson replies as he heads out of his room.
“Maybe he’s on a call with Mabel?,” Bianca guesses.
“Nah, doesn’t sound like Mabel,” Grayson shakes his head as he keeps walking, heading to the living room. “Oh, it’s you!,” Grayson’s voice echoes.
“Grayson! I thought you’re out!,” Bianca can hear a female voice talking to her boyfriend. She keeps her gaze on her phone screen to watch her boyfriend.
“Nah, I’m on call with my girlfriend,” Grayson moves his gaze from his phone screen to the other person standing in front of him.
“Gray? Who’s that?,” Bianca calls him once again.
Grayson immediately shifts his gaze back to his girlfriend to answer. “It’s Alana,” he answers with a thin smile on his lips.
Alana?
Bianca takes a quick look at the clock on the top left of her screen to check for the time. 12.45 am in Jersey, which means 9.45 pm in Los Angeles.
“What is she doing?,” Bianca whispers. But Grayson’s too busy talking to the blonde girl sitting on the couch in his living room with his twin brother.
“Monty’s? That sounds like a good idea!,” Bianca can hear Grayson talking to the other girl. He seems excited, and she doesn’t know what for.
“Gray?”
“Yeah?,” Grayson quickly shifts his gaze back to the girl on his phone screen.
“What’s Monty’s?,” Bianca arches her brow in confusion.
“Ah, Monty’s one vegan burger joint here. Babe, they have the best burgers! You’ll love it, I swear,” Grayson explains excitedly. “Oh, also, their shakes are bomb! You have to try it— Hell, I’m taking you to Monty’s once you’ve arrived!,” he adds.
“Wait— you’re going to Monty’s? Like— now?,” his girlfriend frowns.
“Alana wants to get some shakes,” the man on her phone screen shrugs.
“Isn’t it late? Like— isn’t it almost 10 there? You need some rest, Gray,” Bianca sinks her teeth onto her lower lip as she thinks about the possible reason behind Alana asking Grayson out to get some shakes this late.
Is she into him?
“Uh, I have no class tomorrow, babe. And I napped. So I’m good!,” Grayson replies as he gives his girlfriend a thumb up to convince her.
“Grayson, it’s late,” A soft sigh escapes her as she watches him moving again. He’s walking back to his room, she knows it.
“Baby, just the shakes, and I’ll head back home,” Grayson answers as he gives his girlfriend a small smile, grabbing his wallet and his keys that he put on his nightstand. “Isn’t it late for you? Isn’t it almost 1?,” Grayson arches his brow as he walks out of his room once again.
“Yeah, it’s 10 to 1,” she answers.
“You have a flight to catch in the morning, Bianca. Get some sleep,” he speaks as he walks. This time, he’s not even looking at her.
Out of nowhere, Bianca can feel her anxiety is on the rise again. Watching him being excited about getting late night shakes with his ex crush really got her overthinking.
“I will, I’m done packing, though,” Bianca nods, but Grayson isn’t paying attention to her the moment she speaks.
“Alana, come on,” again, Grayson’s voice echoes as he calls for Alana. “Yo, E, want to join?,” he shifts his gaze to his twin, who’s sitting on the couch with his laptop on his lap.
“I’ll stay here, I have an assignment to finish, but can you get me some salted caramel shakes, please?,” Ethan replies without even looking at his twin. He’s clearly too busy with the assignment.
“Yeah, I’ll get you that one,” Grayson nods his head before he shifts his gaze back to the girl on his phone screen. “Baby, you need to sleep,” again, he tells her to go.
“I’m going, I’m going, but—Gray?,” she calls for her boyfriend.
“Yeah?”
“Will you pick me up at the airport tomorrow?,” she asks.
“Of course! Just let me know about the time, yeah?,” Grayson gives her another smile. “Now sleep, baby,” and again.
“Fine—“
“Goodnight! I love you!— Alana, hurry up—,” that’s what she hears before Grayson ends the phone call. Real quick that she didn’t even get the chance to say ‘i love you’ back.
Bianca puts her phone on her nightstand as soon as she sets her alarm, and turns her night light on. Her mind wonders about the worst scenario that might happen for letting her boyfriend going out with his ex crush this late for the sake of shakes.
Is Grayson into her again that he willingly drives her this late to Monty’s?
