I haven’t played this stupid game in 6 months. This is a sequel to Prospects, this time featuring Bailey.
Agreement
The envelope shook in your hand. “This should suffice.”
Bailey took it from you, not bothering to meet your eyes as she slit the top and took the slip inside. Whitney, dressed for the ride ahead— or fight; whatever came first— in his sweats and t-shirt, stood with his back to the door. Despite your assurance, he had insisted on sitting in on this final transaction as if the mountain of cash you had worked yourself ragged to obtain would not be enough to settle the score, as if your being there were not dependent solely on your value as a worker, as if Bailey— who now looked up at you over the check between her fingers and her half-rimmed glasses— would care beyond that if you were gone.
The ground swayed beneath your feet.
Bailey leaned back in her chair, gesturing to Whitney with the check. “This was your idea?”
You could not bring yourself to look back at him, but you could imagine his expression. It was the same as when you had when you had met Briar and Avery a few days before; cool, unflinching, as though you were an item at a pawn shop he was trying to get a good price on. You supposed you were, in a sense. “Yes.”
Bailey nodded slowly, taking in your figure, your stance. You squirmed under her gaze. “And the child’s yours, I take it?”
“Yes.”
She considered as much. “You know,” she mused, “your… what would the word be? Fucktoy?”
He scoffed. “For our purposes, property.”
“Oh, hardly.” She leaned her elbows on the desk, fingers lacing together under her chin. “Not officially at least, not until our terms are settled.”
“What terms are there to settle?” You picked at your cuticles, heart pounding in your throat. “Is that not how much—“
“That’s how much my best earner was worth before.” Her smile was sweet like cough syrup, sharp like whiskey. “I’m a businesswoman you understand; it would hardly make much sense for me to part with my greatest revenue stream for its raw material costs.”
You looked back at Whitney. He kept his eyes trained on the woman in front of you. “And how much would it take for you to part ways with your charge?”
She sighed in mock contemplation. “Oh, I don’t know.” She sucked her teeth. “Another fifty percent ought to do it.”
The words echoed in your ears. You swallowed back panic as you went back to staring at the floor.
“Fifty?” His sneer was audible. “The fuck you take me for?”
“Someone desperate.” She gestured to you. “Someone willing to take when they can get and leave.”
“A bitch, you mean.”
“So long as we’re being frank.”
“You—“
“Do you know how much that child is worth?” You shut your eyes as you felt her own take you in. “Do you know what sort of market you could appeal to with a matching set?”
You heard a rustling of cloth behind you. Whitney’s voice was as cheerful and bright as you had ever heard it. “So long as we’re considering the lives of people that matter,” he smiled, “I’m curious; how much is your life worth?”
There was a pause, a laugh from Bailey. “That bitch,” she sighed. “First that file—“
“This actually isn’t Laundry’s, surprisingly enough.” You heard the clinking of metal parts as he gestured to you. “Friend of a friend who lives in the country; I promised him the deed to this shithole if your position found itself empty.”
Despite yourself, you turned to face him. He held the pistol in his hand with the confidence of a man unfazed by its weight. In the back of your mind, you wondered if he would be tried if he went through with it, whether the cops would come or care or whether they would write it off as the result of one of Bailey’s “ungrateful brats”. You could not for the life of you decide which would be preferable.
“So,” he continued, finger twitching, eyes shining, “I think it best if we tried renegotiating terms.” He gestured to you. “Either you take the money and I take your cash cow off your hands—“ He steadied his aim, “— or I redecorate your office with your insides and you get to find out whether the contents of that envelope are worth shit in hell.”
You cast your gaze back towards her. Bailey looked between the two of you, lips pursed. “You’re more desperate than I thought.” She pushed her glasses up her nose and reached into her shirt pocket. “Let me give you some advice, kid.”
You shut your eyes again at the click of the safety. “Hands where I can see ‘em.”
She pulled out a carton of cigarettes, tapping one out and sticking it between her lips. “He isn’t a better person than I am, you know.” She took a lighter off her desk. “He’s not going to take better care of you than I am, isn’t going to wish you off to some fairy tale land where you’ll never know hardship; if anything, he’s going to fuck you over harder than I do.” She lit it, took a drag, smiled, exhaled.
“You fucking—“
“And you.” She pointed the cigarette at him. “Whitney, yeah? You think your life’s going to get better by being a father?” She leaned her head on her free hand. “I’ve been stuck with this job for thirty years now; the only thing that thing—“ she waved the cigarette in your belly’s general direction, “— is good for is an accessory to the walking ATM it’s stuck in.”
You could hear his voice shake; with what, you could not tell. “So help me God if you say one more thing about my fucking kid—“
“Let me say my piece.” She stood up, taking another drag and blowing it in your face. “If I were you,” she sighed, “I’d see if Harper couldn’t make an exception to get that thing out of you while it’s not breathing. Short of that, I’d ship it here.” She leaned forward, resting her hand on the surface of her desk. “But if I ever find your brat at my doorstep,” she promised, voice lowering, “if I ever see you or that thing here again, I’ll make your time here look like a stay at the Ritz-fucking-Carlton.” She stuck the cigarette back between her teeth, tilting your head up to look her in the eye. The resemblance between her and Whitney was apparent; you wondered if that was just what the eyes of monsters looked like. “I will make your child pay for however much you would have made me twofold, and I will sell their body— whole or piecemeal— to any dumb fuck who asks for what I’m sure will be a pretty young thing like them. Do you understand me?”
You could not breathe.
Her grip on your jaw tightened. “Are you deaf?” She brought you closer, and you whimpered at the sensation. “I asked you a question. Do you understand me or don’t you?”
You shut your eyes as her nails dug into your skin. You dug your own into your palm as you forced yourself to nod.
She kept you there a moment— for what, you did not know— before pressing a kiss to your forehead. Your eyes shot open, and you swallowed back tears— of relief, of sadness, of panic— as she released you, collapsing to your knees and gasping for air. “Good.” She took the check, slipping it into her pocket before sitting back down. “Leave before I change my mind.”
