💗Revival H&H au character sketches + lore bits!

The StunStick, while essentially being an over-glorified taser strapped to a prybar, is crucial for the characters because it’s the only weapon proven to be fatal to the Security Henrys. It was assembled by a past mechanic who had left notes for future readers on how to survive the Arcadia androids. The device becomes prevalent throughout the story as it travels from hand to hand.

am I the only one annoyed about the whole "if a character isn't using an iPhone then they must be a villain because Apple doesn't allow their products to be used by villains in tv shows" theory being applied everywhere?? like, I've seen soo many comments already focusing on the fact that Devon is using an Android phone in s2e7 and therefore she must be a villain actually and I just feel like Severance as show seems to be above things like this lol

also apparently there were no iPhones at all in the show so I have no idea why so many people just ran with this idea, the whole "no iPhone = villain" rule doesn't even always apply so please come up with some better theories about Devon pleaseee

People on the severance subReddit were arguing that Cold Harbor is going to be severing someone right before they die and im sorry but that makes zero sense. Firstly that goes against the apparent agenda of the board, which is to achieve a type of immortality. Secondly it doesn’t really make sense from a company perspective either if their clients will be dying and thus unable to spend more money on their products. Thirdly they still would very much die obviously the only difference is they wouldn’t be conscious during it but come on it would be way easier just to euthanize them and use sedatives and you’d get the same effect. Plus the patient would still have effectively the same shit happen, they will know this is the last moment they’d be conscious and that they’d never wake up so?

It’s still not as annoying/stupid as thinking Miss Huang is a Gemma clone/her and Mark’s daughter considering let’s be real there’s some racism happening there, they aren’t even of the same asian descent and the timeline absolutely doesn’t work you and the only hints we have towards potential cloning is the goats anyway. But what do you expect it’s Reddit.

And oh yeah people complaining Devon was out of character/secretly working for Lumen are just…. Come on. The evidence is she uses an Android phone (because they wouldn’t give a villain an iPhone on an Apple TV show which idk if that’s a thing they do or not), though I can’t remember ever actually seeing anyone have an iPhone on the show they probably have some stupid Lumen brand shit. And also that she tried to call Cobel who is clearly their enemy like what do you want her to do??? Her brother nearly died from basement brain surgery by a mad scientist experimenting on him like a rat who didn’t even restrain him during the operation and is shady as fuck and won’t give her any straight answers beyond “Gemma is still alive” without any further explanation. And the only person she knows who actually might know what to do is Cobel, whom while yes she might turn them in obviously that’s a risk might also know how to save him. She’s panicking and desperate! What do you want from her! Why would she be with Lumen when she’s always been in Mark’s corner and hates Lumen more than any other unsevered character on the show and is disgusted by her husband cooperating with them! Come ON people

In response to your last anon, people do go overboard with their “main character Gemma” thing. There was a post a while back with like 90 notes arguing that she should be THE main character, saying that Gemma has something neither Mark and Helly have, her innies and outies are in agreement about something, that they all love Mark. I really feel like you have to be watching a completely different show if you think Miss Casey loves Mark more than Helena does. They’re really pulling things out of their asses trying to come up for arguments as to why she’s more complex than hellyna. Like, it’s ok to prefer the less complex character, there’s a lot of dark shit going on with hellyna that some people just don’t vibe with and that’s fine! But don’t try to take something fundamental to hellyna’s character journey (them both falling for Mark) and try to prescribe it to your fave. Anyway, I could never hate Gemma but many of her fans are functionally illiterate.

you should see the bullshit gaining traction on twitter but lmao it's just demographics doing their job, the general population has never been smart and this show is way too popular not to be inundated with people who wouldn't get the plot if it hit them in the face.

and yeah!!! liking hellyna requires a level of engaging with complexity in fiction that isn't easy to teach to everyone (i'm thinking of the endless complaining in literature classes), but she is the main character, and gemma is woefully underdeveloped for all the noise they make around her. the majority of these viewers will bail the moment gemma gains a sliver of complexity and moral ambiguity (which is when i will begin to be more interested in her), and the sooner that happens the better, both for the sake of gemma acquiring depth as a character and not just a plot device and to clear the air on severance socials from people who are practically hatewatching at this point. i genuinely do not get the gemma worship given that we know so little about her, that ms casey was always intended as an uncanny valley android-seeming character, and that her screen time is comparable to devon's.

