It had been a few weeks since the last bookball game where Cerise had helped the team win and where Daring Charming of all people took a liking to her.

Deep down she knew it was a bad idea to give whatever… this was a chance, but she couldn’t help it. She had become enraptured by that Daring charm that every girl seemed to also be.

She knew that it could never really work out, he was the destined prince of Snow White and she was just little red riding hood with a dark secret.

But she went for it anyway, she let herself become… entranced and now she was paying the price.

She was never the one to cry, but she could feel hot tears brimming at the back of her eyes as she and Daring sat in the privacy of the library.

Daring to his credit did look a little guilty but she didn’t think he looked half as upset as she was feeling.

“Look Cerise I am sorry but… well you know.” She did. It consumed her brain from the very first moment that he asked her to dance.

“I know. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt.” Daring looked surprised. Maybe it was because she had opened up or maybe he didn’t expect her to admit to her feelings.

“But it shouldn’t hurt. We were nothing.” Her breath caught in her throat as she pulled back her eyes wide as she looked at him with confusion.

“What’s that supposed to mean.” The bite in her voice had Daring almost seizing her up but he didn’t, he instead flashed that… that damned charming smile.

“I don’t know what you aren’t getting. Cerise we were never a thing, sure we danced and went to some ‘dates’ but that doesn’t mean we were anything.”

She stared at him with complete shock, no words coming out as he stared at her dumbly. “Look I danced with Briar and Farrah and countless other girls but that doesn’t mean we were ever a thing. So why did you think you were an exception.”

Yes. Why did she think she was ever special to someone like Daring Charming, the prince of destiny and the hero of Snow White.

She swallowed before she spoke, to afraid that her voice would crack. “Because you looked at me as if I was special as if you cared as if you liked me.”

Daring shrugged while grabbing a hand mirror “I do like you Cerise. Just not like that.” He put the mirror in his lap “you are a good friend and a team member.”

The words clawed at her heart harder than she imagined Ramona would when their destiny played out. She felt her eyes burning as she nodded.

“Friends. Of course, because nothing happened between us.” Daring gave her a pat on the shoulder as he smiled. “See now you get it.”

Cerise nodded again and quickly stood up, he gave her a questioning glance before she proceeded to gather her things.

“I uhh have to go. Got class.” She hoped he wouldn’t notice that it was well past class time as she sprinted out the line with tears flowing down her cheeks.

Back in the library Daring watched the door close before he grabbed his mirror again and started to check himself out.

But before he could a girl with rose red lips, black glasses and redish brown hair toward over him with a glare on her face.

He recognized her easily as Rosabella Beauty, the quite cousin of Briar Beauty. He ignored the look on her face and flashed a charming smile.

“Rosabella what can I do for you.” Her eyes ignited with fire as she slapped the mirror out of his hand, he was about to protest as she seethed at him.

“You may be a prince but you behave more like a beast.” She turned without an other word and ran after Cerise, leaving Daring to watch sit in confusion.

At the other side of the castle Cerise Hood ran into her father’s office, red tears streaming down her face. As the door slammed shut the big bad wolf looked up from his paper work and growled.

He immediately rounded over to his daughter as he pulled her in a comforting hug, his body still shaking if growls.

They didn’t speak, a sort of understanding playing out between them as Cerise continued to cry into his chest.

But the big bad wolf vowed that whatever had his daughter crying like that would regret it for ever after.

Raven x Dexter love it. love that dex had a crush on her for a long time, and love her being able to see him behind the expectations of him. otp

Raven x Maddie platonic. i adore their friendship and i see them being the closest to each other, but not any other way

Raven x Darling would be fun that the villian and the hero get together at the end, and they care about each other, but there is not that kind of chemestry.

Raven x Cerise love cerise being able to trust raven so much as far of telling her her secret, but i don't think they would work out on a romantic way

Apple x Darling lovelovelove it, it is adorable and even though it would take some time for apple to accept it i think they would be very happy

Apple x Daring no. i see them trusting each other a lot but they didn't even want to imagine what would happen if they ended up together, it would be very awkward

Apple x Briar just.. weird, both lesbians but apple does not understand really what briar feels, so i feel like they friendship was always very superficial, even if they called each other besties

Cedar x Cerise cuute, both of them going to the forest to search for materials for Cedars art and them building something something very cute until one day Cedar blups out she likes cerise and they date and they are happy :D

My Ever After High Ships and Opinions

So I went to Tier maker and decided to have my own opinions on the Ever After High ships, I’m going to explain the ships and why they’re ranked the way they are as well as my personal opinions on them. I am going from the bottom up.

