Bingqiu roleswap where disciple Shen Yuan knows he's gay, and figures out that he has a big huge crush on his handsome Shizun, but also concludes nearly at once that he's not going to be drawing Luo Binghe's eye any time soon. Firstly, Luo Binghe is notoriously straight. Secondly, even if he weren't, he wouldn't go for his scrawny untalented nerd of a disciple! Shen Yuan's not bad looking, not before or after transmigrating, but he's neither a beautiful nor a hot manly man, and he assumes if Luo Binghe were into dudes he'd be into the same kinds of twunks that Shen Yuan likes. Guys on his own level, etc etc.
Plus Luo Binghe hated the original disciple Shen, and only started to warm up to the transmigrated version after Shen Yuan got injured in front of him trying to stop the other disciples on the peak from killing a small animal. For some reason, Luo Binghe brought Shen Yuan medicine. He got even nicer after Shen Yuan distracted the skinner demon by trying to convince it to take his skin instead of Luo Binghe's, and then again when Shen Yuan successfully fought off a demon invader -- though initially when Luo Binghe volunteered him for that job, he thought it was an assassination attempt. His heart was in his throat when Luo Binghe nearly took a poisoned blow for him, but luckily he reacted more quickly and got hit by the thorns instead. His heavenly demon blood took care of the poison, and he managed to convince everyone that he narrowly avoided getting cut at all.
Shen Yuan's careful not to read anything into it when Luo Binghe finds out about his, erm, uncomfortable dormitory situation and moves him into the side room, or when he completely messes up trying to make dinner and Luo Binghe takes over cooking and bans him from the kitchen (he swears he's not actually that bad at cooking, he just never had to use a kitchen without a microwave or an electric hot plate before...)
After all, it's not like Luo Binghe is cooking for him, he's just making food he likes and letting Shen Yuan eat it too! Because he's nice! He's way nicer than the book gave him credit for being, see, clearly Shen Yuan was correct in signing up for his defense squad, "top ten worst villains of all time" his ass that poll was nonsense...
Unfortunately, though, the plot's still gotta plot. Shen Yuan is heartbroken when the Immortal Alliance Conference rolls around and his shizun stabs him and throws him down into the Endless Abyss. Heartbroken, but not surprised. After all, it was always going to go this way, wasn't it?
But at least, now that it's done, he has some agency in how he reacts to it. He's changed the story enough that he doesn't need to go get revenge. Maybe Luo Binghe's still the villain of his story, maybe that was inevitable, but some heroes let the villains get away. Don't they? It's all part of that noble, breaking the cycle of abuse type stuff. He can be that kind of hero. He can let it go. As long as he avoids Luo Binghe altogether, it should be fine, right? It's not like he's obligated to turn people into human sticks. He asked the system, he's definitely not!
Technically he's not even required to conquer the demon realms. He just has to get out of the Abyss and the be sufficiently cool and/or tragic. Conquest is just one means of doing that, and not even Shen Yuan's preferred, since he doesn't exactly want to rule over anybody. Going around the demon realms beating up some jackasses and rescuing some damsels in distress and becoming sworn brothers with Shang Qinghua, one of the current demon kings, is suitable. He definitely doesn't want to marry any of the damsels he encounters (thank fuck the system lets him off the hook for that!)
But eventually he has to go back to the human world. Not only is it mandated by the system, but he also misses living there. The demonic realms are in many ways better than expected, plus a lot of the monsters are really cool, but he misses the weather and plants and the people he's more accustomed to being around.
He misses Qing Jing Peak, if he's being honest with himself. Shizun's cooking and the bamboo forest and the crisp mountain breezes, the comforts of home.
Not that he can actually go back there in specific. Of course not. If he did that, Luo Binghe would try to kill him, or else the system would try and make him kill Luo Binghe. Bad ideas all around. No, he can't go back to Qing Jing Peak, but he can go find someplace nicer than the demon realms at least. He just has to keep a low profile, which shouldn't be hard since the original goods did that even while actively scheming to kill his former master!
Except.
Everywhere he goes, suddenly Luo Binghe is also there?!