Bianca wraps her arms around her pillow as she lets out another sigh, followed with a mumble.
“Grayson, please don’t hurt me again. I’m begging.”
———————————————————————
“Oh my God, is it really you?,” Grayson nearly screams as he throws his arms wide open only to scoop his Bumblebee into a hug. Bianca drops her suitcase and throws her arms around his neck. It’s been 5 days since the last time they shared their last kiss at the airport in New Jersey, right before Grayson left.
“Gray!,” Bianca squeals as he boyfriend carefully lifts her off the ground, so she wraps her legs around his waist to cling onto him like a koala.
“Bumblebee, you’re here!,” he coos before he gently brushes his lips against hers, pulling her close for a kiss. Bianca moves her hands up to rest them on his cheeks as they kiss.
“My beautiful baby,” Grayson mumbles absent-mindedly as he keeps his gaze on her features, admiring how beautiful she looks that day. There stands his girlfriend, wearing a white tanktop that she tucked into her high-waisted jeans, covered with her khaki trench coat and of course, her favorite black Chuck Taylor.
Grayson kneels down to grab her suitcase, and uses his other hand to take her hand in his. “How’s the flight? Are you tired?,” he asks as he leads her towards the silver Jeep Compass parked in the parking lot.
“Flight’s okay, a little tired and wait— whose car is this?,” Bianca turns to face her boyfriend. That car’s definitely not his. He has a black Porsche, not a silver Jeep Compass.
“Yo, say hi,” Grayson knocks on the driver’s window. The person inside finally rolls the window down so Bianca can see the one driving that car.
Blue eyes, blonde hair. Alana Whitman.
“Hi, Bianca! You’re good?,” she greets her with a smile on her face.
“Oh— hi, Alana. I’m good,” Bianca answers, giving her a thin smile in return. The other person sitting on the backseat rolls the window down as well. It’s Ethan.
“Biancaaa!,” he greets his bestfriend excitedly.
“Ethan!,” Bianca turns her gaze to her bestfriend who’s sitting on the backseat of the car. Grayson puts her suitcase in the trunk of the car before he opens the door for her.
“Get in, babe. Let’s get you your first Monty’s,” Grayson chuckles as he motions his head towards the open door. So Bianca crawls onto the backseat of the car, sitting next to Ethan. Once she’s in, Grayson gets into the front passenger seat.
“Alright, everyone’s ready?,” Alana asks as she starts her car.
“Bruh, I’m always ready for Monty’s,” Ethan replies excitedly to match her energy.
“You excited, baby?,” Grayson turns to take a quick look at his girlfriend who’s sitting on the backseat. Bianca gives him a small smile and nods her head.
“To Monty’s!,” Grayson shouts, followed with Alana and Ethan’s laughter.
———————————————————————
“Hey, Alana, what do you think about the Film History class?,” Grayson’s voice breaks the silence between four of them as they’re heading to Monty’s.
“It’s pretty interesting,” Alana answers as she keeps her gaze on the roads ahead, both hands on her steering wheel.
“The fuck? We have a lot of materials to read and you find it fun?!,” Grayson’s eyes go wide as he turns to his side to face Alana, who’s not even looking at him.
“Reading is fun, Grayson, really,” Alana’s shoulders rise and fall into a shrug as she hums.
“Yeah, maybe it’s just my dyslexic ass,” Grayson rolls his eyes back, finding her statement about the ‘reading is one fun shit to do’ sounds like a complete bullshit to him.
In the backseat, Bianca, who listens the whole conversation, pokes Ethan right on his shoulder, since he got his AirPods plugged in all the time. “Ethan,” she whispers.
Ethan takes his right AirPods out and turns to face her. “Yeah?,” he whispers in return.
“Are Grayson and Alana in the same class?,” she whispers, not wanting both of them to hear her.
“Of course, they’re in the same major,” Ethan shrugs. He arches his brow the moment he notices Bianca’s frown. “What? You have no idea about that?,” he asks.
“He has never told me about that,” she whispers once again. “Are they— you know—,” Bianca’s activating her FBI agent mode, ready to interrogate.
“They what?,” Ethan hisses.
“They—“
“Woo, we’re here!,” Grayson cheers, distracting the both passenger sitting on the backseat of the car. “C’mon, baby!,” he shouts happily before he hops out of the passenger seat. So does Alana, leaving the two in the car.
