Keep on imagining if KF had an anime... This post would be too long so Imma just move to tags
#Imagining the fluidity of the motions adding more to the characters#Like. Okay so maybe people haven't really noticed and that's totally fair fair#But I love putting the actions and movements of my characters into what's going on even when it doesn't seem or even isn't important#And I love the fluidity of cartoons especially when they have that extra movements like for example when a character wobbles#Bad at explaining hh#When a character leans back and forth tilting their head and body like their body is sort of limp and loose#and showing that the character is seeming uncaring towards what's going on almost like they're bored or tired or like#The character is moving like that and they sorta look like a ragdoll?? I think it's so cool and fun when they do that#Because sometimes when it's done it can do stuff like show off things like they keep them moving like a doll on strings barely being held u#Mayhaps to show off that the character is more unpredictable and uncaring as they barely put effort into their movements#and leaving the protags uncomfortably unaware of what the wobbly person's next move is. Am I making sens e I hope so#Probs not because I haven't reread any of these tags. Oops.#Anyways back on track I also just like when the characters move like that because it's so fun to see#l like how Monoxol just sways around a lot.#Also I gave them messing with their hair cause I do that and my irl friend always got mad at me for doing that and tried to stop me#Because they thought it made me look like I had anxiety so I gave it to one of the characters who's the least anxious I've made ever LOL#xolmumbles#killing favorites

I am a Ruan Mei defender, not because I think she's a blameless misunderstood character, but bc I am very afraid of people interpreting her terrible actions as bad writing bc "the game still expects us to like her" or overexaggerating her bad traits in order to make Dr. Ratio look better by comparison.
And that's not to say I think Ratio is a "bad" guy either, I think the whole point of introducing him alongside Ruan Mei was to highlight how different the Genius Society operates compared to "normal" academics. Ratio's over the top arrogance makes him off-putting at first, but his genuine desire to spread knowledge to everyone who wants to learn it is the perfect contrast to the obsession and selfishness of the Genius Society, who only ever care about fulfilling their own desires without concern for those below them. Even Screwllum, the member who seems the most sociable and friendly, let Ratio carry on with his antics on the space station just to see what would happen, even though it put the Trailblazer in danger and threatened the whole facility.
So that is to say, Ruan Mei is like that on purpose. We aren't supposed to see her drugging us and sending us after an incomplete Emanator of Propagation and be confused as to how she's a "goody guy." She isn't. None of the members of the Genius Society are "good" people just bc we're allied with them. Herta uses Traliblazer as a guinea pig for the Simulated Universe after all, and we now know that as long as it's something he's curious about, Screwllum won't interfere to protect us even when he's already figured out the solution to the problem we're facing.
But I also want to do a little apologism for Ruan Mei bc sometimes the accusations I see lobbed at her is a bit much. Like, yeah, she drugged us, but it was a temporary inhibitor that literally only stopped us from giving people information about Ruan Mei. And she didn't do it just to fuck with us? Ruan Mei is incredibly aware of how emotionally detached she is and knows it's almost impossible for her to understand the affection given to her by her creations. She doesn't drug us out of some evil desire to control information, she does it bc she knows her time on the space station is temporary and wants to avoid leaving behind any memories of her being there. That doesn't make it okay and it's still presented alongside everything else she does that's uncaring towards TB and her creations, but it makes it a little more complicated than just "she's an unfeeling sociopath that would happily watch us die." It's bad, but it's also one of Ruan Mei's weird and not good ways of showing consideration.
It's interesting, is what I'm saying. It's compelling. And I don't really dig how it she gets reduced to a two-bit manipulator.
I'm a bit of a stickler for this particular thing bc it's something I truly adore about HSR's writing, and also something I see as one of the game's core themes. There is no clear divide between "good" guys and "bad" guys. The Genius Society is full of emotionally constipated weirdos who wouldn't pay a single bit of attention to us if we weren't interesting to them, but they're also important allies to the Express. The Stelleron Hunters are our biggest opposition and wreak havoc on whatever planet they enter, but we know that their goals somewhat align with our own and unless you go out of your way to be mean to her with every dialogue option, it's pretty obvious that Kafka is someone Trailblazer loves.
And even Cocolia, someone who almost destroyed the last remnants of civilization on her own planet, gets treated with sympathy. Bronya is allowed to mourn her mother and still see her as an aspirational figure, all the while Serval is allowed to break off ties with her and definitively move on from her past.
It's a theme that carries over to a lot of HSR's important side quests too, where often you're expected to choose between two options that both have some pretty heavy downsides no matter what. You have your own moral compass, and along the way the choices may seem crystal clear, but it's never so black and white as you predict. It's a game about decisions, about making your own way in life and learning about the different worldviews of those you meet. Good or bad, helpful or hurtful, it's not always so obvious as "this person did something bad to me, now I will forever dislike them."