Good thing Shen Yuan thought to take a page out of the book of Luo Binghe's actual love interest, Liu Mingyan, and start wearing a veil. He just didn't want any randos who might have seen him at the Immortal Alliance Conference or on any of the other missions his shizun sent him on to recognize him. But one minute he's investigating a strange case in Jinlan City, and the next the streets are full of Huan Hua cultivators (Shen Yuan has no intention of joining them, that's the path the original took to getting revenge! He doesn't want revenge!), and then Luo Binghe and Sect Leader MBJ and Peak Lord SHL show up, and SY is ducking down alleys and hiding behind columns, just trying to stay out of the way until the lockdown on Jinlan lifts and he can leave.
Except...
Luo Binghe really isn't acting like himself?
He looks like he hasn't been eating or sleeping well. There are dark circles around his eyes, and something almost melancholy in his countenance. And he's dressed entirely in white, none of the usual Qing Jing greens and blues anywhere to be seen. Of even greater concern, he's being reckless. Shen Yuan can't stop himself from rushing out when he sees his former shizun get infected by a sower demon.
Luckily, it's been some years since the last time they saw one another. Shen Yuan's gained a few inches in height, so he's almost at eye-level with his old master now, and though he's still more slender than bulky he's picked up some totally new styles from training the demon realms. He doesn't move the same way he used to. With that, plus the veil, it's enough for him to quickly swallow back his words as he grabs Luo Binghe and quickly administers a cure for the sower infection.
Well, he has one of course. He wouldn't need it himself, heavenly demon blood and all, but his time running around playing hero in the demon realms meant he rescued a lot of humans from such fates. Which is hard to do if you don't have a cure to their afflictions, but between him and Shang Qinghua, sourcing such things was almost easy.
Luo Binghe looks at him like he's just seen a ghost. The other Cang Qiong sect members are alarmed by SY suddenly accosting one of their own and of course find him suspicious, so he runs away right after, and then he has to lose Sha Hualing's pursuit in the city.
But what else could he do? He manages to evade the system's attempts to railroad him into meeting Gongyi Xiao, avoids the rest of the Cang Qiong crowd, and drops some of the cure through the current Qian Cao peak lord's window to get the incident sorted out. Then he flees and puts a good amount of distance between himself, Jinlan City, and every righteous sect he can think of.
The only problem is that after this point, Luo Binghe is everywhere.
Any time Shen Yuan stays in one place for longer than a few days, Qing Jing disciples start turning up. Any time he takes a job hunting some cool-sounding monster or pursuing some interesting tome of knowledge, the better to satisfy the system, it seems like Luo Binghe has selected and gone after the exact same target! Which is especially annoying because back when SY was a disciple, Luo Binghe was always assigning him to do this stuff. Since when does his chronic homebody master have an interesting in six-tailed scorpion lemurs or ancient spiritual kilns?
What's weirder, though, are the rumors.
It seems like any time SY stops at some well-populated place and asks for the latest gossip, he has to hear about how the Qing Jing peak lord lost his beloved disciple during the Immortal Alliance Conference, and mourned like a widow, and now wanders the earth in search of solace for his grief. Seeking something, possibly even the ghost of his dear disciple.
What nonsense! Luo Binghe threw SY into the Abyss himself. He had to do it, it was the plot! And also his obligation as a righteous cultivator, confronted with a "dangerous" half-demon. Does it sting? Yes it stings! That's why SY wouldn't just forget it! Despite logically knowing it's pointless, is there some part of him that wishes his master would have chosen differently? That thinks he should have known that no matter what kind of power Shen Yuan had, he would never use it to hurt people recklessly, or harm innocents, or especially not harm... well. It's pointless, his blood condemned him, and if there is some part of Luo Binghe which regrets what happened, it's doubtless just that he unwittingly harbored a monster for so long.
Which is fine and Shen Yuan would leave it at that, if the guy would just let him!
But no. Instead he has to deal with Luo Binghe turning up and asking him questions, trying to get him to talk (SY has no hope of disguising his voice, if he says anything he's not even sure it won't crack as he comes perilously close to tears instead, so he just stays silent), and then asking for his name, asking if he's mute, asking about his background, his sect, his kin. Is his a righteous cultivator? Where did he get that sword? (NOT Xin Mo, thanks, he used that thing once and then tossed it back into the Abyss before the portal finished closing behind him -- he knows a poisoned chalice when he sees one, although knowing the plot twist about that sword from the novel sure helped.) Where did he learn those forms? Is he... does he have a safe place to go home to? Someone to tend his injuries? Make sure he eats his meals?
