“Can I answer the phone, please?” A short woman who sat at the kitchen table, resting her head on her hand, asked calmly. 

“If he really cares, he will call again.” The pink-haired man replied, refilling the pills in the bottle with the ones he had hidden in the bathroom cabinet, despite his assurance that they were not there. 

“This is the fourth time he's called. He also sent some messages.” The woman sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. 

“Nah. It's nice to see him struggling to connect with you, darling. He'll be fine. At most he will gain gray hair.” 

“Sanzu...” 

*bzzt, bzzt, bzzt* 

*bzzt, bzzt, bzzt*

“I think I'll answer the phone myself.” Haruchiyo smiled. “I wonder how he would react to hearing my voice instead of yours, Rosie.” 

“Don't do that…” You sighed, sipping your coffee calmly. 

“No, no. That would be good. I would also play out a scene that we failed to find his girlfriend..." 

“Sanzu, please.” Rosie held out her hand. “I know how you feel about Takeomi, but please forgive him today.” 

The man looked at her for a moment, then grimaced slightly and handed her the phone that was ringing again. She took it, stood up from her chair and leaned over Sanzu, leaving one kiss on the top of his head. 

"Thank you." She left the kitchen and all you heard were snippets of conversation between the woman and Bonten's advisor, Takeomi Akashi. 

“I don't know what will be safer. Leave her here or send her back to Takeomi and the others.” You said calmly, sipping your coffee. 

“I would say leave it here. You have monitoring installed and you live alone. Hardly anyone knows your private address, so Yuji probably won't send any spy here.” Sanzu replied. “You know I wouldn't have a problem locking her up here with four triggers. Even if she had to spend all that time in the basement on a thin mattress.” 

You nodded, watching the man's every move. He seemed calm, almost happy about something, and you nudged his ankle gently with your foot. His bright eyes lifted to your face and you saw the corners of his mouth twitch upwards. 

"What?" 

“You know what.” You moved the chair you were sitting in to be closer to the pink-haired man and cast a quick glance towards the entrance to the kitchen. “Do you think this will work?” 

“You mean Rosie and Takeomi?” 

You nodded and Sanzu shrugged. “She's not stupid. She knows what he's doing." 

“I think she'll be safer here too, but I know Rosie won't let herself be held prisoner anywhere.” 

“In the hideout she sits there all day long and doesn't whine.” 

“She treats it like a job.” You explained, leaning back in your chair. 

“Then pay her and let her stay here.” Sanzu gave you a brief glance. “I know she's a prostitute, but her ass can rest a little longer, right?” 

“I know what some people think about working in the sex industry, but it's not as easy money as it seems. And Rosie doesn't like easy money.” 

Sanzu raised one eyebrow and shrugged. “There are two of us. If she doesn't like something, she can serve us, even symbolically.” 

“You'd like that, wouldn't you?” You smiled and drank the rest of your coffee, feeling the man's expectant gaze on you. “Bang Rosie, just to raise Takeomi's blood pressure.” 

Sanzu kicked you under the table and you winced slightly as you felt the throbbing pain in your ankle. He leaned towards you and spoke softly, smiling sweetly, almost innocently. 

“It wouldn't be the first time, but this girl hasn't done anything wrong to me, she treats me normally and I have no reason to hurt her. At least for now." 

You laughed softly, knowing exactly what he was talking about, and Sanzu echoed you. You wanted to reach for his hand, but at the same moment Rosie came back to the kitchen and looked at you, slightly surprised. 

“Y/n, is it possible for you to let me stay here for the night until we sort out the problem that your stepbrother is causing us all?” 

"Naturally. The guest room is empty.” You answered truthfully and lifted yourself slightly from your chair to stand up. 

“No, no. Stay.” The woman extended her hand towards you, telling you to sit back down. “Can I borrow some clothes from you?” 

“Serve yourself. There are spare toothbrushes in the bathroom.” 

“Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.” 

“Yuji is responsible for this, not you. Do not worry." You smiled softly. “I care about your safety.” 

Rosie looked at you warmly before her eyes briefly landed on Sanzu sitting next to you and she nodded slightly before leaving the kitchen again. You listened for her footsteps on the stairs and after a while there was silence. Feeling a slight shiver of excitement, you grabbed Haruchiyo's free hand and squeezed it lightly. 

"What about you?" The surprised man asked, looking at you like you were crazy. 

“I'm just glad we were able to find Rosie faster than Yuji.” 

“Oh…” 

“I will contact Tsuyoshi again tomorrow to arrange a meeting with him about this bastard if possible. I'll still have to catch up with Hanma and Kisaki, but I have a feeling everything will turn out fine." 

Sanzu's fingers tightened slightly on yours, reassuring you, and you felt the need to kiss him. 

You leaned over the table and... 

“No.” 

"What?" You asked, surprised to see the pink-haired man's unimpressed expression. “What do you mean no?” 

“I mean no.” 

“I don't accept this answer.” You grumbled, rising from your chair and pulling him towards you by the hand you still held in yours. He didn't protest and your lips met in a kiss. 

“Y/n…” Kiss. “Y/n…” Kiss. “Wait…” Kiss. Kiss. “Hmm…” Kiss. “Stop, that's enough.” You pulled away to look into his eyes. “Y/n, give yourself a break. You have a guest.” 

“You haven't been bothered by the company so far…” 

“When we're in a nightclub, it's completely different than now.” Sanzu blushed slightly, frowning. “You know it well. Loud music and noise generated by people drowns everything out. Plus alcohol, drugs... Anonymity..." 

"Really?" You let go of his hand and grabbed your empty cup, taking it to the sink to wash it. "So be it. I do not want to argue." 

“L/n…” Haruchiyo sighed and after a while you felt the warmth coming from his body on your back. “You know exactly what I mean. We are now a couple and we have agreed to keep it a secret for now.” 

"I know. That's why I don't want to argue." You put the washed mug on the dryer and wiped your hands on a cloth. 

“Baby…” His strong arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer to him. You felt his heartbeat against your back and you closed your eyes for a moment, feeling his breath on your neck. 

You stroked his hands, enjoying his affectionate gesture and you began to wonder if you two had only gotten closer because all this shit had spilled out. You didn't want your blossoming relationship to end too soon... 

“You are a pawn in Bonten. Maybe a little more, due to the close cooperation with me...” He spoke quietly in a calm voice, still lightly burying his face in your shoulder. “You're basically a nobody in the organization, but now everything revolves around you. Believe me when I tell you, we are all confused about this. Mikey says to keep an eye on you...” You stiffened slightly at his words, but Sanzu's hands tightened on your body. “You were more important to me from the very beginning.” 

"Meaning?" 

“You have been and are loyal to me from the very beginning, just as you said. All you had to do was walk from Valhalla to Toman and you almost started crawling at my feet.” 

“Sanzu…” 

“Mucho often asked me about our friendship.” He confessed suddenly and moved his hands to your sides, rubbing your flesh gently. “He wanted to test your loyalty more than once, that's why he beat you so often.” 

“I wasn't complaining.” You shrugged and looked at Sanzu over your shoulder. “It only made me stronger.” 

“Even when he told you to prove yourself by giving you fewer people to do a bigger job?” He asked, astonished. 

“Especially then.” You turned to face him, and your hands began to roam his back. “Then I could prove myself and attract your attention even more.” 

“You've done this before. Fuck, if only you could see the approval in that traitor's eyes.” 

“Hmm…” You gently pulled his head so he could tuck it into your shoulder and kissed the side of his head. “Remember that there is no evil that does not come to good, Haru.” 

"What do you mean?" He asked, cuddling up to you. 