Trans character - read on ao3
Okay so this was somewhat depressing to write because its so fresh. I kind of took my own coming out story to my mom and copy and pasted it with Tony and Peter. (What aunt May tells Peter is almost word for word for what my mom told me) it was kind of therapeutic to write honestly, but anyway here you guys go!
I wrote this in Tony's POV instead of Peter's because I wanted to write the switch. You know, where Tony no longer thinks of Peter as a he, but as a they. I really liked how it came out.
Also if anyone comes at me saying non-binary isn't transgender I will throw hands.

Its hard to say what exactly is wrong with Peter when he first walks into the lab after a long holiday weekend.
He smiles the same, walks the same, even makes the same quips and terrible jokes. But there's something off about him that has Tony glancing at him a little longer than necessary when the teenager isn't looking.
"You alright, kid?" He had asked, casually when the silence between jokes grew a little too expansive.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine," Peter had responded, waving a hand in Tony's general direction before getting back to work.
Tony hadnt pressed the issue. He must be tired. He doesn't press for the whole afternoon he's with Peter.
But he comes back with that same offness to him the next day, holding the strap of his bag the same as he's done before.
It takes Tony half the day to figure out what's wrong -well, not whats wrong, but that he's upset. Trying desperately to hide it.
"Lets take a break," Tony said, setting his tools down. Peter's head snaps up to meet his eyes, his own wide with surprise. Tony never offers to take a break when in the lab.
"Uh, are-are you sure?" Peter asked, hesitantly setting his own tools down. "I'm not finished-"
"We'll get back to it, I'm hungry."
So Peter follows him up the stairs and into the kitchen. He sits on a stool at the island while Tony putters around the kitchen, getting stuff around for sandwiches.
Tony pretends to put all his attention on making sandwiches, but he sneaks glances at Peter, noting his somewhat drooping shoulders.
He picks at the counter top with a slight frown. He's chewing on the inside of his cheek.
Tony finishes the sandwiches and claps once, jolting the kid. "Done!" He says, watching as Peter immediately changes his features.
The smile is back, wide as ever, eyes glittering and shoulders raising.
"What kind of chips do you want?" Tony asks, instead of asking what he really wants to.
"Uh, plain is fine," Peter said, still scratching his forefinger against the granite.
They both sit across from each other at the island, eating silently. Tony waits until Peter's got most of his food eaten before he decides to start pressing.
"Whats got you down?"
Peter blinks at him, caught off guard. "Huh?"
"You've been off for the last two days. I can tell you're upset about something."
"You can tell?" Peter asked, sounding even more upset. Tony sighs, shoving his empty plate to the side so he can fold his arms on the counter, leaning forward a little.
"I may come across as uncaring at times, or oblivious," he confesses. "But I notice when it counts. And something is bothering you."
And just like that, Peter's walls crumble. Its depressing, honestly, that all it takes is someone taking notice for Peter to break.
"I came out to my aunt this weekend," he said, looking down at his finger, still picking away at Tony's kitchen counter.
"It didn't go well, I take it," Tony sighed. Peter instantly looked up, eyes wide.
"No, no i-it went good," Peter said, shaking his head.
"Then why are you so upset?"
Peter's shoulders sag once again, and he slouches closer to the counter.
"I don't know," he confessed sullenly.
"Is she not supportive of you being gay?"
"Uh, I didn't come out to her as gay," Peter corrected. "I mean, I don't know if I'm gay or not. I'm still- still trying to figure it out."
"Thats alright," Tony said. "Its okay not to know right away."
Peter gives him a small smile.
"But you gotta give me something, kid. Tell me what happened."
Peter lets out a long sigh. One Tony's made many times before.
