We're noticing more people being interested in the Raggedy Ann fandom since the Amazing Digital Circus pilot released, so we thought we'd update our masterpost on where to find more Raggedy Ann media!

Books:

The first two and most well-known books are Raggedy Ann stories (1918) and Raggedy Andy stories (1920), which are in public domain and free to read online! Camel with the Wrinkled Knees (1924) (which the movie was loosely based on!) is on Internet Archive and available to read without an account. You can find many of the other books on there as well.

Cartoons:

The 1940's has Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy (1941), Suddenly It's Spring (1944), and The Enchanted Square (1947).

You've got the 1977 Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure of course.

The Chuck Jones holiday TV specials: Raggedy Ann and Andy in The Great Santa Claus Caper (1978) and Raggedy Ann and Andy in The Pumpkin Who Couldn't Smile (1979).

Chapter 174

The big question for this chapter is why AD helped the doll escape. My theory is that he's trying to keep Anton, specifically, away from her, but it's worth noting that a lot of people think he and the doll/32 have some sort of special connection.

I don't think that's very likely. His parents are 4-star or 3-star, not allowed on the fifth level, and there was an eight year time-skip between when the doll was thrown into the garbage shoot (and presumably when 32 died) and when she woke up. AD was about eight years old at the time Andy was born. The Mizuha clones were in a lab on the highest level. Although AD has an uncle—Rabbit—who is a Kaibara employee, it's very unlikely that he was up there without a tag-chip at eight years old. It's possible, I guess?? But it doesn't make much sense.

AD was also looking for the doll on Rabbit's orders the first few times we saw him. He even successfully captured her at one point. But clearly something's changed. Between then and now, the new variable that's been added to the equation is Anton. In Chapter 170.4, AD had Bon in his hands but voluntarily let him go when he saw that Anton was in trouble. Helping the doll might be an attempt to undermine Anton's reign of terror for his own good.

Or, actually? The doll is the one who suggests that AD may have come to warn them, because she wants to believe that she has a past and that there are people out there who care about her. But it might just be that she spared his life and he wanted to repay the favor. He would probably prefer capturing an immortal to capturing someone who's lacking like him.

Fushi's still doing their best to respect other people's resolve. Maybe not the right call for this specific situation but good on them.

If AD never had a chip embedded to begin with, that means his mom gave birth to him, meaning—by Fushi's logic—that his parents loved each other that much. And it's true, when they have Andy made they do seem pretty lovey-dovey. But having the first child born naturally and the next child created exactly how they like seems to imply that there's something unsatisfying about AD. Something "lacking," as it were. Sorry.

Although AD is literally from both of their DNA, they created Andy to match the two of them. Literally, his eye colors were chosen to look like theirs. From an outsider's perspective, AD must seem like the odd one out.

Despite that, AD and Anton's relationship looks pretty good. Anton used to look up to him, we can tell that much from the way he idolized the pick-up hunters and went off to help them the instant he was old enough. Now he's patronizing AD because he's suddenly so much stronger. So... it's a little bit tumultuous. Nothing big, just something tiny that might blow up later.

Just want to say, at this point Fushi's friends die all the time. Gugu just said so on the previous page. Tonari died earlier this morning. It's such a common occurrence that everyone thinks it's a little strange that Fushi's protesting. @kafkaoftherubble pointed out (or I pointed it out... I genuinely don't remember) that they probably don't want their friends to see anything they shouldn't as ghosts. So that's... interesting.

I got a bit carried away, so I've put most of this under the cut.

Fic with the most hits: (55,698) In A Twinkling - No surprises here, I guess. My first foray into the world of Advent Fics was a whirlwind. Something about this story just (and I strongly believe the chapter-a-day release method was the driving forcer here) really drew people in. FUN FACT - Out of all of my fics, this is the only one I've never re-read. I feel like I lived and breathed this story so intensely as it was posting, and it was such a unique and special experience, that I almost want to keep it in a little time capsule forever.

Fic with the second most kudos: (1,737) When Tomorrow Comes This is probably the fic of mine that people come back to read more than any other, which is so lovely and quite surprising, as it's only 11k. I adore writing ABO. It's my fave trope, I think. I remember when I read my first ABO fic, Swim In The Smoke (and yes I know, I was late to the party here, and the world of fanfic in general), I was blown away. FUN FACT - This fic is not just 11k, it's actually exactly 11,111 words. I recall finishing the story and it landed on this word count, and I was like - whoa., okay then. But then I had to go back and make a few late edits before it posted, so I had to purposefully make sure it still came out at 11,111, because, you know. Why not?

