This is the last thing i'm going to post about episode five of Ahsoka, i promise. It just kind of f*cked my whole perception of the entire franchise, all the way up. Never mind the fact that the Jedi Council was legit grooming child soldiers to send them off to the front lines of a war over f*cking tariff disputes, or the fact that Maul got absolutely bodied by a whole ass teenager, there is a fully realized Anakin Skywalker just hanging out in the World Between Worlds. I'm not talking Clone Wars Anakin who got quadriplegic'd by old man Ben, or the hulking, cyborg, menace of an attack dog for the Galactic Empire, but a full potential Anakin Skywalker. An Anakin who has mastered the Force to the point he has transcended even the ability to project as a Force Ghost. An Ankin that somehow found his way into The World Between Worlds with no maps or clues. An Anakin fully at peace with who is, who he was, and who he can be. The truest version of The Chosen One legend, given form.
Tumblr media
The quiet feats he demonstrated during that little training session with Ahsoka, were ridiculous. This wasn't a Force Ghost because he physically fought Ahsoka with a perfectly mastered Form Five. Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker was considered one of, if not the best, Jedi Duelist in history, and even that from couldn't master Form Five. This wasn't a memory because he referenced the sh*t Luke said to him during his duel, and inevitable defeat, on the Death Star II. “I won't fight you”, Ahsoka said. “I've heard that before”, Anankin replied. This was Grand Master Anakin Skywalker and he taught Ahsoka a real lesson, forcing her evolution into Ahsoka the goddamn White. During this process, he flitted between himself and his Vader form, like it was nothing. Light and Dark at the drop of a hat but, when Vader finally clashed with Ahsoka, it was Anakin's face he wore. I'm talking full power Darth Vader, without the cybernetic handicaps. Sh*t was glorious to see. He was vicious, brutal, but controlled. The anger was there but it was focused. This was Vader perfected but used for a purpose. This Vader was truly the Sith Lord he was under that armor, but lacked the self-loathing. This Vader was more a tool used to show Ahsoka that she, too, can fall. That it was a choice. That she could overcome even the greatest evil, ever, in her mind; Her fallen master, Darth Vader. But those are just glimpses of Anakin's power. This man literally reshaped The World Between Worlds on a whim.
Tumblr media
Anakin motherf*cking Skywalker literally warped an entire reality, just to train his Padawan one last time. He took this adult Ahsoka, and reverted her back to a teenage form. He used her memories to, not only reshape the landscape, but draw in actual people she remembered as tangible representations from that time. F*cking Rex was in the Clone Wars flashback, man, in full Clone Trooper armor. Anakin did that through sheer Force of will. Do you have any idea how f*cking powerful in the Force you have to be to do something like that? Just getting to the World Between Worlds is a feat but Anakin can shape it like clay. Not even the Father, The Daughter, and The Son could do that sh*t and Anakin was shown to be stronger than all of them when he was still just a Jedi Knight. The only other entity that i think can come close to this level of power is Abeloth from Legends and she was a f*cking problem that Grand Master Luke Skywalker barely solved. I mean, this version of Anakin Skywalker physically pulled Ahsoka into The World Between Worlds right before she crashed into that sea. That, alone, is a big ass "The f*ck?"
Tumblr media
What does Force Entity Anakin Skywalker mean for the rest of the franchise? This thing is bound by nothing, limited by nothing. He exists at the crossroads of all time, all reality. He can shape this core existance into anything he desires and carries a wisdom that only someone who has mastered the Force fully, can even begin to understand. In canon, that's just The Father, i think. In legends, that's just Luke, if I'm not mistaken. Like, he's stronger than the f*cking Whills, man. But, as broken as Anakin has become, that presents a problem for everything which comes after this episode. The sequels, specifically.