Platonically

Darling x Apple: I already gave my opinion on Darling x Apple as a ship. Despite them being canon, and even before they were confirmed canon, I saw them as just friends. If Darling was introduced earlier (like she was in the books) then she could get more development, but I think even with that I see Darling and Apple as friends.

Briar x Ashlynn: I see them as friends, GREAT friends to be exact. I LOVED Ashlynn and Briar’s dynamic in Thronecoming and how Ashlynn was supportive of Briar’s choice of not wanting to sign and I think these two (and Crystal) go all the way back to Spellementary School (I believe it was said in Epic Winter) so they’ve been friends for a while.

Cupid x Dexter: Just friends. Dexter clearly has a crush on Raven and the majority of Cupid’s focus was pinning for Dexter and should’ve been dropped earlier than finally in Chapter 3, and according to the diaries she fell in love with Dexter by looking at a picture of him. But yeah, just friends.

Raven x Maddie: BEST FRIENDS PERIOD. I LOVE Raven and Maddie’s dynamic throughout the whole franchise. I could see them as a ship but I really prefer their friend dynamic. You have Maddie practically being the only one giving Raven a chance and not judging her for being the daughter of The Evil Queen and is her best friend despite what her mother did to her Wonderland. LOVE IT!

Apple x Ashlynn: They’re fine as friends. Going back on it, I don’t think they had that much interaction (without Briar) despite that conflict in True Hearts Day. But Ashlynn and Apple are fine as friends.

Kitty x Maddie: I would have more to say if it was Kitty x Lizzie, but Kitty and Maddie are fine as friends, they don’t really interact as much as Kitty and Lizzie do but them alongside the Wonderlandians are thick as thieves.

Daring x Apple: Despite them being a supposed couple, they don’t have real chemistry together, they hardly interact with each other but I honestly saw them as the typical popular couple, but the twist that they weren’t destined for each other was good. I can just see them as friends.

Daring x Cerise: I do understand where other fans are coming from with this ship, but I see them as friends, after Thronecoming they don’t really interact all that much. 

Apple x Raven: Just friends. Relationship wise, no. Apple got better but back in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 she wasn’t that good of a friend to Raven. Apple wouldn’t listen to Raven about her not being evil. Apple would just dismiss her thoughts and criticize her about not being evil. She got better after Thronecoming. But despite Apple getting manipulated by the Evil Queen and pressured by Snow White, it was still wrong of her to pressure her into being evil for the sake of her destiny. Raven even tried to have somebody replace her role in order to help Apple get her destiny, but Apple gets mad at her because she NEEDS Raven to be her Evil Queen. But I see them as friends.

They’re Alright

Daring x Lizzie: Now, I’ll admit I can see them as a ship and honestly Daring pre-Epic Winter, across the franchise he’s shown an interest in Lizzie and Lizzie has shown interest in Daring in some areas. I think Daring in general has in interest in girls that don’t put up with his good looks and dazzling smile, Lizzie, Cerise, and Rosabella all show cases of this. But Daring and Lizzie are alright as a ship, just not my favorites.

Cedar x Cerise: I could see Cedar and Cerise as a pairing, roommates to lovers in a way, but even though they’re roommates they don’t interact that much but they’ve been seen around school together a lot, but I can see them as a ship.

Briar x Hopper: Gonna be honest, I don’t really have much on this ship. Me personally, I liked Hopper x Ginger better from Kiss and Spell due to Ginger liking both sides of Hopper rather than just his articulate frog side like Briar does. I can see them as a couple but mainly for their designs with Hopper’s reds and Briar’s dark pinks

Jillian x Humphrey: Going back on the list I would actually put them under platonic. Yeah, they were a good pairing in the webisode but nothing else comes of this. So I’d put them in platonic category.

Had Potential and Could’ve Went Somewhere

Duchess x Sparrow: Honestly, I could see them as a couple, like oddly they could’ve been the rival couple to Ashlynn and Hunter. If they would’ve gotten more development I would’ve been invested in them as a couple (I would’ve been invested in Duchess and Sparrow in general if they had gotten more development) but these two work well off of each other, and with more interaction they could’ve went somewhere.

Darling x Cerise: Considering how much interaction they had in the background of Dragon Games, they could’ve went somewhere! Both of them have secrets that can’t really be shared to the rest of Ever After, because it’s against the rules. They’re both Rebels and defy the norm. I could see them being in a relationship.

Faybelle x Briar: For this one, I’m not just talking about a relationship but in general. THESE TWO COULD’VE WENT SOMEWHERE! Imagine what would’ve happened if Faybelle was introduced in Thronecoming, and introduced earlier. These two are basically the inverse of the Apple and Raven dynamic, it could’ve been that and the fact that according to Faybelle they’re frenemies, they were wasted potential in my opinion. Heck, Faybelle was wasted potential and this is coming from a Maleficent fan, but these two could’ve went somewhere.

