Heyyo! Hope this ask reaches you well nwn. I have a couple hundred questions about ur art style and storytelling methods if you don’t mind :3

Most important one: How do you draw Mewtwo fingers so well 😭😭😭😭

Also, what program(s) do you use? Canvas size for different projects? What brush settings? And how do you sketch, line and colour? Which step is your favourite? How long do you normally take from piece to piece?

How do you come up with your different AUs? Any particular inspirations? What tips would you give someone just starting out a comic on tumblr?

And uhh any general tips on getting around tumblr? Blogs you really like?

So i tried answering this before and it doesnt post so uhhhhh heres to hoping it works?

1. I base Mewtwo's paws as hands, worked without the rounded digits first then moved to rounded digits so... Take that as you will?

2. I use Clip Studio Art and Procreate! Mostly, anyways XD i also sometimes default back to Paint tool Sai, or Fire Alpaca if i want a different brand lol.

3. I vary in size for different projects. My animations are different than my sketches, my sketches are different from my completed art and my completed art is different for my comics! It also helps my brain not get tired XD

4. I tend to favor my lineart and rendering! Though both of them take equally long times, i render less But i love it more.

5. Depends on the project. I can typically churn out colored pieces in like an hour or so! Sketches are faster.

6. A lot of them are inspirations of something else. Shiny AU was just cause i liked Shiny Pokemon. But Dead AU was based off Danny Phantom and Mimikyu au was a "What if" scenario of the dead au!

7. Oop, Danny Phantom for the Dead AU. Legendary Mew was based off the whole Chosen one BS XD False Twins was slightly based off of TC but was actually based off another AU where Ash and Mewtwo were sorta close friends.

8. Tagging is your best friend~ don't be afraid to interact with other blogs. If someone is being mean, just block em and move on!

9. Getting around Tumblr? I'd say reblog, follow peeps, go to your favorite fandoms/tags! You'll get mutuals in no time!

10. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh a lot of peeps but i dont wanna bother then with tags XD so nontagged peeps!

14. How has your art changed over the years?

I'm house sitting and away from my computer but that means I DO have access to really old pre-digital art 👀

PreK/Kindergarten: Most of my early art was exclusively Pokemon related. Here's a poster advertising a "Pokemon Klub" and a reference sheet I made for myself of Unkown

Elementary School: Still very into Pokemon and Digimon. Here's two self portraits from around 2nd and 3rd grade lol

Middle/High School: I was still going hard on Pokemon and spent a couple years working on my own Fakemon region. Here's some of my concept art for my starters feat. my water starter which was a lifeguard/arctic wolf. Scott Pilgrim and shows like Adventure Time were also big influences at the time

I bought my first tablet when I was 15 and that really transformed my art habits. I switched almost exclusively to digital and began posting on social media. In retrospect, I would section out a couple big arcs for my art since then.

From 15-19 I was really motivated to make art a career and was excited about building a following. Within a year I gained a few thousand followers and was really excited that I was able to sell my art and commissions for money.

By early college I started to lose interest in grinding and was bouncing around several different career paths. At this time I started to try out a lot of new art styles and explore concepts I had always felt too intimidated by before. From 20-22 I didn't create much art that I was proud of or wanted to post. This is the hardest era of my art to look back on but it was also when I experienced a lot of growth. In particular, I started painting and using color in ways that I had never tried before and I started taking a lot less shortcuts when it comes to anatomy and rendering difficult poses. This was also when I began exploring original concepts and characters through RPGs like Dragon Age and D&D.

I associate age 23- the present with my art focussing almost exclusively on original concepts. I'm also very disengaged from social media outside of a small community of friends and artists I enjoy. This allows me to disentangle my motivation to create from external factors which has helped me enjoy sharing my art again. Most of what I draw is done through collaboration with @diirthara-ma and I take a lot enjoyment from other forms of creating like talking about characters, creating charts, moodboards, and playlists, as well as sculpting and miniature making (for D&D). I also enjoy the process of drawing a lot more and spend much more time just doing figure sketches or playing around with another artist's color pallete.

