till forever falls apart by ashe and finneas
okay first of all: damn. d a m n  what a song. second of all:
this is the ideal song for a jily wartime wedding
I think I’d start it off with the saat phere (as I’ve learned, a hindu wedding tradition where the couple circles a fire (symbolizing agni) seven times, reciting their vows while tied to each other)
to be more precise, in the sixth round of the saat phere, where the bride and groom ask for a peaceful long life with each other, bc i enjoy irony & pain
but u know it would all be very happy!! maybe just a little simmer of the war going on, a mention of a few empty seats at the wedding but not much aside from that
we all know that lily’s sister is shit so instead of petunia stealing james’ shoes (joota chupai) we’re going with the found family route so it would be Sirius, Remus, Dorcas, Marlene and Mary (and Peter) hiding the shoes
it’d be absolute  c h a o s
they were planning on scouting out the wedding venue beforehand to find a good place to hide it
but hadn’t gotten around to it (too much order missions)
and so everyone’s looking for a good hiding place at the very last minute
Marlene, however, has a plan
She goes up to euphemia potter and says: ‘isn’t it a lovely wedding? Such a shame that I don’t have sunscreen, I burn so easily,’
‘Oh dear,’ Euphemia says, ‘no need to worry, here, take my keys, I’ve always got some in my car,’
(marlene knew that already)
(marlene is planning a heist)
(or, at least, that’s what she likes to call it in her head)
she hides the shoes in James’ car
when she comes running back, there’s practically no time before dorcas takes her arm and apparates them
there’s been a death eater attack
lily and james are on the front lines, still in their wedding attire, although james has lost his dupatta and they aren’t tied together anymore
there’s debris everywhere and they’re busy shooting spells
and they’d been living in a bubble for a bit, and lily can admit that but it’d been so nice ignoring everything that was going on
‘can’t believe i have to share you with dumbledore on my wedding day,’ she says
james scoffs a bit, and he’d love to engage in some fun banter but he’s a bit busy evading a stunning spell
‘that almost sounds as if you aren’t having a good time right now,’
lily laughs, ‘well, i had the best time falling into love, nothing can really top that,’
‘yeah,’ james says, a tad wistfully, ‘for a while i was all yours,’
‘fucking dumbledore,’
‘fucking dumbledore,’ james agrees, ‘but at least I’m not married to him,’
‘luckily for me,’ lily hits someone who was about to attack james, ‘but i know it’s only a matter of time before you leave me for him,’
‘what?’ james gasps, affronted, taking her hand and running to where they can see remus and sirius sitting (they haven’t seen mary for a bit. they don’t mention it), ‘don’t say that, i’ll be yours forever’
till forever falls apart, lily thinks, but she doesn’t say it out loud
‘finally you’re joining us,’ sirius calls out, ‘what were you doing back there, having a romantic date?’
he says it the same way he used to in school, eyebrow wiggling and all
‘oh, we were,’ james says, ‘but we realized there’s nothing more romantic than dying with your friends,’
and it shouldn’t be funny, because it’s just a little too close to the truth
but they laugh, what other option do they have?
(crying in the midst of battle isn’t a good idea)
and this fic would end
well
we all know how it ends, don’t we?

ArShi Two Shot: See Red [2/2]
Warning: Mature, frequent use of expletives.
Prompt by @ruminationsofaraven :
Smut: During the Diwali with Aarav, Arnav triggers a fight with Khushi about the money issue and a power struggle ensues - IN BED. #angrysex #blatantrequest
[Part 1]
See Red
To fall into a state of extreme anger, excitement, or competitive arousal, such as might cloud one’s judgement or senses.
“What other things have you observed? Apart from the fact that I wear a lock around my heart, or that I should be married to my office - which I can’t because I happened to be married to you - or I’m an arrogant, ignorant prick-” The last words died as Khushi grabbed his face and captured his moving lips with her soft ones.
In a second his breath, control and heart knocked right off his body.
She threaded her finger through his hair, holding fistfuls of it. Arnav’s hands immediately left the wall and wrapped around her frame, squeezing her hips as he tilted his head to deepen the kiss.
Just as he grabbed her thigh, she bit his lower lip.
“Ow, what the-”
“Insufferable. You’re insufferable as well.” She murmured, pressing hot kisses on the bruised lip. Arnav grinned, his caresses turning frantic. Without tact or warning, he pressed his pelvis onto hers, preventing her from moving away. Khushi moaned, his arousal lighting a fire across her body.
He tore his lips away from hers and pulled on her dori, snapping it into two.
“You must detest me.” He provoked.
“Not you, never you, but your damned wealth and haughtiness.” She arched, grinding her hips against his when he slipped a hand under her dupatta and caressed her flat stomach.
“You must hate all the jewelry,” He suggested, pulling on the clasp of her necklace.
“Absolutely.” She agreed. With not much grace he threw the necklace and earrings on the floor. No matter the argument, he was her husband and it was his duty to get rid of anything that offended her. And he was never more thankful that she hated expensive jewelry and clothes.
“And sometimes you make me so angry,” She muttered as he tore through her million strings.
“So angry…” Her hands flew to his kurta, blindly searching for the buttons. Damn him! How could she think if he sucked on her collarbone?