SY, of course, stays silent. But it's difficult. Not only because Luo Binghe asks, but because he still looks... bad. Sunken, sorrowful, desperate almost. Shen Yuan can't figure out if he knows or not. Maybe he's unsure, maybe he's looking for SY to give him a sign, so that he can figure him out and then flip a switch and try to finish the job he started.
That can't happen. If they fight, SY will win, and he doesn't want to hurt Luo Binghe.
But even if Luo Binghe's not a heavenly demon, he is a highly accomplished cultivator, and it seems he's got his own breaking points to reach. Eventually he corners SY and gets a hand on his veil, and for a moment SY is sure he's going to rip it off, see his face, and confront him all "I knew it was you, you twisted evil demon, you won't escape justice a second time" and he feels a deep, icy terror close around his lungs--
Luo Binghe lets go of the veil before he can lift it.
But then something even worse happens. Because Shen Yuan's handsome, peerless, noble master breaks down. He falls to his knees, begging forgiveness, sobbing, clutching at his head like he's being driven to madness.
It all spills out of him, then. How he pushed his own dearest disciple into the Abyss, which obviously SY already knew, but also how he was apparently qi-deviating the whole time, and his senses could not differentiate between one kind of demonic "threat" and another. How he realized what he'd done only after he regained his senses hours later, and rushed back to the place where the tear to the Abyss had opened, but could not find a way in after the one he lost. How he had betrayed and thrown away the only person who cared about him, and couldn't even explain that he hadn't intended to. How he would accept anything, any punishment, hatred, penance, or revenge, if only he could see his disciple's face once more.
SY is stunned.
Apparently, Luo Binghe hadn't rejected him for his demon blood?
Not only that, but beforehand, he seemed to have valued Shen Yuan a lot more than Shen Yuan would have credited.
Is it a trick? Is he lying? SY would have guessed so, would have assumed that Luo Binghe's plan was to lull him into complacency only to turn on him once he finally had confirmation. But somehow, he just... doesn't think this is an insincere display. His old master is too cool for this stuff! He has too much dignity to just throw it away on a scheme! There are other ways to get what he wants.
Even if it is a lie, Shen Yuan is tired of running. He's the hero. He won't actually lose, and if it comes to it, it's still in his hands to decide if he wants to spare Luo Binghe or not (he does, of course he does, even if this whole spiel is an act). Plus he's got a backup plant body in one of Shang Qinghua's greenhouses if all goes to shit.
He takes the veil off himself.
Luo Binghe, teary-eyed, stares at him as if his face is the most beautiful he's ever seen.
Shen Yuan nearly puts the veil back on. His cheeks heat up. Dear Shizun, aren't you an immortal master? A noble peak lord? Isn't it your calling to vanquish demons? Get up off the dirty ground right this minute! Where did your dignity go? Shen Yuan did not spend all those nights doing the laundry to watch his teacher dirty his knees for no good reason!
There's a quaver in Luo Binghe's voice as he points out that Shen Yuan was terrible at doing laundry. Luo Binghe had to redo it the day after, all the time.
Shen Yuan chides at him that he should have made one of the other disciples do it then.
Luo Binghe just laughs, and stays on the ground, until finally Shen Yuan has to physically pull him up. Muttering about how he's being ridiculous, what's he crying for, why's he been moping so much, doesn't he know that handsome face should never look so bereft? Then he realizes what he's saying and shuts his mouth, but Luo Binghe just looks happy for the first time in years. Since the Abyss. How is it possible that SY, who actually had to slog through that awful place, can still smile more than Luo Binghe, who didn't?
They're standing so close. Holding on to one another. Almost as if... as if the scene's tone is... well...
Oh what the hell!
Shen Yuan closes the last little bit of distance between them, and kisses Luo Binghe.