Darling x Chase: These two also had potential for me. In Way too Wonderland, they had good playful interactions with each other as the White Knight and the Red Knight. They’re color schemes compliment each other with Darling’s light blue and white/silver and Chase’ red and black color scheme. They’re also polar opposites where Chase enforces rules while Darling breaks rules (in a sense). I wish Chase got to go to Ever After High along with Courtly, I would’ve loved to see them as sparing partners. But I could see them as equal partners.

I Love Them

Ashlynn x Hunter: I loved their development throughout the franchise, from the books to the cartoon. They were pretty much the first couple to be a Royal x Rebel based couple. I like how it was developed but the only downside is that separately Hunter and Ashlynn aren’t that developed as characters after the True Hearts Day special, they’re just about each other.

Alistair x Bunny: I like them as a couple. Sure they may be generic but I really like their relationship. I also like them in general as character and (like most of the characters in this show) I wish they got more development aside from having crushes on each other.

OTP

Daring X Rosabella: Epic Winter made me FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS SHIP! For one, I loved the Daring twist that he ended up being The Beast because looking at overall, it made perfect sense. From Daring’s personality, to him being obsessed with mirrors, I didn’t see it during the shows runtime, but I liked how it was executed mainly on Daring’s part. Rosabella helped change Daring to be selfless rather than selfish and only care about himself and through that journey he genuinely fell in love with her. I really like this relationship and would’ve like to see where it went in the future.

Dexter X Raven: I love Dexter and Raven together. I loved the relationship that they have in the books and the show. Dexter and Raven honestly had more interaction in the books, and according to Raven was her first friend who was a Royal. He loved how Raven stood up for herself in not wanting to follow her destiny (It’s actually worse in the book than the show) but they a genuine good friendship in the books that makes their relationship in show worth it. It also helps that Dexter, had a crush on Raven since before the start of the series in the Shannon Hale books. But I would’ve liked to see their relationship if the series went forward.

it’s funny because i’ve never been the biggest fan of briar even though i’m a lot like her? so maybe i don’t like my insecurities being shown by her ahhhh but i love love love her character development (in some ways) and overall aesthetic so much! she’s really actually cool though

i have a lot lol. briar x hopper, briar x hopper x cupid, briar x faybelle (probably most important) and also, for added angst: briar having a crush on apple that is completely unrequited (and yes that counts as a ship come one)

i’m tempted to say daring charming for no real reason??? it would just be funny to see them interact heh

my unpopular opinion about this character

well like i said i actually don’t stan her as much as the rest of the fandom (I AM SO SORRY I FEEL TERRIBLE RIGHT NOW /gen) but i’m not sure i have any unpopular opinions about her. except (and OKAY THIS ONE’S CONTROVERSIAL)…her development might have been for plot convenience,,,think about it. (I AM SO SORRY OKAY I LIKE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT REALLY I DO IT’S JUST-)

one thing i wish would happen with this character in canon

wish wish wish we could have seen her not want to hurt faybelle and vice versa. in my opinion that would have been a better route to her character development. also wish we could have seen her interact with her cousin, rosabella, because their dynamic is totally opposite and would have been hilarious!!!

why am i even posting this i’m going to get attacked. remember guys: i’m actually a lot like briar irl so the reason i can see her flaws so much is because i kinda relate to her!! and i actually do think she was an important character i just think her development could have been brought about in a different way :D

My personal Ever After High ships

No one asked but I’m doing this anyway. Here are my own EA ships. Maybe I’ll make a separate page or something on my tumblr to list them (idk the lingo here haha). I’ll include my anti-ships at the bottom because there are some I’m personally really opposed to. 

In no particular order:

SHIPS

Darling Charming x Holly O’Hair - This is probably my one of my all-time favorites. Was there sufficient interaction in the show? Hell no, they spoke to each other one (1) time on camera. But they’re perfect for each other, I swear. Darling is a knight in shining armor, and Holly has always dreamed of the whole Prince Charming thing or whatever. She writes fanfiction about it, for chrissakes. Darling can be that for her. Plus, I’ve always pictured Holly as liking girls (no matter what she said in Thronecoming lol). Appling/Dapple is nice, but I think Darling can do better than Apple.