"I came out as non-binary," Peter said, eyes never leaving the counter. "I've already come out to my friends, and they support me, but, uh, I didn't like lying to Aunt May. I already have to hide the fact that I'm spiderman, I didn't want to hide anything else from her."
Tony stays quiet, nodding along. Peter's gotta tell him more, and Tony doesn't want to ask a question and drop the ball.
"She- she wasn't upset when I told her," Peter continued. "She said she'd always love me, which-which was what I needed to hear," Peter continued. "I thought she'd kick me out or send me to some conversion camp, or just- I don't know, tell me I was wrong."
"But she didn't," Tony said. Peter shook his head, seeming to slouch even closer to the counter.
"No," Peter said softly. "She- she said she wasn't mad, and that what I was feeling was okay, but. But she said she wasn't going to use my pronouns, and that she was going to continue calling me her nephew -which is fine, there's not really a gender neutral term for it- but she- she just, doesn't want to switch how she thinks of me, and- and that kind of sucks."
"That does. I'm sorry, kid," Tony sighed. There's a moment of silence shared between them while Tony processes a little. "What pronouns are you using?"
Peter glances up at him. "Uh, they/them," he said. "But, uh, you don't have to, you know. Use them," he added lamely.
Tony shakes his head. "They're your pronouns, Peter. Of course I'll use them."
Tony watches as Peter blushes, dropping their eyes to the counter once more.
"Do you have a preferred name?" Tony asked again.
"Uh, no not really," Peter shrugged, looking up again. "I like Peter."
Tony nods, smiling at them encouragingly. "If you ever decide your birth name doesn't fit you, I'll call you whatever you want."
Tony must say the right thing because Peter lights up like a Christmas tree. They climb off the stool and rushes around the island.
Tony turns in his chair just in time for the teenager to crash into him, hugging him tight.
"I'm sorry about your aunt, kiddo," Tony sighs against the top of Peter's head.
"Its okay," they said, voice muffled in Tony's shirt. "She was just- raised differently."
Tony shook his head, tightening his hold on Peter. "Its not okay, Pete. We were born in the same generation. Its not about being raised a certain way, its about her mindset."
Peter pulls back a little, looking up at Tony. "I just- I'm okay with her just knowing," they said softly. "It made me feel better to tell her, but- but I respect her enough not to- not to force her to use my pronouns. Its just- I can compromise."
That gets Tony really scowling.
"Kid," he sighed. "Listen, respect is a two way street, and thats not respect. She should have respect for you enough to accept you."
"She does," Peter said, eyes widening.
"She doesn't," Tony countered. "If she accepted you, she'd use your pronouns no problem. She may still love you, and she probably won't think of you any differently, but refusing to use your preferred pronouns is disrespectful."
Peter looks torn, and Tony smooths his features, trying not to show his anger towards Peter's aunt.
He pulls Peter back into his chest, and they go willingly, tucking their head under Tony's chin.
"I'm sorry about your aunt," Tony repeated, holding the teenager tight.
This time, Peter only nods, hugging Tony back just as tightly.
The rest of the week, Tony notices Peter's mood changing. Its a slow change, starting out with disappointment, and working its way to acceptance.
They're still not happy about coming out to their aunt, but Tony thinks talking with them seemed to help a lot.
Peter decides to turn their focus on other things. On his friends, on the avengers, on Tony and the project they're working on together.
It doesn't make the problem with their aunt go away, but it helps. Tony knows when they're old enough to move out, life will be much easier on them. They'll be able to express themselves completely in their own home -not just with their friends.
But until then, Tony thinks Peter's okay with the slight crack in the foundation of their relationship.
All Tony can do is be there for the kid, let them rant about their feelings and offer a room for them when they need time away. He wishes things were different for Peter, but they've both accepted that its not.

