So, this is going to be a very long post as I've seen a lot of the movies. I also have a couple books which I can give my opinion, and I'm familiar with various apparitions in videogames and such. So yeah this is going to be a loooooooong post.

So, let's start with movies as those are easier to grab and talk about for me. I'm gonna go with their year of release ot keep things organized.

Shchelkunchik (1973)

Small silly dramatic guy, I like him! The animators did a great job animating his design and make him incredibly appealing. As for his human appearance, eeeeeh I don't really care for him. Definitely a shock the first time you see it lol But yes, adorable silly guy

Nutcracker Fantasy (1979)

Li'l guy. It is Sanrio so it's bound to be on the cute side. The Nutcracker itself doesn't do much in the movie, but as for Fritz himself, I... honestly don't care about him. He looks pretty, but personality wise he needs to work on it pff Idk he just comes out as plain and a little arrogant... Still a fine fellow, though.

Nutcracker: The Motion Picture (1986)

One of the two ballet-based movies I've seen, and definitely the better one of the two imo. And good lord I love this guy. He may look terrifying but good lord if he's silly. And I actually don't mind his human appearance as simple as it is. Silly man, this one.

The Nutcracker Prince (1990)

HIM. MY BELOVED. THE GOOD LAD. Definitely my favorite, and not because this was my most beloved childhood movie. He is such a sweetheart with a hint of awkwardness but who can still kick your ass. And the final scene in the castle in the Italian dub is just *chef kiss* 10/10 lad.

The Nutcracker (1993)

The other ballet-based movie... it's just Macaulay Culkin. And his nutcracker costume looks hideous lol. Nothign to say. Surprisingly, he's not the worst one.

Ripoff Ken. He is incredibly dumb, and a tiny bit of a freak, but could be worse honestly kdjng They did Barbie before Barbie did it lol that's p much it.

THE OTHER GOOD LAD. I love Eric so much he's such a sweetheart wanting to fix his mistakes. It's so easy to root for him. As for his human appearance... he's just Ken skjngf 10/10 lad #2

The Nutcracker and the MouseKing (2004)

Oh boy what to say about this one. Very hateful in the first half. At least he learns and becomes bearable at the last third of the movie. But I do like the nutcracker form, they made the blocky design work as well, like later on it's actually very nice to see him move. Still, horrible personality. Needs a slap in the face.

Nutcracker in 3D / Nutcracker: The Untold Story (2010)

Hellspawn. Nightmare fuel. Abomination. Who the hell approved to that design?? And why did they pitch up his voice like that?? At least the kid playing human NC is not as bad, but good lord. 0/10 Just burn that puppet with fire, please.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018)

This one just pisses me off. This one had so much potential, and the actor is actually good. It's just the way his character was written that is dog awful. They made him basically a dumb side character who barely does anything despite everyone in the movie treating him like he's a big shot. And the the fact that this was made by Disney just makes this worse. Just so much lost potential.

I actually don't know who made this movie or in which year, but I do like this one. The movie is comedic so he's a bit silly, but he's still quite enjoyable. And for some reason he reminds me of Waluigi.... Still, silly guy.

As for other medias, hm... I have a couple books that are just the original story by Hoffman and the retell by Duman (of which I don't have much to say) and the graphic novel by Natalie Andrewson.

He's just a li'l guy, silly kid but enjoyable.

As much as I now despise Overwatch for many reasons, I still love Zenyatta's nutcracker skin to death. Look at this silly guy. Definitely my favorite skin in the game.

Saints Row IV

SR4 had a Christmas themed DLC, and among all the xmas reskins of the enemies, one was the terminator-like enemies being turned into Nutcrackers. And their design look so sick.

I don't play Fortnite, but I do have to admit that the nutcracker guy looks neat. The crazy look fits the look quite well. If I would ever get in there (I doubt it but still), that would definitely be the skin I would use.

I don't play LC neither but I've seen videos of the nutcracker enemy in action, and yeah he looks silly. I love how he moves around.

SONAMY ongoing evolution

I've been playing Sonic frontiers and I watched Sonic prime and I read the IDW comics... Omg where's do I start???