i don't even have anything new to say about the romance comparisons than i've said before, it's the difference between a 15-minute montage meant to provide evidence for mark's grief and hopefully make the audience care enough about the ending to feel torn, and literally the entirety of the show.

we've spent so much more time with hellyna, seen so many more sides of her, and have delved so much deeper into what makes her a person, the good and bad and everything in between. that's what makes her a great character, and britt isn't going anywhere no matter how much they complain online. this ain't build a bitch, hellyna is the main character in this show, she's the audience guide in season one, the catalyst for the season one endgame and the season two endgame (without her insistence mark was not going to that testing floor), and this story is about her fight against the restrictions that have been imposed against her, and by extension others, since both of her births. all this whining is going to do is waste these viewers' time.

Personne ne peut croire plus pour nous que nous même, c'est pourquoi il est important que nous sachions comment. Depuis la naissance, on nous a enseigné comment recevoir les choses matérielles. Les choses spirituelles peuvent être reçues de la même façon que nous recevons les choses sur le plan naturel ou matériel. Nous ne pouvons rien dans le passé des gens; ce que nous pouvons faire est d'enseigner que ce qu'ils étaient dans le passé peut être pardonné et oublié, et qu'ils peuvent aller de l'avant avec la grandeur de la puissance de Dieu.

C'est pourquoi nous devons non seulement savoir ce qui est disponible si nous devons vivre la vie dans l'abondance, mais nous devons aussi savoir comment recevoir les choses spirituelles de Dieu. Après que nous les aurons reçues de Dieu, en troisième lieu, nous devons savoir que faire de ces choses spirituelles.

Par exemple, un appareil Android est disponible et je sais comment le recevoir, mais à moins de savoir qu'en faire après que je l'aurai reçu. Je sais comment le recevoir, mais alors si je l'utilisais comme houe, cela ne servirait pas à grande chose, n'est-ce pas? II n'est pas conçu pour cela. Dans le domaine spirituel nous devons savoir que faire une fois que nous avons reçu ce qui est disponible.

II y a des gens qui savent ce qui est disponible et ils savent comment le recevoir; mais quand il s'agit de savoir qu'en faire ils sont entièrement perdus, surtout lorsqu'il s'agit de saint esprit. Pour en trouver l'usage correct, nous devons encore une fois aller à la Parole de Dieu.

Devon was seated in the lounge, flipping through a recipe book. She could not help but get a little caught up in the elegantly, well lit, glossy photos of food she was not able to taste for herself. She hummed a little as she canted her head from one side to the other. She was speaking to no one in particular as she opened her mouth. “Is it strange that I would want to learn how to cook?” She looked over at the person and offered them a kind smile. “I mean I am not able to eat the food, but it is a practice I have always been interested in. And when I was a caregiver I did know some basics.” She expressed as she flipped through the pages some more.

“However I would not want to be wasteful. Perhaps I could invite some friends over, maybe even someone in the cells to come and enjoy the dishes I make.” She blinked as she considered this. She paused for a moment before rolling her shoulders back. “I do apologize, I have just been talking at you. I was actually looking for input I promise.”

It had been ages since Qhuinn had set foot in the lounge. Funny, because not long ago it would be the place to find her if she wasn’t at home or work. But large groups had been harder for her lately, so she had been avoiding it. Today was a good day though. She had some energy, and was actually feeling a bit social. So before closing the bakery, she packed up a dozen or so cupcakes and headed down there with Remus.

She had just sat down to nurse a coffee, near a girl with a cookbook. Which of course got her attention. The wolf smiled as the lovely woman talked, gray eyes alight with curiosity. Her aura and scent were so..unusual. But the talk of food had her attention the strongest. “No please, talk as much as you’d like! I own a bakery, so I could talk about food all day” She giggled. “Maybe..I could give you a few pointers? If you’d like?”
