saying "it is not necessary to have sweets every day" should not be seen as controversial, but i have had people go for my throat for that take. its literally unthinkable apparently not to have a sweet treat on the daily (or multiple times per day).

i'm not saying "sugar bad" or anything, it's good to enjoy a little dessert every now and then. but i think a lot of Americans are so used to having a diet high in sugary foods, and it's so normalized and what so many people grew up with, that me saying "your kids don't need to have dessert every day" is accused of toxic diet culture mindset and depriving children of joy.

and the thing is, our sweets are really sweet. you don't notice it when you grew up with it, it just seems normal. but if you travel elsewhere or go on a low-sugar diet, suddenly our ice cream and cookies and donuts seem un-appetizingly overly sweet.

anyways i'm not saying don't give your kids dessert, but i think a lot of Americans underestimate how addicted they are to sweets. if the mere suggestion to limit the intake to once or twice a week gives you a knee-jerk reaction of fear/horror/disgust, "i could never! i earned this!", there is a problem.

Kai raised Nya

And what I mean by ‘raised’ I mean: Of course they had babysitters. But Kai is the one who mostly nurtured Nya. Sure the Babysitters and the Village could have been providing for these two, but what about the other needs?

I imagine he was the one who sometimes cooked for her when the other babysitters were busy. The one who probably helped her with homework, helped her with chores, did his and her laundry. We already see that he at least played games with Nya.

Something I usually do with my little sister is not only help prepare her clothes for school but also prep the table so we can both eat. (Sometimes for the entire family) with Nya and Kai obviously leaning towards Asian cultures, usually the older siblings are seen as the Secondary Parents.

So in a way, he DID raise Nya, not in a sense of a ‘parent’ where they provide the needs and support for the child. But in a way that a brother could possibly provide. Love, Care and Respect.

I would also imagine that the Babysitters never really stayed for long since they have their own homes and families to go back to. Especially since both Nya and Kai remark ‘it was just me and my sibling’ cause most of the time It was just Kai and Nya.

That’s just my interpretation on the ‘Kai raised Nya’ thing. It’s more of an elder sibling instinct than a parenting instinct.

Kinda obsessed with using the decayed skin tone options when customising Durge, especially when paired with the times characters mention they smell like death. Being born of the dead mortal flesh of their father I like the idea that it comes along with a few undead characteristics that they have to cover up with cosmetics (makeup, perfume, etc...)

Had a dream about viktor arcane…… we were in uni together except it was one I didn’t go to/I was actually living on campus instead of just commuting and taking online classes like I’d done irl, and we kept staying up super late in the library or a dorm with the intention to do work, but ended up just hanging out and being silly together instead….. it was so fun I wanna cry and throw up