“He taught us a lot, but his betrayal allowed me to stand by your side.” 

Sanzu pulled away from you and looked deep into your eyes. “This has happened before.” 

“But he was still around.” 

The man's bright eyes moved over your face in thought, and after a short moment, a smile appeared on his lips. He shook his head slightly and a wave of short laughter shook his body. 

"You are horrible. Did you use his betrayal to get closer to me?” 

"Horrible? Why horrible?” You blinked, feigning innocence. “I owe a lot to Mucho, but it was Toman that I liked the most. Mikey is a good leader.” You sighed quietly. “Yes, I respected Izana, but I always had Manjiro Sano in the back of my mind.” 

“But not in the heart.” He noted slightly coldly and you looked into his dilated pupils again. 

“Don't say that, Haruchiyo. You know very well that he was in my heart too and is still there. It's not my fault that you took up more space in it." 

"Me? What about Emiko? She was number one there for a while.” 

“And that was the mistake my mother tried to warn me about. Never mind…” You kissed his cheek. “Let's not dwell on this anymore, please. I won't leave your side. Until death do us part.” 

“Don't even say that.” His eyes widened and fear flashed in them. “Don't tempt fate, Y/n.” 

“If I ever die, it will be at your hands. Even if you had to cut me up and skin me.” You continued and Sanzu struggled once in your arms. His breathing quickened slightly, and you moved your nose to his neck, just below his ear, inhaling his scent gently. His lingering perfume continued to gently draw you into the darkness and calm you down at the same time. “Even if you have to torture me for hours... If Mikey gives you the order to kill me... I want you to put your heart into it, Sanzu. Promise me." 

“Y/n. That's asking a bit too much, don't you think?" 

“No. Promise me that, please.” 

The pink-haired man was silent for a long moment, a kaleidoscope of emotions flashing in his eyes before they turned cold, and his handsome face turned into an impassive mask. 

“Maybe I should do it with a smile on my face?” He snorted disdainfully and you felt his fingers tighten on the shirt on your back. 

“You can even sing for me.” 

“Then they'll think I'm a complete fuck up.” 

“They don't think you're like that?” You feigned surprise. “You've got your reputation to uphold, honey.” 

“One more word and I will strangle you.” He grumbled and you smiled, hugging the man tighter. 

"Promise me." 

“I can promise you that I will do everything I can to make sure you don't let Mikey down.” 

You weren't expecting these words and you pulled away from your lover to look him in the face again. Her expression was fierce, and you knew the man wasn't bluffing. 

“Sanzu…” 

"The only person I will torture and skin is Yuji L/n." He poked you hard in the chest. “Not you…” He hesitated for a moment. 

“Unless I deserve it.” You said it for him, smiling slightly when you saw that Haruchiyo was confused. 

"End of discussion." 

He pushed you away slightly and quickly left the kitchen, going up the stairs to the upper floor. You involuntarily looked at the table where the three of you were sitting just a few minutes ago and noticed that Sanzu had left his drugs in plain sight. You walked over to the piece of furniture and took the bottle in your hand, looking at the small pills against the light, and suddenly you heard quick footsteps on the stairs. 

You didn't have time to turn your head before a man's hand tightened on the bottle and took it from you. 

"Mine." Haruchiyo grumbled and headed back upstairs, leaving you alone in the kitchen once again. 

“I'm yours too, take me with you.” You said quietly, turning off the light in the room and following the man. 

You stopped in front of the guest room door and knocked softly, hearing movement inside. After a short while, you heard the invitation and entered the room. 

A petite woman in a much too large, pale blue T-shirt sat on the bed. Her long blonde hair was tied in a loose bun, with single, wavy locks slipping out from under it. 

“Hey, sorry if I'm disturbing you.” You said as you walked over to the bed and sat on the edge. “We fucked up your entire plan for tonight, didn't we?” 

“It doesn't matter. Takeomi understands.” She smiled gently and her small hand with an elegant, fresh manicure rested on one of yours. You weren't as tall as Ran Haitani, but the difference in the size of your hand and Rosie's was adorably disarming. “I know you're doing this for my safety, which on the other hand is really ridiculous.” 

“Ridiculous? Why do you think so?" You frowned and looked carefully at her face. 

"I am a prostitute. Only a sex worker who is owned by Bonten. I am nobody." 

“You are my friend and an excellent source of information that often comes in handy in solving some cases involving the syndicate. Girls respect you and listen to you. You're not just some prostitute, Rosie." You clasped your other hand around hers and leaned forward slightly. “You are important and don't try to tell yourself something completely different.” 

The woman pursed her lips and looked away for a moment. “I didn't let you know that I contacted the detective about the search for your child.” 

“You were supposed to do it when you found out something.” You shrugged and the woman looked at you apologetically, slightly confusing you. 

“I didn't do that either.” 

"All right." You patted the back of her hand with your finger. “Have you contacted Tsuyoshi L/n?” 

"Yes. I knew he was your uncle and..." 

“Did he tell you to keep quiet about this?” 

"Yes. Sorry. I wanted to tell you in person the next time we meet.” The corners of her tempting lips twitched slightly, and she shook her head slightly. “Y/n, I couldn't oppose him. He's really good at his job and he found too much on me for me not to listen to him.” 

"I see." You laughed quietly. "That's okay. He contacted me himself and I know where Yuuta is.” 

The woman sighed with obvious relief and a sincere smile appeared on her face, which caused a few small wrinkles to appear near her eyes. She looked lovely. 

“This is wonderful news. When do you start considering adoption?” 

“I won't.” You replied calmly and the smile disappeared from her face. 

"Pardon? Why? What happened, Y/n?” 

“My uncle was already in the process of adopting Yuuta when you approached him. He found out about the child earlier and decided with his wife that the boy would stay in the family, where he belonged. 

“His place is with you, Y/n.” 

“I lead a lifestyle that is too risky for him to be safe with me. I have seen him, and I know he will be safe with them.” 

Her other hand gently caressed your cheek comfortingly and you began to feel more and more at peace. You didn't even realize how much you missed Rosie's closeness these few days. 

“How is the boy doing after all he has been through?” 

“He seems to be recovering. He has a strong mind, which surprised me, and…” You hesitated for a moment. “It's quite disturbing, you know? If this is really how his brain works, what will happen next?” 

"What do you mean?" 

“If he ever gets into a fight or causes an accident... Will it have any effect on him? Will he just get over it as if nothing happened at all?” Your eyes wandered around the walls of the room for a moment. “What if Yuuta kills someone someday?” 

“The child goes to therapy, maybe this is something that helps him?” The woman grabbed your face and forced you to look into her eyes. “Y/n, honey. Don't worry too much because it will exhaust you. Your son is in good hands, and he is safe." 

“I will be calmer when I find Yuji and kill him.” 

"Do not say that..." 

"That's the truth. This son of a bitch is a threat to all of us. To all those who are important to me.” 

“Y/n…” 

“Rosie, please.” You sighed quietly and looked down. “If only I still had any photo of my brother... Maybe you could recognize him. I don't even remember what he looked like specifically." 

“What about your uncle?” 

“I will have to ask him for another meeting about this. In a casual conversation, he only mentioned that he would prefer Yuji to be caught, but he would understand… He would understand if I had to kill him.” 

“Do you think he still loves his nephew?” 

“L/ns love all their family members...” 

"And you? Do you love your brother, Y/n?” Rosie asked quietly and you looked back into her green eyes. 

“I... I don't even really remember him. All I know is that he had dark hair and dark eyes, but that won't help. Almost everyone here looks like that..." 