Sonic frontiers is just a work of art in general, but the sonamy inside is just beautifully portrayed, I can say that Ian Flynn totally ships them 😌😌. I'm just so utterly happy how things had changed even if it took so many years

Sonic changed a lot his perception of Amy! 🥲🥲🥲 Also the detail of the umbrella line, remember that sonic was created in Japan, say fellow anime fans what does usually means when two characters share an umbrella? What does it mean when students in Japan draw an umbrella in the blackboard with two names written under it? It is clear that Ian Flynn totally knows the meaning and the MUSIC! Seriously those scenarios with Amy and that music felt like it came right out of a shojo anime😖😖😖💗💗

But also the feels... THE FUCKING FEELS!! The way Amy is kind of too calm with her situation but Sonic is just so worried and you could tell how worried he was even if he tried to play it cool... His expressions girl... Look at him with his cute ears dropped 🥲🥲🥲 Guys this game fed us good stuff... We shippers finally got what we had always wanted.

So I'm a bit conflicted, cause i only liked one of Amy's different designs and that was Thorn Rose, I'm obsessed with her hair but dude Rusty Rose? That could have been better... Also why Rusty Rose and not Metal Rose? Cyborg Rose? Badnik Rose? Mecha Rose? Robot Rose? Rusty sounds a bit degrading... It is because she was made like that by the Egg council? Pff also her robot appearance is just so ugly! What with that eye? But I love the dark concept and I love her SASS 🤣🤣🤣🤣Anyway my problem with Rusty Amy and Sonic is that it feels like the situation is not treated nearly as serious as Nine situation and boy ok you are a hurt loner with bully victim issues but Amy is basically dead, like there's no flesh or organs in her, she literally has a Birdy as a source of life and what is the outcome of that? Is there another outcome different from Gamma's fate in sonic adventure? Because the second Amy gets back her emotions she will want to release the bird... But more importantly... I can't wait to see Shadow react to her... This is the girl that reminded him of Maria, i really shouldn't but I really have high expectations for what kind of interaction will they have, we really need to see Shadow and Amy interact more let's be honest. As for the other Roses, there's no much to say about Black Rose but with Thorn we got good stuff too:

It's a bit ridiculous that she could fight off characters like Rouge and Knuckles THAT EASY is just...🙃🙃🙃 Well i loved the part when he tries to reason with her all like: you liked me... A bit? Actually touch her cheek you COWARD!!😤😤 Also when he was about to smash her and but stopped because he has a flashback of his Amy 😭😭😭, it's curious that Thorn Rose seems to be more impactful in Sonic than Rusty Rose which is ok but is odd plot speaking, after all Rusty is the one in the worst condition and is the one hunting him down, I'll just wait for next season and see what happens

And last but not the least I Shall say something about THIS!!

And of course the important reminder that Amy is a POWER CHARACTER and that's why she and knuckles make a good POWER SIBLINGS team as I stated in their own post about them... And dear Silver fucking gave her a COLOSSAL hammer 😂😂😂do not mess with the pink hedgehog buddy, and of course Sonic knows exactly how awesome she is as it should be, seriously she is really getting better and better, i really hope we'll see her in the next movie

The Tender Loving Man Handling you reblogged from the animated adaptation of Castlevania, and you ask me, all the OT3 shippy art is *not* an exaggeration. I don't think the three leads *canonically* wind up together or anything, but it's very subtext-y and at the very least the trio's friendship is endearing.

The show isn't just the shipping, tho- good action, good drama, a really well written antagonist you know has to be taken down but you see the guy *hurting* and you wish it didn't have to go that way. I think you'd like it.

🌼Spring-Summer☀️ Update🌻 Hello! Hello! How is my SouHaru nation doing this fine day? I hope you’re all doing great!😊 I mean, do you even remember this blog at all… 😅Ah~ I’m terribly sorry for the lack of word on the ongoing fics but RL is a mess. Haha🥲 Alright, I just need to state this, first, so that I can remember what an idiot I am… I managed to spent three whole days, from Saturday to Monday, scrolling through art in tumblr with only a couple hours of sleep in between and at the third day I was like; ‘Ok, I feel so freaking motivated to draw right now!’ and picked up my sketchbook, right? You, guys… 😓 the minute I opened a blank page, I stared at it and went: ‘Right, now what? Uh… Oh! Let’s try X character’s face!’ and not that character did I not manage to draw… but not even an egg could I map out!!! 😱 And what did I do, you ask? I picked back up my phone to scroll down some more art on tumblr for yet one more day! Of course! Ha! Ah, but then it hit me— I was so sleepy that after that I had a ten-hour nap that broke the cycle. Pff!~😅 But not to drag this any further, I was in a really bad headspace since the end of March and this was like the lowest of my lows… So… Yeah… Anyway, now onto the actual update…