Fic with the third most comments: (234) From Dust To Lust - This one is a bit of a surprise, but then I went back and looked at some of the comments and was reminded of the overwhelming love this fic received. This love was headed up by none other than @disgruntledkittenface, who practically inhaled this story and whose comments are so kind and enthusiastic that they give me life. Thank you, Maggie, I adore you. FUN FACT - I wrote this story for one scene and one scene only. It's in Chapter 3 and the rest of the story is just an enabler to allow me to indulge in that moment. For anyone who has read the fic, you'll know exactly which one I'm talking about, and for those who haven't, maybe this is enough of a tease to encourage you to go and check it out hahaha.

Fic with the fourth most bookmarks: (755) Player - Well, well, well. Hello there, old friend. This one is such a fun ride. Harry is a pro tennis player and Louis is his Publicist. It's an easy job for Louis 'cause, you know, Harry's amazing, until he Instagram's an x-ray to his 18 million followers that just happens to clearly show his dick. I'm a bit surprised that this has the fourth most bookmarks, but it's been appearing on a few rec lists lately (thanks @allwaswell16 !!) and is experiencing a bit of a resurgence in interest. FUN FACT - This fic was inspired by a true incident when UK tennis pro, Andy Murray, did exactly this back in 2019 after his hip surgery. No seriously. Google it. It's brilliant.

Fic with the fifth most words: (55,916) If You're Out There (I'll Find You Somehow) - Oh man. This fic. Okay, so, firstly, if I'm ever asked if there is a story of mine I've most proud of, or one that I hope people will read, it's probably this one. The challenge is, that it isn't everyone's cup of tea. It's a hybrid fic. Yup. I can already feel you scanning down this post to the next bullet point. But wait! Hear me out. Yes, Louis is a kitten hybrid (a kybrid), so he has a tail and cat ears, and he hasn't had the best life, nor have any hybrids for that matter. And it's a historical fic without any fixed time period, because the world is entirely invented, so readers have to allow themselves to be completely immersed in what I present them. But, while the world is hard and unfair at times, good triumphs in the end, and in a way that is truly uplifting. The Epilogue is possibly one of the best things I've ever written and I swear I cry happy tears every time I re-read it (which is a lot). FUN FACT - The story that nearly wasn't. At the time I wrote this story I'd sort of been inhabiting a nice little corner of the fanfic world. Each new story I put out there was easy enough to write and people were receiving them well and enjoying my imaginations. When this idea came to me though, it knocked me on my ass. I thought about it constantly. It consumed my musing by day and invaded my dreams by night. But writing a hybrid fic seemed like I was stepping out onto a new landscape and it was pretty scary not knowing how people would respond. There were plenty of times when I nearly gave up and packed it in, but I had lovely people around me to encourage me and keep that fire lit. And so, I persevered, and I'm so glad I did.

Fic with the fewest words: (666) Exposed - This fic was so much fun to write! It was written for the Trick or Treat Fest back in 2019 and had a word count requirement of exactly 666 words. I'm not much for shorter fics because I like to write whole story arcs, so the challenge for me was to try and do that in 666 words. FUN FACT - This is 1 of only 2 fics, out of 63 total fics that I've written, that is rated Mature. The other 61 are rated Explicit. I managed to justify a mature rating in 666 words because Louis is basically naked for the entirety while he's posing as a live-art installation covered in body paint hahaha.

Cosmic Indifference - a Murder Drones AU

Let's start things off by taking a step back. We are stuck in a hole beneath the ice and stone. It's boring here. Let's see the sights this planet has to offer.

...Hmm, strange. Did Uzi and her crew get smaller? Well, it's probably nothing to worry about.

Let's take another step back. Copper 9 implies that it's the 9th planet in this system. What are the others like? Do they have Drones? Are they plagued by Disassembly Drones and Solver infections?

Ok, the main cast is definitely smaller now. As if they're... becoming insignificant the farther back we go. But we can't stop now.

Another step back. The Copper system is but a singular solar system among untold trillions, and each and every one has its own stories. The traumas our favorite Drones face are so small from up here.

But what if we went even further? Now we are among not just the universe, but the multiverse. What manner of cosmic beings - gods, even - are out here? How do they perceive the Solver? Is it a great threat to them? Or is it a mere blip in the grand scheme of things? Uzi, N, V, J, Tessa, Khan, Nori, Yeva, Cyn, they are all mere specks of dust from up here, floating adrift in an unfeeling and uncaring universe. And, when you think about it, that's what they are; clumps of cosmic stardust created and given sentience by other dust clumps.