Raven Queen x Dexter Charming - One of the only canon ships, but a good one nonetheless. I really like them together. I forgot which post spelled it out on here, but someone else said that Dexter serves as the privileged, down-to-earth guy who feels misunderstood by his family, while Raven is the rebellious girl from the “wrong side of the tracks”. Even though Raven is still wealthy as the daughter of a king and queen, she’s still an outcast. I love that kind of pairing! Dex is one of the only non-Rebels to treat Raven like a real person. Raven teaches Dex how to color outside of the lines. I think they’re a good match for each other.

Lizzie Hearts x Daring Charming - No, I will not be swayed on this. Lizzie and Daring were the OG ship and another CANON pairing. Let’s dissect: Daring is dared by his friends to get a date with her. She has high standards (as she should) and doesn’t give him the time of day. He has to prove himself to her, not use cheap tricks to get her attention. After he takes her on an adventure (getting her out of her comfort zone), she warms up to him. Then she asks him to keep their date a secret, and he does! He takes the dare’s consequence on the chin to protect her reputation. This is honestly out of character for him, which is why I’m hyping up this otherwise bare-minimum act. This friendship continues into the books, as they interact a lot in A Wonderlandiful World. Lizzie and Daring complement each other, too: she’s a responsible, dedicated princess who never loses sight of what’s important. He’s a fun-loving prince who revels in public admiration. Lizzie can teach him to be more responsible while Daring can teach her to relax and have fun.

Ashlynn Ella x Hunter Huntsman - Not much needs to be said. Ashlynn has a vegan cheerleader significant other and you don’t. Jealous? I know I am.

Kitty Cheshire x Ramona Badwolf - She was a werecat, she was a werewolf.  Can I make it any more obvious? They’re both snarky and mischievous. Plus, Kitty would have a chance to redeem herself after almost outing Cerise and her family.

Briar Beauty x Hopper Croakington II - I’m so sorry for all the straight ships :( I promise the sequel to The End of Ever After will NOT be as straight as EAH. Anyway, Briar and Hopper have so much potential. You can tell that Briar has warmed up to him throughout the series. First it was her turning him down and being grossed out by his frogginess. Then she enlists his help with the True Hearts Day dance (though I have a hunch that this was all thanks to Cupid). Then she tolerates his existence at Spring Fairest (and even saves him from being blown away on the Fairest Wheel). Then she enlists his help again with the recreation spell in Epic Winter. She likes him, people! I think Hopper is a really nice guy and a perfect love interest for Briar, who deserves everything in the world.

Duchess Swan x Sparrow Hood - I will die on this hill. They’re together in the *show* and I can prove it. After they “break up” in True Hearts Day (they were just friends then), you see them in the background together all the time. In Epic Winter, they were together when they were spying on Grimm. Why do they spend so much time together? Are they just friends? Or is there something going on between them? I think the second is much more likely. I love their dynamic and wish it was explored more in the show. Also, someone has pointed out that Sparrow’s necklace is the same shape as Duchess’s earrings. This can’t be a coincidence.

Chase Redford x Justine Dancer - I’ll admit it, this ship came out of nowhere for me. It is entirely based on the fact that I think they’d look good together. Ramona/Justine shippers are entirely valid.

Jillian Beanstalk x Lilly-Bo Peep - My final wlw relationship, unfortunately. I feel like Lilly-Bo is a girl who wants to go on adventures, but can’t because of her needy sheep. Seriously, those animals are constantly crying for her attention. Jillian is freewheeling and can help Lilly-Bo chase her dreams.

Alistair Wonderland x Bunny Blanc - The two most boring Wonderlandians deserve each other. Mattel screwed ‘em up badly. Chase/Alistair shippers are valid as well b/c I don’t even know with these two. I guess I like that they’re such close friends? And that they can’t tell that the other person has a crush on them? Who knows.

Nina Thumbell x Humphrey Dumpty - This is another wtf ship. I headcannon these two as being a year younger than the main EAH characters, and I think they’d be cute together, so it’s a ship. No questions please.

I cringe every time I watch Epic Winter because the show pretended like Daring and Lizzie weren’t romantically involved. There’s nothing wrong with the ship inherently, but I much prefer Daring being the Beast but not in love with Rosabella.

Cerise Hood x Daring Charming - Same reasonings as above, but there’s even less material to refer to with this ship (in my opinion).

Duchess Swan x Poppy O’Hair - Why.

All other ships are fine to me, even if I don’t agree with them myself. And of course, you’re free to ship whomever you like. These are just my preferences.

Summary:  10 years after her graduation from Ever After High, Cerise Hood bumps into Darling Charming in a coffee shop.

Author’s message:  I hope you enjoy this fanfiction! I found it cute and enjoyable to write so I'm praying you'll like reading it hahaha.