On Thursday, I had some progress with a Free! WIP I was stuck for a long — looong (not gonna say exactly how long, it’s embarrassing) — time and(!) a Jujutsu Kaisen WIP the day before. I’m so glad!? ☺️ I really hope I can keep this momentum going and finish these two stories within the next couple months, because I’m tired going back over dozens of WIPs again and again. 😮‍💨 Plus, it doesn’t help that I keep coming up with new project ideas. 😬

By the way, June is almost here and on July Jujutsu Kaisen second season is coming, too, so I’m excited for it, as well! Even if I have been spoiler-ed for it… Still, I tried keeping away from spoilers as much as possible. Let’s see how that will go.😗 If I can’t get surprised by anything, I’ll get sour, though. (Just saying…)

Oh! I almost forgot! I, also, watched Free!💦 The Final Stroke part 2!✨ Sousuke is such a beautiful character— I was giggling at his every scene! 🤭 And we, SouHaru’s, finally got it on canon that Sousuke carried Haruka in his arms — I’ll be screaming this every time! — (because it was impossible to mount him for a piggyback ride with the way Haruka was sleeping!😉) to the infirmary. 🤩😍🤗🫠 I’m so moved and pleased by this~ 😌🥹🥰 Sure, I would have loved to see it animated, but well… it is KyoAni we’re talking about here, so it was a surprise they even let us have it as much as mentioned, in the first place…😗 (What do we have all this fanart of Sousuke carrying Haruka around, after all, if not for filling the gaps in canon! Right?!😋) I don’t know about you, guys, but I’m glad for the crumbs we managed to get this time around!😤 It is a vindication in and of itself that Sousuke is the one who can carry Haruka in his arms, because he has such a huge build and is so strong compared to everyone else — even Makoto! 🤗🫠🤗 Hm! So, random question. Do any of the Sanses like anime? If so, what genre do they like?

Fjsjnfjsnf something I’ve honestly never given much thought to but heck yeah, sure, why not.

Cross is an obvious yes. He probably likes most genres, but prefers something with a lot of action. He seems like the kinda dude that likes anything as long as the story is good and somewhat well written. Error’s probably up their too, but nothing is better than Undernovela.

Killer will watch it with him on occasion, especially the action scenes, or if something caught his attention. I can see him getting dragged into a series cuz he walked by one time, thought the fight looked cool, and just watched from that point on without caring to see whatever first episodes he missed. Likely also the guy that loves to make fun of the unrealistic bits, or get way too excited for gore XD

Horror’s kinda the same in the way that he won’t actively go out of his way to find a series himself, but if Cross is watching something bloody or a cooking anime, he’ll likely join in. Sometimes just to laugh at the ridiculousness of some of it (either in a “pff people don’t bleed THAT much lol” kinda way, or a “why is everything so sexual?!” in the case of Food Wars—)

Dust and Nightmare don’t care for it. They might sit around in the living room with the others and watch it but it doesn’t really peak their fancy.

Ink likes anything with a good art style and animation, sometimes even if the story is absolute shit. He’ll also watch the most disturbing stuff cuz he’s probably helped Creators make worse—

Dream and Blue like the nicer ones! Anything with generally a happy endings, or the domestic stuff. Blue likes action scenes too, as long as they aren’t u believably gorey. Dream mostly likes domestic slice of life cuz he wishes that simplicity is what he had ;w;

Everyone else is probably pretty neutral to it?? Like I see a lot of Sanses just watch it because their Alphys or Papyrus did but otherwise doesn’t have an overly positive or negative opinion on it. I guess Razz probably thinks it’s stupid XD

. “Humans outside”

I also talked about this in the video, but I find it interesting that we’ve heard two different insights from Krone and Sonju. “Humans on equal footing outside” vs. “there are no humans outside of the farms”. I really emphasized the “equal footing” thing in video, which also still does seems weird to me, and I can come to the following conclusions:

Krone just thinks they’re equals because they’re higher up the hierarchy than she is, but in reality even the top of the farms are oppressed by the demons as well.

for some reason, even after being heavily outnumbered by demons, humans found a way to be close to equal footing --- I mentioned breeding the humans for them in the video, and I still think that could be part of it but I also had a different thought: it’s interesting that it’s 1000 years - sad, my 2000 years theory didn’t hold up - because that implies 1000 years of technological advancement (phones, the camera, electronics are clearly a thing) still happened in the demon “world” (and we’ve never seen demons use them, they seem to be a human thing). The highest up the hierarchy we’ve seen happen to be the scientists. That’s why I think it’s plausible that humans are smarter than demons (cue the fascination and desert of smart people) and they provide technological advancement and food, and in exchange the top of that chain in the humans can “co-exist”. But we haven’t seen a lot of demon society so it’s hard to say if they’re just not as inventive as humans. And even if that WERE the case, I don’t think that’s enough to call it “equal”, it’s still a massive power difference. Though apparantly, SOMEHOW, the struggle used to be equal 1000 years ago, so- like I think “We’ll kill you” is still something that’s likely to be the winning argument even if there was the chance to be on equal grounding again.

But now that I’m thinking about it, even taking the “equal” thing away, it’s still contradicting. Krone specifically talked about the humans delivering goods, which are technically “outside” and still “in the farm (system)” - but they are definitely not on equal standing. So I don’t think she means the other working parts of the forms.

So I just wonder if there are humans who are benefitting from this system in some way for damning others. Hello ominous guy from the OP.

He doesn’t seem too oppressed, going to be honest. 

It’s possible I guess that the demons wanted to make sure that there wouldn’t be an uprising by having humans “on their side” and the higher ups, not concerned for the humans further down the food chain, agreed, thus making it a deal and “equal”. Since they can’t kill every human because they’re their precious food, so it’s a good idea to keep them in check and not have them hate them actively, but I think demons could still stop a human uprising??? It might be unnecessary drama though.

But even then, you can’t really say they keep up a good relationship with the higher up humans to make people further down cooperate, since they are driven by existential angst (become a mom or die). They know humans will cooperate them if you threaten them with death.

So I’m just really confused what makes the higher ups so different.

inb4 it was just Krone’s subjective knowledge and I make a fool of myself but again, ominous guy from the OP seems like he’s really enjoying this (assumingly high) standing he has.

yeah, I imagined some sort of visual to go along with the exposition bc the music sounded so fairytale / telling ish but then again, the anime never really showed things that were explained; and let the viewer imagine it.

So now I really have no idea if it's like... actual geographical separation (#more walls time) or like,, parallel worlds?? I feel like taking away the visuals kind of leaves more room for interpretations, and imagination but I still agree that it's sad they don't really play with imaginary things. it's kinda grounded in LA techniques in that aspect I feel.

About the reveal itself: I didn’t expect the potential solution to be revealed so soon, and it was different to what I expected. I’m still a little confused on how the demon vs human fighting was so balanced?? did demons use to be more like Sonju and Mujika, because then I can kind of get it I guess? Like humans have a chance then.

Or where they all just dumb dog demons bumping against trees because then I get it too pff-

Either way, as touched upon higher up: The demon world seems to have some classical human inventions. Does that mean that

a) the demon world just happens to have the people in it that made those inventions?

b) someone else invented them and there’s a similar technical progress in the “human world”? 

c) there’s no crossing between the worlds (according to Sonju), so it can’t be that the inventions are from the human world, I think. I wonder if we’ll see it and how different it’ll be from the demon world’s humans inventions.

The more I think about it, the more interesting I find this potential solution. It still seems a little too magical, but the setup is already magical and as my friends pointed out, it’s not just a matter of “go over there and be safe”.

Breaking the promise could start the demons being enraged at it and breaking it too, and the hunting could re-start.

Maybe it could be missed or just not noticed if just our group left, but Emma has learned nothing from her compromise in S1 and now plans to take EVERY CHILD, apparantly, probably soon to be replaced with every human. And that’s definitely not going to go down well with the demons.