#svsss#scum villain's self saving system#bingqiu#long post#of course the plot probably interferes further then#turns out that while luo binghe was desperately trying to get sy back he accidentally woke up sy's father#who for this au let's say is sj instead of tlj#sj does NOT approve of this match and also hates all the righteous cultivators (and demons... and everyone mostly...)#but he is also busy trying to resurrect yqy or something#kidnaps sy like well I missed the chance to raise you and actually that's probably for the best but now I need your blood#for Reasons#luo binghe is not a fan of this turn of events#reverse holy mausoleum arc when SY is mostly unconscious except to sometimes throw out advice and LBH is dodging traps and villains#the pining-over-the-dead-shizun arc is probably AFTER the holy mausoleum and lbh self-destructs to rescue sy from sj's plans#sy refuses to accept this outcome he decided luo binghe was NOT to die he didn't need a redemption arc he was FINE sy DECIDED#but luckily they're in the holy mausoleum so sy grabs a resurrection artifact of some kind#has to spend a few years restoring and maintaining lbh's corpse before he can get the to actually work but it's fine#he's fine everything's fine he's GOING to get lbh back lbh is NOT ALLOWED TO DIE#luckily unhinged sy results in way less collateral damage than unhinged lbh#so mostly he just fights off mbj's attempts to honorably recover his shidi's body and offer him a proper burial#while camping out in the holy mausoleum and arguing with sj's detached body parts#y'know normal healthy behavior

So this is a sequel to this post mainly because there was some crucial details in the finale that I missed, but this is specifically going to be focusing on Parrot rather than Evbo, although Evbo is still going to be part of this whole theory. Lets start.
[Transcript Start] Evbo: -My iron sword, so their swords will never break. Thats why I have to get out of here, so that I can prove to people that there is a way out! Obviously, to do that, I need to make it to level 4. But its a bit tough to do that, since theres no way to rank up apparently. Parrot: ...Wait, what do you mean theres no way to rank up? Evbo: Oh yeah! I probably should've mentioned that every time I try to rank up to a golden sword- Woah, getting up close and personal. But..yeah, theres no water at the bottom, I've died-
[End of transcript.]
This exchange to me, at first, read as rather inconspicuous. Other players have killed Evbo before, or straight up hit him. So it didn't particularly click with me that this was something to pay attention to, but it was a bit weird considering how Parrot is first characterized. His whole introduction with Evbo and Tabi, and him talking about the iron sword layer being peaceful, and trying to protect Evbo's immortal identity, being depressed and isolating himself in a mansion.. It seems odd that this would suddenly shift when the situation becomes "Theres no way out" and him almost getting violent here, like every other character in the series. But he shows restraint in his anger rather than lashing out. Good right? Well... Next time we "meet" Parrot the implications are less than ideal. We learn he is a bow, and that he attempted to tell Evbo this, but the message about Tabi's betrayal got through to him too late. Then something else happens. Evbo, post betrayal and probably wanting to let off some of the stress that has most definitely been bubbling under the surface, Kills the entire iron sword layer. Or atleast very heavily implied that he did, along with Parrot's help. In Evbo's words, he "Killed all the people that were against me." which could either mean like, two people or the entire layer, and I don't think Evbo was particularly keeping track of the "bad" iron swords that came into his cell depending on how populated that layer actually is. The way someone would typically twist this, is that Parrot is willing to do terrible things for his friend's safety and comfort. Which is fine, but hear me out. Considering that Parrot got very close to snapping at Evbo back in episode 4, and was pretty absent throughout the arc where Evbo trains until he gets to the diamond sword layer, and then out of nowhere, helps with a murder spree despite him being one of the more peaceful residents? One that doesn't appear to get into fights, nor is seen going into Evbo's cell for kills? Evbo lets something slip near the end right after describing the massacre that he and Parrot did together. Parrot says:
"I will do my best to make a difference in this world."
Now, this sounds good in theory. Great, even! But consider the stuff we learned from him up until this point, the tiny details that you could easily miss or disregard entirely. Now, what does that phrase imply? Especially with the surrounding context being Evbo and Parrot killing a layer together?
What difference does he intend to make in this world? We don't get more than what Evbo tells us in the narration, but he does mention that he isn't willing to see Parrot just yet, and needs to piece his feelings towards him. What went down between these two that went unseen that left Evbo not wanting to talk to him let alone see him? Fishy, fishy, fishy.