Cerise sipped her china coffee cup. The smell of coffee beans hung in the air. The sound of bustling people going about their everyday jobs made her wolf ears prick with anticipation. She grasped her burgundy hood and pulled it even further over the top of her head, a wispy lock of silver and brown hair escaping.

Suddenly, someone caught Cerise’s eye. A familiar sight of platinum and aqua blue hair - and metallic silver accessories. It was Darling Charming. The door to the coffee shop opened, hitting the bell above the door. As it rang out softly, Darling abruptly noticed her old friend perched on a soft brick red sofa holding her now empty coffee cup, lingering with the scent of cappuccino. She smiled in a friendly manner, and lowered herself next to Cerise.

“Long time no see!” Darling laughed.

“Right back at you!” Cerise agreed. “Ten years in fact!” She added, once she’d realised how much time had passed between her graduation from Ever After High and the present day. Since the time she’d parted ways with her friends, ready to begin their fairy tales once and for all.

“Wow, has it really been that long?” Darling gasped, holding a dainty yet strong, gentle yet callused hand to her mouth.  

“How have you been?” Cerise asked, setting down her coffee cup on the table in front of her.

“I’ve been good.” Darling began to tell the tale of her post-fairytale life. She had been Apple White’s saviour in the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. After their tale had finished, she and Apple decided to remain close friends, and as she went on to reign the kingdom, Darling decided to return to Ever After High to assist with weaponry classes. “I’ve got a few children to my name nowadays, too.” She added, “my youngest Rosemary studies at the academy. Fantastic with her weapons, that one. Especially her throwing knives although she originally trained with a sword.”

“I bet you’re proud!” Cerise smiled.

“Of course!” Darling proclaimed. “So what about you, what have you been up to since we last met?”

“Not too much.” Cerise began. She went on to tell her own tale. Admittedly, she didn’t think her story to be nearly as grand as Darling’s, but she told it with pride nonetheless. Although being a self proclaimed ‘rebel’ in a Ever After High, Cerise decided to go through with her story regardless. After her tale finished, she remained good friends with Hunter Huntsman, the hero in the story, even to this day. “That’s about it!” Cerise laughed, pulling on her hood even more. Although her story had since ended, she continued to wear her signature hood, and on some days she wore a hoodie. Anything to hide her in wolf ears, of which she was still self conscious.  

“How is your brother Daring…?” Cerise asked before she even realised what she had said. Her cheeks turned slightly pinker.

“He’s fine, thanks for asking!” Darling laughed. “You know, it’s funny.”

“What?” Cerise questioned, intrigued.

“He wonders about you still after all these years.” Darling informed. “I mean, I don’t think in a romantic way, but I’m pretty sure he’s still interested in some form of friendship with you.”

Cerise looked somewhat disappointed. “Of course, is he still married to Rosabella?”  

Darling nodded. Her brother had the part of the Beast in Beauty and the Beast after he had graduated from Ever After High. Rosabella Beauty was, of course, the beauty. She and Daring were destined to end up together, and that’s just what happened. A cliqué ‘happily ever after’. Numerous years later, the couple were still married happily. “Of course I’d always be interested if Daring wanted to reconnect!” Cerise added happily. Although a romantic relationship between them was most likely not an option at this point, she was happy to become his friend again, just like old times.

“Okay, well, I’d better be going! I actually only came in here for a brief catch up.” Darling laughed.

“Ah, so soon?” Cerise sighed.

“Yeah, I shouldn’t really leave it too long. Rosemary is counting on me to pick her up from her fencing competition soon.”

“Wow, fencing! Is she good?” Cerise was intrigued, and also slightly nostalgic. She had watched fencing competitions in the grounds of Ever After High some years ago. She suddenly wished she could be back in the past, to experience everything once again. The sights, the smells, the experiences.

“Of course! She’s a Charming after all,” Darling explained with a wink.

“Did you train her in fencing?” Cerise asked.

“No, she picked up those skills a few years ago with her sword training. Like I said, she works best with knives, but this is something she does on the side. I like her doing it, it shows her variety and ability to work with different weapons.” Darling explained.  

“Like you?” Cerise giggled.

“I guess! I have an aptitude for different weapons, of course.” Darling said with her fists on her hips in a proud stance. Darling, along with her two brothers, were very proud of their family name, as well as themselves and their own skills. Her twin brother Dexter had developed a bigger pride in his adult years than what he had in his teenage years.  

“I’ll tell you what,” Darling started, reaching for her pocket. She pulled out a small piece of crumpled paper and a black ballpoint pen. She scribbled something on the paper, and placed the pen back in her pocket. “Here’s my number, get in touch! We’ll arrange a time and place to have a proper reunion. One where I don’t have to leave so abruptly. I’ll even bring my brothers!” She laughed.  