S5 Trailer Thoughts Part One: Major plot/ characters
Intial thoughts: Fascinating plotline!! The Lucifer team really seems to have a cohesive storyline this time around. But let's talk about the elephant in the room, yeah?

Michael is here and what an interesting villain he is! What does he want and why does he want it? Well we know he wants to take over Lucifer's life on Earth but his reasoning behind it is less clear. My initial thought is that his motive has something to do with both Chloe's miracle status and Lucifer's redemption arc last season (i.e. Dad seemingly forgiving Lucifer). Based on what we've seen of Michael's personality so far, I'd say he's quite depraved himself; however, I theorize that Dad isn't so forgiving with the other siblings as he is with Lucifer 😉. While we're on this topic, let's talk more about Michael's character!

This shot is honestly what sold me on Michael as a character and Michael as a threat. I feel like this is the scene where we truly see who Michael is as a person, not as an embodiment of his twin, Lucifer. In this shot I truly believe Michael is the other side of Lucifer's coin. They share many facial quirks, such as the cold eyed stare and sardonic grin; however, there are discrepancies. Where Lucifer stares with almost righteous rage, Michael's stare is filled with so much contempt that it seems to devalue whoever it's directed at and whittles them down to an ant to be crushed under his heel. If that truly is indicative of his personality, what does that mean for the humans in Lucifer's life? Sure, Michael claims he doesn't want to destroy Lucifer's life on Earth, he simply wants to hijack it, but what is his definition of hijacking? Michael doesn't seem to value humanity in the way Lucifer does, what happens if/when he grows tired of their petty mortal lives?

Then we have their smiles, which is equally the most similar and dissimilar thing between the two. What I see in Michael's smile is a sadist type of joy that Lucifer's "laughing but it ain't funny" smile lacks. Michael seems to revel in pain, both as the punisher and punishee, if his fight with Maze is anything to go by. If Lucifer feels too much, I'd almost define Michael as feeling nothing at all. I view Lucifer as the morning star (obviously) and Michael as a black hole: devoid of humanity and absorbing everything in his path. He just seems to command this scene. We know that Maze just beat the shit out of him, and normally a fight like that would be the highlight of the scene, yet Michael just seems to suck all that attention away from Maze and to himself the moment he opens his mouth. He's fascinating and otherworldly in a way we've only seen from the likes of Mom, Uriel, Remiel, and s1 Amenadiel. To close out this section I'd like to put words to what many people are already thinking: Michael represents who and what Lucifer could have become had he let himself waste away in Hell. He is the embodiment of the callous Other living amongst humanity, detached and uncaring of anyone or anything that isn't himself.

But let's steer away from analyzing Michael and back to the plot at hand: Michael is attempting to pull the ol' Parent Trap scheme, except nobody's happy and there's more at stake than just some botched camp ear piercing and a London plane ticket. I know I've already seen some anxiety surrounding this plotline and to that I say: why? In my opinion I feel as though this bait and switch will fool no one. Just look at him for God's sake! There is simply something wrong about Michael's interpretation of his brother. To a stranger, perhaps Michael could pass as Lucifer; however, to people who know him, I'd find it very difficult to keep up the charade successfully. Sure, it may fool #TeamLucifer for a little bit (Michael bought himself some time by telling Chloe "thousands of years in hell has changed me") however I doubt this will fly for very long. Chloe may have turned a blind eye to some glaring things about Lucifer in the past, but I don't think she can quite convince herself to do it again for s5.