Tumblr media
Grand Master Anakin Skywalker is the caretaker for the Star Wars version of a Hyperbolic Time Chamber. He is some sort of extra-physical representation of true Force balance. He can physically pull anyone he wants into this Room of Spirit and Time to train them. He literally gifted Ahsoka all the knowledge he possessed, leveling up her Force abilities like they were nothing, and she was already technically stronger than Obi-Wan before that point. Even Palpatine understood that Force Potential alone, was only a part of true strength. That man spent years of his life, studying under one of the most pragmatic Sith to ever live. This version of Anakin has access to so much more of that knowledge, plus his near infinite potential with the Force. That fleeting thought, on it's own, it's just staggering. If Anakin can do that much, if he is some limitless Force God now, how does he let Poppa Paps manipulate his grandson into being just another tool? How the f*ck does Anakin Skywalker, the man who sent the entire galaxy into a murderous, imperial, dark age over the death of his wife, let his own, personal, abuser, do the exact same sh*t to his grandson? How does he not intervene with Luke during his exile? How do these narratives even work anymore now that Grand Master Anakin Skywalker, Keeper of The World Between Worlds, exists?

He cut a striking figure, even when cradled in the dark he still called to Obi-Wan. 8 Qualities of Fictional Heroes
Tomorrow, my novel "The Double" publishes on Amazon. (Grab your copy here.) The hero of the novel, Eddie Ankin, is my entry into the annals of heroic characters in contemporary fiction. An ex-Marine turned Hollywood stuntman who has to take matters into his own hands to stop a killer. I've always wanted to write a hero. I spent much of my early days in television focused on anti-heroes, so I've longed to see what it took to create a hero in today's world with all its challenges, big and small, professional and personal.
Why do we love to read about heroes?
Best-selling novelist Robert Crais has a pretty good answer. As he writes to his hero, Elvis Cole, in the anthology The Lineup, "you are a metaphor...you represents hope to people...most folks, all we have is ourselves, the transmission drops before Christmas, some dip keys your car, the rent jacks up, and we're left wondering how we're going to make it. That's where you come in."
Pick up Mr. Crais’s latest Elvis Cole novel here:
In contemporary fiction, characters like Jack Reacher, John Corey, or most of John Grisham's lawyers often possess qualities that readers find heroic and entertaining.
I thought about these qualities a lot when writing about my hero, Eddie Ankin, trying to build them into him while following him in his first adventure in "The Double." Read the book and judge for yourself if Eddie is a fictional character worthy of the label: "heroic."
In the meantime, here are 8 qualities that I think make a great fictional hero:
1. Mastery: The characters in the story have an extraordinary ability to develop creative solutions and a deep understanding of their respective fields. They use their expertise to excel in challenging situations and produce remarkable results.
2. Determination: Possessed of an unshakeable desire to succeed, heroic characters forge ahead. No matter the obstacle, they persevere with a ferocity borne from unyielding strength of will. They will not quit until their goal is accomplished. They endure hardships and setbacks but find ways to bounce back, showcasing resilience.
3. Courage: These figures may be confronted with risky or hazardous circumstances and demonstrate bravery in the face of adversity. They stay calm in a crisis. They keep their wits about them even in a dangerous or hostile situation. These figures fight for their cause and are not afraid to risk their lives for it.
4. Strong moral compass: They are often driven by a desire to do what is right. There can be a struggle between upholding a strong moral code and getting the job done. On the one hand, they have a strong moral code that they adhere to even when it comes into conflict with the law. On the other hand, they sometimes find themselves operating outside of the law in order to achieve their goals.
Share
5. Intelligence: They are often portrayed as intelligent and resourceful, able to think critically and solve complex problems.
6. Strength: These characters are no slouches in terms of physicality - they possess great strength, agility, and mastery of combat, giving them a definite edge when facing off against opponents.
7. Wit and charisma: Often, they possess a sharp wit and a sense of humor that adds an element of entertainment to their character. This is an important quality for readers to respond to as it injects a playful dynamic into the story and keeps the narrative lively. Characters with wit are adept at maneuvering their way out of tricky situations. For example, Jack Reacher is renowned for his wry comments. In every book, he dishes out funny lines that keeps readers invested in the story. Similarly, John Corey's dry sense of humor and droll sarcasm act as a counterpoint to his gruff demeanor which keeps readers hooked on every page. These characters have a certain magnetism that captivates readers, making them enjoyable to follow throughout their journeys.