“That sounds good! I’ll be in touch, for sure.” Cerise added.

“Great! Well, I’ll be seeing you!” Darling waved as she smiled at Cerise.

“See you soon,” Cerise returned the wave and smiled back.  

Cerise watched Darling turn around and stroll towards the door. The familiar bell sound rung out once more as she exited the shop. Cerise sighed as she once again succumbed to the calmness of the store. The sounds of the pots, the people chatting, and of course, the smell of coffee filled the air once again as Cerise slowly began to notice once more her surroundings. She hoped that soon in the future she’d be able to meet once more with her old friends.

Rosabellas POV-

Rosabella sometimes wondered why she was in damsels in distressing class. Her story never really required her to a damsel, so why was it mandatory that she take it?

Because she’s a princess?

She wanted to laugh at whoever made that rule, but any sign of unladylike behavior would have her getting into trouble with her teacher.

So here she sat next to her friend Darling Charming as their teacher explained their next assignment.

“Ladies for your next assignment, you will have to sit in perfect poise, grace, beauty and elegance! For one hour until your prince comes to save you.”

Rosabella mouth dropped to the ground her eyes wondering over to an overly excited Apple who was jumping in joy.

But she wondered, would it be Daring who ‘saved’ her? He was her destined prince and they had been dating for 5 months now.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Darling chuckled at her words her hand patting her shoulder. “This isn’t even the worst. One time we had to be locked up in a tower for a day and wait for our prince’s to come.”

Rosabella made a face at that, one which had their teacher give an ever so graceful cough in her direction.

“I know that you little doves are just so excited. So make sure to get your beauty sleep tonight as the assignment starts 9am tomorrow.”

The bell rang and each princess made their way outside the classroom, curtsying to the teacher before leaving.

As soon as Rosabella stepped foot outside the classroom she took a big gulp of air letting her lungs breath in air rather than perfume.

She thought about starting a riot in the name of princess class requirements, so that they had a choice as to what class was mandatory but against all those in favor of no choice she would be out numbered.

Heading straight for the library, Rosabella pulled her mirrorphone out as Blondies mirrorcast aired.

“Here we just have it! The princes of Ever After have been given a new assignment! They have to rescue their damsel from a fire breathing dragon! Now that sounds just right to me!”

Wait… did Blondie just say fire breathing dragon? Rosabella eyes widened, replaying the clip to make sure she wasn’t hearing things but yup there she had it. A fire breathing dragon, how nice of their teacher not to mention it.

Slumping forward in her seat in the library Rosabella groaned. Why couldn’t she just drop the class?

Sighing Rosabella pulled out her favorite book from her bag, opening it to where she left off. Before she knew it the bell rang as an indication for lunch and Rosabella made her way to the castlteria.

The next morning Rosabella awoke to a knocking at her dorms door. She went to get up but noticed that Darling had already gone to open it.

“Oh Apple! What are you doing here?” She heard the sing-song giggle of the said girl as she answered “sweetie we have to be at the classroom an hour early.”

Darling made a noise of recognition as Rosabella groaned in her pillow. Closing the door her roommate went into the bathroom as she shouted over her shoulder of not taking to long.

In the meantime, she made her bed and chose her clothes for the day before getting a ping from her mirrorphone.

As she went to open it her face flushed a deep shade of pink at Darings text.

‘Good morning sweetheart

I hope you slept well, my sweetheart’

Rosabella rolled her eyes quickly replying, at the sound of her roommates footsteps she quickly closed her phone.

Getting changed, Rosabella and Darling made their way out of their dorm into the classroom where they found their teacher and the majority of princesses waiting.

“Lovely! Now that we’re all here I can get started with explaining the rules. One the princes will not show up before one hour. You all have to be perfect I’ve asked Blondie to broadcast so you have to be extra perfect-“

The teachers voice droned out in the background as Rosabella thought of ways she could entertain herself while being stuck as a damsel.

“And finally if I see a glimmer of imperfection you fail the assignment.” Many girls started to protest but the teacher only raised her hand.

“Now shall we proceed to the location picking.” The teacher had put in a glass bowl slips of paper where the location they had to be damsels at was written.

As Rosabella picked out a paper she and Darling looked at each other “ready?” Rosabella shook her head but still opened.

‘Entrance of a dragon’s layer’

She blinked once then twice, turning the paper over to see if was some mistake but no. She got the dragons layer of all things.

“You don’t look happy.” Rosabella looked up at Darling giving her a sarcastic smile “no really? I couldn’t have guessed.”

Darling gave her a sheepish look before asking “so what is it.” She just gave her slip while Darling gave her own.