"That's true." Her fingers caressed your face again. “Did you erase him from your memory because of Mai?” 

You opened your mouth to answer her and closed it again. Is this what it is? Did you choose to forget Yuji because he hurt Mai? 

“I…I thought it was because he hurt me…” You said quietly. 

“One does not exclude the other. Her harm had a major impact on you.” She moved closer to you and her slim arms wrapped around yours. You leaned in, giving in to her, and she hugged you. The warmth and scent of her body mixed with the bath oil she must have used soothed you. “Just like you preferred to forget your father who hurt your mother.” 

“Yeah… About that…” You muttered quietly and shrugged slightly. "I was wrong." 

"What?" Her hand ran through your hair once. 

“My uncle explained to me that it was not my father who abused my mother. Yuji did it. Not only that…” You pulled away from your friend and looked into her eyes again. “He was the one who killed her... Just like he killed dad.” 

“Can you repeat that because I don't think I necessarily understood what you said, Y/n.” 

“Yuji beat my mother because he hated her for marrying our father. He saw Mai as a potential future wife... And the day before my mother died, he shot our father, who died in the hospital.” 

Rosie's face was priceless. There was such disbelief on her beautiful face that it would be enough to share it with several people. Her hands slid from your arms to her thighs, and her green eyes focused on one spot. 

“Are you telling me that everything… What you judged your father for, was your brother responsible?” 

“Yes, more or less like that.” 

“I know a lot of people whose families were twisted.” She said after a short while. “But yours turns out to be the most twisted one.” 

"Yes? What about the families who sold their daughters to brothels, even without high debts, or because their daughters were burdensome to them?” You laughed, feeling slightly embarrassed. 

“Okay, I take back what I said, but only a little bit.” 

You shrugged and kissed her on the cheek, to which she responded with a short giggle. 

“How are things going with Sanzu?” 

"It's good. Even very good.” You replied and gently cupped her small face in both hands. “As I told you on the way, I got hit in the head and he took care of me.” 

“It's very nice of him. I'm glad he still has something of a human in him." 

“Why wouldn't he?” You kissed her gently on the lips and the woman smiled slightly. 

“He stayed overnight, right?” 

"Yes." You kissed her again and stroked her cheeks with your thumbs. 

“The love of your life is right next to you and you are kissing me? You are terrible, Y/n.” She joked and you winced slightly. 

“You're right, but I just missed you. That's all." You tried to justify yourself and let go of her face. "I'll go now. Rest.” 

You got out of bed and as you headed for the door, you heard Rosie's voice again. “Promise me you'll take care of yourself, Y/n.” 

"I'll do my best." 

“Y/n…” 

“Sweet dreams, Rosie. See you tomorrow." You said, closing the door to the guest room behind you and heading towards your bedroom.

I really feel you & anon about KenDraws - when the first allegations about poor workplace treatment came out I thought maybe it was a case of poor management over malicious mismanagement; that a new indie studio had hired a lot of people out of college and not supported them properly or set unrealistic deadlines and failed to account for the fact that people have to work multiple jobs to support themselves (though the sharing of Erin's medical info always disgusted me and there's no way anyone can 'two sides' that imo) - i.e. it was stuff they could learn from and get better about, but for me KenDraws' account was the straw that broke the camel's back.

My jaw was on the floor learning KenDraws was the one who suggested Alastor stay at the hotel for his own entertainment, because that's part of the inciting incident and setup of the whole show. It's the kind of idea and dynamic that you'd expect the creator to come up with and come up with first, and be thought out as part of the story going forwards.

And to credit such an integral part of the show, plus several jokes, as 'additional writing'??? That is not additional writing, that is concept writing and script writing. It really made me mad to see how much of a struggle it was to get even that bare minimum of credit when Viv dropped so many ideas and lines that weren't her idea into the final pilot and covered it up with 'that was early draft stuff/we changed things around'. Reading the Discord logs it's blatantly not that, and if I can get ad hominem for a second there's a really maddening 'I'm too lazy and untalented to come up with this on my own, please help me' wheedling tone in Viv's messages to Ken - the whole 'I'm good at this and not that' thing especially. If you aren't good at it then either focus the pilot around your supposed strengths or credit your co-writers properly! Anyone whose had someone lazy or untalented sponge off them knows how uncomfortable and annoying it is to be stuck with someone like Viv as a boss. It feels like the main reason Brandon gets to be credited as a writer is because he's already a 'name' but anyone Viv considers beneath her it's free game to steal their ideas and fail to credit them when they provide her massive amounts of help because she knows her fandom will merrily throw them under the bus with a minimum amount of prompting from her, and sometimes none at all.

It's why I'm so glad to see Ashley and Michael thrive outside her shadow. I've seen mixed opinions on Faustisse and I'm not up to date with that, but I did see the screenshots about the issues she had getting paid and assuming that's Viv she's talking about, no one deserves to be exploited like that.

Viv mistreats the talent, they go elsewhere - and they don't stop being better than Viv at the thing she's failing so hard at rn. I'm so glad to see the rest of the indie animation scene supporting each other so much: I think this is the sense of community people wished for when Helluva started and why the biggest scandal to hit the fandom felt like it was when the pilot VAs got dropped so unceremoniously. It's just partly a community of people who got burned working for Viv who now have a perfect mental model of what they don't want in their working lives so they can make something better. I hope all the best for the people she's hurt & used

just finished reading fist of the north star, and now i know why most adaptions pretend the series ends after raoh's defeated

because it probably should have!

i enjoyed the celestial emperor and land of asura stuff a bit but, the series was really starting to retread old ground

kaioh just feels like "what if raoh was even eviler and stronger!!!!" he's literally raoh's secret older brother who was never mentioned ever for some reason

retconning secret family members seems to be how a lot of the series handles plot twists now that i think about it lmao

Lin was actually the secret twin of the celestial empress!!!! this never comes up again and effects nothing.

Kenshiro had a secret older brother who vowed to one day teach him that the secret to hokuto shinken is Respecting Women!!!!

hell even ein (who's whole deal is honestly a retread of rei now that i think about it) had a whole thing where he's introduced talking about how he does all this bounty hunting for a special lady in his life ;) ;) an then PLOT TWIST!!! HE DOESN'T MEAN HIS GIRLFRIEND HE MEANS HIS DAUGHTER!!! (which is a funny bit lmao)

god the series really falls apart with the final story arc though, i think the real reason most fist of the north star stuff never cover anything after the timeskip is because Kenshiro defeating Raoh and finally putting an end to the hokuto shinken succession crisis that was the undercurrent to basically everything after the first arc, and then riding off into the sunset with Yuria, was a WAY more satisfying ending than whatever the fuck was going on with the actual ending

Bat uses heretofore unmentioned Hokuto Shinken powers to erase Lin's memories because everyone in the god damn series thinks that now that kenshiro's wife is dead he needs to shack up with this one girl he met when she was like 9 for some reason, and then Kenshiro gets,, Struck by lightning????? and also loses his memory??????

so we've got a double amnesia plot going on and it's, just,

so fucking stupid

and then it tries to give Bat this whole subtext to his whole character about how he always looked up to kenshiro like he was an older brother, and it retcons in scenes that never happened to try and deepen that

and like i love Bat, he was a fun goofy comic relief character in the anime

but in the manga he's just kinda there,,,?

he lends SOME comic relief but aside from the one arc with jackal he's just kinda there in the background, failing to make much of an impression and just kinda fading into obscurity (same kinda deal with Lin) getting ditched by the story for more serious characters, only showing up for the fight against raoh because kenshiro wants someone to bear witness.

and then after the timeskip he does the whole hokuto army thing with Lin, he cries over Ein (which was a fun moment i'll admit)

and then the story ditches him as soon as the asura arc comes around, and then he just kinda shows up at the end of that to take lin away so ken doesn't have to deal with that weird contrived "pressure point that makes you fall in love with the first person you see" bullshit.