8. Complexity: The protagonists of these stories are usually well-developed with interesting and complex backgrounds that draw readers in. Their struggles and motivations are the very things that make them instantly relatable. Watching how they use those struggles to solve the problems they face is what makes them captivating.
What do you look for in your fictional heroes?
Who are your real life heroes?

The day the Twst fandom gives the same amount attention and respect to Japanese culture, and other East and South Asian cultures as they do others is the day I can finally Rest In Peace.
“Do your research” is a phrase that extends beyond just one or two selected cultures. Respect all cultures otherwise you look like a hypocrite.

Hey guys. This is my first fanfic ever, so I apologize if it’s utter crap. Based on the amazingly talented @oifaaa‘s newest Sith au art.
“Sir, wake up!”
Anakin blinked, opening his eyes. He frowned, and looked up to see Rex standing above him, saluting. “Wha’s going on? Why’d ya wake me up?” Anakin slurred, still-half asleep. He checked the clock, frowning. It was the middle of the night! What in Malachor was Rex doing, waking him up at a time like this? He sat up, glaring at the clone. Rex fidgeted, shifting his weight from foot to foot.
“We.. uh.. it’s best to show you, sir.”
Anakin blinked. Was Rex.. nervous? There wasn’t much that could scare Rex anymore. They had been at war for years, after all. What could be urgent enough to wake him up in the middle of the night, and frightening enough to make Rex nervous? He stood up, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and stretched, muscles still aching from that last battle. Rex coughed, startled, and Anakin looked down at his pajamas. He was wearing a bright pink T-shirt that was two sizes too big, and the words “Chosen One: Force’s #1 boi” were scrawled on it messily in glow-in-the-dark fabric paint. He blushed slightly. “It was a birthday gift from Aayla!” Rex coughed. “Still, you might want to put something over it, sir.” Anakin rolled his eyes. He could imagine the look on Admiral Yularen’s face if he came into an urgent meeting half-naked, wearing nothing but boxers and a hot pink t-shirt. But, as he was probably going to be dragged to some super-serious middle of the night war meeting, he slipped a clean (ish) Jedi robe on over it, and followed Rex out into the hallway.
The ship was silent, except for the low hum of the engines and the sound of their footsteps. It was eerie to see the ship, so alive in the daytime, like this. He hurried down the corridors, Rex leading the way towards the briefing room. Two clones, both new recruits, stood guard. Anakin nodded to both of them before walking into the room. Several clones stood there, their faces unusually grave, speaking to each other in hushed tones. Admiral Yularen stood in front of the holoprojector, looking somber. The Admiral sighed, looking around the room. When he saw Anakin, the man sighed, only raising his eyebrows a fraction of a degree when he saw  Anakin’s T-shirt. Anakin realized, perhaps a little belatedly, that he had forgotten to put on shorts.
Anakin grimaced, and looked at the Admiral. “What is it?”
Admiral Yularen shook his head, looking grim. The man gestured for Anakin to come to him. Anakin obliged, his mind frantically running through a million worst-case scenarios Oh, how he wished Master Mace were here. The admiral pushed some buttons on the holoprojector and an image appeared, shockingly bright in the dark room. The rotating image showed a small Republic base, tucked into the mountains of some forested planet. It looked like a supply station, probably for larger ships such as the Resolute. Anakin turned to the Admiral, confused.  Why was such a small base important? He opened his mouth to ask that very same question, when the admiral said, “This was the supply station we were supposed to stock up at. We’re currently hovering above the planet.” Anakin closed his mouth, and tried to work out why this was a problem. Had there been some kind of holdup? Did the station not have the necessary supplies? If so, that would be a problem. The ship was low on fuel and supplies, and they had to rendezvous with Aayla’s fleet in a couple of days. Also, as far as Anakin knew, this was the only supply station in the mostly deserted system. They wouldn’t be able to make it to the rendezvous point without those supplies.