A loud rip echoed. Arnav startled, broke off the kiss and stared at his torn kurta.
“I couldn’t find the buttons.” Khushi confessed. Arnav had never been more glad to see an AR outfit in shreds.
“That’s why I hate kurtas.” He, working on the rest of the damned buttons.
“Don’t blame the kurta, I’d blame the owner of this particular fashion house for not making an easy kurta.” Khushi replied, her voice as calm as if they were chatting in the office - in public - about the latest designs. Not as if she was standing in her ruined choli that hung low on her breasts and the lehenga that only stayed because of the swell of her hips.
Arnav’s kurta joined Khushi’s jewelry - on the floor - and he grabbed her choli to tug it off, but there was still one damned string in place. How many strings did this blouse have?
“What’s the owner’s fault?” He murmured, attempting to untie the final string.
“I heard he is anything but-”
“-fuck-” Arnav yanked on the string.
“-intuitive.” Khushi unhooked the choli, spun away from him and wrapped her dupatta around her before Arnav could see more of what he desperately wanted to. Her heart hammered in her ribs. Arnav, slowly, turned to her, her choli in his hand. His torso was deliciously naked and his pants were tied low on hips.
His arousal was hard to miss.
In three quick steps Arnav had her against the cupboard.
“I disagree.” With one small tug of his fingers her lehenga pooled down her legs, leaving her in nothing but a barely there piece of fabric between her thighs and a sheer, red dupatta wrapped around her frame.
It hid nothing. His Adam’s apple bobbed.
With one hand holding the dupatta, Khushi reached for his churidar and pulled the string. It did not fall as graciously as her lehenga, rather it was oddly stuck around his muscled calf and ankles for all the numerous hooks holding it in place.
Arnav struggled to get the chiffon churidar off him.
“You stand corrected, again.” Arnav tore off his pants and grabbed the end of her elbow, the impact threw them straight on the bed. Her on top of him. In a flash he held her wrists above her head, her dupatta free to his will. Finally, for all his love of sheer clothing, he absolutely despised it on Khushi. It gave him enough to pique his curiosity, but hid enough to keep him guessing.
“I am never wrong Khushi.” His teeth grazed her lips.
Khushi replied by turning her face away from him. There was no way she was kissing this egoistic mouth right now! But she spread her thighs, allowing him to settle in between. Oh he was as ready as her.
Arnav chased her lips, fighting to be as much in contact as their hips were.
“Give up Miss Gupta.” He persisted, kissing whatever he could reach. The corner of her lips, her jaw, neck.
“Never.” She moaned, her legs trembling and wrapping around his hips. Arnav sucked hard on her neck, groaning as he drove into her. He quickly sat up on his knees and pulled her up to him. Without another word he wrenched the dupatta away.
Khushi pushed him flat on the bed and sat on him, leaning down for a hard kiss. His fingers roughly traced her, from thighs to ribs. Khushi held his wandering hands and held it above his head. Arnav raised an eyebrow, that was his move. She leaned forward, her breasts grazing his chest and he arched up to take a tight peak into his mouth.
A second later his hands were stuck, and he realised Khushi tied him up with her dupatta to the bed frame.
“What the fuck?” He cursed, surprised and aroused beyond coherence.
“Now you give up Mr. Raizada.” Khushi hissed, nipping on his ear.
“Khushi, untie me.” He groaned as Khushi bathed every bite with a soft lick.
“No, I’ve finally got you in one place and you’re going to listen to me.” She warned, tugging on the waistband of his briefs.
“Khushi I’m warning you.” Khushi knew what a warning was, and this was anything but.
They had lost too much time arguing. And there was no way she’d give up an argument. Nor sex. So why waste time when she can do both?
“Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada is always right.” She scratched down his happy trail, eyes sparkling in challenge. Arnav was positively furious. If he did not have his hands on her in a minute he would combust and-
Oh!
Khushi removed the last strip of undergarment and held him in her small hands.
“Khu-shi, this is my final warn-oh fuck me.” Arnav collected his scattered thoughts as he felt her breath.
“First stop this argument and take back everything you said.” Khushi whispered.
“N-I-” Arnav lost his train of thought as she sat on him, an image of perfect innocence and wildest fantasies.
“Enough!” With one final tug Arnav broke the bed frame, freed his wrists and flipped her on the bed. He hovered above her and touched her core.
“Enough games Miss. Gupta.” He bit her neck and fondled her curves, cursing and sighing simultaneously.
“It’s Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Rai-” Khushi choked as he filled her in one swift thrust. Why did she have such a long name? She scratched his broad shoulders, taking his mouth in hot, wet kisses. Their tongues met, thrusting as eagerly as their hips.
“You. Stubborn. Woman.” He punctuated each word with a thrust. Khushi grabbed her shoulders, arching off the bed as he pistoned in and out of her in fury and passion. The cords of his neck stood out, tension rolled off his biceps as he grunted, whispering her name like a prayer.
Khushi wrapped her legs tight around his hips. Her lips, neck and breasts red and swollen from his kisses. His stubble deliciously chafed her sensitive skin.
“Coming,” he breathed, giddy from her scratches and bites. Khushi muffled her sobs in his shoulder, begging him to go faster, harder. They came, cursing and moaning aloud. Hands gripping the other hard enough to never let go. Blood rushed through their body, heartbeats pounded in their ears.
