My main problem with Alastor is just how. Not threatening he is. I can't take the Bob and undercut combo seriously like- LMAO

So! I edited a lot. One, his head is now. Partially missing. This is because of both his cause of death (shot by a hunter), and because I think that he got told a lot in life that 'he had his mother's eyes', and what's a better sinner punishment then taking them away? (Also missing half his face gives the vibes of 'a face not even a mother could love') so if he ever could see his mom she wouldn't even recognize him

I don't think he's blind, he has a supernatural way of seeing, but also may occasionally just run into walls inexplicably.

The fact he's chewed to bits is cus of the hunting dogs that attacked him, and a punishment bc Alastor took pride in his appearance and now he literally looks like a zombie.

Alastor is now also very polite and gentlemanly, no matter what. He never swears, and he will remain calm and cool to everyone, even people like Vox and Lucifer.

Also he made a deal with EVE NOT LILITH PLS I HOPE THIS IS THE CASE IN THE SHOW PLEADE PLEASE PLEASE

My redesign of Sir Pentious. He’s mine now.

He’s a sorcerer/illusionist instead of an inventor. He can use magic, including hypnosis, as well as store things in his hat.

Penny’s stripes and eyes, including the ones on his inner hood, glow in the dark. His amount of eyes have also been greatly reduced, because holy shit, I pity the animators. The eyes on each side of his hood are false ones, merely patterns.

Haven’t designed them yet but his eggies are still around! I love the idea that he lays them himself, because oviposition is rad, and Sinners being unable to have offspring while Lucifer and Lilith were able to have Charlie is incredibly stupid and makes no sense. So Pen has been given egg-laying privileges.

And a new name. I just have to think of one. It’s 5 am and I’m going to bed.

Yes!

I think my Beelzebub redesign is my favorite. I really love drawing bugs in general and it was really fun trying to rework her design to look more bee-like and less… furry. I actually liked the design so much I decided to repurpose it for my own character who’s Beelzebub’s daughter. She’s not as nice as Helluva’s Bee, very Regina George lol.

I actually got really excited working on her. I just love designing bugs and demons so getting a chance to do both was very enjoyable for me. I actually had even MORE sketches planned for her but I realized I was getting way too involved redesigning a character, so some concepts just became my own thing. Like I was like “I don’t mind that Beelzebub is nice, but she doesn’t feel like a Sin at all”, so I had some bonus sketches of her being like that really cool but toxic friend who just keeps enabling you.

Hardest to redesign though? God. Maybe Angel Dust? In fact even after my most recent redesign I’ve never really been fully happy with (it was very rushed compared to nifty). I enjoy doing Hazbin/Helluva redesigns but one major issue I have with these characters is that they’re WAAAAAY too bloated story wise, and Angel dust might be the worst example of this. Like fitting a drag queen, sex worker, celebrity and mafia boss into one character is a bit of a challenge because you basically have to look at Angel dust and understand all those things about him.

Maybe I’ll do a fifth one if I ever do Hazbin redesigns again LOL, but likely not. I always planned to stop early but the fandom kind of solidified it. These stop being fun knowing that there are people who monitorsmy account waiting for my next redesign to drop so they can harass me and tell me to kill myself. Not fun! I’d rather draw other things.

(Also to be clear, even if the fandom was really nice to me, I still would have stopped. The creator’s constant controversy was the main reason I quit and only did Nifty and Angel Dust after a request. But the fandom meltdown was the nail in the already deep and buried coffin)

Tentative final design for Charlie! yes I low-key abandoned the poll results but there's elements there. Really happy with this ^ - ^ design breakdown below👇🏾

I have a plethora of notes on my redesign Charlie's character and personality, but we'll skim over that for now and focus on their design. Og Charlie is supposed to be inspired by or themed after a porcelain doll I think? But it doesn't really come across without being directly told, which we aren't. Also I think her legs are supposed to be goat legs but they look normal as hell. Overall she just looks very basic. Her human edits just change like 3 little details and she becomes some white girl. Not giving "princess of hell" very much.

I wanted to base my Charlie off of a Chimera bc lions represent pride (Lucifer's sin), goats are often associated with the devil, and a snake was the form Lucifer took in the garden of Eden. Perfect thematic storm. I gave them dark hair that gradients into blonde (it's natural because this is fiction and also hell) to represent a lion's mane as chimeras have lion heads. I also gave her various goat features bc they're also part goat, as well as a snake tail like like chimeras have. The snake is like an extension of her subconscious, not its own consciousness, but Charlie often talks to it as if it were.