Admiral Yularen continued, “We received a transmission from the security cams at the base 30 minutes ago.” The admiral clicked a few more buttons and the image disappeared, replaced by a holorecording of the same base. Admiral Yularen flipped a switch on the console, and the   holorecording began to play. For a few seconds nothing happened. The recording was bland, simply showing two clones patrolling the perimeter of the base. Then, so quick that Anakin almost didn’t see it, a flash of red took off the head of one of the clones. Barely half a second later, two more identical red flashes killed the other clone, so fast, the body of his brother hadn’t even fallen.
Anakin’s first thought was that the base had come under attack by battle droids, but that didn’t make sense. Battle droids couldn’t possibly be that accurate, or that fast, and why would the CIS waste such valuable resources on a small Republic base in the middle of nowhere? Then he noticed that the red flashes that he had mistaken for blaster bolts were moving. Lightsabers. Red lightsabers. Sith. But that made even less sense. The Sith were a small Order, mostly made up of fallen Jedi. There couldn’t be more than 200 of them in the entire galaxy.  Why would the CIS waste some of their most valuable commanders on a base in a deserted system that meant nothing to the Seperatists? It didn’t make sense, unless… unless the Sith somehow knew that his ship would be stopping here for supplies. Unless they knew that destroying this base would be the best way to stop his fleet from returning to the main battlegrounds in the mid rim. But how… Anakin shook his head. These were questions for a later time, as Master Windu used to say. He needed to focus on the here and now, and that was this meeting.
The Sith moved forward, walking into the circle of light thrown by the base’s lamps, allowing Anakin to see more of them. Like all Sith, they wore long, dark cloaks, with the hoods pulled low over their faces, so all Ankin could make out was their sinister, glowing yellow eyes. There were two of them, a master and an apprentice. The shorter one carried two lightsabers, a normal-sized one and a shoto. The taller one, likely the master, only carried one. The shorter Sith began cutting into the durasteel door, and the camera feed cut off. A new image replaced the holorecording, and Anakin gasped in horror. It was the base, the one they had just seen the Sith cut into, but it was completely destroyed. Fires burned in and around the building, which could hardly even be called such anymore, the windows were shattered, the walls falling as if pushed back by a mighty explosion, and, worst of all, bodies. Bodies everywhere, mutilated and utterly destroyed. If Anakin hadn’t known they were clones, he’d have been hard-pressed to identify them. Holy shit.
“Two… two Sith did this?” He asked, horrified. Admiral Yularen nodded, and Anakin noticed that all the clones in the room had gone silent. Honoring their fallen vode. Anger burned in Anakin as he looked down at the destroyed building. “You said this was thirty minutes ago, right, Admiral?” Anakin asked, not even bothering to hide the anger in his voice. Admiral Yularen nodded. “So.. um, hypothetically, would the Sith still be down there?” The admiral nodded once again. “It is likely, especially since we have not detected any ships leaving the atmosphere.” Anakin glared at the holorecording once more, then turned to look at the clones around him. Those were their brothers, their vode, that had been killed so brutally. Fury overwhelmed him. How could those Sith do that? They would pay. Anakin looked up to see Admiral Yularen frowning at him suspiciously.  “What.. what are you planning, sir?” He asked, looking wary. Anakin grinned, and he was sure his smile was nothing short of murderous. “Prep my fighter. I’m going down.”

Time and Time and Time
Anakin mouths off too hard, and for his trouble, is de-aged back down to a five-year-old.
WARNING: This fic is sad and has brief mentions of child abuse because that’s what happens sometimes when you’re five years old and a slave.
Ahsoka Tano is no stranger to a bad situation. It seems that every time she turns around, something has gone wrong. Betrayals. Explosions. Dead soldiers.
That’s war, she supposes. And while it gets strange sometimes, it is rarely quite this weird.
“Ahsoka, report.”
She opens her mouth, but no sounds come out.
“Ahsoka!” Master Obi-Wan’s voice is sharp and worried. “What’s happening down there?”
Ahsoka blinks once, and then again, but the sight before her is still the same.
In place of her master, who is tall and strong and every inch the hero the holo news always makes him out to be, is a very small boy, no more than five years old. Sandy hair. Tanned skin. Big blue eyes. Malnourished.