Arnav slumped over Khushi. Their bodies were slick in sweat. A long moment later, she gently pushed his hair away from his forehead and he took her in a soft, tired kiss that said everything they wanted to hear.
Always?
Hamesha.
---
An hour later, in the dead of night, Arnav and Khushi sat in a hot bath. They hissed from a few deep scratches and stubble burns. He wrapped his hands around her and they settled in an embrace.
“I didn’t mean to say that,” Khushi began, leaning further into him as he massaged the base of her neck. Arnav raised an eyebrow. What?
“AR rose and sustained because of your success. I am genuinely proud of you.” She pressed a soft kiss on his cheek, “It is your baby. But Aarav, he is our baby Arnav.”
Arnav stilled and sighed.
“I know Khush, but I don’t want Aarav to ever feel like he doesn’t have a roof on his head.” He never wanted Aarav to feel the way he did when his uncle kicked him and his sister out of their house. Khushi turned to face him, seeing his vulnerability and the baggage of his past.
“With you by his side, he won’t ever feel that. But… you can’t buy belonging with money Arnav.” Khushi placed her fingers on his lips before he could protest.
“No, listen to me Arnav. I also know how it is to lose family. But I also know what it is to gain one. Babuji, Amma, Jiji and Buaji could not afford every luxury in life for me, but it did not matter because after they made me their own.” Khushi leaned on his chest, her eyes tearing up with fond memories.
“Yes, my best skill is making jalebis.” Arnav tsked at her, even if it was the words he said a while back- Khushi, in his eyes, was worth much more.
“But jalebis are not just my favourite sweet. I love them because Babuji taught me how to make them and how to run a sweet shop. I knew I was his child the day he handed his secret recipes and business in my hands. An outsider’s hands.” Khushi turned to look at him and cupped his face.
“Arnav, I want Aarav to grow up and be like you - not manage an Empire but be capable of building one by himself. To be so capable that if I die-ouch!” Khushi shrieked as Arnav pinched her waist.
“Kya?!”
“Why do you have to speak about dying?” He growled.
“Arnav, it’s just about me-”
“Exactly.” Arnav pointed out.
“Par Arnav-”
“No Khush, when you’re making sense and having a conversation then why do you have to speak about this bullshit of-” Khushi hugged him and stopped his tirade.
“Acha baba, don’t be angry.” Khushi looked up and stopped herself from laughing at his sullen face. With his wet hair askew, soap under his ears and that adorable, unintentional pout, he looked a decade younger than he was.
Khushi splashed some water and washed the soap off - not that it wiped off his grumpiness.
“I love you,” She whispered. Arnav rolled his eyes, knowing it was her tactic to get him to smile. But he wouldn’t, even if she was naked, warm, and right against his heart.
“-damn it.” She added and fiddled with her eyebrows to get one to raise individually. Finally, he cracked a smile.
“Me too. And I’m sorry, I didn’t-”
“-mean it? Don’t worry, by now I know that Arnav Singh Raizada doesn’t mean anything much of what he says to me apart from ‘of course farak padta hai’, ‘I love you damn it’, ‘what the-’ and ‘hh-haa-ha-haapy singh’s garage’!” Khushi chuckled and screamed when Arnav tickled her, tackling her in the tub.
A few laughs later, Khushi settled back on his chest.
“Khush?” He dragged his fingers through her scalp.
“Hmm…” Her eyes were slowly drooping.
“Will I be as good as Babuji?” He looked down at her. Khushi took his hand and pressed a solid kiss to his wrist.
“You will. As long as you know you have the right to love, fight, teach and learn from Aarav. Be his friend first, and guide him. Make him the man you can depend on.” Arnav kissed the top of her head. Tomorrow he and Khushi would speak to Aarav. Perhaps it was time to let him know that just like him, they had lost their parents as well.
He glanced down at Khushi and cut back a laugh. She was out cold, snoring softly. He picked her hand and pressed a soft kiss on her knuckles
Seeing this as a golden opportunity that she would never remember, he whispered, “You’re right Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada.”
“I KNEW IT!” And that damned minx had the gall to open her eyes and flash a wink at him!
“Khush!” Arnav shot out of the tub and ran behind her as she grabbed all the towels and headed to the bedroom.
Oh he was going to get her!

His wedding ring shines softly in the dim lighting of the hallway as he stands in front of the door, hand resting on its handle. The wood is cold against his forehead as he  breathes slowly, trying to calm his foxtrot heart. After three-quarters of an eternity, he knocks, and then enters upon the permission of his wife from within the room. Almost stumbles at the sight of her, as if he doesn't know her ethereal beauty like every speck of sunshine in her eyes.
She's sitting at the foot of the bed, the skirt of her glowing, white-golden lehenga spread out in front of her, her dupatta draped over her head and behind her to lay and glimmer like stardust over their silk sheets. Bucky's tie tightens around his neck and he lifts a hand to rub it nervously, and clears his throat, as she smiles reassuringly at him.
His wife, his moon and star, is tired and pleased, after the day's festivities. As is he. The wedding reception - held secretively in the same ballroom as his birthday - was quite the celebration.