15. Biggest artist pet peeve?

This one's hard! I'd say that I have a bad habit of constantly desaturating my color palette for no reason throughout a piece and then having to resaturate everything again later.

I also got so chill about not posting I now have a hard time remembering to post my art. I also tend to forget I've drawn something if I don't post it so I constantly find old art in my folders I never did anything with lol

-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL

-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. I want to touch his hair. hes never done anything wrong in his life. he could kill all might, deku, bakugo, whatever, I’d still be sayin this. I don’t feel bad for gt. like. was anyone genuinely attached to him? lmao

-well u know how spinner’s quirk is just sticking to things? We haven’t seen him use it in canon except like, (1) time iirc?? I think this is probably bc he’s embarrassed about it even in front of the league... I loooove the idea that he gets more comfortable with it around them :”) and also how shigaraki. um. does that falling asleep thing while standing up with his eyes open, canonly? (which I still love lmfao) Imagine someone in the league walking in a dark room, turning on the light n just seeing. Spinner upside down, stuck to the ceiling asleep bc heat rises and its Warmer Up There. (cold blooded thing like tsuyu?? come ON give him a big fuzzy coat and scarf...) and Shigaraki in the center of the room, slouched but still standing, eyes open and motionless. Theyre both sleeping. Whomever sees it just...slowly walks out. LMAO

-Toga roller derby au. No deep thoughts I just think she’d be good at it. 

-Toga 100% is a social butterfly and could befriend anyone if they didn’t just judge the fact she was trying to stab them smh :/ (ok but seriously anytime I see cute friendships with her n the other kids im like :) aw. I feel like her and Camie...would be good friends. Camie feels chill enough to be like ‘ok whatever thats totally fine I forgive you!!’ LMAO we love airheads here)

-HOW DID TOGA GET SO GOOD AT FIGHTING? We know she’s been on the run since middle school or so, but good enough to pin Deku down after he’s been formally trained at a ~hero school~ for a while? (she pinned him TWICE I think, once when his arms were messed up, but, the other time as Camie, so? AND THEN WAS ONE OF THE 100 PEOPLE TO GO THRU TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THAT? even tho she didn’t bc she had to leave) good enough to beat Aizawa in a fight and stab him? A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/

-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)

-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)

-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too. 

-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun

-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO

-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)

-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho

-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?) 

-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)

-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! Listen. text/chatfics CAN have plot and be an interesting way to tell a story. I almost want to write one just to show what I mean...

I know I’ve said I like spinaraki and blackmagic, but I am a multishipper, so a few ships I don’t talk about that I like that involve the lov in some way:

-toga/any of the 1A girls??? or Camie??? super interesting. ALSO in the radio drama, bakugo’s voice actor said Toga was his favorite girl??? so?? bakugo/toga ?? I WANT TO SEE IT. but specifically my fav dynamic with her is when someone ELSE is the one to like her first, it’s what she deserves.

-Kurogiri/aizawa/mic?? any variety of that is also 👌🏻 I also kinda wanna see kurogiri/all might bc. Dads. COME ON. they bond over ‘well, I raised him, and you want to have a part in his life now?? ok. earn it. prove it. I’ll screen you first’ or something LMAO they’re both genuinely concerned for the boy, and SOOO biased. let them bond.

Shuichi: gets sooooo flustered canonly, I think he’d go for the first person Who Hit On Him (I can see him being the target of those mean pranks where someone says ‘my friend likes you!!’ and the friend is like ‘eww!!’ :(((( ) he’s super hesitant for romance, lots of repressed stuff. gay but takes sooo long to realize it bc he thinks most women are conventionally pretty Aesthethically, feels obligated to Like Them, but has bad self esteem so never goes after them, then only likes (1) guy so hes like?? is this allowed?? is this allowed???? I promise I'm still working on that pokemon project, but it's a pokemon-trainer set of 6 of a 'mon that's very detailed so it's taking a lot of time, and I ended up artblocked.

The first pick was the first thing I did after almost a week of not drawing, what happened is roughly this:

- Was still working on-and-off on the pokemon pic set, and a new TLK one.