You pulled yourself to your feet, practically tripping over yourself to cling to Whitney. He glanced down at you, letting you bury your face into his shoulder as he took one last look at your former guardian. Wordlessly, he pulled the two of you out into the hallway, past the children gathered by the door, past the garden and Robin and the stairs and the threshold and finally, with a smile of untempered relief and satisfaction, across the street, into the truck parked there, and away from that miserable town, and as you watched the buildings you had come to know as parts of your home flew past, as you watched people you recognized from school rush into the forest and students— like you, you registered vaguely, desperate for money, for purpose, for anything— lean against street corners, you wondered if this would be any better, if this was more desirable, if this was emancipation or a different, crueler kind of ownership.
You mumbled a goodbye to the bus stop as it passed. Only then did the tears really start.

TAG GAME TUESDAY
(6 days late)
It’s Sunday, which makes me a measly 6 days late. I'm getting (marginally) better. Tagged by the wonderful @energievie @michellemisfit @juliakayyy @francesrose3
name: Moonlight is good for the moment.
age: 40's
Favourite Colour: Black, followed by hot pink
Beverage of choice: water (favored or plain), coffee (almost always black), iced tea
do you have push notifications turned on for tumblr? yes, one of the few apps i have notifications on
opinion on fireworks? Omg, I adore them! The louder, the better.
favorite childhood toy? I actually still have it, though I don't use him anymore 'cause he's literally falling apart. It's a stuffed bunny whose very creative name is "Bunny." 🙈 He lives on the bottom shelf of my nightstand now, but I used to sleep with him all the way up until I moved from California to Boston for graduate school.
While in grad school, my ex-husband & I started divorce proceedings. Somewhere in the middle of it all, he sent me a package with some of my stuff from California. Inside the box was Bunny with a note that was something like, "I knew you'd appreciate having him back. He was the first thing I put in the box to make sure he fit. I added my favorite spiked bracelet around his neck so he could be a bad-ass rivet head."
And I cried for a long time 'cause he was a pain-in-the-ass husband, but he was legit by best friend at the time.
the store you shop at the most: Market Basket. (it’s a chain of supermarkets, the only place that sells my wife's cigs at a decent price. no, i'm not happy about the fact that she's the last smoker on earth. please don't give me shit about it.🫣)
favorite trope: hurt/comfort (which i'm not very good at writing), family dynamics (which i can write all day long)
an album with no skips: Ugh, it's all a certain someone's fault, but I can't get Pulp's "This is Hardcore" out of my head. In the US, it was released with "Like a Friend."
also, "And Out Come the Wolves" by Rancid
if you could play any instrument, what would you choose? I can play flute, though i'm WAY out of practice. i'd like to pick up alto sax (same fingerings as flute, mostly) or maybe drums.
Your biggest pet peeve: dude, don't get me started
Favourite time of day: nap time 😴💤
and finally, did you drink water today? Yes, though I'm probably due for a refill.

Rating Every NHL Arena - Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, CA
Tumblr media
Team: LA Kings Location: Los Angeles, California Opened: October 17, 1999 Capacity: 18,230
The first time I'd been to the Crypto.com Arena was for Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in January of 2019. Back then it was the Staples Center (and still will always be the Staples Center to me and everyone else who lives in Los Angeles) and I wasn't paying too much attention to the place. I was just happy to see Elton John.
The next time I'd made it out to the arena (by this time, I think it was being called Crypto.com Arena) was for my first hockey game and I saw the LA Kings vs the Chicago Blackhawks on March 24, 2022. I wasn't quite into hockey like I am now so I was there for vibes and because it was free. The company I work for has season tickets that they give to clients or the employees, and since my roommate and I work together and she's from Chicago and grew up supporting the Hawks, we went. The Hawks beat the Kings 4-3.
By the third time I made it out to Crypto.com Arena, it was for a hockey game that I was actually extremely excited for. The Pittsburgh Penguins vs the LA Kings aka finally getting to see Sidney Crosby.
I've now been to the Crypto.com Arena 4 times and here's what I've gathered:
Ticket prices range from $35-$1000+. The $1k+ tickets are glass seats with VIP parking and a bunch of other things that are included.
Here's what I've paid so far for what games, what seats, and with fees and such:
Kings v Penguins (11/9/23): $55.13 for Section 315, Row 6, Seat 9 Kings v Avalanche (12/3/23): $43.00 for Section 305, Row 3, Seat 1 Kings v Kraken (12/20/23): $165.25 for Section 113, Row 2, Seat 7 Kings v Blue Jackets (2/20/24): $31.85 for Section 304, Row 7, Seat 3 Kings v Kraken (4/3/24): $140.75 for Section 113, Row 2, Seat 7
Downtown LA is a nightmare- no matter the time or day. I've left my apartment with plenty of time and still ended up arriving after doors opened. I'm about 16 miles from the arena and it can take anywhere from 30 mins (no traffic) to an hour and a half (around rush hour). The area is a pain to navigate, as most downtown areas are with one-way streets and lanes that disappear and reappear as you go.
Parking is easy enough to find though once you get close to the arena and there are a few garages almost right across from the arena, but it'll cost ya around $40 or more. I know there are some surface lots around that might be cheaper but they're almost always cash only so keep that in mind. I'd recommend parking at LA Live or near the Regal at LA Live.
The area around the arena is nice though, with plenty of restaurants, sports bars, coffee shops and anything else you could think of. An ice skating rink even popped up over the holidays.
I'm a big fan of the staff at this arena. They're all very chill and easy to find and can help you with anything you might need, like directions or trying to find something, like lost and found. There is a no bag policy here though, not even clear ones. A wallet is about all you're going to be able to bring in. And their sign policy is very strict (11x17) so make sure you measure before bringing your sign asking for a puck.