Terrified.
“We uh...have a problem,” Ahsoka stammers into her comm. “Master Obi-Wan, Master Anakin angered the witches of Dathomir. And they...have retaliated.”
“Oh, Force,” Obi-Wan grumbles. “Oh, Anakin. I’ll be planet-side in a few minutes.”
“Yup,” Ahsoka says, her voice going an octave higher than it normally does. “Great. See you soon.” She clicks off and takes a breath, before carefully kneeling down in front of the boy, who stumbles away from her. “No, no, no, it’s okay,” she tells him gently, putting her hands up in a peaceful motion. “I won’t hurt you.”
The boy - who is most definitely her master - watches her carefully as he tugs on his lightweight tunic, seemingly trying to pull it tighter to his body, and it confuses Ahsoka for a moment.
“He’s cold,” Obi-Wan says from behind her as he steps up. “At this age, Anakin had never been off of Tatooine before, and they don’t have seasons there. It’s just desert.”
Ahsoka gets to her feet and turns to face him, Rex and Cody. “Rex, can you please get the-...well...the General a blanket?”
Rex nods, and dashes off without a word. She can feel through the Force just how stunned he is.
Just how stunned they all are.
Obi-Wan sighs heavily and kneels down in front of the little boy, who stumbles back again.
“It’s alright, Ani,” he says gently. “We’re going to help you.”
“How do you know my name?” Anakin asks, looking worried. “W-where am I? Where’s...where my Mama?”
Obi-Wan swallows. “We’re on a planet called Dathomir,” he says. “And...and your mother isn’t...she isn’t here. We’re going to take care of you for the time being.”
“Did Gardula do bad things to her again?” Anakin asks, his big eyes filling with deep worry. “Sometimes Gardula does bad things to Mama but then I help take care of her until she’s better. I can take care of her. I can help.”
Ahsoka feels a deep wave of sadness wash over her, and it’s not just her own. It’s radiating off of Obi-Wan as well.
“I know you can, Ani,” Obi-Wan nods. “But we have to leave this place first.” He gets to his feet and holds a hand out to him. “Come along, little one.”
It’s like a duck to water the way Anakin takes his hand, following after him.
“Master-” Ahsoka starts.
“Later,” Obi-Wan tells her.
*****
“So...this is what Master Anakin was like when he was young?” Ahsoka asks softly from the copilot seat, as Obi-Wan pilotes.
Anakin himself is curled up in one of the back passenger seats, a blanket wrapped around him, shivering in his sleep.
“No,” Obi-Wan admits. “He was quite a few years older when we met. He was...brash and confident. A funny little boy. Defensive. Harsher.”
“He mentioned Gardula...the Hutt?”
Obi-Wan nods. “He and his mother were enslaved by the Hutts before being sold to a Toydarian.” He goes quiet for a moment. “I...I suppose I never really thought about just how terrible it must have been.”
“We can’t tell him his mother is dead,” Ahsoka says, her voice lowering.
“Of course no,” Obi-Wan says quickly. “He is five years old and he has no memories of his life. We must bring him back to the Temple. The rest of the Council will know what to do.”
“And if they don’t?” Ahsoka asks.
“Then we find the Witches who did this, and we make them turn him back.”
Ahsoka purses her lips and glances back at the shivering little boy worriedly. “He’s so small.”
“Yes.”
“Like he hasn’t eaten in days.”
“He probably hasn’t.”
“Should I get him a ration bar?”
Obi-Wan shakes his head. “If he eats it too fast, he’ll likely vomit it back up. There’ll be soup at the Temple.”
She nods. “What are we going to tell Senator Amidala?”
“We are not going to tell Senator Amidala anything,” he tells her firmly. “This situation is complicated enough without bringing...whatever her feelings for Anakin are into this mess.”
“But-”
“For now, we keep this within the Jedi, Ahsoka.”
“Rex and Cody know.”
Obi-Wan says nothing.
“You’re really upset about this.”
“Of course I’m upset about this,” Obi-Wan says, frowning at her. “Anakin is my brother, and to see him like this…”
She nods again, crossing her arms tightly.