I wonder if the eventual conclusion will be to save a small group of people, paralleling S1′s conflict. Save everyone vs. saving those you can right now and coming to terms with the sacrifices you made (which technically, hasn’t happened yet. For Emma it’s not like she gave them up, she’s going back for them. But as this story is being setup now, I think it’s highly impossible to take every human/every child). Which has pretty dark implications! You might get out, but the cycle will just start again as long as any humans exist in the demons’ world; the suffering will continue. Escaping already likely endangered the humans in charge of the farms, who likely won’t (or can’t in case of the implants in the moms) escape even if there’s a big scale rescue operation (plus good luck with getting everyone while having all demon forces on your back).

But I feel like that’s a more likely resolution than fighting a rebellion against the demons, which would likely have no end and no satisfying resolution. Obviously I’m not really sure where this story will lead and what will have to be done in order to cross over.

If it breaks the “promise” and figurative “wall” between the worlds, it could be damning all of humanity. So I guess the alternative resolution would be that they stay in the demon world, to not risk that, and do their best living a good life there, and also.... probably coming to terms with not being able to save everyone.

It’s also definitely not as satisfying from a storytelling perspective, but there’s a lot of interesting conflicts and dangers being setup.

Yeah it was sweet how he was like careful being like "i can't leave this around the kids", and being like "it's hard to say this" when he had to tell them about the rule to the promise or later when he asked Emma if they should not do the gupna thing this time. Like he's honest and direct but still caring and that's sweeto

. Mom Gilda

The scene with Emma and Gilda was amazing, it was so funny, but even then the art actually did look intimidating, which I felt they struggled with in S1 sometimes (Emma holding Ray’s hand telling him to never do it again was just like “pff-”) but this was really well done.

It just heavily parallels Isabella trying to tell Emma to become a Mom so that’s??? an interesting thing, that kind of threw me off for a bit.

But maybe that’s just confirming that Gilda is indeed the mom.

i feel like the art in general improved a bit tbh. Obviously with nature and fantastical elements there’s a lot more to MAKE look pretty but idk, it’s just nice!

All the stuff surrounding this was so sweet too, Jemima is too precious and panicky Ray as she’s crying is just adorable udshdjs. Also Lani and Thoma being like “can’t leave him alone for 2 seconds, keeps trying to die” is a big mood but also RIP Ray.

I really enjoyed writing this! Probably because I have Marshal and know him better than the other villagers I’ve written for. This one is much lighter than the last one. Also i made Marshal and Raymond best buds (because this is my blog and y’all can’t stop me)

Marshal thought of himself as out of the ordinary. His beautiful singing voice, his stunning looks, his amazing personality. Yup, as far as he was concerned, he was the ultimate package. Never had he really met a person who he thought was as amazing as him, sure there had been people who were close. But never quite there. One of those people was the grey cat whom he was currently drinking tea with.

“So, hows the house hunting going crisp?” Raymond had asked his shorter friend. Marshal was currently moving out of his previous village and was looking for a new home. “No, no I haven’t. It’s tough, but I can’t seem to find a lot of open villages as of late” He said, lifting up his teacup and gently placing it on his lips. “Oh? Haven’t you heard? Everyone’s moved onto islands now. All part of the Nook inc. getaway package” Raymond gave him a smile as he placed a hand onto the squirrels shoulder. This made Marshal perk up. “Huh? Island getaway? I heard old Nook was gonna start something new but I didn’t think he would do something like this...” This made the office cat laugh. “Well, it’s actually quite nice Crisp” now this, this really shocked Marshal. “Wait really? You? Living on an island?” Marshal asked in a tone that he hadn’t quite meant. “Pff, what’s so strange about that Marshy? I’m not THAT high maintenance you know”. Hmm, so Raymond was living on an island now. ”How come I’ve never heard of this move of yours?” Marshal looked at him, quirking an eyebrow. “You never asked” He simply stated as he took yet another sip of tea. “Well I’m asking now aren’t i? So tell me all about it?” The blonde critter had asked, moving in closer to his feline friend. Raymond let out a snort at Marshals eagerness. But nevertheless, he delivered.

And so, he told him about his island life, about the different residents, about the island activities, about the sunny days and about the rainy days, about the different friends he’d made, basically, he told Marshal about pretty much everything.