#pvp civilization#pvp civ spoilers#pvpciv#trying to make up for the lack of good quality posts sorry chat#but also what the fuck#i thought at first the whole evbo killing the iron sword layer in a fit of resentment was a fanon thing#but no thats straight up just implied and i somehow missed that entirely#and more importantly PARROT?#parrot helped?!#and he says THAT right after evbo is done brushing over the fact that they did a planned massacre?#this is fucking sketchy dude!!!#this is villain talk!!!#these mfs are NOT morally good people they are plotting some shit#more specifically i think parrot is the one plotting something actually bad#evbo is a dog that parrot brought along to help out with kills#and well. lets just say i have some theories on who parrot actually is#but im keeping them to myself because maybe?? they'll turn this right around and i'll look completely fucking stupid sob#i guess i can share a sillier? one because it could make for a good au i guess#parrot cult leader arc#like he organized a whole group and its like. religious worship of whoever they think the chosen one actually is#and well. lets just say. parrot might be up there#idk just a fun idea maybe ill write something about it#sympathytea overthinks#<- im not sure why the post doesnt show up under this tag but im not fixing it

I want to make a longer post about this someday but: I think Arya's TWOW arc is going to include her coming to terms with her identity as a Lady. This has been an ongoing conflict with her since her first chapter and I think her flowering in winds is going to mark a turning point. The theory of her having an apprenticeship with the courtesans holds a lot of weight and the idea of Arya going through puberty among a group of unconventional women she's fostered a positive relationship with is just too perfect. It would really have an impact on Arya reconciling her personal idea of what a Lady should be. There's also a lot that she could learn from them in terms of courtesies, communication, appearances, body-language, etc. that would elevate her current skill-set and ways her relationship with them could push the plot.
Not to mention she will undoubtedly reclaim her identity as Arya Stark, and her being a Lady is inseparable from that. Arya Stark is a Lady Stark and being a Lady is a social position, not a measure of how well someone preforms feminine tasks. She shouldn't have to relinquish her position because she doesn't fit patriarchal standards. That's not to say that she's ever going to be the perfect example of a traditional Lady but what I think will happen is that she becomes capable of playing the part. She plays several identities throughout the series but she's always been Arya underneath, so I think it's appropriate that she learns to adopt a "persona" that's part of her. Her remembering Ned putting on his "Lord's face" (+ the various examples of other characters being separate from their ruling persona) makes me think that Arya will be donning her "Lady's face" when she makes a return to Westeros.
#arya stark#asoiaf#twow speculations#Arya has been through so much traumatic shit and I think her flowering is going to bring up a lot of her self-esteem issues#I just really need her surrounded by kind older women when that happens so she can have some comfort#George saying her arc in braavos could be the plot of a YA novel?? definitely makes me think she's going to grow up a lot there#she's already one of the most mature characters so I think part of it's going to be her accepting her duty as a Stark Lady#she wants to help and protect people and the best way she can do that is if she has political power#She could learn that first hand in TWOW#possibly through her finding out about her marriage??? and meeting Jeyne in Braavos??#and before someone says it courtesans are so much more then sex work so I don't want to hear it#they are such a big part of Braavosi high life...they're cultured and connected with very important people#I just have so many thoughts on the subject cause I think her apprenticeship with them will serve multiple purposes#the faceless men and their plans...the iron bank...the sealord...It's all connected and I think her apprenticeship with them will kick off#the braavos plot and could mark the beginning of the end of her time with the faceless men and in braavosi#half a boy half a wolf pup -> half a lady half a wolf#I think her current skillset fits well and it's likely she'll learn even more in TWOW#Arya defining her own role as a Lady and becoming comfortable means so much to me

every time I listen to rewrite the stars I feel the urge to write a satosugu fix it ... I mean I have one. in my head. but I haven't written it because I'm like...how willing am I to write a fic that ignores canon to THAT level i.e. the part where kenjaku had his eye on suguru literally the moment he entered the jujutsu world, the fact that he didn't even need suguru's body to curse tsumiki and the others who fell into a coma, etc. hahaa
answer is really tempted but unsure
#kenjaku's plans were so meticulously well plotted#i wonder if that means we would be looking at an au where some version of the culling games would happen#except with suguru fighting with them this time#does that mean sukuna would be able to defeat gojo in the end.#idk man so many many thoughts#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#jujutsu kaisen fic#satosugu#gojo satoru#geto suguru#kenjaku#culling games#shibuya incident#hidden inventory arc#fix it fic#or not idk#fushiguro tsumiki#satosugu fic#mari rambles

sincerely hope endo-sensei keeps up the slow plot and doesn't rush it