‘Troll cave’

At least hers wouldn’t smell bad Rosabella thought as she handed the slip back to Darling. The said girl only giving her a regretful smile as the teacher started to speak again.

“Now I’ve asked Baba Yaga to teleport you all to your assigned places. So, good luck.”

Rosabella furrowed her brows looking at the time that read ‘8:30’ “but it’s still 8-.” She was cut of by the feeling of being knocked over by a powerful gust of wind.

Feeling as if the air had just gotten much thinner, Rosabella opened her eyes and gasped as she stood inside a dark layer covered in shiny things.

With a… horrifyingly big dragon starting to awake. Knowing that she was completely alone for the next hour and half Rosabella collected herself.

She carefully made her way to the entrance of the layer attempting to walk out before a sort of force knocked her back.

She attempted to press her hands against the seemingly open entrance but again she was knocked back.

Seeing as the dragon was still sleeping Rosabella found a spot of somewhat smooth rock and sat down.

She felt embarrassed that the only thing she could was sit and… wait. But it wasn’t exactly her fault that the entrance seemed sealed shut.

Remembering her teachers words, Rosabella sat up her posture straight as steel and her hands coming to rest delicately on her lap.

An other wave of embarrassment came over her, but she wasn’t the one to get a bad grade in any class. So if she had to become the perfect damsel, so be it.

Rosabella imagined how Apple would pose, how she would talk once her prince came and rescued her.

She couldn’t do much more thinking as only a few seconds later she felt the layer shake with the sound of the dragons yawning.

Her heart fell to the pit of her stomach, she tried to take deep breaths but with the feeling of the ground shaking with the dragons footsteps…

It seemed impossible.

Rosabella only hoped that the guy coming to save her wasn’t like Hopper (no offense to him though) as he would likely end up turning into a frog kabob.

So Rosabella thought back to all those months on damsel class and put a smile on her face. Even tho the dragon seemed to be a breath away.

Darings POV-

even tho Darings destiny wasn’t to be Apples prince anymore he was still a Charming and all Charmings had to attend heroics class.

So here he was at 9:00am standing next to his brother as his teacher explained the assignment to the class.

“For today’s assignment we have paired up with the damsels in distressing class.”

Daring perked up, not because he was interested but because he knew his Rosabella took that class.

“The assignment is simply and easy. You have to save your princess from a fire breathing dragon. But due to the ladies assignment you can’t go until an hour has passed. Something about sitting with poise for an hour.”

Daring imagined Rosabella sitting and waiting like a damsel and chuckled to himself. As the class started to get rowdy the teacher cleared his throat.

“Those of you who have a destined princess will be paired up with her. Those who don’t know come up and pick a name from the bowl.”

Daring patted Dexter on the back as his brother walked up to the bowl and picked a name out.

“So who is it?” Dexter looked at him for second before sighing “Ashlynn.” Daring didn’t understand why that was such a bad thing. Out of all the princesses Ashlynn was one of them who knew how to play the perfect princess well.

“What’s the problem with that?” Dexter shrugged as he put the slip in his pocket “you know how mum and dad are about my destiny they have it in their heads that she’s my princess. And this will only add fuel to the fire.”

Daring was about to comfort him when something… displeasing reached his ears. He really had to thank that beast hearing at times like this.

“I got Rosabella!” Hopper showed his paper to Sparrow who was walking by, even tho he really didn’t seem to care.

But Daring cared, he cared a lot considering that Rosabella was his princess. She was his destined and his girlfriend.

“Hopper.” He didn’t care if his voice had a growl to it as he approached Hopper slowly as if he was his prey.

“Oh hey Daring! I got Rosabella, who did you get.” The poor guy just didn’t seem to get it, did he? It’s ok Daring would make him see.

“You see Hopper that’s the problem. Rosabella is my princess, my destined. So you can’t be her prince.” Sensing the rising tension Dexter went of and called their teacher before it got worse.

“Well… that’s to bad. I got her fair and square why can’t you go with Apple.” Something was triggered inside Darings mind, without thinking he went to lunge before he was held back.

“Hopper.” The teacher swiftly came over taking the slip form him “it seems there was a mistake. Like I said, if a princess already has a destined she would be paired up with them. Daring is Rosabellas destined.”

Hopper started to whine about fairness before the teacher threatened to fail him “you’ll be paired up with Lizzie Hearts. I don’t care if you’re unhappy about that.”

Hopper suddenly turned into his frog and started to spew hate poetry as Dexter dragged Daring away.

“I think Lizzie will be saving him don’t you think?” Dexter tried to lighten the mood but Daring wasn’t listening.