This is a newer building, at least compared to the Honda Center, so there are escalators to get you from section to section. It felt like a luxury after only having stairs as an option over in Anaheim.
There are tons of food options inside the arena, with familiar places like a Blaze Pizza or a Wetzels Pretzels- even sushi. They also have those Amazon Markets where you can scan your card, walk in and grab what you want, and then leave. Prices are steep, as I've now to come to realize are standard in these arenas. $20+ for a Coke and a hot dog or a pretzel.
The main team store here felt quite small. It wasn't ever crowded when I'd made my way in there the few times that I have. A good selection of merch though and tons of jerseys. There was a smaller store in the upper level that had a small selection of things, which was nice if you missed the store on the main floor as it felt like it was kind of tucked away.
The bathrooms here were nice. The upper level bathrooms had stalls where there wasn't a gap between the door and the separator. Both Arielle and I were impressed with this on our trip.
As for seating and views, I've sat in the 100s and the 300s. I definitely enjoyed both and I think they have their time and place. I was in the 300s for the Pens game and again when I went back to November to see the Colorado Avalanche. I had a good view in both 305 (Avs) and 315 (Pens) and would sit in either again. The upper bowl is always going to give you that full view of the ice and you'll have a better capability to see full plays develop and not have to rely on the jumbotron.
I had what is almost considered a glass seat for the Seattle Kraken vs LA Kings game I went to in December. Section 113 is right across from the goal and since there's a curve, there's more leg room and the boards are spaced out just a bit further. Since it's not quite a glass seat, they don't charge as much for this ticket. I really enjoyed sitting here and since it was close to a face-off circle, I got to see a handful of face-offs right in front of me. I did find myself watching the jumbotron though when the action was happening down at the other side of the ice.
I will say, a big negative of going to this arena are the fans. I've had more bad interactions with Kings fans than good ones.
With all of that said, I do think I prefer making the trek down to Anaheim (44 miles) to see Ducks games rather than staying close to home and going to Kings games (16 miles), despite the Kings having a nicer arena- the parking and tickets are cheaper and the fans aren't quite as bad in Anaheim.
Rating: 8.5/10

HI HELLO HEY THERE MY FRIEND 8D 8D 8D *waves like is flagging down air traffic* For the FMK alternatives I would like, if I may, to request number 6 (go clothes shopping with, go to ikea with, go grocery shopping with) with beloveds Astala and Ilanlas, and Zevvo!
Thank you!! Hope you're having a lush day 8)
OH DONE!! This is very good, very good indeed!! Let's say I've lost my worldly belongings and that's why I need to do such an extensive bit of shopping to apice things up, shall we? Oh, the decision is clear as day.
... actually it's not.
clothes shopping with Astala. I'm tempted to take Zevran bc clothes shopping is a Chore(TM) and he'd make it very fun, but I think Astala (my darling girl) would get more out of it and we could go a bit crazy over the clothes. We'd haw and hem over the price together, but at the same time we'd have a blast with beautiful fabrics and patterns and cuts and laugh about the more ridiculous outfits stores try to sell. I will try to buy her something. Maybe a dress. Maybe a warm winter coat so she's comfortable. Maybe both. She'd try to refuse and I would insist for putting her through all the trouble in her story. And then we'd march down the street in our new clothes, proud as can be, and have some coffee. Well, she'd have coffee. I'll have tea. Or maybe we both get hot chocolate. And go to town on some cake. It's a (platonic) date!
Ikea with Ilanlas. He'd try to drag me through the exposition section into the place where they actually store the furniture they sell while I would want to look at all the cute made-up rooms that are totally impractical, but we'd enjoy the trip. He gets a plushie. I think he'd like it. The main good things about having Ilanlas come along is that he's very quick to make decisions where I'm not and he's very solution-oriented. Need a new chair? Here's three options. Which is more comfortable? Does it fit in your room? Is the price acceptable? Yes? Done. Let's go to the check-out. Nor but-what-ifs and i-don't-knows. We could also join forces to put the chair together. He's good at that and I'm also not bad. It'd be what the Germans call an Erfolgserlebnis.
go grocery shopping with Zevran. I really, really want to take Astala along as well because she loves food, but she'd get all shocked at the prices and put her hands to her head when I clean out the chocolate section. She'd get the necessities and make the magic happen by cooking. Zevran though; Zevran would be very good at letting me get stuff I like but also nudging me to try new stuff. A bit of a culinary adventure. Besides, Astala's well acquainted with the old "going to the market with friends to get stuff, browse and talk". For Zevran, I think, being able to go grocery shopping and just relax and have a look around would be more unusual. Don't ask me why. Maybe because he's not had that many friends to do this with (ouch). The Zevvo will also get some... what would he like? What wouldn't he like? Definitely some chocolate, definitely some regional specialty. He'd enjoy that as a specialty (apart from the fact that it's food and tastes good. I think he's quite receptive to the delicate and the special. Specialties are sadly still lost to Astala bc they're overriden by the big old excited squeal of having tasty food). And, you know what? Imma make them all dinner since we're at it. They deserve it for helping me with the shopping. If I'm making meat I'm not accepting criticism, Ilanlas >_>
Thank you very much for the ask!! This was fun to think about and a very welcome distraction (and a lovely chance to spoil these three rotten. Heck yeah!!) XD XD XD I hope you're having a great day yourself!! Take good care ^^
(Ask comes from this ask game)

dude omg i just had the weirdest thought but like what kinds of video games do you think the 424 + rigo would play?? bc i can see roach playing animal crossing ik that bug boy would make the cutest little village
i actually think they have a bunch of games that they play together like Minecraft, In Silence, Overwatch, COD (LMAO), Rainbow 6, Brawlhalla, Sons of the Forest-- def terraria!!
i think roach, rigo, and price would prefer more worldbuilding games. like i think roach goes hard with Civ 5 and shit yk?