I wanted to give them shapes that'd allude to their angelic roots through Lucifer as well like with the ears and horns. They're also dark skinned because Lilith— as the first woman— was also dark skinned. Still debating what I want Lucifer to be and look like. Also I didn't draw her with her mouth open here but her teeth still look pretty much the same as they do originally

I really. don't like og Charlie's outfit. Logically. At a distance it looks fine, but under closer inspection it's just kinda weird and ugly. Why does her white turtleneck have buttons? If it's tucked into her pants, why are her pants so low waisted? If it's not tucked in and she wears it over her pants (ew), where's the middle seam? Her whole midsection just looks awkward and ugly to me. And the burgundy cuffs under her blazer?? Where do they come from???

She's a huge musical theatre nerd who's (supposedly) older than the Victorian era itself so I leaned into that and gave her old English and concert conductor inspired attire. I imagine Lucifer liked dressing them in similar old timey outfits. She wears a slightly simplified or toned down version of the style because she doesn't like overstating her status; she wants to come off as approachable and normal (but still kinda falls short of this with her inclination to bold clothing and her general off-putting nature)

Aaalright that's time! I wanna make another post abt her eventually bc I reworked her character a lot and I wanna yell about it. But later. Once again as a gift for (maybe) reading all the way through I offer some supplementary doodles

Although I also enjoy seeing artists apply their creativity in their redesigns of characters, I like to stay as "on model" as I can even with the wildly different art style I have compared to the source material. Idk it's kinda similar to how strict I am with keeping things in character with fics I guess. Despite that tho I really do also wanna add some "flavor" to their designs too that make sense to their character, as long as I can stay true to their silhouettes.

So Vaggie's still petite and flat chested and has CHILD BEARING HIPsss... But she has toned muscles because being an ex soldier still has her regularly working out. Charlie has wide shoulders and long limbs and an overall lanky frame, but underneath the suits she's got a pretty sizeable rack because she got em from Lilith and some tummy rolls and love handles because that's just how a skinny person who's healthy and hydrated and doesn't work out looks sometimes. Also, if she's naturally strong because of her genes, then that's even less reason for her to work out.

Ngl I probably got the idea in my head about Charlie specifically because of the chaggie fic Igual. The author made it a important to point out that Charlie's got love handles while Vaggie's inner monologue still raves about how attractive she is and that was just so nice to me.

Morningstar family redesigns

I kinda wanted to expand on my choices for my redesigns for fun

So first, Lucifer. I really don’t have a lot of issues with his original design, I think it’s fun and fits within the Hazbin universe! I just wanted to reimagine him.

I always liked the idea of Lucifer having curly reddish hair, something about his fall turning his hair red (this design isn’t 100% biblically accurate as it is just for fun), but I toned down the red to be closer to his original blonde since I also like blonde Lucifer, and I figured he’d liked to keep his hair neat so I decided to put it up and take away the hat

I wanted to keep the ring leader theme in his outfit, but I wanted to further incorporate the snake element in his design since I think he’d be proud of his fall (hence why his suit looks burnt and torn, and he shows off his burnt arm, I figured he’d do this intentionally to remind others of his rebellion)

Lastly I changed the entire family’s main colors to purple, as biblically out of the 7 sins Pride is purple and since he’s supposed to rule pride in the show I figured he’d be more purple themed then red, pretty simple🙏

Next Lilith, I think she was the only one out of the three where I didn’t really like her original design. Not only because she didn’t have much going on, but she also looked really similar to Lucifer, to the point where they almost look blood related.

I think Viv’s choices for Lilith were a bit odd, as she had SOO much potential that just wasn’t used.

I kept her blonde hair but I gave it some tan undertones and I put it up into a semi-low slicked back pompadour inspired by some hairstyles you might see young women have in the early 1900s or late 1800s, but I gave her a little down section that fades into a dark purple and looks somewhat feathery due to one adaption of her describing her as a “screech owl”. I kept the purple theme somewhat like the original and plus she technically rules over pride as well, I would have loved to have given her a red theme if pride was red.