Bianca turns to face Ethan one more time as she speaks. “Ethan, she used to be his crush back in middle school, right?,” she sighs.
“Yeah, but there’s nothing between them, Bianca, really,” Ethan shrugs as he unbuckles his seatbealt.
“Hm— girl’s kinda sus,” Bianca mumbles as she unbuckles her seatbelt. “But I’m here and I’m ready to mark my own territory,” she continues.
“Ooh, scary girlfriend shit,” Ethan teases her, which got him ended up having the back of his head smacked by Bianca.
“Shut the fuck up, Crimson Chin,” she hisses before she jumps out of the passenger seat to follow her boyfriend.

My Gold Award
As my Gold Award is coming to an end I would like to share the experience with everyone else. My Gold Award was focused on teaching younger children about how to grow vegetables. It turned out to be much much more. I taught them about the process of growing, what the vegetables looked like, what the plants looked like, and maybe the most fun part was letting them try what  different types of vegetables taste like.
I would encourage everyone to participate in doing an activity like this. Going out and teaching children about basic life skills is great!! Watching them experiencing new things is exciting for them and you. It's an amazing experience for everyone involved.
If you are interested this is how I went about completing my project and would love t talk to others about doing this as well.
Know About The Grow Lesson Plan
1.Commit to this program.
a.This will be time consuming, but will definitely be worth is. Know About The Grow is a lesson for younger kids 12 years old and younger. This lesson is designed to teach the children about how to grow food.
2.Choose a location to teach at.
a.The place you want to teach at you want to chose it based on a lack of education and funding that way more kids can be helped.
b.Ask the owner of the place (daycare, care center, After school activity, etc.) if you can come in and teach this class to their kids.
3.Pick a date and time.
a.Once you have a place to teach at, you need to go ahead and pick a time and date. This way the place already has you down and it will make it easier on you because you will have a timeline to keep you on track, and will make the place remember you so you don’t run out of time.
4.Now you need to purchase materials.
a.Here is the list of materials you need, and where to get these items as well as their prices.
b.Poster boards are 69 cents each at the Dollar Store.
c.You will need markers which are $6.97 at walmart and $10.00 at the Office Depot.
d. You will need plain printer paper and there is a pack for $9.45 at Walmart.
e.You need vegetable seeds which are $1.00 for two packs at the Dollar Store, .99 cents each at Walmart, and $1.59 a pack at Lowes.
f. Potting Soil is $11.00 at Walmart, and $14.00 a pack at Home Depot.
g.The planters should be completely recycled out of old milk gallons and coke bottles, resulting in no cost.
h.This project should not cost more than $90.00, maybe even less.
i.You will also need to buy some example vegetables and other foods from a grocery store so you can bring snacks for the kids as part of the presentation
5.Next you need to put everything together
a.You will need to make one poster about how vegetables grow, and another about examples of vegetables and what you could make out of the vegetables. Example if the vegetable is bell pepper you could put that in a salad or on a pizza.
b.You need to grow some different types of vegetables and fruits to show the differences between different kinds of plants.
c.Collect empty coke and milk bottles to use as recycled planters. Go ahead and cut off the tops that way they are ready to use as planters for you and to take them to the daycare.
d.Make the snacks made with vegetables or just bring clean different vegetables for them to try the day before going to the daycare.
6.Now you will present this presentation. This is what you will have to do at the daycare:
a.Bring in my materials / setup
b.Introduce yourself and what you will be talking about   c.Start presentation: ask questions like Does anyone know how to grow food? & Does anyone know how food grows?
d.Show and explain poster about how fruits and vegetables grow.
e.Now let the children start the process of growing a garden at their daycare
i.Use the bottles, soil, seeds, and water you have collected beforehand.
ii.Take them outside and help them, but let them do it.
f.Then transition into the kinds of vegetables there are, what the plants of those vegetables will look like, what vegetables can be used for (food wise)
i.This will be using poster of different vegetables, plants that are already growing, vegetables of the plants.
g.Give out the snacks for the kids (make sure to do a headcount beforehand so you have enough for all of them)
h.Clean everything up and throw away all trash.
i.Say goodbye, thank them for the opportunity and leave.

The World's Smallest Baby Boy Is Even More Remarkable Than You Think
The baby boy prior to he was taken house from the medical facility.