He was to focused with looking at the clock that would soon strike 10:00am. If Hopper thought that he’d do a better job job at saving his Rosabella then Daring would just have to prove him wrong.

“Alright just before you guys are teleported I’ll call out the location of your princess. Darling- troll cave, Apple- tower, Briar- dungeon, Ashlynn- swamp, Lizzie-.”

Daring droned out only listening when his princess was called out. “Rosabella- dragons layer.” Daring paused for a second as the words sunk in.

He knew that Rosabella was an expert in anything beast related but dragons were no joke. For all he knew she was a kabob by now, just then the clock struck 10.

Daring felt a gust of wind knock him over before he opened his eyes. In front him was a massive cave, with piles of rocks lining every corner he could see.

Taking his sword out he inspected the grounds for a different entrance before a deafening roar rang about.

Thanks to his beast hearing he also heard the shriek of Rosabella. Being on edge now that he thought she was injured he quickly made his way inside.

Sword in one hand shield in the other, running in he soon saw the horrifically large dragon. Its eyes were wild and its teeth bared, to the corner he saw his Rosabella crouched down on a rock.

Raising his sword he yelled at the dragon slashing at its face as it tried to bite him. From the side he heard Rosabella gasp and move behind a rock column as the dragon suddenly threw a fire ball at him.

He raised his shield swiftly, slowly moving in Rosabella direction to come get her behind his back.

But he was momentarily caught of guard when the dragon swiped at him with its tail. He jumped back, bringing his sword down as he pierced the dragons tails.

It let out an angry roar and threw an even bigger fire ball at him. With the sheer force of the blast Daring stumbled to one knee, keeping his shield raised and his eyes trained on a horrified Rosabella.

Getting back up he quickly side stepped the dragon, getting behind its large body he was about to slash at it when it suddenly jerked in Rosabellas direction.

Looking over at her he saw that she had thrown a rather large rock directly in its eye. “Rule number 95 of damsels in distress! Always keep the element of surprise!”

While that may have stunned the dragon for a second it now had Rosabella in its sight as the target. Something which Daring was not going to allow.

Clanging his sword against his shield the dragon swiftly turned in his direction, taking a deep breath he ran forward sword out as the dragon leaned down ready blast him to smithereens.

But he saw an opening as the dragon had its neck too far open on the left side. Swinging his sword he managed to make a gash to the dragons neck.

It roared in pain and stumbled to the side, seeing the opportunity Daring ran past. He reached Rosabella in a matter of seconds before the dragon started to recover.

“Rosabella! Are you ok?” She couldn’t answer him as the dragons tail smashed on the rock Rosabella was hiding behind.

She stumbled back and Daring was knocked away. He felt his head spin for a second but the sound of a terrified scream from Rosabella had him on his feet in seconds.

Before him he found the dragon creeping up on his Rosabella who had fallen to the ground and was covering her head with her arms in a futile attempt to cover herself.

Without thinking Daring jumped on the dragons tail, the dragon spun around trying to reach him as he held on hoping that it could burn itself by throwing a fire blast.

And just as he hoped the dragon opened its mouth and Daring counted to ten before jumping of just as the dragon burnt its own tail.

Grabbing his sword and shield he ran even quicker than before to Rosabella. He took her waist in his arm and pulled her behind him as he walked backwards cautiously.

He kept an eye on the wailing dragon as he made sure to keep his hold on Rosabella before they made it out the cave.

Rosabellas POV-

As Daring pulled her out of the cave Rosabella remembered that this was an filmed assignment and put on her best damsel act.

Which she wasn’t going to admit was pretty real considering she was really scared a few moments ago.

“Oh my hero! My savior, you slayed the beast so bravely. I think you deserve a princesses kiss.”

Daring looked at her in confusion for a second before realization filled his eyes and he put on that award winning smile.

Winking he picked her up bridal style, “my fair lady do not worry your Prince Charming will always be there.”

Rosabella somewhat faked and somewhat swooned in real life as she fanned herself and put a hand to her forehead.

Suddenly they both felt a gust of wind hit them and when they opened their eyes they were back at school in front of their teachers.

Rosabellas teacher was fanning herself and swooning as she said “A+ Rosabella! What a performance and… such heroism!”

Daring flashed the teacher his iconic smile and she fainted backwards into the arms of his teacher. “Yes. Well done Daring A+ as well.”

Daring thanked his teacher and they both watched as he dragged the other away. Once the two teachers were out of sight Rosabella jumped out of Darings arms.

“So my hero. What reward do you want.” He raised a brow crossing his arms “what do you mean?” Rosabella sighed pretending to wonder as she approached him.

“Oh I don’t know what ever you want.” She winked as she palmed his hardening cock before walking away.