#spy x family#i dont really... understand when people complain about that? obviously it's going to be a very long manga and plot doesnt grow on trees#also i doubt this thing is supposed to 'take turns' with whoever is the focus of arcs lmao its not that neat and orderly#whether you like it or not end-sensei decides who's going to get the major role in the next arc and if it's not yor then#that's that. she is not becoming the side character/ignored lol#operation strix is the main focus of the story and had more to do with twilight and anya#UNTIL melinda desmond showed up. plans a b c now put together include the entire family#however plan c will require more of melinda's presence which idt will happen anytime soon? so we wait#i do get that waiting every 2 weeks for a chapter and the occasional break feels like everything's going slooooowly#but i would also prefer endo-sensei to take time to write the manga so that it progresses well and isnt rushed ^^

someone's been liking a lot of my old posts relating to my attempts to rewrite fairy tail.... which, and this may astound you, is not actually a cancelled project in spite of the fact that it's been nearly a decade since i first started trying to figure it out
#fairy tail#fairy tail rewrite#ek3 rewrites ft#i knew it would take a while but. it is taking wayyyyyy longer than i thought#likely in part bc of the hell that is rotating special interests/hyperfixations#tbh i'm actually kinda ok with how long it's taken bc i've had some pretty good ideas since that i wouldn't have when i first started#unfortunately that also means some earlier ideas have been scrapped#oddly i'm actually having more trouble with some of the earlier arcs#the macao and daybreak arcs are still overall the same plot-wise but i'm planning to use them for world-building and character introduction#i've also gotten a bit more comfortable leaning into some of ft's more soap opera-y nonsense#like the constant surprise family stuff#just. hopefully less stupid#also. and i'm sure i've said this before. every character who dies was planned out well in advance#like even now when i'm still in the early stages (*sound of sobbing heard in the distance*) i know who's not making it and who is#probably the hardest part will be dealing with the last few arcs tho bc by that point it'll look pretty freaking different from canon#actually the hardest part will probably be handling the balance between fanfic-as-fanfic and fanfic-being-written-like-an-original-work#also i'm still firmly refusing to acknowledge the existence of ft100yq#i can't see it. i don't know her

The best 68 seconds in anime history (and a 22 minutes 32 seconds of prelude to that, I guess)
#A good episode. Some interesting politics talks.#But also episode that reminds me how boring b/sd is - to me - when it's not about ss/kk…#It's just that a season finale that isn't centered on ss/kk feels unfair ahah#I like fuku/fuku's relationship and their arc is interesting but man Fukuchi's plan is really so stupid… Like so so stupid…#And I suppose it's the kind of nonsense that's fairly in brand for b/sd. But still‚ man…#Idk. I don't have much to say that I haven't already plenty commented here and there.#Very solid episode. Spectacular animation and art direction by b/sd's standards. Just try not to miss ss/kk too much while watching it lmao#Oh the Teruko scene makes me soooooo mad.#I'm so pissed at that scene it's my least favourite scene in the whole manga. Makes me want to break the screen.#The moment when Fukuchi holds Fukuchi is???? So intimate????? Really has one be like 🏳️🌈⁉️⁉️#I know that's definitely not the point but every time watching I can't help but go#“world war or not‚ activating such a large scale military mobilization is probably going to cause the end of the world–#due to all its consequent pollution either way”.#I mean even ignoring the tanks and fighter aircrafts and aircraft carriers the THOUSANDS of missiles dropped in the sea. Lol#Well... At least we got ss/kk homoerotic bloodsucking. A special tool that will come useful later I'm sure I'm sure#I don't have words left about the final ss/kk scene but seriously. It's incredible under every aspect.#I can't believe Akutagawa stepped in in a new outfit to rescue Atsushi and exchange homoerotic lines.#You had to be there you had to be there. Lifechanging night national holiday worthy event#random rambles#This one + the last episode: episodes that make me go “wow whoever wrote this plot has no idea how UN works”#Like seriously (╥﹏╥) Seriously. I mean it's all good it's just an anime but that's so not how the UN works lol

dude why did ppl hate The End of Hope’s Peak High School sm
#toasty talks#dr on the brain obviously#most of the complaints I see are that it contradicts the plot of the first games#but I honestly couldn’t fully grasp DR1 or 2 prior to having seen the anime.#personally I thought it tied things together well. I’m sure the contradictions are there and I just didn’t notice but#it clearly never broke my immersion or anything#plus!! you get to see the DR1 and 2 character being (mostly) alive and well in the end!! A++#I’m planning on rewatching so I’m just thinkin abt it cuz like. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I don’t get the hate#if it’s just that it’s ‘bad’ then. I mean you are definitely allowed to feel that way but let’s not pretend that the games are Good.#dont get me wrong I LOVE them but they are Badgood. very entertaining. full of flaws. 10/10 would not recommend you have(n’t) to see it. yk#also I suspect some of the dislike comes from watching it in the wrong order (which is the fault of some streaming sites).#unless you look it up you might not know to watch the Future and Despair arcs in alternation which is def the best way to watch it#anyway. basically I am excited to rewatch it LOLZ. I liked the plot lines :] AND I thought the new characters they add were pretty cool#danganronpa 3#the end of hope’s peak high school

on one hand I wanna write my fic ideas wherein my marvel oc gets sent to the alternate universe of Gotham and hijinks ensue whilst she tries to survive and get back and the batfam and such slowly learn more info abt her world and how it's being threatened atm and she needs to go back and help and whatnot.
