Every day I am haunted by the fact JJK could be amazing but it will be just idk Bleach or something

#I've seen a lot of people complaining about the fact that it's impossible to fit the ending of every unfinished arc #in the five chapters that remain for the manga to end for good #And it all just... legitimises my fear and apprehension haha #And it's a pity! It's a pity! The dynamics were so good! And yet nothing! Sukuna was so good! And yet nothing!#It was so nice how he seemed to play with the idea of transcending human categories and values but even the values of curses so to speak #Well beyond everything. Well beyond positive/creative nihilism even! He was not like Mahito #I wonder if Mahito is more a negative nihilism with a funny edge or a positive nihilism. For now it seems positive #with how he seems to have said something like 'nothing matters so we can do whatever we want and create what matters'#But Sukuna transcends all that! It could have been interesting to see how that developed in a way that wasn't just childish edginess #But no. And then there's all the idea of curses and sorcerers not being all that different #and so not really entirely possible to say one side is good and the other bad #There was the idea of the very source of powers with fear and love playing a role here in such a juicy way #And then there's the entire thing happening with Gojo as a concept and the very concepts he plays with which I could eat like an apple #but also I would let those very concepts eat at my heart as a worm inside an apple #Full of holes and rotting inside out and yet delighting at the sweetness #It could all be so good! And yet! Most of the manga is a few sketched dynamics and concepts and a very long fight with Sukuna #promising half finished arcs #WHY it could have been so good. And I don't think criticism is a matter of 'fans being spoiled! Go write your story!' or something #It's not a matter of things not going as fans would want them to be. It's a matter of not writing well #or cohesively things established by the author themselves. And I think that's a fair criticism #If we are to take manga as an art‚ which I wholeheartedly support‚#then we can subject mangas to artistic or literary or whatever you want to call it analysis. There are works that are better constructed #than others‚ and there are works that have good ideas but poor execution. And it's always a pity #In the case of JJK it's truly breaking my heart and the comments I see around about these five last chapters are not helping xD #God it could be so good. So good. And I'm not talking about in specific to me‚ which yes that too given the topics‚#but just so good in general. It could be so good. It could have been so good #And yet it's starting to look more and more like any other shonen. It truly breaks my heart haha #I talk too much #Jujutsu Kaisen #I used Bleach because I think that's one of the mangas that has been the most a let down to the friends I have who like shonen

Despite how much I suffered making my last isat au Aris sprite redraw, I decided to do it again and once again went through hell doing it. There’s like a billion mistakes in this (such as her having the wrong arm rip) but at the end of the day I’m still happy with how it turned out :]

#keese draws #oc #oc art #eternal gales #isat #in stars and time #sorry for main tagging feel free to excecute me if you want or whatever #grips sink cringe is dead cringe is dead cringe is dead #anyways this is a very fuzzy and vague au as I don’t rly feel comfortable going off too hard with this one #this is pretty much entirely because I know I’d have to fuck around with the worldbuilding a decent amount and I don’t rly wanna do that #Isat’s worldbuilding is one of my favorite parts of isat so I don’t wanna fuck it up yknow?#I might do some other sprite redraws once I stop thinking too hard abt aris and tali #for context tali is the king aka complicated design that makes me wanna cry especially since I made it worse by changing her imagery #instead of having tears as a thing she has like. fracturing if that makes sense?#it’s supposed to be a nod to her ‘cracked’ eye in canon #she also has threads coming from her limbs instead of long hair for similar reasons #also she doesn’t have straight hair so yknow #but yeah for additional context aris and tali are half sisters and they make me go insane #in this au the idea would be that when their grandparents divorced when the two were little tali and their grandma left the island #aris wouldn’t leave until five or so years later when she was around 12 #at which point the island disappeared and all that #the two have mostly completely forgotten about eachother but there still is familiarity between them #tali isn’t any less of a piece of shit than the king in this au tho #aris for a brief moment almost remembers who tali is during act 3 but she dies before she can fully grasp it #which almost hurts more to her despite not even knowing what she was trying to recall #during act 5 her inner sadness fight is against the hazy image of a very young tali 👍#just tiny 5 year old tali using the voices of the others to scream at aris that she’s been nothing but a burden to them all #and that she’s done nothing but hurt them in her selfish attempts to fix a problem that she refuses to admit she caused #and that time and time again she’s lied that she’s doing her best to protect them and that she’s failed all of them #it’s a mix of current guilt and her hazy but longstanding guilt towards tali

maybe its sample bias but i think it's kinda funny how most people I've seen who've played drakengard because of nier are making ending e THE endgoal and more often than not the main if not only reason they're playing the game at all and when they finally get it they're like "this is it the single most impactful, greatest moment of all gaming. im wiping tears from my eyes this is it" and then you see the drakengard fans who've played drakengard because they like drakengard and you ask them about ending e and they're like "eh. it was okay, i guess"

#gu6chan's musings #i think it's different when you view it as the ending/finale to the GAME vs the literal thing you play the game for #honestly though if im being 100% fr.... im kinda not even neutral on ending e i think it kinda sucks lol #like #i dont HATE it #but it's definitely really weak not even in a 'final fuck you to the player' type way just a.... bad way?#like its too absurd and out of nowhere to be taken seriously but it takes ITSELF too seriously to be considered a joke #so its just kinda a weird unsatisfying blend that left me like 'huh. i think they should have left off at ending d' which DOES manage to be #a sort of slap on the wrist 'reward' for players who CONTINUE to slaughter and thereby follow the general theme of the game while still #respecting the time and effort they put into THEIR product. it's not... satisfying? at least in the way an ending should be; but it still #felt like a worthwhile conclusion that solidly BUILT UP and RESPONDED to players' curiosity and expectations #ending e just kinda gave the feeling that the staff didn't really have confidence or even a thought players LIKED their product so they just #kinda threw whatever at them which in other cases it would be a silly joke #but positioning it as the 'finale' of the game just felt kinda wrong and disrespectful lol. left a bad taste in my mouth #bc again its ONE thing not to 'reward' players with a happy ending who are just casually playing and may be somewhat interested in the story #but if you're going to the point of collecting SIXTY FIVE WEAPONS its no longer just about casually playing #these ppl have a GENUINE drive and desire to see how much higher the stakes can get and again #the ending is just really.... lukewarm and unserious compared to the actual RESOLUTION players got regardless of the tone of the ending?#if that makes sense #im rambling at this point ending e isn't even my LEAST Favourite ending (I'm sorry c; I love you but that goes to you) but godddd #i have so many issues with it #rhythm game is fun once youve actually gotten the damn thing though
