hi, i took notice of some of your tags and wanted to ask if ur okay with that!! what exactly is wrong with identifying as median (we're not one)? /gen

just as far as i'm aware, it's supposed to be a term for a subtype of osdd-1, which is characterised by parts less distinct from one another. is this term bad because it's been worded horribly by pluralpedia, or is there something else that makes it problematic to use? /genq /nfta

Hey! So we found it out when looking into terms that way we could put the main ones as dni. (also wanted to say we always like questions!!! We're happy to answer)

From everything we found, it's an endo way of appropriating and making OSDD-1A fit an endo term. Everything we've managed to find is basically "yeah so it's a halfway point between a system and not being one (interjecting here to say we don't use the common term we think of cheese lol) aaaaand traumagenics don't use it! It's our term! You have OSDD-1A! This is ours!"

We'll admit we could be wrong but even when we look through like the median tag just to see, it's all endos using it

i'm going insane. i have a distinct memory of jonny sims and alex newall talking about the casting of nikola orsinov -- basically alex was like, "love this character that you wrote, Jonny, but i just don't think we're gonna be able to find anyone to play them!" and then Jonny was like, "actually, meet my friend jessica law!!"

but i cannot find it ANYWHERE. I'm PRETTY sure it's not in any of the transcripts -- was it in a stream somewhere?? I'm going crazy. This is what the Stranger does to people.

i've only listened to the first season of the penumbra podcast but i already have a pretty solid appearance in mind for rita: she's short and plump, and dresses like a woman in a gary larson cartoon despite being no older than 30. she's incredibly skilled in martial arts, can wipe the floor with up to 3 men simultaneously, and has at least one weapon on her at all times. she never recalls either of those last 3 facts. she's been mugged 7 times in the last 3 months.

one thing that i LOVE about the queen's thief series is that MWT really took the time to make sure that we all understand that the protagonist is a weird, whiny little shit. like, she could have said "oh gen was just PRETENDING to be whiny and insufferable in The Thief, he's actually cool and suave!!"

but no. she establishes that he's a genius who's been running a con the whole time, and ALSO he's whiny and insufferable.

People often romanticize and long for things they know they cannot have - boomers grew up with an economy that hadn't yet failed, with people telling them they would succeed, and most of them did. Millenials grew up in a world where they were told the same things and had to watch it all fall apart while they were halfway through their journey to a happy ending. But our generation? Gen Z? We never had the fairytale ending. We've grown up in a world where the economy has failed, where education and three meals a day and comfy clothes are privileges, not basic rights. We've grown up knowing we will never have our happy ending, or a proper ending at all. Global warming, bigotry, misogynists and sexism and homophobia, being told we're just kids and teens and cant have opinions on important important things but the people telling us that grew up not needing those opinions so how could they possibly know? We grow up being pitted against eachother, always striving to be better to be the best but never being able to reach it because the standards are so incredibly high but the standards are such bullshit. We dont want a perfect happy ending, we don't want a good job and a mansion and a marriage, we want to live. To travel, and learn, and cry and laugh and look at the stars but we cant because the skies are full of ash. We can't because of old systems and prejudice that people refuse to take down simply because it benefits them. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep dying and old cishet white men are still in charge of everything even though it's so incredibly clear that when you remove them things get better. Our generation, Gen Z, we might not be the ones to change the world, and we might not live to see the changes we want so bad implemented, but we are going to he the ones that tear everything down and give the world a chance to restart. We are Generation Z, and if you have a problem with us you will burn.

He commandeers the kitchen. People let him because apparently he's a war hero and he's made enough sacrifices in his nineteen years of life. The resident seventeen-year-old war hero ambles into the kitchen halfway through the baking process and settles herself on the flour-dusted countertops like a cat. Hunk works around her.

"Whatcha coding?" he asks, pointing his chin at her wrist-com.

"Eh," says Pidge. "Did you know Lance and Keith are beating the shit out of each other on a daily basis? When did that start?"

"About a week ago." Hunk uses an ice-cream scoop to ladle out cookie dough on baking parchment. "How did you find out?"

"Veronica told me. She was worried. I went to see for myself." Pidge whistles. "It was something."

Hunk shrugs. "Red Paladins."

Pidge nods. "Red Paladins. It's a miracle Shiro's allowing it. Then again, I think Shiro's hungover."

"How do you know that?"

"My brother threw up in the trash can outside my room and conked out in the hallway. Matt doesn't drink alone. I didn't even know this ship had alcohol aboard."

"Well, obviously we're not supposed to know about it because we're underage."

"That's bullshit."

Hunk considers it. "That is bullshit."

"I think we should take this opportunity to do what normal teens are doing," says Pidge. "This is a chance to perform the traditional youthful idiocies that we rightfully should have performed two years ago."

"You're absolutely right."
