🎭- favorite halloween costume?

i went as pacifica northwest for halloween when i was 15, and that was such a fun costume for me!!! i did her outfit from northwest mansion mystery so i had a long black boa and long gloves and this purple dress i found at goodwill that was actually really cute. i had so much fun with that outfit.

📽-favorite halloween film?

hmmmmmm probably Its the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I also rewatched The Cabinet of Dr Caligari and A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and even tho theyre not really Halloweeny movies they are still spooky so those too i guess. Also Over the Garden Wall (if you watch it all in one sitting)!!!!!

🧛🏼‍♂️- as a kid, what monster scared you the most?

oh boy its not really a monster but the spirit of La Llorona. i grew up in New Mexico and in forth grade we watched this video where they like retold her story but set it in Santa Fe, the state capital. for those that arent familiar with the tale, the basic jist of it is that theres this woman who marries a guy who ends up cheating on her and leaving her for another woman. she goes mad with grief, and then throws her two children into a rushing river. once she comes back to her senses, she realizes whats shes done, so she starts searching for them frantically, only to trip on a rock and die herself. According to legend, her spirit wanders the waterways of the southwest usa, mexico and central america, searching for her lost children. if she finds a mortal child tho, she will grab them and drown them, because she thinks they are hers. The video then cut to a section where some guy told us this story about how he and his friend went camping one night near a river, and how La Llorona almost got his friend and him by calling out to them as they were sleeping. In his story, she lifted him up out of his sleeping bag and held tightly onto him, taking him to the river before he escaped, and when they got home he had a bloody handprint on his shirt. My house was sat next to a culvert that had some water flowing through it, so the thought of a ghostly woman walking outside at night looking to kidnap a child out of bed terrified me for literal years. i dont think it wasnt till i was 13 and living in illinois did i fully relax when it was time to go to bed.