In August 2018, a baby boy was born in Tokyo weighing just 9.45 ounces (268 grams) — about the weight of a bag of potato chips.
The boy had actually stopped growing in his mom’s womb, medical professionals at Keio University Healthcare facility informed Reuters, and needed to be provided by an emergency situation Caesarean area 24 weeks into the mom’s pregnancy to prevent a stillbirth. However the baby was smaller sized and less industrialized than he ought to have been at 24 weeks, which is the youngest age most medical professionals think about “viable,” implying the kid can endure outside the womb. He might not breath or consume on his own, and his whole body fit inside his moms and dads’ cupped hands.
However recently, on Feb. 20, after 5 months of treatment, that baby boy was lastly released from Keio University Healthcare facility and permitted to go house with his household. Though he now weighs a healthy 7 pounds (3.2 kgs), he leaves the medical facility with the difference of being the world’s smallest enduring male baby born in taped history. [7 Baby Myths Debunked]
“There are just 4 infants this little [that survived] that we understand of in the history of humanity,” stated Dr. Edward Bell, a teacher of neonatal pediatrics at the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medication. “It’s exceedingly rare. And for boys, as far as I can tell, it’s unique.”
Bell is the creator and web designer of the Smallest Children Computer System Registry, the University of Iowa’s database of the world’s smallest enduring infants born because 1936. The baby boy born in Tokyo last August ranks as the fourth-smallest kid on Bell’s computer registry, and is gone beyond by 3 baby ladies from Tokyo, Illinois and Germany, all born at 25 weeks and weighing 9.34, 9.17 and 8.88 ounces (265, 260 and 252 g), respectively.
The baby boy at 5 days old, in among his moms and dad’s hands.

Of the computer registry’s 210 infants (all weighing under 14 ounces, or 400 grams, at birth), Bell informed Live Science that approximately 75 percent are female. This is since males establish more gradually than women, both in the womb and in teenage years.
“In these cases of exceptionally early [birth] or exceptionally kids, ladies are a bit more industrialized than young boys,” Bell stated, which offers baby ladies a minor survival benefit. “More boys are born, but more girls survive.”
Typically, Bell stated, infants born so little stop establishing in the womb since their mom’s placenta is not appropriately providing the oxygen and nutrients they require to grow. The boy from Tokyo had “unusually well developed” heart, lungs, brain and kidneys for a baby of his size, Bell stated (the boy’s doctor needed to supply these information to get the baby noted on Bell’s computer registry), however possibilities are he will never ever reach the typical height of other kids.
“Even if his parents are of average size, he is more likely to be one of the shorter kids in his class picture, for example,” Bell stated.
Children born so little likewise deal with increased dangers of establishing finding out impairments and health issues than kids born at complete term — nevertheless, Bell stated, the results really appear to vary baby-to-baby.
“Some of the babies on the registry are severely handicapped,” Bell stated. “Some of them are having good lives, are college graduates and very talented individuals. You see the whole spectrum.”

‘Keep talking to me’: Hyderabad vet’s last phone call to sister - india news
Tumblr media
The scene changes drastically as you drive off the Hyderabad-Bangalore highway at the Chatanpally crossing. The wide road leads to a narrow path, concrete gives way to mud, and bright lights switch to total darkness. On this zigzagged path, an underpass opens out on to the service road on the other side. Inside this underpass is one of the quietest, darkest, and remotest patches of land on the 285-km route connecting two state capitals. It’s so cut off from the buzz of speeding cars above that it’s unlikely anyone would have noticed someone being set on fire inside it — especially in the middle of the night. And no one did on the intervening night of November 27 and 28.At 5am on November 28, a milkman from Chatanpally village took the underpass on his way to the other side and saw something burning. He dismissed it as a fire lit by someone to keep warm. On his way back, at 7am, the fire was still on. Curious, he went to inspect it and saw a human hand sticking out of the fire. He called up the police on his mobile phone. By then, officers at the Shadnagar police station were already looking for a missing person for a few hours.A 26-year-old veterinary doctor in a southern suburb of Hyderabad left her house at 5.30pm the previous day. The last time her family heard from her was at 9. 22pm when she called her sister from a toll plaza on the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway, and told her that she was feeling scared. She said her scooter had a puncture and a bunch of men had offered to help, but she was feeling uncomfortable around them. “Keep talking to me,” she told her sister a few minutes before disconnecting the call. When her sister rang her back on her mobile phone at 9. 