So we've got this comic relief character who for the latter half of the series has repeatedly threatened to become relevant and then backed off, which the series is trying to get me invested in during the 11th hour,

and this is all for, Lin's (clearly unrequited, like good lord) crush on Kenshiro,

a weird one sided nothing relationship that the series keeps trying to push as a thing that should happen, because the series is bad at using its female characters

and this is what it chooses to spend its final moments on???

and then the story just repeats the end of the asura arc and goes "no bat and lin should be together for some reason, gotta pair those spares"

throws in a whole flashback full of stuff that just straight up wasn't in the manga

i think the top left moment is actually something from the anime lmao (don't quote me on that i have memory issues)

so yeah the final arc is just, retconning a whole bunch of shit, trying to shovel in as much development as possible for these characters in the last fleeting moment of the series as possible, because they were the first 2 major characters we were introduced to i guess

then we get this whole fakeout death to close it out

but woooh kenshiro fixed his dying body by, using pressure points, i guess, so that whole death scene was just kinda for nothing, just jerking your chain a bit

just god it's so fucking stupid

it's sooo stupid

If you had the power to control one of the four elements, which one would it be and why? Water. I feel like water is as close as you can get to like controlling atoms itself — I can’t think of much it’s NOT in. Thus making it super interesting to do, because I feel like you can make shields of it, change the weather, all those sorts of things.

Think of one of your defining personality traits - which animal embodies it? I’m very loyal, but I’m pretty pragmatic too (i.e., just because someone I love thinks somethings a great idea, well sometimes love is telling someone they’re wrong — it’s in this way I am not loyal like a dog). Thus I’m gonna go with a Badger or a Bear. I had to look up animal tropes for this and it was a great read this morning.

Are there any fan theories that have stuck with you? Think of the infamous “Scooby and the gang are all actually high” The Johnny Bravo one is BRILLIANT!! A fan theory that never fails to make me laugh is that Frodo doesn’t even know Legolas’s name in Lord of the Rings.

Name a movie you watched or a book you read as a kid that you were totally not supposed to watch/read at that age. I read Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett quite young. It’s a good book! But the details of the sex scenes and assault scenes went over my head at the time because I didn’t understand how it all… worked.

Name a food or drink that you totally hated as a kid and now you really like. Mushrooms. Used to hate the texture. Now they’re in a ton of things I make.

How about one you still hate? Olives. I dont like super salty oily things that — are they a vegetable? Are they a bean? They’re green but they don’t fit into like “green flavored foods” and I don’t like martinis anyway — I like olive oil but the olive itself is not my fav.

What’s your least favourite chore? Vacuuming or laundry. Laundry I wouldn’t hate so much if I had an in unit washer, but vacuuming is just freaking annoying. And however long you think your vacuum cleaner is going to work perfectly fine, halve it — they seem to always have issues.

Do you have one that you actually enjoy? Washing dishes. It’s kind of therapeutic, and it’s a mindless task. I can think of other things or just pay attention to the warm water running over my hands.

Minky Momo ep 4

CONTEXT: I'm a big fan of Takeshi Shudo's writing. You prob know him from his work on episodes and movies in the early years of the Pokemon anime. He's my favorite author, though I won't be going into that here. This post is from me watching one of his other creations: Minky Momo. (Specifically ep 4, which he wrote from what I understand.) Originally this was a thread on twitter from March 18th 2022. (when I was sick.) I'm putting it here since I'm trying to fill my tumblr with stuff I find important.

I prob won't post my other first impressions, as those slowed down when I started feeling better. (I actually need to finish this series.) To be honest, this ep is something else, thus another reason why I wanna share it.

Also, this will be edited from its original form for anything I don't think need to be here in hindsight and spelling stuff.

Minky Momo ep 4 might be one of the most wild and maybe even sad eps Takeshi Shudo has written (to my knowledge.) Go watch, for real, I'm about to spoil it.

It's starts out fine. Momo's ma is threatening to divorce her dad, Momo DGAF about her grades, just normal shit for Shudo. Then we meet the character of the day, Ken. At first he's just some kid staring out the window during class. Momo is so curious about why he's looking out at the sky, she pokes him with a pencil getting them both in trouble (and failing their tests I think.) She keeps trying to hang out with him and he's all like "fuck off." (my words) For some reason another student knows that his dad is an archeologist and his ma "works late so he has to go home and watch the house after school."

Momo stalks him to his place and he's like fuck off. (again.) Like a week later his bird is sick and he comes into the vet Momo's earth "dad" runs and momo cures it. He asks her to, and I'm not joking to "see his room" tho not in THAT way I promise. Anyway, his house is full of ancient artifacts his dad "found" which includes a map of the fairy world Momo come from. (Honestly this is interesting stuff, I'ma skip it for pacing.) We get to the kids room and find out he's beyond "I'm feeding these crows because they're my only friends". His toys are his friends. Legit. Not making it up. This kid is so lonely that he's resorted to this shit.

Then to make his life worse, but actually in the end not, the one time Ken didn't watch the house his entire apartment catches on fire. He goes inside to save his bird and friends, a cop is like "fine, I'm not gonna go save you kid." and Ken is like an inch away from Death. Really. Ovi Momo tried to save him, but she wasn't gonna get to him in time, so she used her magic to make the toys come alive and (I think?) create a barrier around him until she could get to his room.

At the end of the episode he's like "I know they saved me and now they're from the dream world. Even if no one believes me" ( I can't remember what Momo's land is called rn sorry.) At least he's happy I guess. You know what's wild? This would be the episode most people would remember from the series. The poor abused child grappling with a slipping mental state due to isolation from his parents to protect their stolen property almost dies in a fire to save his imaginary friends. But instead, (unless there's something else I don't know about.) the truck-kun episode happened to be in the same series.

Sad dark plotlines mixed with the wildest of scenarios is one of the reasons I love Takeshi Shudo's work so much. This is peak his work. Damn, I don't even think Ken and Momo became friends. He's Fren exclusive to Mr. Peanut. (A lot of his friends seem to be from other IPs.) I won't forget Ken or this episode for a while.

THOUGHTS ON: BARBENHEIMER

Finally got the chance to see both (specifically, Barbie, Oppenheimer, and then Barbie again) and I'm glad I did! Watching them back-to-back was certainly an experience and I'm not even joking when I say they really made me think about life and all that it entails.

As someone who grew up on the old animated Barbie movies, I had a lot of fun watching the new film, especially when it came to all the doll jokes and references had me laughing more than once (Magic Earring Ken, anyone?). Kinda mad they didn't have any references to the animated movies though, or at least none that I'd noticed.

Speaking of Ken, wasn't sure about him being the villain at first, but I can see what they were trying to do and I thought it worked pretty well all things considered, that Kens have just as much of a right to live alongside the Barbies as the Barbies do them and not just in the shadows of each other. If this film is anti anything, I'd say it's anti-Patriarchy as well as anti-Matriarchy. Preachy, sure, but understandable. Really, I'm more annoyed with how this apparently went over so many people's heads even with how blatant it was; seriously, President Barbie even says the message of the film after the Kens fail, so how anyone could've misinterpreted it is beyond me! The only thing that comes to mind is when the Narrator says that the Kens will be treated just as well as women are treated in the real world, and to be fair, that statement alone can be interpreted in a lot of ways depending on certain factors, but I don't know, I feel like that should be a wake-up call more than anything.