generally they all like fps (and when price occasionally plays, he's not that good at it lmao) but there's always that time of the night where they don't feel like raging anymore so they'll play Minecraft or do their own thing
ghost will quietly play slime rancher and share his screen while everyone's falling asleep
reaper's really into that storage game Unpacking-- its weirdly comforting but she also really likes playing subnautica bc gaz has thalassaphobia (to a degree-- like really really big oceans he doesn't fuck with) and shes pretty much immune, so she'll just go to the edge of the map and scare him with the ghost leviathans LMAO. she also played through sub: below zero and will do little lets plays for the guys sometimes
i think rigo had a fucking massive fixation on animal crossing and gave them all headcanons and was totally part of the marshall black market trading thing back in 2020/2021, but calmed down and now just plays it casually
(sorry for the late post, acc. put it in drafts :()

Sorry to be inundating you with Fates stuff today (this is my first ask to you, but I mean, you're being flooded, so... sorry), but it really is kinda wild to see people arguing content levels in Fates vs 3H. Like, you can argue about the quality of the overall outcome (and why that is cuz I mean who knows, 3H could've had a tighter budget than Fates that forced them to reuse assets, idk), but Fates really put a lot into keeping things unique. There's maybe a handful of maps reused across all paths (and those that are are, well, pretty justified by it being the same location, like Birthright and Conquest Izumo - compare to how Felix and Sylvain share paralogue maps, or every non-CF post-TS story having the exact same location for their first four chapters), the stories diverge greatly across all routes (with maybe a handful of shared events with different contexts, like Kagero getting kidnapped by the Kotaro, which even then still happens at different times and play out slightly differently as a result on each route), and while neither of the other two routes wrap it up quite like how Revelation does, both end on a conclusive enough ending (you don't know everything, and it sucks Azura died, but you *did* deal with Anankos's agents and ended Nohr's ambitions of conquest that he was manipulating, so the threat is more or less dealt with). There's a lot to reasonably argue about whether the decision to split the routes is good from a "how businesses handle this sort of thing" perspective, but it'd be like arguing that FE11 and 12 are rip-offs because FE3 had both in one game - it may have been an iffy choice to split a very interconnected story into different games, but every Fates route was still the exact same in terms of level of content and told an overall full story within each route (with a number of levels comparable to prior Fire Emblems), its not like they cut it off after, say, 15 chapters and went "Oh well, the war is still ongoing and we didn't resolve everything fully here, please buy Revelation and you can see the end of this story."
I honestly wonder if some of it is just, like, Time making people forget what exactly was in Fates. If you didn't like it then I doubt you played it more than once (if at all), and the game came out like 7 years ago at this point (6 in the west). Content-wise Fates is probably the absolute densest FE game we have ever gotten. Each route is the same length as PoR. A singular route is the same amount of content as an entire FE game.
If someone came up to you and said "hey, I'll sell you PoR, RD, and Awakening for $80 you'd be like "fucking SCORE!"
From a pure business/marketing perspective, I do think it was a massive miss to sell Fates the way they did. Primarily because, well, obviously not everyone is going to think about this as logically as I have. People see three different games with one overarching title and their immediate reaction is "why should I pay $80 for something I should be getting for $40!"
I'll admit, when the game first came out I thought it was a scam too! It's only after a few years and seeing how Fates's content compares to most other games (and especially how it compared to 3H) that I realized, actually, it's not that bad. Because I'm not paying $80 for something that should be $40. I'm paying $80 for something that should be $120.
It probably would have been better to bundle them all together and charge a higher price, but that wouldn't have flown either. Because then you'd have people saying "why should this 3DS game cost $80 when the rest of them only cost $40???" the sticker shock would definitely put prospective buyers off. Especially if those prospective buyers are people who have never touched the series before and just see it on the shelf at their local game store.
I don't think there was ever really going to be a perfect way to get what the games were worth out of them without putting off some buyers, but the avenue they chose was probably a compromise made out of the desire to not put off prospective new to the series or casual buyers. Better to get them in the door, and then if they really like it they'll be willing to pay for the rest. And if they don't like it and don't buy the rest then hey, you still made the $40 sale.
I don't know if anyone remembers this, but I'm pretty sure thats why they staggered the release of Rev in the west by a few weeks even though it was fully completed and localized when BR and CQ came out (since it had to be, it was included on the 3-in-1 cart). To give people time to beat the first two, yes, but also to create time between the original release so people didn't get such sticker shock when picking up the first two.
Also, as a side note, I'm pretty sure most of 3H's budget went into the voice acting. Voice acting is not cheap, especially when you need to hire two full casts. Fates saved a ton by not having super extensive voice acting and by reusing many English actors for different characters (e.g. Roger Rose does Takumi, Niles, and Hisame, or Dave Stanbra does Xander, Kaze, Shura, Siegbert, Kilma, the Rainbow Sage, and Sumeragi).

Facebook Apologizes Over "Bullet Train" VR Demo At Right-wing Conference
Submarines are an interesting kind of invention. Originally serving a navy type of objective, now there also exist some submarines constructed for civilian use. No matter the aim, submarines are very interesting vessels. Imagine being able to submerge yourself underwater for a very very long time. To have the ability to invent a vessel that may maintain itself stable below the unknown depths of oceans and seas is such a unbelievable feat. To have this vessel contain many kinds of equipment, hold different varieties of individuals, and likewise store numerous kinds of weapons for fighting are good enough reasons to keep constructing them! That's why it's all the time fascinating to observe movies which have scenes happening inside a submarine. It is also a reimagining of what we humans may nonetheless invent and reinvent because the decades move. Perhaps it's also part of humankind's insatiable desire to explore unknown areas of the earth, the galaxy, or the universe, that we'll keep inventing mechanisms and autos for such functions.