- Re-downloaded Steam for some reason I can't remember.

- Found out Spore is in there with all three packs  and on sale (base game+creepy & cute+ galactic adventures)

- caved and bought it cuz it's been years and I wanted the third pack and a convinient way to access it that wasn't a 10+ y/o disc/code I've used a million times on 5 or 6 PCs.

- Played it for 3 days or so, including a day were I completely messed up my PC by tampering with the core folders (went back to normal now THANK GOD) and played switch games for that day.

- Spent another half day after fixing my PC making an EA account to have a proper acc on Spore itself (had to go forum digging, it's a mess). Then played Spore more.

- In all of this watched one HK meme video and stated getting a bajillion of them in my YT recommendeds.

- Played a bunch of switch games for a day trying to stay away from Spore and start drawing (failed).

- Decided to start playing HK again at piss off o'clock in the evening. Still couldn't get past Hornet in Greenpath.

- Next morning finally beat boss 2 and open up a MASSIVE CHUNK OF THE GAME.

- spend the next 2 or so days playing that, including most of today.

So yeah, I fried my brain, in an attempt at grudging trough the art block I tried making an OC, then also tried making self-inserts because Hollow Knight has been my lifesource for the past few week or so, while Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss have been one of my latest obsessions for months, so it only felt fitting to morph my crittersona to fit in those universes.

- First I wanted to draw him as an imp, technically I already drew him as a demon/sinner, so a creature native to hell seemed like the next best AU choice. I didn't think much about what he would do, I just focused on the design part itself, and even then as you can see I had quite a few ideas I tried out on the side. One of the main reasons that made me think he'd fit as an imp is that in an earlier design he had that I never posted the tip of his tail was arrow shaped instead of being just a tuft like now (I should draw that impish form again sometime, he was basically like now but not a noodle). For the clothes I kinda used stuff I own irl as inspo, while thinking "what would fit the HH/HB style?" so I used a sleeveless hoodie, a black shirt (I have a lot of those, I just made one with a generic skull pattern here), and the only pair of jeans I own that I can actually stand to wear... escept by the time I remembered I wanted to draw those I had already drawn cargo pants on him out of habit, so I just colored them like jeans instead... I would probably love pants like these lmao. Oh and chains linked to the belt loops, I actually have those too, they're made form crafstore legit normal chains, not ones made to be actually worn like this. Listen I got them in high school I was an edgy basard and I didn't know where to get stuff like that so I just asked dad to get some like this instead ok. I have a pair of normal steel and a pair of black ones, here he's wearing the latter.

- The other idea was to turn him into a HK bug, more specifically, a mosskin tribe member from greenpath, cuz it's my favorite stage of the game with how pretty it is (listen the artwork of that game is goreous ok). He would probably be a bit of a loner/outcast, always hiding with his leaf/bush cape; the lighter fuzz is part of his body. I imagine he'd be a side character you have to go out of your way to meet and interact with, and depending on how you do so his outcome in the story may vary: one option is that he just stays like normal if you befriend him, the second is he succumbs to the infaction and he ends up being a secret boss an you have to kill him, a third however is maybe he does get infected, but if you do some sort of side quest before defeating him you can cure/save him still(?) Idk. His boss/infected form is partially inspired by aspids (because they're some of the most annoying enemies and I think that fits him/me well enough :') ), he probably attacks from a distance with a combo of spitting at you directly from the ceiling and throwing bubbles of infection around the stage by swinging his tail; maybe even releasing bursts of orange gas like some other enemies when you hit him (in later pahses). And yes, the name is a pun; I noticed the characters in this game either have descriptive names/adjectives, or normal names so I went with a combo of the two.

From Pockets to Monster

This is my "junction" between Pokemon and Undertale, which I have been planning for a long time, and I am finally able to organize it coherently (I hope).

Only the monsters and the Sanses (as well as the Alphys, Floweys, Temmies and other small monsters) are in the place of the Pokémon and the "bigger" monsters (Papyrus, Undynes , Asgores, Torieis, etc.) in humans (Ah! And they are on the surface and not underground).