He sighs and gets to his feet, tugging his Jedi robes off and draping them over the little boy before sitting back down.
****
It’s shocking to Ahsoka, a little, to watch Obi-Wan scoop the little boy into his arms - robes and blanket and all - and carry him off of the ship and towards the Temple.
For his part, Anakin is half-asleep, eyes hazy, but his little body shivers harder in the breeze and he nestles further into the robes and Obi-Wan.
“It’s alright, Ani,” Obi-Wan says gently. “We’ll be inside soon.”
When they get to the Temple, it is likely the last thing that Obi-Wan was hoping for, as a delegation of senators sits in the Council Chambers, meeting with Mace and Yoda.
The look of complete shock on Senator Amidala’s face is a sight to behold, Ahsoka thinks.
“There was an incident on Dathomir,” Obi-Wan tells them hesitantly, trying to look anywhere but at Padme. “The witches de-aged Anakin to what we believe is about five years old.”
Mace closes his eyes for a moment before opening them again and turning to the senators. “Excuse us, Senators. It seems that something urgent has come up.”
They exchange their goodbyes, and most walk out.
All but Padme. She stays behind, gazing at the little boy with sad eyes. “He needs to eat.”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan nods. “We’ll get him something soon.”
“It’s not fair to make him wait,” Padme says firmly.
“Senator, I must speak with Masters Windu and Yoda first,” Obi-Wan tells her. His voice is equally firm. “We will take care of him.”
“Fine,” she snaps, reaching forward and taking Anakin into her own arms quickly, before Obi-Wan can really protest. “If you won’t feed him, I will.”
He sighs heavily, squeezing his eyes shut. “Ahsoka, please escort the Senator down to the kitchens and help her heat up some soup.”
Ahsoka nods and heads for the doors, glancing back at Padme, who is holding Ankin tightly in her arms, whispering comforting words to him.
“I know it isn’t easy to see him like this,” Ahsoka says quietly.
“No, it isn’t,” Padme says. She sighs and seems to loosen up a little. “I’m sorry, Ahsoka.”
The Padawan nods as she leads Padme into the kitchens, starting to rummage in the refrigeration unit. “I know there’s some leftover soup somewhere.”
Padme nods and settles Anakin onto the bench of a little table before kneeling in front of him and smiling sadly. “Hi, Ani.”
“Who are you?” Anakin asks, finally more awake now, rubbing his eyes as he adjusts Obi-Wan’s robes. “Where did the nice man go?”
“He’s upstairs,” Padme tells him. “We’ll go see him after you’ve had some food. My name is Padme.”
He lights up. “Food? Is there really food?”
“Yes, darling,” she smiles, brushing some of his hair away from his eyes. “Miss Ahsoka is going to make you some soup. And I bet there’s bread.”
“Oh boy! Can we wrap some up for my Mama? She’s hungry, too.”
Ahsoka’s heart sinks. “Of...of course we can,” she stumbles over her words as she heats the soup and starts slicing the bread. “There’s plenty.”
“Maybe…” Anakin says hesitantly. “Maybe I could go get Mama and we could come and live here? Mama cooks real good. I wouldn’t be any trouble. We could help.”
Padme takes a deep breath and rubs his arms with the robes. “Eat, and then we can talk once Obi-Wan is done talking to the Council.”
The hope dims in the little boys eyes, but he nods.
****
“A troubling matter this is,” Yoda says as Ahsoka leads Anakin back to the Council Chambers by the hand. Padme had had to leave, though reluctantly.
“Padawan Tano, if you would wait in your quarters?” Mace asks.
“But-”
“We’ll keep you informed, Ahsoka,” Obi-Wan promises.
She sighs and steps out, leaving the three of them along with the little boy.
Yoda steps over to Anakin, examining him. “Feel better, do you, Skywalker? With some food in you, hm?”
Anakin giggles and reaches out, tugging on Yoda’s ear gently. “You’re funny.”
Yoda chuckles, though Mace stands behind him, looking slightly unnerved.