Based on these different adaptations of Lilith a took inspiration from each, giving her a flame-themed dress and the upper body of a beautiful women yet still somewhat demon-like, I also put some fluff at the bottom of her dress since I thought it looked kinda like smoke puffs and clouds. Her stomach is covered with gold rings that look somewhat like a snake belly, and I gave her a necklace with a style inspired by some eastern jewelry, the jewels on her necklace are each the color of one of the 7 sins which I thought would be a fun touch and a little bit of a “showing off” of her role as the queen of hell.

lastly I kept her horns since she is meant to be a succubus, but I stylized them a bit to look less like those big ram-like ones since I didn’t really like how odd they looked against her head. I also gave her long slender fingers that faded to a black naturally as in biblical lore she steals babies from mothers and I thought making her hands that she stole the children with look creepy and eerie yet still beautiful was a nice touch.

Lastly, Charlie! Again, I didn’t really have a problem with the original design. I changed her suit color and theme to prides color, put I made her hair curlier and more red/orange like her dads, and I wanted some parts of her suit to resemble his a bit hence the buttons and the back of her suit going out like her dad’s (but a bit shorter for convenience.)

I imagine her being a bit showy so I kinda decked her out in silver, I thought it’d also be a fun mirroring of how her mom is covered in gold. Her shoes are pretty similar to the original, I put a little split at the front of the shoes in the dark purple since Viv has said she has little hooves which I’m not sure is true but I thought it was a fun idea so I kinda hinted at it with that

I changed her irises (is that what they’re called?) to look more snake-like like her dad, and I gave her little horns since I thought they were cute and I wanted her to maybe show them on purpose because she wanted to blend in more with the citizens of hell so they might feel less intimidated by her presence as the princess, that’s also why I didn’t give her a crown :]

Overall this was just a fun little project I did out of curiosity and boredom, these designs aren’t made to criticize or taunt vivziepop since like I said I love her designs already

Ok, I just saw your redesign of Lucifer for the 2P AU you did and I honestly like it a bit better than in the show, he actually feels prideful here since purple is in fact the biblically accurate color of Pride! :D

Also making him a brunette and adding bright blues (a biblically accurate color of Sloth) as accents was a nice choice :) and the golden eyeshadow! :)

But does he still rule Hell in the AU with Alastor coming from Heaven? And what's the latter's role IN Heaven?

2P Luci thrives in being alone, finding comfort and strength in it rather than misery. He doesn’t mind ruling Hell on his own. He doesn’t need anybody and doesn’t want anybody. His relationship with 2P Lilith has broken apart completely, due to their different views on redemption and the treatment of sinners. 2P Lilith is tricky since we know almost nothing of her, but i believe that she harbors a deep disdain for Hell and rejects the idea of controlling sinners for personal gain

BUUUUT something that has been in my mind recently is how he is essentially the embodiment of Pride.. but since 2P is (technically) the opposite of something (an inversion) The opposite of pride would be HUMILITY. Instead of making him a sad, insecure ruler, ..I’d like to think he thrives on human’s insecurities, fear, humiliation and self-doubt instead.. (rather than in the show he puts ON a prideful face when in reality he’s quite timid and socially awkward))

His relationship with 2PAlastor is quite decent (2P radioapple 🙂‍↕️) they still bicker but not in a hateful way like they do in the show, lighthearted jokes and banter, reflecting a mutual respect. (Lucifer knows how sensitive 2P Al is, and despite flourishing in humans despair and emotions, He has a soft spot for 2P Al.) ..Oh and they do not try to win over Charlie’s affection, ((2P Charlie actually does not really gaf about them XD))

Does not care for Heaven.. maybe even hates. but is not emotionally affected by his fall, I don’t know if Lucifer actually misses Heaven in the show, we can see how deeply affected he still is by their rejection of his creativity.

so i guess id like to think instead of him feeling hurt or betrayed(?), he feels somewhat thankful. Thankful that he was able to flourish in HIS ideas at last, finally seeing the evil of the world like he intended to.. destroying the order Heaven worked hard to maintain. Maybe he wanted Eve to bite the apple because he WANTED evil to come and corrupt the world, He knew what came with free will. He was a rebellious angel who went against Heaven in every way, intentionally with malice. Implying that Lucifer does not regret his role in giving sinners free will. He also cares for his sinners but not in a good way, more like he wants as many as possible so he could one day potentially top over heaven in power. A power hungry bastard.