Barbie herself was also really interesting, though throughout the film, I found myself wondering if she was meant to be the Original Barbie with an upgraded look or just a random Barbie who's basically just an amalgamation of all the others (like she says, she's what everyone else thinks of when they think of the doll). Either way, this certainly adds a whole new layer to the relationship between her and Ken because keep in mind, when the film says that Ken was created for Barbie, they mean it literally.

Going into a bit of history here, Ken Carson was created in response to the backlash Barbie was facing two years after her own creation for the horrific crime of... *checks notes* being single. Since then, Ken has had a few jobs of his own, but it's still nothing compared to Barbie's—this even becomes a joke in the Life in the Dreamhouse series, where the Ken in that series worships the ground Barbie walks on. Probably literally. This man didn't even get his own car until 2012! Then there was the whole seven-year break-up incident because Ken apparently didn't want to put a ring on it (yeah, Barbie has in-universe lore and it goes hard!) so keeping all this in mind, it's no wonder Ken seems to be as attached to Barbie as he is in the film, all while also struggling with his own identity as an individual.

Yes, I probably am looking too deep into a children's film about dolls coming into the real world. This is my life now.

The Mattel scenes were definitely one of my favorite things about the film, especially with how dedicated the CEO is when it comes to his job and how he genuinely wants what he believes is best for everyone, but my favorite part are definitely the scenes with Ruth, which absolutely had me crying! And hey, glad to see I was at least partially right! She made an appearance, just not in the scene I thought it was going to be (also, apparently the sweet old lady on the bench isn't even Barbara, it's costume designer Ann Roth).

Narrators also tend to be hit-or-miss for me, but I thought it worked really well in this film! I especially loved how self-aware the story is and how if you're going to try and make Barbie look ugly, Margot Robbie isn't the way to go. And the cutaway to Depressed Barbie? Hilarious, but now I low-key want that to be a thing lol! And just the world in general was super fun!

Honestly, if I had any complaints about the film, it would absolutely be the pacing. Sasha in particular seemed largely unnecessary and her turnaround to at least tolerating Barbie happened way too quickly, even if she did only want to help for her mom's sake. It would've been nice if the film had had at least one or two scenes where she realizes that while the Barbie brand has its issues that deserve to be addressed, it's also not as bad as what she'd originally thought it to be. And also, it would've been great to just see more of this world in general; after all, Barbie and Ken only spend time in LA for less than a day, and even then, it's only for a few hours at most.

Basically, I wish the film had been longer, but what we got was still great.

As for Oppenheimer, I never really have much to say about biopics, but I love history in general and am always fascinated when it comes to warfare and all of the ethical questions that come with it. This is also the first Nolan film I've actually watched, so I knew this was going to be an interesting time, at least. Let me start by saying that the special effects with the bomb dropping and tense silence afterwards were beautifully done and I thought the use of black-and-white for some scenes and color for others was a really nice touch too, as well as the fact that the film went beyond just WWII and that we get to see Oppenheimer deal with the guilt he'd faced afterwards. I also always forget that Einstein would've still been alive during the time most of the film takes place, so his appearance was certainly a surprise, but a pleasant one nonetheless. I was also wondering in what context the "I am become Death" line would come up, so the fact that the film actually addresses that it comes from Sanskrit rather than suggesting it originated from Oppenheimer himself was such a great detail! Overall, a great film about a very complicated man!

Despite his complaining, he actually thought Ken'ichi looked especially adorable with the stuffed animal that was almost as big as he was. Even more so than when the boy had first spotted it, and Hitoshi just had to get it for him. Whatever backlash his luck caused after winning it first try would be worth it. At least, that's what he thought until he saw the candle being knocked from its lantern toward the smaller one. Acting before he could even think, he pulled Ken out of the way, blocking him from the blaze with his own body. (Now it's your turn for angst.) -  ✩   「 @nickelsdrocs 」   ✩  

「 ☆ 」 This is Ken's first time at a Festival and he's already excited for the next one. And the next and the next... Part of him— the part that hasn't drowned its common sense in sugary drinks —fervently reminds himself that he doesn't KNOW if there will be a next one; let alone a string of them. He should put all his focus on this date visit ( which, to be fair, he IS ) and not get his hopes too high ( which, unfortunately, he is failing at ). There's no telling when the novelty of showing off for his fuck-toy turned... friend pet lover regular-toy, will wear off and Hitoshi might set his sights to more entertaining places. Although it's hard to think of anything being more entertaining than himself, Ken'ichi can't believe it won't happen.

Squeezing his giant plush as if his life depends on it, giddy smile buried into its soft form, he scoffs at Hitoshi's comment. Rolling his eyes, the playful brattiness doesn't hit quite as hard when paired with his flushed features or the sparkle within green hues. ❝ Well, it is more fun to cuddle with... and Pocket doesn't make smart-ass remarks either~ ❞ He teases, sticking his tongue out at Hitoshi to really drive the point home, his heart-shaped stud— a familiar blue one chosen for today instead of his usual multi-colored —twinkling in the light.

And then that light gets too close.

Abruptly yanked out of harm's way— a stark difference from always being thrust INTO it —Ken doesn't have time to process what's happening until it's already over. Fire taking hold of Hitoshi's clothes as if it has a personal vendetta against him ( from what Ken'ichi knows of the others luck, maybe it does ) Ken utters a panicked, ❝ Shit! ❞ before hastily trying to pat out the flames. Pocket dropped upon the ground out of harm's way, small but quick hands attempt to beat back the fire on their own; Ken paying no heed to the sting in his palms. A blessed moment of clarity, and a bit of luck in his outfit choice, makes Ken shuffle off his oversized jacket; stolen from Hitoshi as ❛ extra payment ❜ earlier in their relationship agreement.

Using it to aid in smothering the flames, he makes quick work of the rest. Adrenaline overwhelming his small form, fueled by confusion and fear and gut-wrenching guilt, he tries to steady his breathing. Scent of burnt fabric and flesh not helping the nausea in his knot-addled stomach, he spares a breath to look over Hitoshi to make sure he is still breathing ( of course he is, it was just a little.... fire ) before impulsively shoving the other man before he can think better of it. At least he has sense enough to avoid the singed areas, although Ken's reddened palms aren't happy about the contact, ❝ What the fuck?! Why did you DO that? ❞

Tears brimming in his eyes, there's little comfort in the fact they don't fall. ❝ What kind of idiot purposely lets themself get set on FIRE?? ❞ Never mind that, from Ken'ichi's anger, it's pretty clear he's the kind of idiot who would have preferred to get set ablaze instead. But that's a completely different situation. It wouldn't have mattered if it was him. But with Hitoshi— with his LUCK, it could have gone very differently if fate had decided to be crueler to both of them... 「 ☆ 」

▪︎Your friend would spot it first, and try to warn you as carefully as possible

▪︎but the little guy makes his way towards your shoes, and as soon as you feel a little nudge, well, you're paralyzed with fear, trying and failing to get any words out

▪︎now, when you see the towering form that is Ken Ryuguji, suddenly appear as he bends down to gently pick up the animal, you are stunned for a few reasons

▪︎the first being just how easily he had done that, as if the reptile in his hands wasn't so grossly terrifying

▪︎the second being, that this man was heavenly looking, even as he passed the snake to the employee, and scolded Mikey for not being careful

▪︎From then on, you happened to run into Draken fairly often, eventually growing to become friends

▪︎you wrote him a lot of your famous handwritten letters, often times sliding in some pressed flowers, or little stickers you found that reminded you of him

▪︎not that he ever let the others see these, and face their jokes, but he keeps every single letter in his top drawer, and he reads them whenever he feels down

Anime Update V3 6

Vinland Saga S2 - Ketil and his family's return to the farm was all that I could've dreaded it would be. Thorgil is rallying people up to fight and die to defend the farm from Canute's approaching forces, Leif still has not been able to meet with Thorfin, and Ketil, already not in the best of moods, completely snapped when he learned Arnheid had tried to escape the farm with her now dead ex-husband. I had to watch Ketil butalize a pregnant Arnheid in his impotent rage at her "betrayal", which as you could imagine was not pleasant, and now the unhinged yet emboldened Ketil is fully committed to killing any who dare try to take away all that belongs to him, meaning he is ready to lead all the soldiers and slaves at his farm into war against Canute! But I hope he doesn't even get to the front lines 'cause Einar had damn better fucking murder this piece of shit for what he did...