"Hey," She says, unwavering, ever the anchor to ground his meandering mind. He stands in front of the mirror now, untying his tie, letting the silk slip through his hands like her love did for so, so long.
"Hey back," He answers with a grin as he removes his waistcoat. Drapes it over a nearby chair before sitting down to remove his socks. Relishes in the warmth of her content gaze as it washes over him. "How are you feeling?" He asks, leaning back to take her in.
"Tired, but happy. Today was a good day, Bucky," She says, and he couldn't agree more. Not one to mince words where they are not needed, he walks over to her as he unbuttons the top of his shirt and kneels in front of her.
"Tired, huh? Anything I can help with, wife of mine?" He teases, trying to pretend to take one of her legs in his hand to massage, but is soon bewildered by the fact that he can't, the layers of fabric impeding his intentions.
"Maybe I should be asking you that," She laughs, no malice in her amusement, only joy, and total awe at this man on his knees before her. He growls lowly and pushes up to meet her smiling mouth with his own, raspberries and gulab-jamun a magical mix he thinks he could live off of, if allowed to. Her lips are his aab e hayat - water of life - and he drinks her breaths until he hopes he will never go thirsty again. They part slowly, lips still grazing gently, and he returns to his crouching position at her feet.
Until she frowns and stands up, urging him to do the same. Guides his hands to the pins holding her dupatta to her head and shoulders - he should not be thinking of superhero capes right now - and urges him to remove it. He slips it off with nimble fingers, and it slides off her and down the bed to puddle in a pool of gold on the floor. She doesn't let him reach for it, lifts her hands to cup his face, her own illuminated by the moonlight. Traces the planes of his cheeks and the valley between his brow and eyelids. Having taken her heels off, she stretches on tip-toe to plant a kiss on the ski-slope of his nose, the crevice of his chin, before sealing her lips over his again.
Bucky's hands, distinctly different but both unified in their desire, reach up to loosen her hair-do before burying themselves in the soft, comforting mass of it, using the grip to bring her somehow, some way, closer to him. Her whimpers are feather-soft against his tongue, her hands shaking as one grips his waist and the other reaches for the remaining buttons on his shirt. Her desire is contagious, amplifying his own tenfold, and his hands glide her back, coming to rest over the elegant embroidery at her waist.
"Can I take it off?" She whispers with unbridled arousal in her eyes, and Bucky now realizes his shirt has been fully unbuttoned. He nods, lets her take it away. Lets her take him away. And God, does she take him away.
His wife, his golden woman takes him to a world where demons lose their power and no sound exists except the rustle of their bedsheets as they settle on them, and her gentle whispers of assent and encouragement. He forgets the planetarium when he has a galaxy in his hands, under his palms. The column of her neck is a nebula against his mouth, her waist a solar system between his arms. She kisses him like he's going to fly away, but he knows that the planet of her smile is his only home. The only place he can breathe right, the sun he needs to survive, is right here, not a millimeter apart.
The move like satin and soft clouds between parted mouths and gasping breaths, as they join forever, till death do them part. And after, after the tide crashes over the beach of their shore, bringing satiation and deep union with it, they lay together, her head on his chest and his heavy with the weight of the universe he has just gained.
"Today was a good day," He echoes her earlier sentiment against her hair, voice rich with desire. A laugh rumbles through her cheek to his chest, and his heart is fit to burst. Something gives her the energy to lift her head and lean on an elbow above him, a free finger tracing any eyebrow as he traces her smile.
"I almost fell over about a dozen times, Bucky. But yeah, other than that…" She reminds him playfully, and he rolls his eyes.
"I don't blame you, baby. Not in those heels," He points out. Throwing her head back, she laughs fully this time, and his cheeks hurt from grinning. "I still can't believe Sam danced to Katrina Kaif," He says, shaking his head. Her hand drops from where its busy tucking his hair behind his ear, and her responding smile is blinding.
"Wow, Buck, referring to Bollywood singers by name instead of song. I'm proud of you," She jokes.
"I had a good teacher."
"Anything else I can help with?" She asks, parroting his earlier comment as he had tried and failed to find her skin beneath her clothes. He found it in the end, and he'll be damned if he ever loses it, forgets the feel of it on his fingertips, ever again. He nods sincerely at her question, preparing the answer.
"Yeah. Stay," He replies quietly, and the laughter falls from her eyes to be replaced by brimming desire and overflowing love. This, Bucky knows, because it is a reflection of his own.
"Okay, Bucky. I can do that. We can stay," She says, before pulling the covers further over them, nestling against him. His arm fits like a puzzle-piece around her body, their intertwined forms the complete picture.
Her words ring louder than the azaan in his ears as the silence envelopes them once more. Her embrace is kinder than he thought he deserved, but that he is imprinting into his memory, inch by glorious inch. Her hand rests on his chest, feeling his heartbeat thrum below, steady and alive. Bucky grabs that hand and brings it to his mouth, lays a snowflake of a kiss against the back of it as he thinks: love doesn't need second chances - it just takes a little faith.