He is serious, and a realist. NOT goofy and silly lmao. (Though he has goofy moments i shall not strip him of his whimsical fun entirely)

2P Lucifer and Original Lucifer share some similar qualities aswell. Something Both 2P Luce and Original Luce have in common is that they love Charlie.. and will protect her at all costs. Luci actually maintains a positive relationship with his daughter, He is close with her and tries to be in her life like a good father should, but 2P Charlie doesn’t usually give him the time of day. although she can be quite mean, and not the bubbly type at all like she is in the show, she still loves her father to a certain extent.

Again, we don’t really know much about the characters and the family’s history in the show.. And until we do, everything i said could be changed completely!! Like i said this is something for fun!! I haven’t really been thinking much about this AU, i designed him as a silly redraw but if i ever in the future add more details to his lore i will 🫶

Oh and as for the relationship with Original Alastor and 2P Luci…

Some time ago I saw these edits of Eda with a nose that's shaped more like an owl's beak, and I love that idea, so here's some screenshot edits!

Plus two bonus Amitys with a nose that's more like Alador's, because I love that headcanon/redesign as well. And I guess I also gave Lilith a larger nose in that last one.

Before anything I just want to say that I don't view Lilith as villain whatsoever we haven't really seen anything about her in the show and only the fact that she's in heaven because of a deal she had with Adam. Just wanted to make a AU exploring Lucifer and Lilith relationship and how their divorce or split effected the entirety of Hell.

AU Lucifer and Lilith's divorce resulted in Pride to also split into sides between the two ruler.

Heaven started to push more control over Hell because of the ever growing population problem. While Lucifer didn't care about the sinners, Lilith on the other hand was growing frustrated and angry at Heaven. One thing led to another both split but the two are still in love with each other even if both have different goals this time around.

Lucifer got one half of the Pride ring while Lilith got the other half. Hell has never been so divided. Most sinner decided to side with Lilith while the Hellborns sided with Lucifer. The sins were neutral not wanting to add more tension to the ever growing problem in Pride. However, the Hell's noble were split between the two rulers. Paimon obviously sided with Lucifer which meant most of Ars Goetia sided with the King but the other families sided with Lilith as they respected her more and agreed with her goal of fighting Heaven.

Also finally finished the character redesign I had of them! Here's Sebastian and Rosaline Morningstar the two other children Lucifer and Lilith had because like in the many years they were in hell, Charlie was the only one child they had???

I still don't know what to call this AU if you have any suggestion it would appreciated!

before I start this little rant I just want to say that I 100% agree that vivzie canonizing alastor as mixed was the most bullshit way to save her self from the voodoo allegations and I don't condone all of the terrible stuff she has done and her inconsistent writing (I'm just saying this because my take might make me look like a vivzie stan lol)

But as a mixed person (I have light brown skin and curly hair), seeing people constantly claim that because alastor has pale (ashy af) skin and straight hair means he isn't mixed leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I suffered alot with racial imposter syndrome when I was younger and I never felt like I was "black enough" to be accepted into poc environments. And people seem to forget that if your mixed with black and white, that your also part white. And that your skin can be light and you don't need to have curly hair to be mixed. Now alastor is definitely just a cheap excuse because he litterally has no black features what so ever (like darker skin, curly hair, flatter nose, or bigger lips), but seeing everyone always portray him with dark brown skin and curly hair just shows that some people really do sometimes forget that not all mixed people are brown with curly hair lol

Yeah like, while I agree that Alastor’s POC coding definitely sucks since it’s obviously a last minute addition if you’re aware of the Voodoo controversy. A pet peeve I have with Alastor redesigns is that they sometimes make this man seem like he’s fully brown instead of mixed Creole like Viv stated he was. Also on a side note, a pet peeve I have with some Hazbin redesigns is that they usually go as creative as they want with the other characters, but when it comes to the POC characters (or sometimes just Alastor) they just give them brown skin and features from whatever ethnicity their from. Like, while I do like that redesigns actually make the POC characters look POC, it’s also kinda boring at the same time because some are willing to give Nifty whatever color skin they like (since she’s a insect) and Lilith purple sometimes. But they just give the POC characters brown/black skin and ethnic features and call it a day? (I hope this makes sense)

Also admittedly, I feel like Velvette’s coding is worse than Alastor’s because I believe she’s supposed to be fully coded as black instead of mixed (she’s voiced by a black voice actress to) yet she has the same ashy grey skin like-what the hell is the coding in Hazbin Hotel. This also applies to the Seraphim sisters (except Sera personally because at least she has darker skin compared to Emily)