Take this shot, for example. Chloe's face tells me that something is Very Off. And not to mention Dan! Dan, of course, seems to look to be more exasperated than anything, although I wouldn't be surprised if he noticed something off as well. Dan has spent a season and a half (and the better part of his down spiral) hyperfocused on Lucifer. He knows Lucifer better than Lucifer himself would probably care to admit. We see in episodes like 1x05 and 2x07 that they do have things in common both interest-wise and personality-wise. I feel as though discounting Dan's intuition just because of his current (erratic) mental state is extremely preemptive. The show has already showed us that we shouldn't be doubting characters who possess paranoia towards Lucifer. Some of the most paranoid characters (Reese, Jimmy Barns, the Street Preacher from 1x13) every criminal ever) have all been correct about Lucifer's true identity. Why would that change now? I think Dan has always been the character to watch regarding the supernatural, and I stand by that claim even more so for s5.

This is a change of pace from character analysis, but I'm just curious about this shot! It's clearly a Shining reference, but why? Is this symbolic of Lucifer wasting away trapped in hell, similar to how Jack wastes away trapped in the Outlook Hotel? I'm curious to find out!

The last screencap I want to discuss is this one. Right off the bat what I notice is the wing color; they're not white!

Later on in the trailer we see that Michael's wings are a different color than Lucifer's white ones! So is this Lucifer or is this Michael? The wing color would imply this is Michael; however, as we've theorized up above, it seems uncharacteristic of Michael to care this much about humanity (especially when that human is Chloe!). Is Michael willing to feign emotion to pass as Lucifer? It's hard to know from the trailer alone!
Closing Thoughts:
This season seems to have a lot going for it. S4 set up this arc beautifully and I can't wait to see where the cast and crew take us. I firmly believe based on what we've seen so far that Michael will be the perfect character to tie up this five season story. (Obviously s6 has been greenlit but considering that to my knowledge s5 has not been altered to accommodate for it, I'm treating s5 as the conclusion to the previous overarching plotline.)

Is it killer, or is it filler?

This episode begins with Panthro doing repairs on that mighty ThunderTank. I never really talked about its looks, as this is one of the first good clear shots of it. This ThunderTank looks even more like a cat than the original, with a big red nose and a cat-like mouth, and it has a perpetually sticking out tongue. It's not as fierce looking as its original counterpart, but considering this is more of a comedy than an action show, it's fitting.
Panthro finishes the job, as indicated by the ThunderTank shining, and he talks to himself about how it must have been so long since he didn't have to fix something. He really must like to tempt fate with that one, that kind of saying is usually followed by everything breaking at the same time.

Surely enough, everything starts to break, all at the same time, and it's all because of his teammates. Cheetara broke the ThunderTread by exceeding its maximum speed it can handle, and the ThunderKittens broke the ThunderFridge trying to get that sweet ThunderCake.
Even the ones that are usually more competent than the others are involved with this massive breakage, as Snarf, the robot cat-dragon-thing with an intelligence level of 20 according to the first episode, is messing around with some wiring like it's a ball of yarn. Panthro doesn't even know what it is, and one thing I'm thinking of is that I'm surprised they didn't pull out a "samoflange" joke yet. As for Tygra, the usual straight man, he's just the victim of a falling ThunderSecurity Camera.
Suddenly, Sadako shows up, calling out to Panthro, presumably telling him that his 7 days are up, and he has to pay for that one month of Youtube TV whether he likes it or not.

No, that's just Lion-O drawn with much longer hair than usual for the sake of the Sadako gag, and he needs his blowdryer fixed. Not a ThunderBlowdryer, just a regular blowdryer. For a second, I thought he was melting, too, but that's actually his fur. They are cat people, after all.
All of the other ThunderCats come in, and Panthro tells them that he'll get to work on all of those problems, and the only repayment he'll need from his teammates is the appreciation he gets for doing everything. Que Lion-O throwing that fixed blowdryer to a wall, breaking it immediately! Get it, because Lion-O is selfish.
It's quite clear, even with Panthro's assurance that it was a easy mistake, that this is getting to him. It doesn't help that he hears something else breaking just outside. He assumes it must be yet another one of his teammates...except they're all here.