Came A Rude CommentThey Looked Up To Find Neha Standing There With Her Second Husband Rohit"Neha Tum?"Dev And Sona Said In A Shocked Tone"Han Bhai Main. Kyu Khushi Nahi Hui Apni Behen Ko Dekhkar? Aur Hogi Bhi Kyu Biwi Ke Ghulam Jo Ban Gaye Ho Aap." Neha Taunted Looking At Sonskshi"Neha!!!" Dev Shouted"Apna Muh Band Rakh. Meri Biwi Se Aise Baat Karne Ka Koi Haq Nahi Banta Tujhe. Us Ghar Se,Ma Se Alag Hone Ka Faisla Mera Tha Kisi Ne Bhi Mujhe Force Nahi Kiya. Aur Rahi Baat Ma Ki To Mai Abhi Bhi Apne Bete Hone Ka Farz Bhoola Nahi Hun. Uski Har Zaroorat Ko Poora Karna,Uski Sehat Ka Khyaal Rakhna,Usse Milna Ye Sab Aaj Bhi Karta Hun Mai.""Aaj Mai Agar Alag Hun To Sirf Uski Apni Insecurity Ki Wajah Se,Usne Kabhi Sona Ko Samjha Hi Nahi,Use Apnaya Hi Nahi. Uske Pota Poti Bhi Usse Har Hafte Milte Hai Maine Usse Uska Koi Haq Nahi Cheena. Aur Main Bhi Usse Yahi Ummeed Karta Tha Ki Wo Mujhse Meri Khushi Meri Sona Ko Mujhse Alag Na Kare. Jo Hona Tha Wo Ho Gaya Ab Hum Sab Apni Chhoti Si Duniya Me Bahut Khush Hai. Isse Pehle Ki Mai Kuch Aisa Waisa Bol Dun Aur Tujhe Bura Lag Jaye Tu Chali Ja Yaha Se" Dev Vented Out His FrustrationAfter Hearing This Neha Was Going To Retort But His Husband Took Her Away From There Understanding The Seriousness Of The SituationHe Turned Back Only To Find Sonakshi In Tears. His Heart Broke. He Can't See Her PainHe Gently Held Her Hands And Made Her Look Into His Eyes And Gave A Slight Nod Gesturing Her To Speak"Dev Aap Jaante Hai Na Maine Kabhi Bhi Aapko Ma Se Alag Nahi Karna Chaha. Mai Waise Ladki Nahi Hun Dev,Mai To Sabke Saath Miljulkar Rehna Chahti Thi But..."Shh...Chup Ho Jao Sona." Dev Said Before She Could Complete Her Sentence"Jo Kuch Bhi Hua Usme Tumhari Koi Galti Nahi Hai,Samjhi Tum?"Apne Aap Ko Doshi Samajhna Band Kar Do.""Us Din Agar Ma Ne Wo Prenup Ke Papers Mujhe Na Diye Hote To Mai Kabhi Unke Andar Tumhare Liye Jo Nafrat Hai Use Kabhi Samajh Hi Nahi Paata""Us Din Unhone Mujhe Unke Aur Tumhare Beech Me Kisi Ek Ko Chose Karne Ko Bola. Tabhi Mai Samajh Gaya Ki Hum Teeno Ek Chhat Ke Neeche Kabhi Bhi Ek Saath Nahi Reh Sakte."He Wiped Her Tears And Said "I Am Glad That I Chose You. Look We Are A Complete Family Now."He Spread His Arms And Both The Kids Ran And Hugged Him And Their MomDev Said "Our Family Is Perfect!" "Just Perfect"Added Devansh And Suhana Happily.Sonakshi Smiled And Thanked God For Blessing Her With Such Loving People In Her Life And Prayed To Keep Any Evil Eye Far Away From Her Family.                        The End Writer: DevakshiLover

After three-day long festivities and an intimate wedding ceremony, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja made their first public appearance as husband and wife at their star-studded reception in Mumbai. Dressed to perfection in shades of black and metallic grey the couple walked in hand-in-hand and flashed their brightest smiles for the cameras. The newly-wed fashion-forward pair notably couldn’t keep their eyes off each other as they posed together for the shutterbugs.
While sticking to the traditional dressing theme for most of her pre-wedding events, Sonam opted for a modern look at her reception wearing a chevron pattern lehenga paired with a grey choli and metallic dupatta, from Anamika Khanna. Hubby dearest looked quite the prince charming in a sherwani and his choice of footwear caught its due attention. Talking about staying comfortable. The reception that is taking place at a five star hotel in the city, will play host to a number of Bollywood stars including Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput, Kangana Ranaut, Rekha, Vidya Balan, Rajkumar Hirani apart from the Kapoor and Ahuja families.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are now husband and wife! The longtime lovers got married in a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony at Rockdale in Mumbai. The wedding was an intimate and private affair with family and close friends in attendance. While Sonam looked lovely in an Anamika Khanna creation, Anand Ahuja donned a beige sherwani for D-Day. Apart from the Kapoor clan, Sonam’s ‘Veere Di Wedding’ co-stars Swara Bhasker and Kareena Kapoor Khan with husband Saif Ali Khan and son Taimur attended the wedding from the bride’s side besides Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta Nanda and others. We wish the newlyweds our heartiest congratulations!!! by Ruchi Kaushal
The most awaited picture of actress Sonam Kapoor is here and it is proof that she makes for the most beautiful bride in B-town. The ‘Khoobsurat’ actress looks ethereal in her bridal glory as she dons a red and gold Anuradha Vakil lehenga and heavy traditional jewellery complete with a matha-patti and chooda. She ties the knot with fiancé Anand Ahuja today in a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony (Anand Karaj) today being held at Rockdale 11:30 am onwards.