“And on Saturdays the one and only K.K. Slider visit us to have a small concert” By now, both of them had drunken up their tea. “What?! No way!” Marshal had said enthusiastically. Raymond let out a chuckle as he reassured him. “Oh! I almost forgot to tell you about our island representative! Their name is Y/N, they are such a doll, honestly. One time I left my stuff at another residents place and the next day they delivered it to me. Their such a dear, I think you two would get along just swimmingly” he said as he clasped his hands together. “Hmm? How come?” Marshal asked, looking up at Raymond puzzled. “Well, you both like fashion, and it shows, that’s for sure. You both are quite the small charmers, uhhh- oh! You both have good singing voices” This made Marshal very interested. “Oh really? I’ll have to visit sometime” Suddenly, Raymond’s eyes lit up, as if he got an idea. “I know! Why don’t you move to the island?” He said proudly, grabbing a hold of Marshals shoulders. “What?” Marshal stated in confusion, he couldn’t just...move to an island, could he? “Think about it Marsh! If you moved to the island, I wouldn’t have to take such long trips just to see you in person! And I could introduce you to Y/N and we could become the best trio!” By now, Raymond was rambling. But Marshal was thinking about it. It would be nice with a hand of scenery, plus being able to live next to his best friend was always good. And hey, who knows? Maybe he could come closer to this Y/N person. They did certainly sound interesting.

A couple of days later, Isabelle was happy to announce that a new friend was moving onto the island. And that new friend was Marshal. The first to greet him as he stepped off the plane was of course Raymond, who helped him unpack and get ready as friends do. But soon enough as Raymond was showing Marshal around the island they had heard footsteps coming closer to them. Without warning, Raymond was tackled into a hug. “Raymond! I missed you!” Shouted the person clinging onto him. Both of them laughed as the other let go of him.

“Oh! Y/N! There’s someone I want you to meet” The cat said as he gestured to the smaller animal. Y/N smiled as they held out their hand with a playful smile on their lips. “Greetings! The names Y/N” Marshal took a hold of their hand and shook it, giving them a gentle smile. “Marshal” he simply stated. “So, you’re the new resident? It’s good to have you on the island!” Y/N said as they looked over at Raymond. “So, Raymond. I wanted to ask you if I could boro-“ by now all that they were saying had become an absolute blur in Marshals mind. Y/N...they...they were perfect. Never in his life had he seen someone quite like them. They were so elegant, yet, they looked so laid back. Their eyes shined like two sparkly diamonds. Their hair, it looked so soft, he just wanted to touch it, to feel how soft it would be. He wanted to feel their skin brace against his fur. He didn’t know what was up with him, but he wanted to feel more of this feeling.

“Marshal? Hello? Earth to Marshal? This is Raymond speaking” Marshals thoughts were interrupted by a grey paw waiving in front of his face, taking him back into reality. “O-Oh! Umm sorry, I uh got lost in my own little world there...” Y/N let out a laugh at this, making Marshals cheeks get ever redder than usual. Once Raymond noticed this he got a wide smirk started growing on his lips. “Oh! I just remembered! I really gotta go do something...important! Y/N, since your here could you show Marshal across the island?” Raymond said, scratching the back of his neck while giving a nervous smile. Marshal looked at him and glared slightly, that bastard! “Yeah sure! Id be happy to” Y/N said, turning to Marshal and giving him a reassuring smile. “Okay, thanks! Gotta go!” And so, Raymond dashed off, leaving Marshal alone with Y/N. “So, uh...shall we go?”

And so, Y/N showed Marshal around the island. They showed him the different stores, the plaza, the beaches, they even showed him all the residents houses. “Aaaaand over here we have my house! In all it’s glory!” They said and pointed towards their house. It was beautiful. And fully upgraded to. Marshal was in complete and utter awe. “It looks very nice Sulky” He said, seeing the smile form on their lips made him feel proud. “Thanks, actually most of the island constitutions are made by me!” Y/N said, this was Marshals opportunity. “Oh really? That explains why they look so good” as he said this, he flashed a toothy grin. This caught Y/N off guard and Marshal could see the small tint of pink brush their cheeks. “Heh, thanks”

After the island tour, Y/N and Marshal decided to hang out for a while. They talked about a lot of things, but mainly it was Marshal talking about himself. At one point, he had brought up his amazing singing voice. To which Y/N responded with interest. “Oh really? What’s your favorite song?” They had asked, tilting their head. “K.K. Swing, it’s so good. And you?” He had returned the question, keeping his voice and posture calm. But on the inside, he was shaking in anticipation. What was your favorite song? “Well, I guess it’s kinda cliche but I really like Bubblegum K.K., but I also love a lot of his other songs as well” Y/N answered, giving him a sheepish smile. Oh. My. God. Not only were you incredibly good looking, but you had great taste in music!