Thus the Sanses would be captured and used in battles or competitions by the Papyrus that would be their trainers (or Teacher, nurse, etc).

Monsters (with a capital "M" to differentiate from Pockets / Pokémon monsters) have lost their magical ability, and can not use any magic other than that used to keep their bodies (eye lights, for example).

Pockets have all (or almost all) their magic abilities, except that it's more like the Pokémon. Then they can use bubble attacks, flame flares, solar ray, etc. in addition to physical attacks like scratch, tail attack, and so on.

For the most part I followed the pokémon metrics, so the pokesans are captured by pokeballs, there are gyms with leaders, Team Rocket, etc, but I've tried to add as many Undertale elements (and their AUs) to Pokemon concepts. For example pokebolas that have color and function according to the colors and characteristics of the 7 souls.

I focused more on Sanses and Paprys, but I have one thing or another of other characters.

Do not expect exactly a fic, although I have a drabble from the first encounter between Sans and Papyrus (both UT) that I posted in AO3 (in Portuguese that is my language, since it would be kind of strange to use the translator to convert it and publish it ... at least I think).

At the moment I'm writing something more like a class with US! Papyrus as a Professor explaining about the universe and the pokesans, but I have the backstory of characters (mostly Sans or Papyrus) already defined (with more or less richness of details) and until a "script of episodes" (something like my "Draft of ideas") for them.

This all came about thanks @damnedxfate, whose works gave me the seed of the idea for this AU and where the word Pokesans came from (at least it was in her fics I first heard) and the incredible arts of @keksbela-art.

18 Buttercup will suffer from depression during their teenage years but would be pretty good at hiding it and Cardamom would feel sad, scared and powerless at what’s happening to their smaller sibling.

19 Both Buttercup and Cardamom would view Sans as the ‘Fun Parent’, Toriel as the ‘Smart Parent’ and Asgore as the ‘Responsible Parent’. Asgore is considered the ‘responsible one’ because he doesn’t let Butter and Cardie wander by themselves like Sans and Toriel would. (Since that’s what Sans and Toriel do with Frisk in Undertale! XD)

20 Both siblings love video games, specifically the Pokemon games.

21 If Buttercup had a undertale theme song it would be called ‘Star Eyes’ and Cardamom’s would be called ‘Trouble Maker’.

22 Buttercup though shorter, is the older sibling by a few minutes but everyone thinks that Cardamom is older due to Cardie’s height and protectiveness of Buttercup and both of the sibling were born in the summer!

2.(Underfell)

*UF Buttercup- Personality: Selfless, patient, intelligent, and tricky… *Cardamom- Personality: Good-Hearted, mischievous, brave and loyal…

*UF Buttercup would have one red eyelights and the other being gold.

*UF Cardamom would have red and gold eyelights, just like Toriel.

*Buttercup and Cardamom are rougher and edgier then their original counterpart but they are still the same compassionate kids and are undyingly devoted to each other.

*In Flowerfell, FF Sans would give Buttercup his star necklace and would give Cardamom his scarf!

3.(Underswap)

*Buttercup would have Cardamom’s playful and outgoing personality and Cardamom would have Buttercup’s shy yet sweet personality, but they would mantain some of their original counterparts traits and interests. (What they are is up to you!)

4.(Swapfell and Fellswap)

*They’re basically an edgy version of their Underswap selves!

5.(Reapertale)

*Buttercup- God of Stars and the Constellations…Powers: Telekinesis, Teleporting, Flight (with wings), star manipulation and can create light that looks like silver fire… *Cardamom- God of Rebirth and Reincarnation…Powers: Telekinesis, Flight (with wings), healing magic, can either create zombies or can reincarnate old souls into the next life…

(Asgore carries his trident (like in Undertale), Sans carries scythes and so Buttercup and Cardamom carry scepters.)

(Buttercup has black wings that have golden tips on the tips of the feathers, while Cardamom has silver wings.)

(Buttercup and Cardamom live with Asgore and Toriel on MT. Ebott (Home of the Monster Gods) but Sans and Papyrus visit as much as they can.)