The alarms go off, and Lion-O knows what the ThunderCats should do in this situation as their great leader.
Lion-O: The lair is under attack! ThunderCats...PANIC!
(everyone panics)
See, it's funny because this isn't normally what happens! All of the ThunderCats search through various rooms, seeing that someone has been drilling through all of it, leaving giant holes everywhere. Worst of all, whatever is causing this has taken Lion-O's cake! Tygra shows up to tell Lion-O that he found it. No, not the cake, much to Lion-O's chagrin, as he'll never know the truth about that. Alas, poor ThunderCake.

The drilling came from this new robotic man with a drill for a lower body, named, appropriately, Driller. This was a character who first appeared in the eighteenth episode of the original. In the original, he was a mercenary who accepts diamonds as payment, which he will use to sharpen his mighty drill. At the very least, he confirms his want for diamonds in the first minute of his appearance, as the first thing he does is scan if those strange cat people have them.
Tygra tries to stop this new potential threat with a "stop right there, miscreant" and an all important pointer finger, and the miscreant just says no and continues drilling. He doesn't say "no" like a villain would say "never", just an uncaring "no".

There are higher stakes. According to Panthro and what looks like a portable video game console, Driller is heading towards the lair's Thundrillium core! If that gets destroyed, the rest of the lair goes with it. This comes much to the shock of everyone...except for Lion-O, who has a stupid face on throughout this speech. Lion-O only seems to care when Panthro clarifies that it's his stuff that's on the line, too. Get it, because Lion-O is selfish.

So they all try to fight him, but it's no use. Even with his need for diamonds at the time, his drill is still powerful enough to spin both Cheetara and the ThunderKittens out of the way. It takes Panthro's super strength to do any kind of stopping, but Tygra tries his best to be useful with his special ability to have a bola whip. I could take this as confirmation that they just got rid of one of the ThunderCat's special powers, though I doubt disappearing would have helped this situation. It almost seems like all is lost and Tygra is about to get a hole in the head, all until the Bola whip eventually makes his drill stop.

They take him in for questioning, and he properly introduces himself as Driller, and he drills. One point that ends up being a sticking point for Lion-O is that he's trying to get diamonds so he can sharpen his drill, which he uses to drill for more diamonds, and even his tiny little brain can admit that is an unending cycle with no real point.
He compares this to shampoo, which has the specific instructions to lather, rinse, and repeat, but one shouldn't repeat forever. Nice to see that blowdryer scene is relevant to the rest of the episode; he seems to know his hair products. He knows enough to know that shampoo is pointless, just like drilling just for the sake of drilling.

While the former is certainly wrong, as Tygra points out, Driller does not take that advice too well. He looks at the diamond on top of his head, which pops out instantly, and he tells himself that he is pointless. He lies down on the ground, clearly saddened of this realization, and this makes everyone else sad too. There is one exception, who boasts that he is glad to help. Here's a hint: it's funny because he's selfish!
Panthro tries to calm his senses, saying that his life is also an endless cycle: he fixes things, his teammates break them, he fixes them again. Driller then gives him his own bit of foresight.
Driller: So Panthro is pointless too?

I always wondered what that guy from that one Radiohead music video was talking about. And yes, Lion-O never gets this, either. Even in the end, he just kind of gets told to do the right thing eventually.

One week passes, and the Lair is still just as holey as ever. Tygra decides enough is enough, and something must be done about it, but Lion-O is happy about this new home arrangement, as he can jump straight from his living room to the kitchen in one jump. The ThunderKittens are happy too, as Lion-O made them a toy out of the shower curtain to cover up one of the holes, a...