For a real-world instance, try the SpyraTwo. The advanced water gun makes use of a USB-C rechargeable battery for its energy supply. Each set off pull puts out an exact amount of water, so there’s no have to guess how many pictures are left within the reservoir. Refilling requires a dip into a supply of water, but it’s performed robotically. All the work put into the distinctive mannequin might be seen in the asking price. Reservoir capability is an ever-current difficulty for water gun design. Putting too much on the water gun makes it awkward to hold, even for 2-handed models. The following best resolution is a backpack filled with water. A large enough backpack can add several instances the capacity, but that weight might be quite a bit for small our bodies. A single liter of water weighs over 2 pounds, and some backpacks can carry over three. Once you weigh forty lbs, adding 6 is significant.
Tumblr media
If that’s a dealbreaker for you, consider Nerf’s Super Soaker Barrage Soaker instead. Its enormous 84-ounce capacity made it too unwieldy for kids, so we didn’t test it as a contender in our information to water guns. But for adults who want most firing energy and vary with out having to refill on a regular basis, it’s a fantastic match. Its marketed range of 38 ft is 3 feet longer than that of our prime decide, the Super Soaker Squall Surge. In our assessments of different Super Soaker fashions, the advertised range and the actual-world outcomes had been constantly within a number of toes of each other, so we're assured that the Barrage Soaker is one of the farthest-capturing pump-to-pressurize water guns obtainable. It also has a novel characteristic that allows you to pick from three completely different firing modes. It's best to choose the distance mode for access to the gun’s full range, but the Scatter and Flood modes are great for drenching close-up targets. The Wirecutter’s editors answer reader questions all the time (a lot more than as soon as per week). Published questions are edited for area and readability.
Water is then drawn into the gun through the nose. You possibly can refill it quickly this manner, so long as you have got a physique of water obtainable. You'll battle using a faucet or a hose. Once stuffed, you'll additionally need to recollect to keep the water gun upright, as we discovered it leaks when pointing downwards. See our skilled picks of one of the best board games. Rather than having a cap with a small opening like most different water guns, this one has a wide door on the back that you simply pop open, making it very straightforward to refill. It's pretty speedy when you use a faucet, but when you've got got a physique of water you'll be able to dunk this X-Shot in and it's going to refill in as little as one or two seconds. You also won't must refill all of it that usually. We managed to get 43 pictures out of it earlier than needing to top up the water supply, which is the very best variety of photographs of all the water guns we examined.
Tumblr media
We stuffed each water gun, pumped it up to full energy if required, and then fired them a number of times from a number of totally different angles. We then used a trundle wheel to measure the furthest distance every water gun managed to shoot. We measured the capability of each water gun by filling the water tank as much as most after which pouring it out right into a container on a set of scales that informed us what number of millilitres of water were inside. Then we refilled every gun and counted what number of instances you would fireplace it earlier than the tank would want refilling. How snug the handles have been, and in the event that they were too bulky or heavy for smaller children to handle. After filling every water Orbi gun to capacity, we turned them the other way up and gave them a superb shake to see how a lot water leaked out. Everyone's water tank runs out finally, and patrolling across the hose, tap or barrel will imply you will get back to refill your water gun first.

Ok so ... cost of the game and it being a issue
Ever since the insane price hike of this game in 2020 the Fandom has had a on going argument about the cost of the game ...actually a lot longer than that but the arguments died down at times
A long time ago during the end of thec6ds aera yugioh hit its frist real high point with a max rarity tele-dad deck that was close to 2000 ... Konami saw the issue and tried to fix it to keep decks under 300 for a while with a few cards hitting 100 on ans off
Then came 2015 where the tcg desided to get rid of rare cards in main sets and Gove us a super every pack .... this was a mistake
This made the allready bug problem of rarity bumping worse and caused a increase in short prints yes you got more holes per box but most of what you pull was not what you wanted or worth enough to trade for what you wanted causing a spike in the secondary market
They then got rid of unlimites prints a special edition 3 pack promo sets that would reprint a good card form the set abd hove is rather a reprint of a older card or a ocg exclusive they also kepted changing structure decks to keep good reprints out
Then the same 2020 story. Supply abd demand, running put of card stock , inflation all lead to a record breaking year for Konami but let the secondary market run wild the tcg did not help with a lot of sets that had one good reprint that caused everyone to buy boxes of a set flooding the bulk market
Then came the tier 0 area where for about 2 years straight everyone had the same deck and it cost more than my house then the reprint issue got worse the past 3 years of tins abd reprint sets have been horrible because they don't include the card needed to make the deck rum or made it a collector rare so 1 in every Luke 6 cases and the secret rare issues have cause a mess because all the good ones are 1 in every 3 cases
The problem now is the on going high cost and rarity changes then 2023 releasing so many sets screwed up this way no one could keep up
For the players who study the ocg to find decks and cards we like we can't plan anything out fire king because it is a structure deck should have cost 100 to make maybe 150 but do to the tcg changing rarities it is now 900 for the lowest rarity to 3000 for the highest rarity to make
So all of our planning out deck making strategies we plan out mean nothing because the deck is to expensive and I wish it was just one deck no every deck with potential to be good is getting the rarity bumps so all the planning is for nothing because we can't afford to keep spending 1000 to 3000 dollers on decks
Right now yugioh the tcg is having more shops deciding they won't sell the tcg products than ever because buying a pack is useless buying a box useless it's singles or cases
The tcg is becoming so expensive it is going to while its self out

How AI in Stock Trading Will Transform Markets?
Tumblr media
In the exciting world of finance and investments, a powerful tool called artificial intelligence is revolutionizing how people trade in the stock market. AI brings super-smart computer technology to the table, making it possible to analyze massive amounts of data and make clever decisions when trading stocks. This technology is transforming stock trading into a more efficient and informed process.
Imagine you’re trying to make money by buying and selling stocks inthe stock market. Artificial Intelligence is like a smart helper that uses computers to do this trading in a clever way. It’s really good to look at a lot of information quickly and make smart decisions based on that information.
Here’s How AI Stock Trading Work
Tumblr media
1.Collecting Information: First, AI gathers much information about companies and the economy. This info comes from things like past stock prices, company financial details, news articles, and even what people are saying on social media.