This world is indifferent to the plights of mortals. The gods do not care for the Drones, if they even know they're there. They are wrapped up in grander things. But what are these grander things? By studying the multiverse and the cosmic beings that govern its rules, what can we learn?

What happens when we embrace the Eldritch Truth?

So Ijust binged your undead unluck review tag and I realized something about Unchange specifically but could apply to all external type negators, rather than the internal type (I think that's the words they use? Basically, this would apply to the negators who affect things besides themselves, but not the ones who only affect themselves).

Negation powers are focused around the soul, as we see when Ichico's soul leaves her body, she can sleep because Unsleep is attached to her soul. But that also means that the soul and the body are separate in the UU world.

So Gina's Unchange supposedly doesn't work on her own body. But I have to wonder... What if she thought of her soul as the "interior" and thus her body is an "external". So she can't Unchange her soul, but she *could* Unchange her body. Theoretically, she could have that forever young body she wants.

And this could apply to anyone with a external-type negation power, though I don't think anyone would get as much use out of it as Gina. For some people, like Chikara and Shen, that probably wouldn't do much unless they had a mirror, and for people like Fuuko (where activation requires touch) it would just be a hassle. But Gina and Isshin could use that technique to basically make themselves invincible.

And we do kind of see this happen with Rip! Now, Rip is an interesting case, because I don't know if he counts as an external or internal negator. Is it that "everything HE rips can't be repaired again" (internal) or that "EVERYTHING he rips can't be repaired again" (external)? I'm leaning towards external-type, as his negation seems to affect not just things he directly does, but things indirectly done by him. But if external negators can't un-whatever themselves, how did Rip mess up his eye?

I know that Gina doesn't need to be forever young, and honestly most external-types probably don't have any use for using their negator power on themselves, but still. We see how internal types can expand to other things (Sean turning himself and his brothers invisible, Fuuko imbibing her favorite things with unluck), so it would be interesting to see the use of souls to level up external types as well.

This is a concept that I spend a lot of time thinking about, and the conclusion that I've come to is that "external" and "internal" targetting are just as up to interpretation as any other facet of the Negator power system, though some Negator abilities will inherently make that trickier than others

Unrepair, for example, targets damage as a concept rather than the person or object that the damage is inflicted upon. We are explicitly shown that this means that Rip can use Unrepair on himself just as easily as he can use it on others because he isn't targetting himself, he's targeting the wound

Sean, as you pointed out, pushes this concept even further in that he should be an internal-targeter, but because he can expand his range to include things that are "his," he can extend Unseen to people that are "his family", invalidating or negating our previous understanding of the internal/external delineation by redefining external targets as within his personal internal world

However, Gina is a bit of a special case. Based on our understanding of Unrepair and Unseen, under normal circumstances you would be right, Gina should be able to target her body if she views it as a separate external entity to her soul, but Gina has an additional, unrelated rule that is not so easily broken: she cannot target living matter. We know that Unchange can target inert organic matter, as Billy was able to target Andy's blood blade after it had left his body, but we are explicitly told that Gina can't use Unchange on a person directly. She can use it on the air around them to keep them from speaking, moving or breathing, but she can't paralyze someone by directly targeting their body

If she could do that, I think that she would end up recreating Undead; by targeting her cells, she could ensure they never die or take damage, making her not just perennially youthful, but also making her literally invincible. Even if she would be affected by mental fatigue, all she would need to do is use Unchange on her brain so that her synapses never burn out or lose focus, ensuring that she's able to keep up the facade in perpetuity

It would take an incredibly broken ability and turn it into one that is completely unparalleled, and that just couldn't be allowed to happen

That said, I have also talked in the past about how Undead could be reinterpreted to allow it to be used as an external healing technique, so now seems like a good time to remind folks of that. Basically, I've suggested that if Andy were to give anyone else a blood transfusion, so long as he still considers it to be his blood, it would presumably be able to travel to whatever part it needs to go and repair any potentially deadly damage that would cause its current host to die, or at least do so in the time before the separated blood can disappear

This should at least be feasible with Fuuko if we use the same logic as Sean, with Fuuko "being a part of Andy." He already managed to sustain her by hooking up his veins to her heart, it would only take a slightly further leap in logic to allow him to heal her personally if that sort of thing happens again