And the D-Day has finally arrived! We just caught hold of the first look of the groom Anand Ahuja, who is all smiles moments before his wedding to Sonam Kapoor.
Decked in a muted gold sherwani and a pagadi with ruby beads around his neck, Anand looks majestic as he enters the venue.
The wedding takes place at Rockdale between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm amid the attendance of close friends and family. It will be followed by a grand reception that will be hosted later this evening.
Catch a glimpse of the best pics from the ceremony which deserve to be a part of the couple’s wedding album…
It was Sonam Kapoor’s sangeet last night and the ‘Khoobsurat’ actress looked like a princess by all means in a white lehenga complete with white kundan and pearl jewellery. Glowing how a bride should, with her henna adorned hands, Sonam was definitely the star attraction. Fiance Anand Ahuja too turned up in white to complement her to perfection. The star-studded function was held at her aunt’s luxurious bungalow at Bandra Kurla Complex and the guests arrived in compliance with the theme of the evening – Indian festive, in shades of white.
Sonam Kapoor’s traditional mehendi ceremony took place a night before making the diva a free bird for her sangeet. The ‘Neerja’ actress who stunned in a white chikankari Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga, later adorned a floral necklace and bangles as part of the following mehendi rituals. Her chooda ceremony was also performed during the function in the presence of the near and dear ones. She later covered the bangles with a pink cloth in order hide it before the wedding day, as per customs. Interestingly, she failed to drop the kaleere on cousin Janhvi Kapoor’s head which finally landed on Anshula Kapoor, hinting at the latter to be the next one to get hitched.
Sonam Kapoor can boast of quite a few BFFs in Bollywood who turned up on time in compliance with the white theme for the lady’s sangeet-mehendi function. While Katrina Kaif looked ultra glamourous in a shimmery saree-gown, Jacqueline Fernandez was at her chirpiest best in a light-weight lehenga complete with a bindi and gajra. Going by the clips from the event, Sonam grooved on ‘Chittiyaan kalaiyaan’ while Jacqueline was seen hooting during the act.
Sonam Kapoor’s cousins Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor turned up in beautiful white embroidered lehengas complete with kundan jewellery for the do. On the other hand, Boney Kapoor’s daughter Anshula Kapoor looked lovely in a white lehenga with a huge mang-tika pulling off the Punjabi kudi look with elan. Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor and wife Maheep Kapoor chose beige for the sangeet and nailed it. The father of the bride Anil Kapoor was in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla kurta pajama whereas Sonam’s brother Harshvardhan, sister Rhea and mother Sunita too dressed up in their best white attires to host the evening.
Sonam Kapoor’s mehendi-cum-sangeet function turned out to be the biggest starry night of the year with family and friends joining the Kapoors for dance and celebration. While the family was the first one to arrive at the venue – the residence of Sonam Kapoor’s aunt Kavita Singh – at Bandra Kurla Complex, the who’s who of the B-town started arriving in on time in compliance with the theme – festive wear in the shades of white. All, from Rekha, Farah Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Masaba Gupta, Varun Dhawan dropped by to join in the celebrations.
Bollywood’s fashionista Sonam Kapoor ties the knot today in a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony ‘Anand Karaj’ with her longtime beau Anand Ahuja in Mumbai. The true-blue Punjabi family had kept the mehendi ceremony held at their Juhu residence a family affair, with the whole extended family, the groom’s side and a few celebs like Karan Johar, Siddhanth Kapoor who are more like family joining in to cheer the bride-to-be.
When the eager fans were waiting to get a glimpse of the bride-to-be Sonam, it was her childhood friend Kunal Rawal who shared the first picture from her mehendi ceremony with the couple’s trademark hashtag #everydayphenomenal. While Sonam looked beautiful and happy with her henna laden hands and feet, her prince charming Anand Ahuja joined her to add his magic in a white kurta pajama topped with a pink Nehru jacket. Sonam donned a lavender and peach lehenga for the day with minimal make-up and jewellery in order to pull the attention to her bridal mehendi.
This beautiful picture makes for Sonam Kapoor’s best mehendi moment. The lady looks gorgeous as ever in her bridal glow as she breaks into a laughter for the lens. The amazing shot was shared by none other than sister Rhea Kapoor who has also co-produced her film ‘Veere Di Wedding’. Rhea captioned the image, “What it’s all about. My #everydayphenomenal.” While everyone turned up in traditional white keeping in line with the evening’s theme, Sonam kept the spotlight to herself in a traditional lavender and peach lehenga.
Karan Johar arrived for Sonam Kapoor’s mehendi ceremony in a pristine white modern kurta keeping up with the unconventional ‘white’ theme for the evening. The filmmaker, who is also set to perform on her sangeet, bowled away the ladies with his charm and shared a picture with the Kapoors girls along with the caption, “Celebrations begin!!! #sonamkishaadi.” From the left are Shanaya Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, KJo, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, while he also made place for Jahaan Kapoor and father Sanjay Kapoor.