2. Cleaning and Getting Ready: The gathered information is a bit messy, so AI cleans it up and gets it ready for understanding. It’s like sorting out your room before studying.
3. Finding Useful Clues: AI tries to find hints or patterns in the information that might help predict what will happen in the stock market. This is similar to figuring out patterns in a game to win.
4. Choosing the Right Moves: There are different ways AI can decide what to do with stocks. It can use lessons from the past to decide what to buy and sell. It can also watch the market in real time and decide what to do based on what’s happening right now.
5. Testing and Learning: Before actually doing the trading, AI practices with past information to see if its decisions would have worked well in the past. It’s like practicing a game to get better.
6. Real Trading: Once AI is good at making decisions, it starts buying and selling stocks for real. It keeps an eye on the stock market all the time and acts fast when it sees good opportunities.
7. Staying Up to Date: The stock market changes significantly, so AI keeps learning from new information to stay smart and make better decisions over time.
Advantages of AI in Stock Trading
Tumblr media
1.Better Risk Management: AI helps traders make safer decisions when dealing with stock futures by quickly analyzing risks and suggesting ways to prevent big losses.
2. No Emotions: Unlike people, AI doesn’t feel emotions like fear or greed, so it doesn’t make impulsive choices based on feelings. This makes AI a more stable and reliable trader.
3. Handling More: AI can keep an eye on many stock futures at once, allowing traders to invest in different things and catch good opportunities in various markets.
4. Learning from History: AI can look at past data to improve trading strategies. It’s like learning from the mistakes and successes of the past to do better in the future.
5. Always Learning: AI keeps getting smarter by learning from new information and trends in the stock futures market.
6. Fast and Accurate: AI can make trades really quickly, taking advantage of tiny opportunities that people might miss. It also reduces mistakes, so you can trust it to make good choices.
AI in stock trading is like a helpful friend who works super fast, predicts stock futures, and keeps going non-stop. It can help traders make smarter choices, potentially earn more money, and is cost-effective.
Conclusion
AI has revolutionized stock trading by quickly analyzing vast amounts of data, making smart decisions, and predicting market trends. This technology acts like a fast, reliable assistant that helps traders make better choices, potentially leading to higher profits and cost savings.

Campus lives are starting: Try Segotep Lumos G6 for your pc build
Tumblr media
While open loop water cooling systems and cases without corner columns are just ways to show your features, the combination of Segotep’s Lumos G6 tower cooler and case named Memphis bring you the real daily experience of using your personal computer. Once, you could easily find recommendation setup lists which were filled with air coolers of low cost with the advertisements saying they were durable and would not leak like AIO liquid coolers. Now many liquid coolers of entry level are getting cheaper, but does that mean AIO liquid coolers are suitable for everyone?
Tumblr media
As for the fins, Lumos G6 is constructed by stringing fins with heat pipes. So many experienced DIYers would ask why doesn’t the cooler adopt the reflow production process? Is it because the cost? Actually, if the tolerances are well-controlled, the heat dissipation efficiency of heatsinks made by stringing process would be higher than those produced with reflow technologies. Because it is the fins that spread the heat, not the pipes with high conduction efficiency. The connection between the fins and pipes is therefore one of the key factors. As we all known, the conduction efficiency of solder used in reflow process is not so high, so stringing fins are a good option too. We can see from the picture that the tolerances of the fins of Lumos G6 are strictly controlled to improve its heat dissipation capacity.
Tumblr media
Actually, liquid coolers are not suitable for all students. They don’t have enough time to install all the hardware. What’s more, most of their computers are put under the desks, allowing little portability. In order to avoid any blockage of a pump of leakage of coolant from a liquid cooler, it is more rational for students to use a cost-effective air cooler with 6 heat pipes. The combination of Lumos G6 and Memphis, a case with many vents and dust filters also from Segotep, will be a perfect match to the living environment in universities. With its outstanding heat dissipation and durability, Lumos G6 will undoubtedly outlive some generations of motherboards and CPUs, so the students can use their PCs without updating any hardware during their 4 years or more of campus lives.
Tumblr media
No coolers can be called a cooler without a fan, neither an air cooler nor a liquid one. Segotep Lumos G6 is embeded with a 120mm hydraulic fan of 1.98mm H2O air pressure while its noise level is maintained at/under 38.5dB(A). Pads are also pre-attached on the back of the fan to avoid any resonance. In addition to its high air pressure, big air volume and outstanding appearance, Lumos G6 also supports 5V ARGB lighting synchronization on its fan blades and heatsink cover.
Tumblr media
As its name suggests, Lumos G6 is built with six heat pipes. Thanks to the severe competition in SSD and liquid cooler manufacturing industries, it is reasonable that all RMB100-level 4-heatpipe air coolers are now upgraded to 6-heatpipe ones. All consumers are surprised. With respect to the design, the base of the cooler is a compact array of 2-2-2 heat pipes which improves heat conduction remarkably with the direct contact between the heat pipes and the Intel or AMD CPUs’ IHS(Integrated Heat Spreader).
Tumblr media
The protruded heat pipes on the top are hidden under the heatsink cover. With a total height of just 158mm, the cooler is to easily fit into most ATX and M-ATX cases on the market. When installed into Segotep’s Memphis, a case with many fine vents for better air cooling, you can definitely enjoy the charm Lumos G6, as an air cooler, has to offer.
Tumblr media
When tested with AMD Ryzen7 5700X, a CPU with best price-to-performance ratio now, the temperature is not so high for this processor with a up to 4.6 GHz accelerating frequency. For those who are not overclockers, the PCU temperature is just around 60℃ when they play games or work with their computers fully loaded. When tested at a frequency of 4.55GHz set through PBO(Precision Boost Overdrive) for all cores, the temperature is 83℃ even when the processor is 100% loaded. So it will be ok for you to overclock the CPU to 4.8GHz by setting the voltage manually. Therefore we can conclude that Lumos G6 can do more than its price level as an air cooler.
