Current working theory on The Afterparty is that the cake Edward gave Isabel contained adderall - not enough for a deadly reaction but enough to cause confusion and hyperactivity.
Then when grace gave him adderall later, that was enough to push into a deadly overdose. One of the symptoms of a severe overdose??? Hallucinations.
Technically grace and Isabel did kill him, though it was accidental

I feel like people aren't getting it. In. The. Books. Perseus. Jackson. Is. An. Unreliable. Narrator. This goes for everything he thinks. Percy loves his mother, so he writes her praises. In the show we get to see what Sally does from an outside POV not filtered through a child that idolizes his mother. It's not ooc for Sally to act like she does in the show. she's a single mother raising a neurodivergent, Demigod, and she's scared that when the Gods get to him they'll corrupt him. She's not suddenly a girl boss we're getting to see her for how she is.

soulless sam was at his best when he was still being written as a version of sam, to accentuate parts of him that normally get held back, and not as 'guess he's evil now'. soulless sam when he's reflecting sam's tendency to lose sight of everything else in pursuit of a goal. soulless sam when he's just kind of rude without thinking about it without his filter on. soulless sam when he's equal parts intent on keeping dean with him and also happy to lie to him and keep him shut out of the things he knows dean won't like so that dean won't leave. soulless sam when he equally recognizes that he is a better hunter now, and also that he probably can't continue to exist without his soul. (you know. before they went along with making him just kind of evil.)
...soulless sam when he's begging for literally anyone to acknowledge his autonomy in this situation and not force him to take his soul back without knowing how much it could damage him and being ignored.

CAN I INTEREST ANYONE IN A TAOB AZULA POV
The silence of solitude always seemed so much heavier than the sort of silence that settled in larger spaces. The silence of sitting at Father’s side, for instance, had a different weight to it. There was tension there, a dozen invisible threads holding everyone in place like one of Zuzu’s ridiculous plays. This silence here though, between Azula and her reflection, was heavy, as if waiting for something.
Azula didn’t care, never gave it enough time to reveal itself to her. She saw her reflection without seeing, ignoring the soft edges, the familiar eyes.
She fixed her hair, and just like that, Azula was perfect. It wasn’t a difficult standard to maintain and had only gotten more natural with time. Time and practise and her brother’s instance of making it easy for her. Her weak, foolish brother.
Trust is for fools, Father had always said, and Zuko was the biggest fool of all of them. Fools make fools and Azula would not be made a fool of. His pretty promises were fickle, childish things. Apologies on a beach, blue fire in hands dancing dangerously close to touching, a softness, an openness that Azula knew Zuko couldn’t have faked for the life of him.
He said they could be better. He said he was sorry for leaving her. He said they didn’t have to be terrible.
He said a lot of things, and then, Zuko had done what Zuko did best.
Zuko left.

Last line tag
@the-stray-storyteller tagged me and in a day when I respond to my other tag, I will tag her back. get wrecked
I accidentally made myself a bit sad with my own writing so now I'm pushing my "dylan probably met elliot pre canon" agenda (which is apparently becoming the dylan gets adopted au)
anyways implied child abandonment because it is dylan

She came to find out that even after a year, Dylan was still under the impression that their parents had to come for them at some point, and she had to be the one to tell them that it wasn't going to happen, and Elliot had to be the one to bribe them out of their locked room with a cookie and a box of apple juice.

Considering their IRL counterparts, we think there's a very good chance that since Heart was Rad God's previous host, while she got transmitted to Mad Rat via bits of her in the heart tissue. There's not a whole lot else going on in that operation besides the heart transplant, after all, and we doubt that the doctor had any extra contamination around to potentially transmit her. We know that she says she lives in rats, specifically, but there's One Specific Protozoan she's based off of, and cats are the definitive host o f Toxoplasmosis Gondii.
Given the givens, it's entirely possible she simply doesn't present the same symptoms cross-species, and a symbiotic host that offers more benefits to her just... won't experience the same trip, especially since trying to feed your cat host to a cat doesn't really offer any benefit to either of you. With Heart, he's probably either asymptomatic or just only experiencing symptoms that don't particularly affect his day-to-day life, possibly in a way where he wouldn't have even known he was playing host to a parasite if it wasn't for the situation with Mad Rat.
Would it be weird for him to be... aware of that, postgame? To know that he's carrying a parasite with the potential to majorly fuck up any rats that might contract it? Is there a proper way to react to the knowledge that you're carrying a hallucinogenic parasite in you that'll cause major issues for any rat you might infect? Would he even, like... figure out the whole "asymptomic/mostly asymptomic carrier" thing before later? These are the questions we really need to ask.