JUMP PAD!
Yes, with a choir, too. It doesn’t work too well, though, as it eventually breaks, and we get this overly long joke about how they have to wait for WilyKit and Kat to hit the ground. Lion-O assures the rest that they have to hit the ground sometime. Don’t worry, they turn out to be okay, because nothing has to make sense in this wacky comedy.
Even Lion-O admits that something has to be done. The problem is that Panthro is still depressed and feeling pointless, and he doesn't want to do anything. They do bring up one thing they've been ignoring until now: what about the Ro-Bear Berbils? They built this whole lair from scratch, certainly they would be available to re-build the lair without having to do anything!

Unfortunately, they're busy working on Castle Plun-Darr. Interesting diversion from the original, and it's also interesting to watch this after the episode of the original that explained the origins of that series' Castle Plun-Darr. At least this species is okay with being slaves, because that means they can build something. They didn't want payment from the people who would pay them.
...actually, come to think of it, they probably wouldn't have any Third Earth money, and it wasn't until this episode where they realized they had diamonds. Hmm, let's let something else distract from this, shall we? Cheetara manages to find Panthro, who was literally under her feet, but he's still depressed and unwilling to just fix what will eventually be broken. Even when our favorite baby king begs him to, he won't budge, so he makes a great plan.

To finally give him a point, Lion-O decides to trash the one room of the Lair Driller didn't destroy: that room with the Thundrillim in it! Now he can fix everything he broke, including that unimportant circle thing he was told would blow everything up! Admittedly, that one wasn't intentional, and Lion-O finally has an expression other than pure happiness over the silly things he does. It might have been more than alarm than anything else, though.
See, as he's basically a kid, he only seems to feel remorse whenever something really goes wrong. The original Lion-O had the excuse that he was a kid. Roar Lion-O is just a really, really silly character in a really, really silly cartoon.

They go to Driller, who is eating popcorn, watching an episode of Building with Berbils. They are really using those Berbils this episode; they must be making up for their lack of appearances since the first episode. Also, how is he even enjoying that popcorn? Is that an alternative fuel source? Whatever.
Panthro, having dots for eyes for no real reason other than they didn't want to finish drawing the ThunderCats, begs Driller to drill, as only drilling can solve this problem somehow. Lion-O tries to handle it, because that worked so well for the rest of the episode, with a speech about drilling.

Or, since Driller is a robotic being, Panthro can just rewire his positronic brain to bypass all of his emotions. Thanks to this rewiring, Driller stops caring about anything, being happy all the time, and he doesn't mind this at all because he's always feeling good. See, all we had to do was essentially brainwash the guy to be good. That's what heroes should do!

To make a long story short, Panthro fixes everything, just as he always does. To make a short story long again, he has the unwillingly-happy Driller drill directly to the core, and then pushes his "Reverse" switch. Somehow, for reasons that are surely different than "this episode needs to end", this stabilizes the core. Even the show is aware of how silly this is.
Lion-O: He stabilized the core by unstabilizing it in reverse!
Tygra: That's how science works!

It's no Respek Knuckles. At this point, I honestly expected a scene where Driller goes backwards, somehow causing the holes to disappear. Maybe that's what happened, but they didn't animate it.

In the end, Driller becomes his...
NEW FRIEND!
Oh hush. As payment for helping him find his point again, not only does he accept his new head rewiring, he offers to fix Panthro's head wiring with his head drill! I guess that's one bit of comeuppance, even if he never gets to do it.
Lion-O reassures Panthro that he will continue to have a point too, as he broke everything already, and the rest of the ThunderCats and Driller laugh at how he has learned nothing. Driller then teleports, and Cheetara asks what was the point of him even being here. I don't really get it.
How does it stack up?
The creep factor of this episode's solution aside, this isn't a terrible episode. Most of it is just Lion-O being silly and not really being that funny outside of maybe a handful of jokes, and the rest is unnotable at worst. It's adequate. Three cats.

Next, unicorns! Yup, they did exist in the original, believe it or not. Honestly, I'd be surprised if they didn't exist in a universe with cat people in it.