Tumblr media
Some experienced DIYers may have encountered the awkward moment of coolant leakage from a liquid cooler. If you wan to avoid embarrassment, an air cooler would be the best choice if you are going to build a mid-level computer for yourself of friends. With a heat dissipation capacity that is rated for up to 180W, the 6-heatpipe Lumos G6 is compatible with M-ATX cases while allowing much headroom for the four RAMs. It looks as beautiful as some all-in-one liquid coolers with the ARGB lighting on its cover. For a powerful yet affordable air cooler whose selling price is low, Lumos G6 is your first choice.

pension account i was under the impression that the pension account was like a savings account... you put money in and it stays until it gets payed out through pensions. is it tied to the stock market somehow?
before the great crash i dumped all my stocks and had about $3B in cash i didnt know what to do with besides sit on, so i put a third into the pension account. in 4 months it dropped to 25m.
i thought i was crazy so i reloaded again and put less into the pension account. it again dropped from 200m to 25m. i have kept playing the game, but i am scared to put money into the pension account.
my total liabilities have gone from 25m (about what it dropped to) to 50m in that time, lots of near strikes at the beginning of the depression.
afaik there wasnt any notice or anything in the reports that told me where the money went

Phantasmagoria has GearCity Aug 21, 2021 @ 2:22am Ford Achievement Is the Henry Ford achievement even possible? I can survive on hard mode, but 15M sales by 1930 seems ludicrous. Does anyone have this achievement, and how did you get it?
You might think it ludicrous, but that's what Ford did. By 1920 Ford had 55% market-share, world wide.
Numbers wise, pure AI sim, no player, sales figures average about 1 Million per year. A keen player can probably generate more sales on top of that. You'll need to average roughly around 40% market share over the period. So while it is feasible to do it, yes, it'll be pretty difficult to do. As it is meant to be. It's the halo achievement of the game.
How would I go about it? Buyout and consolidations, and really really really cheap, sell-able vehicles.
(Some feature bounty tickets might make the achievement a little more attainable, specifically the ones that merge the trimming system into the base models, so you don't have to manage many different trims. And the ones that make unlimited factory sizes.)
Shady Ed has GearCity Aug 21, 2021 @ 3:27am   Originally posted by Phantasmagoria: Is the Henry Ford achievement even possible? I can survive on hard mode, but 15M sales by 1930 seems ludicrous. Does anyone have this achievement, and how did you get it?
It's more than achievable. I sold 16.4 million just from 1920 to 1929 on nightmare difficulty.
The key is non stop expansion. I was constantly building 5 or 6 factories and when ever one completed I'd start a new one. I got the achievement months ago but from memory I was somewhere from 1 to 2 million in yearly missed sales for most of the 20s too.
Pioneer320 has GearCity Apr 24 @ 12:20am   For the record, I just got this achievement in July 1924. I was so afraid of missing the deadline, I was subsidising my cars using a late IPO and an even later sale of stock to keep going, selling around 2.4 million cars a year by 1923 at a heavy loss. It's probably possible to do it profitably, too.
Oleg Jughashvili has GearCity May 6 @ 6:39pm   i think the best i ever managed was about 10,000 vehicle a year total, even in the 1970s #4
Traksimuss has GearCity Jun 10 @ 3:25am   Oleg, then you are doing car design wrong or pricing wrong. You can sell 10,000 cars yearly by 1910 easily, sometimes even earlier.
Sheppis has GearCity Jun 10 @ 5:54pm   Originally posted by Traksimuss: Oleg, then you are doing car design wrong or pricing wrong. You can sell 10,000 cars yearly by 1910 easily, sometimes even earlier.
Actually to be on route to make the Ford achievement you ought to be at around 100,000 by 1910 or else you will have a big (maybe to big) montain to climb in the 20's.
To make the Ford achievement you will need to average 500,000 yearly, for every year you cannot do so you are accumulating sales you have to catch up later. The roaring twentys will allow you to make up quite a bit, but there are limits to just how much you can make up.
When I did Ford I passed 100k before 1910, was at 500k when the war broke out. Hovered between 350-450k troughout the war. And made the achievement in 1924, so I had a few years to spare. You can do it at a slower pace, but after 1910 you really should be pushing 100k+ yearly.

With Alan Wake 2 not getting a physical release to "save money", and a potential lack of physical release for Starfield (we're not sure at this point in time after a deleted support tweet said it wouldnt have one)
I am literally on my hands and knees begging people to care about physical game releases
Physical game releases save you money!! Digital store fronts do not reduce the price of games over time. They never have. They never will. Hate the $70 price point for new generation games? If gaming goes full digital, nothing will ever get cheaper outside of store sales.
Physical game prices drop because they take up actual physical space. And stores that sell them reduce the price to get rid of inventory, to make room for new inventory.
Physical space is not a barrier to digital store fronts, so they do not need to reduce prices. EVER.
Dont believe me? Heres the current price for NBA 2k23 on PS4 on the UK Playstation Store (Ignoring the game is currently free on Playstation Plus as of typing this):
Tumblr media
And heres how much it costs to buy NBA 2k22 AND NBA 2k21 on the UK Playstation store:
Tumblr media
Theyre the same price. Despite the fact that 22 and 21 are "old" sports titles that are no longer getting updates (because 23 was released)
Right now, a physical copy of NBA 2k23 costs less than £20:
Tumblr media
(I cant find physical listings for Brand New copies of the older games. But trust me... its not £59.99)
And sure, this is a game you probably dont care about. But this is also a game where a new version gets released every year, where the physical price crashes every year. And yet the digital store front is still charging Full Price for a version 2 years out of date.
Its not just crappy sports games that fall into this Bad Digital Pricing. Heres a game that came out 6 months ago:
Tumblr media
Youre paying almost half to buy a physical version.