(On a couple of random notes that are unrelated to the skele-goats, I headcanon that Reapertale Asgore’s powers are all of the elements of the sky including fire, sunlight, lightning, wind, rain, hail and snow…and Asgore has giant golden wings.)

(Actually, all of the gods have wings, Toriel has white wings, Sans + Papyrus have black wings, Undyne has yellow wings, Alphys has blue wings, Gerson has green wings, Muffet has purple wings, Grillby has orange wings, Asriel has rainbow wings and Gaster has dark grey wings with sparkles of purple, blue and orange in them… and if Frisk and Chara became gods they would both have red wings!)

6.(Outertale)

*Cardamom would have star eyes, just like Buttercup.

7.(Storyshift and Altertale)

*The siblings would rule monsterkind together should anything happen to Sans and Papyrus, since Asriel isn’t royalty in these Aus.

8.(UT Mob/Mobtale/Mafiatale)

*They would be born around the time Little Pup/Frisk is a teenager or young adult and after Frisk’s dies of old age, they would take charge of their parents’ gang.

9.(Horrortale)

(Let’s pretend Sans was pregnant with Buttercup and Toriel was pregnant with Cardamom around the time of Asgore’s death, shall we?)

*HT Buttercup- Personality: Calculating, patient , and insane… *Cardamom- Personality: Manipulative, loyal (to their family) and insane…

*Buttercup and Cardamom live with Toriel, so they could be safe from the rest of the Underground. Sans, Toriel and even Papyrus are violently protective of them.

*Sans and Papyrus would often visit the ruins to see the kids.

*They would join Aliza on her journey, cause their curious about what the rest of the Underground looks like.

*Cardamom and Buttercup won’t try to eat or hurt Aliza unless she tries to hurt or be mean to either of them…

10.(Dancetale)

*Buttercup’s dance style would be Tap Dance and Cardamom’s would know multiple styles, since Cardie is great at dancing in the original universe.

11. (Undersail)

*Skele-Goat Mermaids for the win.

12. (Birdtale)

Buttercup would have Blue and Orange wings and Cardamom would have Red ones.

13. (Overtale)

*Buttercup as a human would have a Soul of Kindness.

*Cardamom would have a Soul of Integrity.

*In this AU, they would be adopted.

*Buttercup would be half-british. (Since Buttercups can come from Europe, including Great Britian.)

*While Cardamom would be indian. (Since the cardamom spice, comes from India.)

*Buttercup would have Dragon, Fire and Psychic Types.

*While Cardamom would have Fairy, Plant and Psychic Types.

*Buttercup’s starter would be a charmander, while Cardamom’s starter would be a chikorita.

*They would join the royal guard, like Sans and Papyrus.

16. (Errortale)

If a version of Error that belonged to a ‘Buttercup and Cardamom Sansgoriel AU’ existed, he would never stop searching for them and if he finds them, he would either be filled with happiness and relief or suffer from a reboot…

17. (Inktale)

Ink would be a troll and jerk to Buttercup and Cardamom, even if they are his kids. (I mean look at Paperjam!)

18. (Underfresh)

A couple of fresh parasites that Fresh gave birth to and are now possessing a version of the siblings? XD

19. (Underlust)

*All monsters are cured from the lust injections in this AU, so Buttercup and Cardamom are pretty much the same here…

*Buttercup and Cardamom would both be reborn into angels.

21. (Underkeep)

*They both would be a couple of fancy and regal fashionistas and would be called ‘The Little Darlings of Monsterkind’. (In this AU, Buttercup loves fashion almost as much as Cardamom.)

Since only Buttercup can summon gaster blasters, only he can turn into one like Sans and Papyrus…

what’s your favorite thing to do when you want to chill out and just enjoy yourself? …..a…art…. despite this also being a source of stress… IT’S COMPLICATED OK .....possibly a better answer would be to look at other people’s art, or listen to music. i really don’t know much about music but im extremely grateful to musicians/singers and all the feeling they put into their art. hearing the energy in their words and voices really brings it to life.