“Hey I have an idea! Why don’t you sing a little? Raymond told me you had a great singing voice so I’d love to hear it” He said. Please except, please except, pleASE EXCEPT-

“Ooo, id love to. But I’m kinda hoarse at the moment. But hey, once I’m feeling better, you’ll be the first person I’m gonna go to alright?” As Y/N said this, Marshal could feel his claws digging into his arm, his eye twitch slightly. Damn it! He screwed up! But before he could think of anything else he felt you grab a hold of his arms. “Hey, it’s getting a bit late and I’m gonna go home now, but let’s see each other later alright? Bye Marshal!” Y/N said as they ran off. Well, better luck next time. They’ll see, in a short time. He’d have them. He’s sure of it.

“You seem to really like them huh amigo?” A certain office cat told Marshal. By now it had been a couple of weeks since the move. Marshal had told Raymond about his feelings for Y/N. And now they were talking about it. “What can I say Ray, their just so amazing, everything about them makes me wanna scream at the top of my lungs!” Marshals tail started to wiggle slightly as the thought of you entered his mind. “I see, well i hate to break it to ya Marshy but your not the only one who seems to want that human” Raymond said, going into Marshals kitchen to make a cup of coffee. Marshals eyes went wide as he heard this, did...did Raymond? “Calm down, it’s not me. I’ve seen the way you look at her, I would never try to break that up. It’s really quite adorable to be frank. No, the person that seems to have the hots for our fellow island rep isn’t even someone that lives on the island” huh? What was this? Who would it be if it wasn’t a resident. “The name of the person is Jolly Redd. He’s been coming too our beach and has been selling fake art. But the thing is, for whatever reason he always give Y/N the real art, for free nonetheless. It was very strange until I realized that he was probably in love with them. But what do I know, it’s just a guess. But it might be worth considering since I heard he’s coming to the island tomorrow” Raymond picked up his coffee cup and sat down beside Marshal, handing him a second cup. “Hmm, weird tell me more” He had said intrigued yet also angered. How dare someone try to steal his Y/N away from him. Hearing this, Raymond furrowed his eyebrows slightly and gave an unsure look around. “Well...oh but i really shouldn’t tell you this...but here’s the thing-“

The next morning you were walking around the island, greeting different people when all of a sudden Marshal came running up to you. You assumed that he wanted to teach you a new reaction but to your dismay you saw that he had a look of worry on his face. “Y/N, there’s something I need to tell you about! A-and it’s pretty urgent” Marshal has said, grabbing a hold of your hand. “Oh? Can it wait just a second Marshal? I have to go visit Redd down by the-“ “NO!” You were quickly silenced by Marshals sudden outburst, an outburst even he seemed surprised of. “I mean...this is about...Redd...” now this, this made you stop dead in your tracks. “Huh? What about him?” You asked, wondering what this was about. What about Redd made this so urgent. “Well, do you know why Nook hated Redd so bad?” He had said, this made a bunch of bricks form in your stomach. You did know that Tom hated Redd but he never wanted to tell you why, to you, Redd had always seemed so nice. So you didn’t understand what the big deal was. “They used to be businesspartners. Not only that but they were also friends. Good friends. However, Redd would later show Tom what their friendship meant” Ge said in a sad yet serious tone. “What do you mean by that?” You said, feeling a knot in your throat. “Well, Redd scammed Tom out of all his bells and abandoned him” As he said this you felt a gasp leave your mouth. You thought you knew Redd. although you had to be honest with yourself, this didn’t sound to out of reach for him to do. You a had always been very uncertain about Redd and one thing that would make you upset is how he sold fake art to your fellow islanders. “I...I see. I was gonna visit him but...if he could do such a think to Tom when they were friends...maybe he will try to scam me as well” you said as you started to fidget with your hands. “I was gonna head over to Brewster if you’d like to come with? Maybe that would take Redd off your mind” Marshal offered.