But on the other hand, the readers wouldn't know the marvel related backstory of this OC and would have. No context for her going in
But ALSO then the readers would know abt as much abt this mysterious figure as the batcrew do, and get to learn via flash backs and her slowly revealing info to them as safety allows
Then there's also just a general. Idk if there's any sort of oc etiquette when it comes to writing oc centered fics? My brain goes so hogwild when I read anything that I usually avoid oc fics other people write just bc I usually read and enjoy fics at face value but I also go "now what would happen if this OC was here?" And that gets real complicated when other people's ocs are involved
#jasper rambles#this is a rambly one yall#fanfic discussion#fanfic etiquette?#i just. listen. i made a vampire oc for captain america specifically of the mcu.. and i was thinking and like. gotham is the Perfect City fo#r a vampire to live right. so like. then i was like what would she do if she ended up in gotham. how would that go. and then i could reveal#her marvel backstory thru tidbits she drops and flashbacks. bc i have her mcu timeline pretty well planned out#tho also her existence (along w a few pther ocs) drastically changes the course of the mcu so some things hapen VERY differently (mainly civ#il war and then the start of the following arcs) so like id aalso have to reveal where the canon divergence from the mcu is during the flash#backs. and then ALSO i have a p decent grasp of the batfam and whatnot but i havent had the oppurtunity to read many comics so i dont even.#what if i just FAIL at their characterization and im actually wronf magically#and then ALSO comes the question of should i include my batman dc oc? bc SHES a whole. package. theres a LOT to unpack w her. tho for this s#pecific fic idea i think itd be fun to just. have her be Another Batfam Member. like yeah shes got her own stuff going on. but this fic woul#dnt dive into it anymore than it dives into the other batfam members#the other issue is deciding where in the mcu timeline this oc gets thrown into an au and why and how or if that affects the mcu timeline fro#m there. cuz thatd need to be decided for the sake of flashbacks. and if im gonna ise flashbacks id love to try and plan it out so it aligns#with the plot happening in gotham. i dont necessarily want like. a running Plot in the flashbacks. but id want them to be scenes from her li#fe in mcu that reveaal stuff that helps understand the decisions she makes in the gotham plot#but ALSO in the gotham plot. id wanna have it either be that her presence has caused some sort of ripple that the gotham baddies are using t#o hirt people or else some other unrelated gotham baddies plot is happening and this oc being herself sees trouble and runs towards it to tr#y and help people. even tho she has her own stuff to deal w. and then makes herself a target of the gangs and also potentially screws someth#ings up bc she doesnt have as intimate of knowledge abt the baddies and gangs as the batfam do since most of em grew up in the streets of g#otham one way or another#so like. and like she can hold her own. she was a young woman in brooklyn in the 30/40s. but its still a different environment in gotham rat#her than in brooklyn new york. so itd be. yeah. tbh i feel like the fact that im putting this much thought into it means i will probably try#to write and post it on ao3. idk when tho. im trying not to post more fics on ao3 so i can focus on my xmen fic#sso. anyway if you read all this feel free to share your thoughts and or like. sorry not sorry for the rambly essay of tags <3#i told you jasper rambles

I got super attached to leshy while playing cult of the lamb and because there's hardly any leshy-centric fics i've fallen down something of a rabbit-hole of planning my own story.