How about something critically well received?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And one not on sale:
Tumblr media
The list goes on and on and on. And this is me comparing to Game.co.uk. .... Generally considered one of the most expensive places to buy physical video games. If i were to go onto Amazon, TheGameCollection, Hit.co.uk.... i'd probably find all of those games even cheaper.
This isn't even getting into the fact that when you buy a digital game, only you can play it. You cannot give it to a friend. You cannot sell it to a company to get a bit of cash for the next big game. You're stuck with it. Forever.
But what about sales? Steam is 100% digital, and they have Good Sales, right?? Wrong. If you were following Steam sales over a decade ago, you'd see they were a totally different beast to what they are now. Steam Sales a decade ago used to be a 75% discount on AAA games 2-3 years old. Youre lucky to get 50% on something 5+ years old these days. Most things are really only 25-50% discounts. Once Steam had gained a virtual monopoly over the PC game market, they dramatically scaled back the savings on their sales. Sales on the Epic Games Store tend to be more dramatic than Steam sales these days.... because they're doing the same thing Steam did. Offer ridiculous discounts in order to gain market share. Once they have the market share, they will stop offering such good discounts.
Refund rights with digital storefronts are also pretty poor. Here in the UK, if you buy something online... you have 14 days to send it back to where you brought it from if you dont like it. Brought that shiny new game but realised after 5 hours of play during the weekend that you didn't like it? You can just send it back and get a refund. It might be store credit instead of cash, but at least you can do it. Physical stores vary, but you usually get 48 hours to return something. Again, might be to store credit - but you still get your money back in some form. .... With a digital storefront, you only get 2 hours to play the game and decide if you want to keep it. Once you have played more than 2 hours, youre no longer eligible to refund the game.
.... 2 hours isnt a lot of time when you think about it. The FF16 demo is about 2 hours long, and most of it is watching cutscenes with very little gameplay! :D
And none of this is talking about how peoples literal jobs and livelihoods depend on the physical stores they work in. If physical games no longer exist, people will lose their jobs. Or how physical copies preserve games for the future, as digital store fronts on older consoles get sunsetted. And you cant expect a 20+ year old console to occasionally receive security patches so your card data is safe on their digital store fronts. You can always stick a physical version of a game into a console, but there wont always be a storefront to download it from. ...... Or the game could just be pulled. For good. Usually, this is due to licensed music expiring. Or it could be like PT.... where it was pulled, and literally removed from your library so it could never be downloaded again. If you own the physical copy, none of that matters. You can play the game for as long as the copy works.
A digital-only future for AAA gaming is something we need to be actively condemning
Dont buy digital-only consoles. Don't buy a digital game when a physical copy exists. Buy from your local video game store instead of Amazon.

This is Not a Town, it's a Sandwich
June 2nd, 2023
So, I went on a trip with Kory and Brandon, and I figured id write out the whole trip on here, and see if it increases my memory of the trip as the time goes on.
We decided that we were going to go to Southern Maine and just chill, go to this flea market that Kory had found out about, and then see where it went from there. Popeye's was the only other definite, because I had just had Popeye's with Tasha when we went to comic con a couple of months before. Kory and Schultz had never had Popeye's before, so I wanted them to experience the awesomeness that was Popeye's.
We were suppose to be leaving around 7, but of course Kory had to be Kory and we left a little after 7:30. I was dealing with some pretty severe allergies, but overall I was hoping the day would be good. The drive down wasn't bad, it actually went quite fast. We were in the parking lot of the flea market when Schultz brought up the idea of going even further south, to New Hampshire, and going to the FunSpot, which is the world's largest arcade. We decided to think about it while inside the flea market.
The flea market was gigantic, and I really wish we lived closer to it. The items inside were awesome, Pop figures, Blu-Rays, books, trading cards, plushies, and other assorted items. I could have spent all day in there. I spent a lot of the beginning of my time in there scanning the pop figures with my funko app, trying my best to find rare ones, or at least ones worth more then they were being priced for. Not a ton of luck there, as i didn't end up leaving with any pop figures, but I also made the conscious decision to stop making it about there worth, and make it about the sentimental value of the character inside the box.
I found a stuffed Lilo and Sitch character for Tasha, a Ghostface figure, and a couple of movies to leave with, and we went back out to the car where we decided to go to Popeye's next.
They loved Popeye's just like I figured they would, and Schultz even said it out KFC to shame, which I agree with completely. While we were there we decided to go to New Hampshire, which was fine, but wasn't really what I had in mind for the trip, as I thought it was going to be more pawn shops and flea markets.
We made the trip down to New Hampshire, when I decided to do a snap with the town name displaying that we were in New Hampshire, and accidently discovered that we were in a town called Sandwich! I thought that was hilarious, because Shultz was in control of the radio and a played a song called "This is Not a Song, it's a Sandwich" just an hour or so before.
When we finally got to Funspot, it was actually really cool, and I spent a good hour or so just exploring the different places, and looking at the different arcade machines. I played Centipede, Donkey Kong. Asteroids, Jurassic Park, The Walking Dead. I got a few of the highscores in Asteroids, so my initials are in the largest arcade in the world. Then we were coming to the end of our time there, and we went in on getting as many tickets as we possibly could so that we could get souvenir's for home.
I found the classic arcade game of getting the light to land on the jackpot when you hit the button, and won the jackpot 5-6 times officially, but at least 7 times where the light was on the jackpot, but went back one when I hit the button.
Kory and Brandon got cups, and a I got a dinosaur hand puppet and a pen. Then at 8:30 we went to find dinner somewhere. I was kind of out of it at this point, and I don't remember the restaurant's name, but it was a Mexican restaurant, and it was fucking awful. Service was slow, the food smelled gross, and Kory and Schultz's food tasted gross. My main course wasn't bad, but the sides were fucking terrible.
The ride home I was in and out of consciousness, I remember walking up at one point and remembering that Kory was going very fast, but I was too tired to care. We got home at 2AM.