45pm, she found it switched off. Her sister rushed to file a complaint at the nearest police station at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station, but she was told by the officers on duty that the toll plaza didn’t fall in their jurisdiction. The family claims they were told that she may have just “eloped with a boyfriend” and also asked whether she had any “lovers or affairs”.At 3.10am, the family finally managed to register a missing-person complaint at Shadnagar police station. These were crucial hours as the police would discover later: between 9.45 and 10.30pm, the woman was gang-raped and murdered a few metres off the Nehru-ORR toll plaza. The crimes were allegedly plotted hours previously. At 6pm, when the 26-year-old drove to the toll plaza from her house, 10km away, to park her scooter and hail a shared taxi farther into the city, a common practice for residents in the suburb, she didn’t notice four young men sitting in a circle and sharing a bottle of whiskey. As the police later pieced together, the four men, Mohammed Arif (26), Jolly Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chenna Keshavalu (21), worked as drivers and cleaners of a lorry that plied between Bangalore and Hyderabad carrying construction material, mainly iron nails and bricks. Somewhere on the route, the police said, they stopped at a scrap shop, sold off a pack of iron nails, and bought four bottles of liquor. They were making their way through the first bottle when they noticed the young woman park her scooter and get into a taxi headed towards Gachibowli, 20km away, where she had an appointment with a dermatologist. One of them punctured her scooter’s tyre shortly after she left. Then they resumed the drinking, and waited for her to return. At 9. 20pm, when she came back and discovered the flat tyre, the leader of the group, Arif, approached her and offered help. Arif walked with her to the toll booth and asked the operator to point them in the direction of a bike repair shop, as the operator, Shonu, told the police. He gave them directions to a repair shop a short distance away, but on the side road leading off the highway. As the vet dragged the scooter with the group of men off the highway, Arif suggested that one of his men proceed to the repair shop while the others wait with her near toll plaza. The remaining three men persuaded her to walk into a dark compound housing an abandoned worker’s room surrounded by overgrown bushes to the left of the plaza. This is when she panicked and called up her sister, but between the time she hung up and her sister called her back, the fourth man had returned, and one of them had seized her mobile phone and turned it off. Then the group was taking turns to rape her, after forcing her to consume some liquor, according to the police report. “They forcibly committed gang rape against her will and consent, robbed her of her belongings, and murdered her by smothering,” said the remand report of the Shadnagar police. By 11pm, the four men allegedly tossed her dead body into their lorry and planned its disposal. While two of them, with Arif at the wheel, drove the lorry towards Bangalore, the other two followed them on the vet’s scooter. They then decided to burn the body.“Shiva and Naveen went to a petrol bunk to purchase petrol but the worker there refused to give petrol,” the report said. It was he who later gave the investigating officers their first breakthrough. On November 29, a worker at an Essar petrol bunk near Nandigama village, called the Shadnagar police after watching the news, and told them that on the midnight of 27/28 November, two men aged around 20 came in on a red Hero Maestro scooter and asked for petrol to be filled in a plastic bottle. “They went to another bunk and purchased petrol to set fire to the body. On the way, near Ashiyana Hotel, they found a bridge and decided to dispose of the body under the bridge,” the report added. “Chenna Keshavulu turned the lorry towards Hyderabad and they took the dead body under the bridge. Arif poured petrol on the body, Naveen poured diesel, and Shiva lit the fire with a match box. Sim card, handbag of the deceased were thrown in the flames … Arif and Keshavulu left the spot in lorry, Shiva and Naveen followed on the scooty. On the way, near Kothur bus stop, Shiva and Naveen parked the scooty and boarded the lorry.” They removed the number plate of the scooter before leaving it behind. Then they went to their villages, changed their clothes, and went to bed. At 7am on November 28, the police station in Shadnagar received information about the burning body. A police team arrived shortly with the father of the missing doctor who took one look at the remains and identified his daughter.SHOCK, ANGERBased on information from the CCTV cameras on the highway and leads from the toll-booth operator, the scooter repair mechanic, the petrol pump workers and the owner of the lorry fleet, the police arrested the four suspects from the neighbouring Narayanpet district hours after the discovery of the dead body. They are currently in a 14-day police remand in Cherlapalli jail just outside Hyderabad. As news travelled, people across India reacted in outrage to the brutal rape and murder of the 26-year-old veterinarian. Many were reminded of the Delhi gang rape in 2012, when a 24-year-old physiotherapy student was raped and murdered in a moving bus by a group of six men, a crime that drove a nationwide movement for women’s rights and a revision of rape laws. In common with the 2012 case, this too was tangled up in gender and class battles; while the victim was a middle-class professional from the city, the perpetrators are blue-collar workers from villages. Protests took place widely, from outside the police station and jail, where the suspects were produced to campuses and streets, from Hyderabad’s Charminar to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Near the toll booth where the veterinarian was raped and murdered, 26-year-old protestor Swati Devarakonda, a software developer, said, “ When they said on TV that it was just a few metres away from the toll booth, I couldn’t believe, given that it is busy round-the-clock. Which is why I came to see for myself. She was the same age as me and must have had similar dreams and ambitions. I carry a pepper spray but if four men attack one girl, how can anybody defend themselves? . We should make an example of culprits.”