And, well, I've finally collected all the lore in the game (didn't want to spoil the lore for myself... did that with way too many games already) and like, wow, ok, lol, the 5 bishops are significantly more morally fucked up than how they are generally portrayed in fanon. Emphasis on all 5 of them. That'll definitely present an interesting challenge given the plot i've already somewhat mapped out. Very interesting to work with a cast of characters where everyone is morally corrupt to varying degrees but honestly i have no idea if i'll even be able to tactfully pull it off
#at the very least this still generally fits the themes/arcs of the plot i planned out#we already know about the lamb slaughter issue which is already really bad in itself#but the ancient tablets very. and i mean VERY strongly imply that the 5 bishops killed all of the other crown bearers as well#this would be less of a problem if i didn't want to put leshycat in the fic#anyways#literally just me rambling#honestly shocking i haven't really posted much about cotl on this blog yet#brainrot on par with when I got into hollow knight and rain world#cult of the lamb#text

// general plotting/upcoming arc talk in the tags
#ooc post#between thyme and space#i know it's not really something that I've talked about a lot but i would genuinely love to connect Basil more with other characters here#she has a very large family and has traveled a lot; it's not outside of the realm of possibility she'd have some odd connections#rotumblr is a very different beast to the discord roleplay that I'm used to#so I'm not sure if there's a better way to plot out stuff like this#but i am in the 18+ Pokeblr server as well as the ex-team calm raid planning one lol#i love you characters i love you interactjng with other people's characters#this feels incoherent lol#also id have to double check if im allowed but i would be down to invite people to the ex team calm server#we changed it into more of a chill thing#also. if anyone wants to be involved in the between thyme and space arc that would be fun :>#basilblogging

2023 reads / storygraph
Last Violent Call
two novellas set before FHH
adding some extra detail between both duologies, follows TVD characters helping some young people running away from being experimented on, and investigating a murder on a week-long train trip
Foul Heart Huntsman
finale to the series
Rosalind has been outed as a spy and is being toured around the country while trying to find a way to save Orion, and stop the dangerous experiments from getting in the wrong hands with the impending foreign invasion
#last violent call#foul heart huntsman#aroaessidhe 2023 reads#ok i enjoyed these mostly they're fun to read#what is the actual plot stuff happening…..I feel like i only paid half attention to that#ok the thing about this series. is that it’s very much built around the characters and relationships#the plot is clearly there and well planned. but as far as the scifi stuff it’s just kinda…..serving the dramatic character arcs and stuff#all of the character interactions are very…not necessarily tropey#but like. I can feel the ‘wink nudge look at this cute or devastating thing that is happening’#(and most are paired up (other than The Aroace))#None of this is necessarily bad - it’s overall pretty well written and definitely gets you emotionally invested in the story#and honestly a lot of books could be more indulgent with their characters - but also I can’t not think about it while I’m reading lmao#the novellas specifically I could feel the ‘these YA characters are now in their 20s but it’s still being written for a YA audience’ LMAO#rosalind seeing juliette for the first time made me tear up tho

time foe more ProjectMoon Lore!!
In the city exist Syndicates, usually associated with a district. Like most Gangs and criminal organizations they have their own ruled and procedures. Since it would take a while to explain that and because I'm lazy so I'll name a few of them.
The Middle a syndicate that is sub organization for a greater one known the Fingers.
TinTang Gang
And the Index another Finger. They can be described as mad artist.
//So its a wretched hive then? That's what I'm getting.
//This is very interesting stuff but I don't think at the moment, I plan to have people from the Voidship visit that place.
//I say "at the moment" because well...next arc will among many things reveal something very important.
//That will open the door to a lot of possibilities. What it is? You have to find out.
//Or guess as I already hinted in the Christmas Arc what is it.
#review anon talks#xi-virtious-vices#unlike kana's christmas adventure#i have more of a plan for next arc#with a main plot#and two major side plots#as well as anything chaotic that occurs within the arc#that might spill over into the following arcs#and what you guys give me to work with#since yeah its gonna be wild#once i finish the review