Hunter x Hunter - So I was recovering from my first ever case of Covid-19 for much of the last week and it might've effected what I thought I saw...did I really watch a fight between Leol and Morel where Leol was surfboarding on top of orange juice? I think they said it was water, but that's not what it looked like to me! The fight ends with Leol finally dead while outside Palm continues her undercover work at the creepy old perv's Don Corneo-esque setup, and Knov infiltrated the castle only to freak the fuck out and run away just from sensing the stronger Ants' sinister aura: I really think the experience drove the guy mad, and he didn't even have to fight anyone! And of course, Killua finally recovered and is back on his feet, but not alone since Ikalgo is willing to brave the world with him as his new friend, and that whole last scene and Ikalgo's thoughts really did touch me. Like, I was not going into this ready to feel things for this dynamic between a psychotic albino asassin kid and a scrawny, silly-looking Octopus Chimera Ant, it's a surprisingly wholesome development!

SHUFFLE! - Could not say much on this episode, as it was centered on Primula, easily my least favorite girl. I don't even dislike her per say, but her character is thus far very shallow and used for these painfully unfunny "lol, you're a pedo lolicon!" gags at Rin's expense, and from her set-up I am very skeptical, fearful even, that she's being set up to play the Ken Tennyson from Ben 10 Omnitrix role and essentially force Rin together with the girl she thinks needs to be his one true love. And what was even up with the plush cat business? Rin failed to get out of the claw machine the same brown plush cat that Primula already has? That one's ragged and worn out so he buys her a totally different yellow one? I wasn't following the thread.

KonoSuba - The whole episode was Kazuma and his party having to put up an actual fight against Verdia, which was both challenging but also as frequently hilarious as I'd expect. With Verdia being a headless knight, it figures that at some point his head would have to be taken and kicked around like a soccer ball: he was just asking for it! And since he's an undead fiend, Aqua gets to make the kill with her healing water spell. Kazuma and his party earn a reward, but have to use it to pay off the damages Aqua's flood caused to the town!

Symphogear XV - Following a government investigation closing things off for S.O.N.G, what's meant to be a day off leads to a bit of friction between Miku and Hibiki when Miku calls her girlfriend out on her inconsideration of Tsubasa's feelings. And then a Alca-Noise attack occurs nearby, leading to Millaarc tracking down Miku and Elfnein, having them kidnapped while also initiating the gory death of one of the traitorous government guys. In the next episode, Chris and Maria team up to fight Vanessa when she's on the move, cut short when a golden light shines from the newly reappeared Chateau du Triffages, from which a mysterious new foe seems to be emerging...

Eureka Seven - The episode "Helter Skelter" was easily the most intense one seen yet. Holland has Renton, Eureka, and the kids locked in the cooling cellar again but this time for their protection from what he knows is iminient: Ray and Charles infiltrate the Gekko, shut down the power, and go on a sniping mission. Ray manages to corner Talho just as she's retrieving the kids, and seeing Eureka with children who look to her as a mother is deeply triggering to her for some reason. Charles, meanwhile, gets his fight to the finish with Holland, who fatally shoots him during a moment of distraction. Credit to Charles, though, he goes out with one last "up your's" to Holland, shooting him in the leg before falling and breathing his last. Stupidly they let the captive Ray go look at her husband's dead body, and she triggers an explosive on it that allows her to make an escape out into the open sky. As Renton narrates that this was not the end of this ordeal, I decided to watch the next one, "Memeto Mori". From the title alone, you can guess what happens and oh God is the route to getting there unsettling as hell. Ray lost the ability to bear children years ago and Eureka is apparently to blame for why it happened. Having lost her husband and feeling she has nothing left to lose, the very depressed and completely unhinged Ray uses her Swan ship to assault the Gekko in hopes of killing everyone on board. She doesn't come even close to accomplishing that, but she does finish what Charles started and nearly kills Holland just as her ship's shot down with her getting maimed and burning to death in its explosion. And because the world hates Renton, he can't even mourn his one-time surrogate parents in peace before he's pulled into a blood donation to save the life of his abuser, who's the guy who killed them both! Damn, I knew the Beams' story wasn't going to end well but geezus, Dai Sato did not feel like pulling punches here. An utter tragedy.

He lifted almost and people were watching so we had to make sure it worked lifted it again all the way and it's Tommy F and he has a theory if he fails in front of people he has to try again and not fail. The other is he has to tell people and beat everybody and he's been doing it all his life just not telling you as many people in his mass media and huge armies are going against them and is counting on us to save the day or something. But you'll see who's going who's beating his defeating someone who is mentally handicapped and physically handicapped and doesn't have his faculty getting together and doesn't have support and he's doing it on purpose with a special number and it's an ugly business and that's what's going on. You wouldn't take much for him to defeat ken and he's planning on doing it rather soon says hes in the way all the time, when in fact Tommy f is a f**** and is jealous of Ken though our son is not gay and does not say anything like that or act that way in Ken's presence or not in Ken's presence or to him in any way or anyone for that matter but he's still jealous and he's doing it because of that now I'm tired of this animal dictating terms to us threatening a harassing us he's a whole Army that can take over the parallel and he's going to be dead shortly and we're going to protect Ken and Mac has thrown his hat in the ring too it's got to end somewhere and it's going to it's going to stop here and we see his face and it's ugly and who cares we're going after you you little s***

Sonic Colors (2010) Story Review

Disclaimer: I will be judging this game by the plot and writing, not the gameplay.

Introduction

Greetings, mortals! For today's review, we'll be looking at what I personally consider to be the beginning of the franchise's downfall in terms of writing and storytelling quality, Sonic Colors.

So now we've officially reached the point where the overall tone of the Sonic series went from "shonen anime" to "bad Saturday morning cartoon". This game marks the beginning of what is commonly referred to as the Meta Era, which is known for its butchered characterizations, continuity blunders, bizarre tonal shifts, self-deprecation, obnoxious/painfully unfunny attempts at humor, laughable/insincere attempts at drama, stiff character animations and lifeless cinematography and editing. The 2010's were unforgiving to franchises being rebooted into silly comedic cartoons for babies, which was an unfortunate trend that the Sonic franchise sadly fell victim to.

This is part of a series of reviews in which I’ll be going into slightly more detail about my thoughts on the main series Sonic game storylines, and why I think they're either well written and engaging, or an absolute trainwreck (or somewhere in-between). I’ll be giving my stance on the character portrayals, visuals, soundtracks, voice actors, and what themes/messages they had to offer. Keep in mind that these are just my own personal thoughts. Whether you agree or disagree, feel free to share your own thoughts and opinions!

Anyway, let us begin! ^^

Plot

Dr. Eggman has built a space amusement park made from the aliens known as the Wisps. Sonic and Tails go and investigate this new Eggman plot.