And so the two of you went to Brewster. you were talking, well, it was mostly Marshal talking about himself and you listening but it was still a conversation. “Hey Marshal? I’m glad you told me about Redd. I don’t feel comfortable buying stock from him if he scammed Tom. I can’t support someone who would do that to my friend” You said as you took a sip from your coffee. “Oh, no worries sulky. I’m always happy to help” Marshal said with a happy and satisfied grin.

Little did you know that he was overjoyed at the moment. He had successfully made you break off your relationship with Redd. Now you could be his! He’d have to wait of course. But he is willing to do so. After all, if someone else tried to take you, he could always tell you what a horrible person they were. Yes, that’s how he’d do it. Only he could have you, he was the only one who deserved you. You had awoken something new in him. Because for the first time in his life, he felt like someone was equal to him. Maybe even better than him! Every time he saw you he felt so soft and happy. And he wanted to explore this feeling. He wanted to go on fancy dates with you, he wanted to sing with you, he wanted to hold hands with you, wake up next to you in the morning and the last face he saw before he went to sleep. He wanted to have you. Scratch that. He NEEDED to have you.

Ikari

Similar deal as Poke, but not as prevalent. The ship is okay! I used it in AMVs years ago (it was really popular for editing, maybe still is??)

But the popularity is also a bit odd to me. I think fans full-heartedly expected Ikari to be the next ‘guy and girl who bicker all the time’ ship after Dawn and Paul’s short first conversation, I guess following Poke and Contest. And they just...kept those expections up and going, despite what the anime did. It’s surprising and kinda admirable in hindsight how much fans pushed for Ikari and created content for it even if it was really minor in the actual series. 

I get a bit sad over how it managed to overshadow other pairings (Coma, Appeal, Penguin, maybe even Pearl to a lesser extent) in the circles I hung around in. I also remember a lot of ‘Bella and Edward’ dynamic content for it too, since that was popular at a similar time and so those portrayals were a little......hmmm lol

Still has some good art and stuff! But like with Poke, I don’t get into the fandom side of it very much lol

Love me some Drew rare pairs mmmmm

Although I still have some slight, slight hesitation about Belle because it used to be a Hated Pairing many years ago. That was when I was on Youtube and the only time I saw Belle stuff was it being used as a way to keep Drew away from May, which I didn’t like then lol

But now? Pff, I’ll take it!! I usually just don’t talk about it much myself because I’m not super familiar with Dawn. So thinking about the dynamic they’d have or headcanons and stuff is a bit more difficult. :’)

Shut Up John- 

Really tired that the only time people talk to me about my characters is when they want to do sexual things to them... 

Is that all I am, a folder of art to their fantasies? I just got out of a difficult period of time in my life, I had to endure a sudden move , that was very taxing and emotionally draining on me, not only that but i freaking stagnated because I wasn’t around my computer for a LONG time. I was doing really fun comics too , animated and fully in color... but the moment i get back I get bombarded by sexual questions about my characters. This isn’t why I got into art...  I want to tell stories, i want to share those stories. But everyone kind of left me to my own devices and when I came back from that move , nobody gave a single fuck, it’s like “whatever that synduo guy? pff he isnt posting regularly i bet nothing is going on his end”  I made many posts about my move, and how i’d be delayed, but its like all my friends stopped talking to me and vanished to who the fuck knows where. I tried my best to keep in contact, but now its just me and my own ability to not give up. Yes I know, “why don’t you draw for yourself”, which I am, but it is nice to have some friends along way to talk to you about your characters... not just a bunch of perverts who want to only talk about my character’s genitalia. I’ll shut the fuck up, sorry, i’m really REALLY salty, i feel like i’m just a printer here and how i should just print out the pretty picture... because i’m just talking to myself , i’m not really looking for pity either, i just feel completely used... Things were better when i talked less... at least then people got art out of me and promptly fucked off because it was expected i give shit...  I wont give up, even though I feel like it sometimes... Sorry for my rant , but hey you did click on it, so thanks. I just feel like total garbage...