“If our women and children are not safe, what is the use of police and government. Like in Arab countries, publicly behead culprits. This has nothing to do with religion. We should not allow anybody to divide us. If the police, courts can’t handle the culprits, hand them to the public, we will take care,” said Maqdoom Pasha, a fruit seller, who had come to the spot with his wife. Many politicians and ministers in Telangana have visited and consoled the victim’s family. In a series of tweets, KT Rama Rao, minister in state cabinet and son of chief minister K Chandrashekara Rao, pleaded with the Prime Minister: “Hon’ble PM @narenramodi ji, 7 years after Nirbhaya’s ghastly rape and murder, the convicts are not hung…”On Sunday, KCR said that fast track court would ensure speedy justice in the case and that the government would extend all assistance required to the victim’s family. “Everybody comes and tell us justice will be done. What is the use? Will our smiling daughter comeback? After Nirbhaya case too, nothing has changed. That is the tragedy of the country,” said the deceased’s uncle at her building complex. ‘HOW CAN MY SON DO THIS?’Nearly 150km away, in Narayanpet district, the villages are eerily quiet. All four suspects in the case belong to this district. Three of them, Naveen, Shiva and Keshavulu, are from the Gudigandla village, and the main suspect, Arif, from Jakulaire village. Although the district is close and well connected to the IT hubs of Hyderabad, most people in the villages either work in the farms or pick up odd jobs around the city. The three suspects from Gudigandla are school drop-outs who, when they weren’t picked up from the village by lorry drivers, spent their time loafing or sleeping, according to their families and neighbours. “For last six months, he hadn’t worked. He had left for the lorry cleaning job three days ago,” said Lakshmi, mother of Jolly Naveen. Since her husband died in 2006, she works in other people’s farms. She did not have the time to track her son’s habits and movements. “I have my job. I have my daughter,” she said. “When he left he didn’t say where he was going. His work was loading and unloading boxes. He made ~5,000 a month from it. When he came back, he used to be grimy from head to toe. When he came early morning on Thursday, he followed his routine -- had a bath, had food, and slept. Some time later, he got a call from his cousin Chenna Keshavulu and left for his house. He didn’t come back,” she said. Naveen was arrested from the house of Chenna Keshavulu, where the police was waiting for him. Lakshmi found out why he had not returned after watching the news on television and from neighbours. She has been angry ever since. “He is my only son, so I naturally love him, but if they did what is being alleged, then they all deserve to be hanged.”At the house of Jollu Shiva, his father, Jollu Rajaih, says he wasn’t even around when his son left or when he came back, because he was away at a distant farm where he lives and works. He has been to the police station since, he says, but he wasn’t allowed to talk to his son. “I wanted to ask him how and why all of this happened. He never drank, he never spoke to any girl in the village, never troubled anyone,” said Rajaih. The father said he will follow his principles, though. “He is young but he is responsible for his actions. I have a daughter. I won’t stand for any of this if its true.”Across the road from Shiva’s house, Keshavulu’s mother, also a farm worker, refuses to believe her son is capable of rape and murder. “No way he would have done anything. Perhaps he tagged along, stood and watched,” she said. For years, she says, his son has suffered from a kidney defect whose treatment, including monthly dialysis, swallows up most of the family’s earnings. “We took very good care of our son, we pampered him. When will they release him? My husband is very angry, he wants to drink himself to death. I don’t have the will to live,” she said.A short drive from Gandigudla is Jakulaire, Arif’s village, where his parents, too, are dealing with shock. “When he came back that morning, he didn’t eat, he even refused water. He said while he was driving the lorry one girl drove in the opposite direction on her scooter and he hit her by mistake, and she died. This is all I know,” said his mother, Moole Bi. She received information about his alleged actions since, but she would rather not believe it. “How can my son do this?” Source link Read the full article

1st time marathon review
Last year after watching parts of the marathon in my hometown and getting caught up in the emotion of the day I decided I might try running for the next year.