Characters

I don't know why they had to completely reboot the franchise to the point where it killed the characters. The new writers, Ken Pontac and Warren Graff, heavily flanderized Sonic, along with the rest of the cast, thus turning them into hollow shells of their former selves.

This was the beginning of Sonic's character decline in my opinion. The writers decided to focus on only one or a few of his character traits. 1) he's cocky, 2) he's a bit of an asshole, and 3) he just stands around telling shitty jokes that only five year olds would find funny.

Tails in this game was basically just a glorified info machine. He doesn't really contribute much to the story besides spouting exposition and translating the Wisps' language by using a translator device that's about as accurate as Google Translate. Seriously, you would think that Tails, one of the smartest characters in the franchise, would be able to build a translator device that works properly. Well actually, he could have, if the writers weren't using it as an excuse to tell bad jokes.

Eggman is a complete joke at this point. The Meta Era games seem to go out of their way to make him look as incompetent and foolish as possible. Hell, he even acknowledges that his plans always fail! Seriously, they don't even try to make him a threatening villain anymore. Say what you will about his portrayal in Unleashed, but at least he was somewhat threatening. Here, he's just a bad Saturday morning cartoon villain who I personally find impossible to take seriously.

Orbot and Cubot are basically just the games' equivalent of Scratch and Grounder from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. They're just shitty comic relief and nothing else, although I do find Orbot to be the less annoying one out of the two.

The Wisps in my opinion, are one of the cutest things in the Sonic franchise next to Chao, Death Leeches, and of course, Eclipse's Dark Arms from the Archie comics ^w^

Visuals

Well, I'll admit that the CGI cutscenes do look fantastic as always, and the in-game cutscenes look pretty good as well, despite being made on a lower budget than the previous games' cutscenes.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack in my opinion, is one of the few soundtracks from the Meta Era that stands out to me and is actually pretty good. The main theme, Reach For the Stars is really catchy and upbeat, and one of the few good vocal tracks from the Meta Era besides Infinite's theme from Forces. The ending theme, Speak With Your Heart kinda sounds like a generic pop song in my opinion. The Sonic Symphony rendition of it however, is an ABSOLUTE BANGER.

Voice Acting

This was the one of the first games, along with Sonic Free Riders, to use the Studiopolis voice cast, and I'll admit that they're actually quite talented, and they did give it their all, despite the subpar material that they're given. Roger Craig Smith actually does a pretty good job voicing Sonic, and Kate Higgins is probably the second best Tails voice next to Colleen O'Shaughnessey. Mike Pollock, the only voice actor from the previous cast who wasn't replaced, still does a great job voicing Eggman. Kirk Thornton and Wally Wingert also do a good job voicing Orbot and Cubot respectively, despite the latter being an irritating character in my opinion.

I'm going to sum up the Studiopolis voice cast in four words: good acting, terrible script.

Theme/Message

I honestly can't think of one. I guess the central theme of the story is nature vs technology, like the Genesis games? I don't know... The Meta Era games' writing quality is so shallow, that they all just feel entirely pointless to me.

Conclusion

While the plot itself is somewhat decent, the writing on the other hand, is absolutely atrocious. Hiring Pontac and Graff was the worst decision SEGA has ever made. They did this because the critics bashed Black Knight, Unleashed, Secret Rings, the Adventure series, ShTH and 06, and yet they praised trash like Sonic 4. While Sonic Heroes has a kid friendly story that still took itself seriously, Sonic Colors was super kid friendly and took NOTHING seriously. I'll give credit where it's due though, it's not the absolute worst that the Meta Era has to offer (that "honor" goes to Sonic Lost World). It had a decent enough premise, which could have been great with better execution, the ending was sweet and heartwarming, and it did some world building, adding the Wisps to the franchise. That's fine (in fact, I think the Wisps are adorable myself), but the story could have been more if it dropped the "laugh at myself" attitude (self aware comedy).

My final score:

It's about the 19-year-old Kaneki Ken who lives in Tokyo and is now, thanks to an organ transplantation and a miserable date, a half-ghoul. To learn how to take control of his now new powers and strength, he has to go through a lot of shit. It's a journey of him finding out where he belongs to and who he really is.

Great anime even greater Manga 10/10 would recommend!!

#2: Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood

Action, romance here and there, sadness and humor... What do you want more?? Fma Brotherhood has it all!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

FmaB is about the two brothers Edward and Alphonso Elric that lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of alchemy, they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails. Edward loses his left leg. Alphonso loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm. Both of them search for the Philosopher's stone to return themselves to their original bodies, even if that means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses their alchemy for the military.

FmaB is better than Fma so watch it!! Great ANIME!

#3: Zankyou no terror

My HEART OMG! This anime has amazing quality, a sad story, likable characters and a lot of intense moments!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

Nine and twelve, the two boys behind the masked figures of the sphinx, should not exist. Yet they stand strong in a world of deception and secrets while they make the city fall around them after their successful terrorist attacks, in hopes of burying their own tragic truth.

#4: Attack on Titan

This anime literally has no chill omg the ANIMATION!?! Sadness, gore, a lot of deaths, GREAT storyline, and badass characters!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous Walls that protect them from Titanic, gigantic humanoid creatures that appear out of nowhere, kill humans and disappear. The story centers around Eren Jaeger, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackermann, and their childhood friend Armin Arlett, whose lives are changed after the appearance of a Colossal Titan which destroys their hometown and kills of Eren's mother. The three friends join the Scout Regiment, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the Walls.

24/10 would recommend!!

Okay but this anime is gold and known everywhere!!

For those who don't know it:

The anime centers around Light Yagami, a high school student who finds a death note. He decides to rid the world of evil with the help of the Notebook. The book causes the death of anyone whose name is written in it and is passed on to Light by the Shinigami Ryuk after he becomes bored within the Shinigami world.

A classic anime for everyone who is a beginner! This is gold! Watch it!

#6: One Punch Man

Okay this anime is so funny but at the same time there is so much action, this is a must watch!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

The seemingly ordinary Saitama has a unique hobby: being a hero. To fulfill this childhood dream, he trained for three years,, and lost all his hair in the process. He now is incredibly powerful and no one is able to defeat him. In fact, he is so powerful that it takes one punch for him to win a battle,, that led to an unexpected problem- he is no longer able to enjoy the thrill and has become quite bored...

Really good anime! If anyone tells me Son Goku would win against him then bitch no??? Son Goku has no chance.

Gore, gore and even more gore. This anime is horror pure and has a great story!

For everyone who doesn't know it :

In 1972, a popular student in Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year. Twenty-six years later, 15-year-old Kouichi Sakakibara transfers into class 3-3. He finds himself drawn to the mysterious, eyepatch-wearing student Mei Misaki, however, the rest of the school treats her like she doesn't exist. He ignores every warning and gets closer to her. Kouichi, Mei, and their classmates soon are pulled into tragic events as they try to find out how to prevent everyone from dying- but unraveling the secrets and horror may just cost them the ultimate price.

Old anime style, but great story!

For everyone who doesn't know it:

Code Geass is set in an alternate universe where, during the French Revolution, the nobles of all Europe fled to American colonies and ruled there from that time on. The resulting country "Britannia", is the world's foremost superpower by the time of Code Geass. The main lead of Code Geass is Lelouch- a prince of Britannia. His goals: he wants to kill his father, the Emperor, for abandoning him and his crippled sister after the assassination of his mother. With his superpower "Geass" he can control everyone who looks him into his eyes. Power in hand, Lelouch starts his quest for revenge.