Sonam Kapoor is known for her experiments with fashion and her fans have been totally clueless about her choices for her own wedding. The diva never fails to surprise us all with her comfortable yet chic airport looks or her out of the blue ethnic delights. The ‘Khoobsurat’ actress changed to a night suit after her mehendi ceremony as she relaxed post the grueling henna session. Looking completely at ease and grinning from ear to ear ahead of her big day, Sonam shows off her henna laden hands and feet in the comforts of her house.

Kismet The trail of our life
Fleeing the dust away in the rumbling auto her eyes fell on the sparkle on the windshield of a passing car. It felt like déjà vu.
A similar scenario- A polished girl, flashing her solitaire in a chauffeur driven car.
A bump on the road brings her back to the dusty roads of chowk. Covering her slender greasy face with the soft chiffon dupatta, she jolts down at her stop. This was no more a chore for Gauhar, but a routine. While walking back to her chawl, she could do nothing except replaying the events of the day and curse her kismet. She recalls the day when her admission at the university was celebrated like a festival with her 3 sisters and Ammi Jaan. All these seem distant to her after the constant bullying sessions she had to face in her class.
She could spot Khala Rubina talking to her Ammi in hushed tones at the gate of her chawl. Sensing a bit of discomfort on her arrival among the ladies, she greeted them and resumed her daily chores. After her Abba jaan left her family to marry another lady who was worthy of giving him a son, Gauhar became immune to any kind of pain this harsh world could inflict on her. She has faced a lot of bitterness and as a result turned aloof towards any kind of emotion. Lacking the grace and beauty her sisters possessed, she was left with nothing but to work hard to earn some status in the patriarchal society. Although she was oddly happy about this fact since she hated the very mention of any male name in her vicinity. Her two sisters were married off at an early age due to the adverse financial conditions but fortunately were quiet happy in their married lives. Ruksana, the eldest one, lived with her shauhar in Hyderabad while Kashaf, the youngest of the three, lived with her shauhar and his family in a nearby locality. Gauhar had always been the brightest of the three and probably was the only girl in the area to join a university.
With only two of them left, Gauhar and her Ammi taught the chawl kids at meager fees to earn a decent living and afford her university expenses. The dinner time was usually the only time when they both spent some quality time together. Today Gauhar could sense an air of hesitation around her Ammi. On constant asking, she reluctantly explained to Gauhar the purpose of Khala Rubina’s visit today. Khala came to ask Gauhar’s hand for his widowed son, Farooq. Gauhar could feel her ears burning with the words falling in them. She could no longer gulp the bland food in and bustled out of the chawl to clear her head. While strolling through the sultry lanes of chawl, all she could think of was the condition of her Ammi when her Abba left her with 3 hungry mouths to feed. She knew she wasn’t that strong; she still lacked a purpose in life and was not prepared to spend a life with a person she hardly knew. Gauhar had known Farooq since they were children, but she had never even dared to look him into the eye let alone share a few words.
The next morning was quite usual at Gauhar’s chawl, except the restlessness she could spot in her Ammi. She knew the reason because it was Gauhar, herself. Choosing to keep quiet, she got ready in her salwaar kameez, grabbed her rugged bag and a piece of stale bread as her breakfast. On the way to university, she could not help but notice the married girls she could spot nearby- a newly-wed riding on a scooter with her husband, tugging to her shauhar’s kurta with her eyes kept low and a group of 3 ladies chattering about their households while returning after dropping their children at school. At that very instant, she was sure and adamant about her answer- she was definitely not one of them.
“Miss Gauhar?” startled and perplexed by hearing her name in a class of hundred and five students she got up from her day dreaming. Professor Sharma sighed, “The principal has asked for you in his office immediately.” Replaying the bullying incidents that have happened to her innumerable of times she counted her steps nervously to the main office through the silent corridors. To her relief this was not a prank and she was greeted by a rather nervous version of the old and feeble Principal, Fawad sir. Gauhar was among the top scorers of her class and a silver medalist in her university. Being called inside the Principal’s office in the middle of a lecture was an unusual practice for her. Mr. Fawad could sense the discomfort on Gauhar’s face and hence offered her to take a seat and be comfortable as he wants to have a really important word with her. Mr. Fawad was not merely a professor for Gauhar but a real life mentor and ideal. She followed his advice on the pettiest of issues and he was more like a father figure in her life. They shared a closed bond and thus it did not take her even a minute to figure out that something bad had happened. Mr. Fawad could not keep it in further and told Gauhar about her Ammi’s critical condition.
As soon as Gauhar had left her chawl to reach early for her lecture, her mother had suffered a severe cardiac arrhythmia. She was taken to the nearby government hospital by her neighbors and was currently out of any sort of danger. Though her condition was very critical when she reached the hospital, the doctors were able to control her heartbeat using a defibrillator. On hearing this, Gauhar could feel nothing but numbness in her whole body. She felt her legs shiver below her. Unable to stand and utter a single word, she began to sob. She knew what had pushed her Ammi into this condition. She was the only one to be blamed. Her Ammi jaan had no troubles in marrying her sisters but the thought of Gauhar’s marriage has been eating her from inside. Coming of age, Gauhar had no decent marriage proposals left. The only ones to approach her now were either double her age and widowed or were some drunkards with many other vices. Her denial for Farooq’s proposal has hurt her Ammi beyond repairs as she knew this was the last hope they have.