This was something I always wanted to do but due to kidney disease much wasn’t happening in my life at all so I had decided 9 months before to remove the kidney and improve my quality of life.
I had the approval of my doctors so I went ahead and signed up for 2018!
I also have asthma and have never run before but I’m physically fit so found a run club.
The things I hated about run clubs are the lack of running! These clubs were usually full and everyone seemed to know one another and it was more of a chance to get together and jog and chat!
Anyway I eventually found a club which was really intense but I kept up every class, I also carried on with other sports like boxing and gym.
In August I dreaded going to the club so I quit, I much preferred running solo so I made my own marathon workouts which worked well for me.
In other news I found I had the opportunity to work in the Netherlands for 6 months through my current employer at the university, I was really happy about it as it pretty much included everything accommodation, living allowance plus my current wages.
After settling in I carried on with my training, I found lots of running clubs to join and began CrossFit training. Sometimes due to my work I was finding I wasn’t able to run, the evening was becoming darker by the time I finished work so I began running in the morning which I really disliked so I started evening running again.
Christmas came and I went back to the U.K. for a few days when I finally realised something I hadn’t noticed before, the hills! I had been running on completely flat land for 4 months and the marathon was just 4 months away and would have a lot of hills!
I then went to Germany before it was time to start the job I had begun to hate again.
I found routes I could run on grassy land where I would find myself in Belgium! The nearest I would get to running any sort of incline.
2 weeks before the marathon I returned to the U.K. and got in as much training as possible to the point of causing shin splints.
The marathon day came I hadn’t slept much the night before and before leaving home I drank two bottles of water and a lucozade sports drink. I had to wait 20 minutes in a toilet queue and after I was done I felt the urge to go again, the queues were crazy and I found myself feeling angry seeing others in the queues who were obviously not running.
I went to my corral and found more toilets with smaller queues and went two times!
When it was time for the race to begin in true British style there was more queuing! The marathon started at 9.45 but I didn’t cross the start until 10.19.
I tried not to get caught up in the excitement and run to fast to start with, it’s so exciting it’s difficult to pace yourself! It took me around 3 kilometres before I could actually get into the race, I was so distracted by the spectators then I started to focus myself until there was hill! I noticed people walking up but I managed a jog! We went through more streets then at last the sea was right there in front of me! I was so happy I love the sea and I thought how nice compared to other marathons this was.
Unfortunately it was all uphill so far uphill the spectators had disappeared and I felt quite lonely and had time to reflect how I was really running this alone I had no family around to cheer me and hoped once I got to the central part of the Marathon my friends would be there or would it be so crowded they gave up looking out for me?
After we had got to the very top we vered off to a small village which was really fun! They were having a huge party and fed us all well with cut banana and orange, I was so greatful!
It was downhill and soon I would reach the halfway point, the crowds were crazy and people called my name, it really encouraged me and I realised I lost my pace and was just running for it! At the halfway point my friends were waiting in the middle of the road! Again I felt so encouraged I just ran!
The track vered off the promenade and back to the streets, this was a difficult part for me as you ran straight down this street and back down it again onto the promenade then back up the way you ran just on the promenade, I suddenly felt tired and my legs too heavy.
I saw this was mike 16 and calculated this part would be finished by mile 18 then I’d be back by the sea, so I just kept going and a slow pace.
Back on the sea I noticed they had opened a section of the road and felt left behind for some reason like this was taking to long.
I ran the rest of the next miles in a blur, I put my music on at this point until the rain came at mile 22 I welcomed it and people were cheering!
Miles 22 to 26 saw more spectators plus I was by the sea knowing the end was soon.