10/10 would recommend!!

#9: Assassination Classroom

I really like this anime and the end is so sad????

A strange new teacher is introduced to Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The teacher is a round-headed, tentacled octopoid creature that is capable to move at an insane speed. In a year, he plots to destroy the earth but decides to teach a junior high school class in the meantime for an unknown reason. The students greet him with assassination attempts in their journey to save the world by eventually murdering their own teacher, and to earn 10 billion yen from the government.

Really good anime!! Popular as well 10/10 would recommend!!

The sixteen-year-old high school student Shinichi Izumi falls victim to one of the parasites that descended to earth and quickly infiltrated humanity by burrowing into the brains of vulnerable targets. However, the parasite fails to take over his brain ending up in his right hand instead. The parasite, named Migi, has no choice but to rely on Shinichi in order to stay alive.

This anime is good written and modern, great for beginners!!!

The blonde nodded at him.  "Such a unique method requires a little more work than human reproduction. Elijah has been working on this for quite some time. A powerful enough memory chip that can contain a conscience, and then be transferred to a processor without memory loss. The programming, with code donated from each parental units depending on the couple dynamic, will not be stored anywhere but the processor."  "That's...A lot of information. Spreading base code through different biocomponents is the norm…" Josh pointed out "Alleviates stress and pressure in the processor."  "It's quite the undertaking, but the new processor types Elijah is working on for these memory chips...They can handle a lot more than your average android brain." She reassured "Most important of all, they can expand indefinitely as long as they are well maintained and upgraded accordingly."  "So in other words...Elijah Kamski has just created the first android brain that can grow up like a fully biological organism...That's...Insane!" Simon's eyes were wide with both awe and glee.Markus smiled as it all dawned on everyone in the room.They could have children. Children of their own.And there was nothing Cyberlife could do about it anymore.

"That's domestic abuse!"  "Did you see anything Simon?"  "Not a thing."  "No domestic abuse has occurred then."  "Judas!"  "Could you three take this a little more seriously?" Markus sighed. He loved them all, but god above give him strength...Sometimes he wished they were more mature. "We need to work this out."  "Markus we're only playing a little...Of course we take this seriously." Simon put a hand on his shoulder. "We're just excited is all…"  "Speak for yourself, I'm kind of scared." North admitted. "A baby, Simon. An android baby…"  "The first of its kind" Josh added.  "Our baby. She'll be wonderful, I just know it…" the blond smiled. "Smart like her papa Josh, brave like her mama North, passionate like her papa Markus…"  "And kind like her papa Simon." Markus finished before slowly pulling over the tablet that had been resting by his side.All four looked at the screen. At the stream of intertwined code. Four different types, working in perfect harmony with the experimental program Kamski had given them access to.  “She’ll be a beautiful person…”

     Assembly of the baby is also a group effort. They carefully put together their child’s chassis based on a little bit of everyone’s concept designs. A nice compromise of sorts.For now she’ll be an infant. Fragile and small, bald and in need of learning. But when she develops further with time, she’ll acquire just as many visual traits as her programming inherited from all of their donated code.Her skin will be tan and speckled with constellations of freckles, just like Markus, although the nose and ears are definitely North’s.Her hair will be a charcoal black and curly like Josh’s, framing her skull beautifully and bringing out the color of her eyes. A soulful sky blue like Simon’s.She’ll be small and lightly built like her mother, nimble and fast, but not quite as fragile. Sturdier like her fathers. Strong and hardy.For now, however, as Markus holds the tiny bundle in his arms and stares lovingly at the inquisitive look in those precious baby blues.Flanking him as his partners, his lovers, her parents. In front of him are Carl, Leo and Matthew.  “She’s so small…” Leo whispers when he first sees his little niece.  “And very serene.” Carl added, the joy in his eyes making them twinkle with love for Markus and how far he’s come. “Truly the most peaceful baby I’ve ever seen.”  “She is…” Markus cradled her gently, watching her as her little limbs moved on occasion. How her steady breathing remained soft and quiet.  “What’s her name?” Matthew asked, the usually stoic AP700 looking just as enamored as everyone else in the room.  “Hope” all four reply, the babe in the RK200’s arms snuggling closer to her father’s chest as if knowing they are speaking of her.A little miracle. A gift. Their perfect little gift.Markus’s heart swells with fulfilment and love.The right to reproduce. It’s theirs now, and soon enough more androids will be able to experience the joys of beginning a family of their own.To pass on their legacy.The future looks brighter than ever.

Pouncing on you I pinned you against the wall and kissed you again, needing your lips on mine. Hands in your hair completely messing it I reached for your ass pinching it. You let a yelp of surprise and I took advantage of it by shoving my tongue in your mouth. It was a sloppy kiss and drool was running down on our chins but fuck I needed it.

Pulling away with a strand of saliva still connected to our mouths, I caressed your cheek tenderly, pressing my forehead against yours.

'I'm gonna talk to Emma, and will tell her about my feelings. I don't think that explaining how I ate you out is useful though, so I'm gonna keep it for myself okay?'

Your eyes widened at my words and you beamed with happiness.

Kissing me again with a smile on your lips you quickly after hushed me outside to Mikey.

'Goodnight Vee, will call you as soon as I'm back home'

I wasn't chickening out but I was stressed. Emma was a sweet girl, I knew her since childhood and I didn't want to hurt her. But I wasn't the type to stay for people, especially when I didn't feel the need to.

'What do you want to say to Emma by the way?'

Letting my helmet hanging around my neck losely I turned to Mikey.

'I- I'm gonna break up with her Mikey. I don't want you to get mad at me or anything but-'

Hearing his loud sigh I exhaled. Here we go.

'You love Vee don't you?'

That was not expected.

'Eh?'

'Ken-chin I'm not stupid nor blind. I'm not angry at you per say, but I don't want Emma to get hurt. I just- I want you and her to be happy and I loved the idea of you both finding happiness together. But if it wasn't meant to be then fine. Just don't hurt her, that's all I ask for.'

Mikey left me speechless. Since when was he so mature about emotions? Was he always that aware of his surroundings?

'Go, but expect her to scream and cry. I'll be here to hold her tonight, so do it quickly.'

Nodding at him I jogged to her room after taking off my shoes, but stopped before turning around the corner.

'Mikey?'

'Hm?'

'Thank you'

'My next meal is on you!'

Smiling at his request I resumed walking.

I’m leaning against the door the moment it slides shut, fingers ghosting over my lips, still buzzing from the kiss. This is it. This was really it.

Ken and I were finally going to be together. While the situation had gone down a little… messier than I imagined it to go, the outcome was still as I’d dreamed it. I was finally getting my heart’s desire.

At the expense of someone else’s, a more cynical part of me bit and I frowned.

I was right. To get my dream, I’d have to crush Emma’s. Despite us loving the same person, Emma was really sweet and the last thing I’d ever wanted was to hurt her, but the situation was complicated. Saving her feelings would inevitably hurt mine.

And what about Mikey? The rest of Toman? Would he hate me for being the reason his sister was heartbroken? Would I lose my newfound friends just as fast as I made them? I didn’t feel as bad as I thought I would in Shuji’s case. We went on one date, hardly enough for either party to catch feelings for the other. And besides, any relationship that developed between the two of us would be doomed to fail, since I was still terribly in love with Ken. I’d only be using Hanma to get over him, or pretend I didn’t love him and that wouldn’t have been fair to Shuji at all.

The thoughts drive me crazy, so I decide to take a shower and clear my head. I stay under there for hours, first cleaning today’s events off of my body and then just sitting beneath the shower head for the rest of the time.