Sitting beside her Ammi’s bed all Gauhar could think of, was her ambitions and dreams of becoming someone greater than just a wife. Her dreams seem too distant now. The stench of medicines and antiseptics brought her back to the reality; the reality where she was nothing but a girl.
A girl with no father; a girl whose face held nothing that would make someone fall in love with her; a girl who would never be able to be a son for her family; a girl who was about to kill her Ammi with her own burden.
Tears welled up in her eyes; she knew she could not ask for more.
“Salaam Walekum Rubina, I have great news for you. Gauhar said yes for Farooq. Mashallah! I could not ask for more. All my prayers have been answered.” Gauhar could hear her Ammi’s cheerful voice from behind her chawl. She had no idea what her fate held for her but she was sure it was nothing she could avoid now. Dates for her nikkah and walima were fixed and people started congratulating her for her new life. Invites were sent to her close relatives and arrangements were made. Despite being helpless and sad, Gauhar could not help but smile when she found her Ammi jumping around the chawls spreading the news for her wedding.
The day came and everything went as planned. Gauhar was escorted by Ruksana and Kashaf to the marriage hall. She wore a simple anarkali suit and appeared to be at peace. Accepting her fate was her only option after all. The wedding was a closed affair and all the functions were over in a jiffy.
As the day passed, her horrors became real. Gauhar hardly had any encounter with Farooq through the entire ceremony and was now waiting for her shauhar, in his room, on his bed. While waiting for him, she noticed her reflection in the mirror; she could no longer recognize the person. Once again remorse took over her and within no time she dozed off while sobbing on her pillow.
Waking up in an entirely new place gave her a stat at first. Adjusting her sight, her eyes fell on the bed side table. She found a sparkly gift along with a note.
Good Morning Gauhar jaan! Hope you have a nice day     - Farooq
Gauhar could feel her ears turning hot and cheeks becoming red. Unaccustomed to such greetings, she kept the note safely with her belongings and opened the gift. The glittering ring caused her gleaming eyes to water and she could no longer hold herself. Farooq’s gesture had finally made her feel beautiful, after 28 long years of her life.
To her surprise, she found herself waiting for Farooq as the day set in. Khala Rubina’s words fell on deaf ears and she got nothing more than a few empty nods from Gauhar. As the clock struck 9, she heard the rumbling of a scooter in the verandah and rushed to the kitchen to garnish the food she has cooked with her mother-in-law’s help. On the dinner table, Khala could spot the exchange of shy smiles between the newly wed and excused herself. Gauhar noticed Farooq’s appearance for the first time in years. His wheatish complexioned slender face complemented her physique quite well. He appeared to be in his early thirties with only a fraction of grey hair. Gauhar could feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach and after overcoming the debate going on in her mind, Gauhar initiated the conversation. She thanked Farooq for the beautiful gift and apologized for falling asleep on their wedding night. Farooq smiled at her and proceeded to keep the utensils in the sink. His little gestures amused Gauhar and forced her to think of Farooq like she has never thought for anyone else.
In their bedroom, Farooq seemed to be waiting for Gauhar. He knew about all the drama that had preceded Gauhar’s approval for the marriage proposal and wanted to clear some matters with her. Gauhar had never known what kind of person Farooq was and was now quite eager to know him in person.
The gleaming moon was soon replaced by broad daylight, but Gauhar and Farooq could find no end to their conversation. They discussed about every aspect of their life- her notions and dreams, his first marriage, her feelings towards her Abba, his condition on his first wife’s death, her complexes and his dreams to build a family with her. All it took was one night to turn these strangers into best friends. Gauhar could never have imagined her life to turn out this way.
The next day Khala Rubina heard a knock on the door and called for Gauhar, complaining about her old age and joint pains. There was a man with 2 cartons standing outside their place. Gauhar was clueless about the whereabouts and called up Farooq when the man named him. Farooq informed Gauhar to place the cartons in their bedroom and discuss about it later that night. After doing as instructed, Gauhar could not wait till night and out of sheer curiosity opened one of the carton boxes. It had piles of books and stationery items. She proceeded with the other box and was confused in finding the same contents. She opened a few books and after going through the contents she realized what has just happened. Farooq has sent all these books and stationery for Gauhar to complete her university studies. The boxes had her old books along with some new ones to help her clear the final exams that were due. Gauhar could not have asked for more. She was left spellbound and with teary eyes opened her books and started what was never meant to stop.
A month passed and during this Gauhar was mostly seen deep buried in her books and notes, memorizing formulas and equations. There were times when Farooq would massage her head with oil to calm her down or brought home her favorite gulab jamun when she had a tough paper the next day. Within no time Gauhar was done with all her papers and was now all ready to soak in the cooking skills her mother-in-law has promised to teach her.
Sitting on her sofa, watching Farooq fumble through the newspaper to see her final year result and Khala Rubina praying to all her Gods for good luck and blessings; there was nothing more that Gauhar could ask for.
Overcoming all her complexes and fears, she felt beautiful and loved; after all that was all she ever wanted.