By mile 26 I had .2 to go so I floored it to the finish! I couldn’t believe the pain in my swollen feet once I finally stopped, I was so disoriented someone had to direct me to get my medal! I totally forgot I’d get one! Someone handed me a beer and forgot to pick up my bag so I had to go back, I got my bag which had an orange juice inside and drank it then puked it up, not a good move, someone gave me water with sugar in it and I remember crying because it was the best thing I had tasted! I was also handed an ice cup and cried more!
So all in all a strange emotionl experience I think will stay with me forever.
I finished in 5 hours

Whisper of the Heart
Again, I love it. But I regret watching this movie in 2 halves. I feel like I would have like it a lot more if I had just finished it in the first place. I watched the first half on the 14th April at around 10pm something, and I watch it on my phone, instead of putting it up on the TV. There are pros and cons to this. The pros is that I can easily stop the movie and fan girl over how cute Seiji is 😍😍😍. The cons is that I keep stoping, so the movie doesn’t flow in a way that it should; it’s bad for my eyes to watch on the phone and it takes me longer to finish the movie. I went straight to bed after watching the first half, up to the point where Seiji walk to Shizuku class room and was calling out for her. I went to bed loving the movie so much and was so excited to finish the movie the next day. But then in the next day, I didn’t allow my self to watch the movie right away in the morning because I had so much work to do and just want to get some of it done first. The previous night why I started watching the movie so late was because I was working. So I watched the second half at around 10pm again, and sadly the magic that was there the previous night wasn’t there anymore. I mean it was still a great film, and it still helps to inspired me but it just wasn’t the same as the night before where I absolutely fell head over heels for it. The night before I love Seiji voice over in English so much, but last night I couldn’t stand it and had to switch to the original Japanese voice, which was fine cause unlike some stubborn peeps I actually don’t mind reading subtitles. Anyway I just wanted to document my film watching experience. I feel like even though the film is really good, the effect a film has on an individual ultimately depends on that individual current situation and emotion.
I’m going take a couples of days of Ghibli movie for now, so that when I watch the next one it will be even more magical. I feel I always like the latest film that I watched the most. At first when I watched spirit away I really like it, then I watched Arrietty and I like it more. Then I watch Howl’s and I like it even more. Then I watch From up on the Poppy Hill and I ,you guess it, like it even more. It would have totally be the same with Whisper of the Heart if I had finish it in one go. Right now it’s at a tie with From up on the Poppy Hill, haha.

Day 8: Thursday, September 12th
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today, I woke up and went on my normal thirty minute commute to school. I had my normal 9am-11am shift at the Asian Pacific American Resource Center making flyers and cleaning around the office. I worked on my blog from the night before for my Design and its Discontents class and chatted with my coworkers about politics and relatable videos we saw on Facebook. I consume a lot of my opinions and general understandings of national events through my friends. Due to my commute and constant workload, I barely have time to check what’s going on in the world these days. This was a good reminder to get on top of my game regarding global events. I believe it’s important to know what’s going on in the world and how I can contribute to it.
After work, I made the 20 minute commute to the St. Paul campus and consumed social media. My phone states that I spend time on the phone at least five hours a day. This probably includes my alarm, the hour-long episodes I watch, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), and other menial applications. I used to be conscious of my screen time and how much media I’m consuming, but now it’s just like clockwork. It’s hard to break a habit when you’ve been doing it for years and live in a generation used to using their phone for everything. I just hope that I can continue to be conscious throughout this week.
In my Design and its Discontents class, I learned three new words/concepts:
Perception
Pedagogy
Hermeneutics
I commuted back to East Bank, I grabbed a bokkeum burrito from Burrigato for $9.45. After grabbing lunch, I worked at my second job, CLAgency. Again, I skimmed through the College of Liberal Arts brand guidelines and applied them to the name tags and flyer edits I was working on. I’ve learned that there are multiple font choices that the University uses, whether it be for a website, print, or other collateral. I was also tasked to work on creating concepts for this semester’s committee photos. At 4:00pm, I went to my Visual Communications class and learned about semiotics, the study of signs and symbols and their use or interpretation. Because I wanted to stay up later tonight, I went to Caribou and bought a blended vanilla crafted press for $3.99. For the rest of the night, I worked on homework, attended an online MAASU meeting from 7:30-8:00pm, and then went to sleep.