“Tell me, Young Skywalker,” Yoda says. “The last thing you remember. Before finding you, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan did.”
The smile dies on the little boy's face and he looks down, before covering himself in Obi-Wan’s robes, including his face.
Mace huffs, looking amused. “Just as difficult as a child…”
“Gardula gave me to one of her friends for a present,” Anakin says. “And he touched me. And I got scared. And then part of the building came down. Because I was scared.”
Obi-Wan’s face crumbles. “That’s why Gardula sold them,” he says quietly, to no one in particular. “He accidentally used the Force and brought half a building down.”
“I didn’t mean to!” Anakin insists. “I was scared!”
“Always afraid, you have been,” Yoda nods. “Things you have been through, that most of us have not.”
“I want my Mama,” Anakin says, pulling down the robes again. “Where’s Mama?”
“She isn’t here, Ani,” Obi-Wan says gently.
“I gotta go find Mama. She’s gonna get in trouble for what I did!”
“Anakin-” Mace starts, but doesn’t get a chance to say more as the little boy drops the robes and runs from the Chambers and out into the hall.
“That went poorly,” Obi-Wan says sadly, getting to his feet. “I’ll go after him.”
“Obi-Wan,” Mace says, stopping the younger Jedi. “Did you know? About…”
“I always had a feeling,” Obi-Wan says. “But it was all so painful. I didn’t want to hurt him.”
Yoda nods. “Hm. Find him, you must Obi-Wan.”
He nods, grabs his robes and dashes out.
*****
He does find him eventually, in the gardens, under one of the larger trees, shivering without Obi-Wan’s robes.
“Ani.”
“I want my Mama.”
“I...I know, Anakin,” Obi-Wan nods. “She isn’t here.”
Anakin looks up at him, a deep sadness in his blue eyes. “Something bad happened to her, and it’s my fault.”
It’s then that it dawns on Obi-Wan what’s happening.
Anakin can’t feel his mother’s presence anywhere in the galaxy, and he doesn’t have his memories. He doesn’t remember his mother’s death.
“It is not your fault,” he says gently, sitting in front of him, and wrapping the robes around him again. “Nothing that happened was your fault, Ani. You must understand that you were...are...just a little boy. One who had- has...no control over your destiny. All of these things happened to you. Not because of you.”
Tears spill from Anakin’s eyes as he huddles into the robes, his face disappearing, and Obi-Wan settles down in the grass next to him, silently pulling him close, holding him tightly.
He wonders if perhaps they’d had this conversation before...the first time Anakin was young and afraid and alone...perhaps their relationship would not have been so tumultuous.
Obi-Wan wonders if it’s too late to right that wrong.
He hopes not.
****
It takes a few days, but the Council finds a way to re-age Anakin back to the way he should be, and Obi-Wan is relieved, but also dreading the conversation he knows is coming.
It’s late at night when there’s a knock on the door of his quarters, and when he opens it, he finds Anakin - back to his regular adult age, and freshly showered - standing there, holding Obi-Wan’s Jedi robes tightly.
“Anakin?”
“These are yours,” Anakin says, holding the robes out. “Thank you for letting me borrow them, Master. I was very cold.”
“I know,” Obi-Wan says gently, taking the robes back.
“I think I got some snot on them,” Anakin admits sheepishly.
“They’re washable,” Obi-Wan assures him.
Anakin nods, crossing his arms and looking down. “It’s late. You’re probably tired, and-”
“We should talk,” Obi-Wan cuts him off. “There is much to say.”
Anakin swallows. “Is there?”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan tells him. “There are things we should have discussed long ago. I am ashamed that I’ve waited until now to admit that.” He settles the robes on the back of a chair in his quarters and beckons Anakin inside. “Come along. I’ll make some tea.”
‘But not the weird green stuff,” Anakin says, hesitantly following him.
“I keep the black tea just for you,” Obi-Wan grins. “Have a seat.”

Clone Wars Re-watch
Season One
The Gungan General
Oh look, our Dynamic Duo is now in a cell with Dooku, because if you can trust Hondo on anything, it's outsmarting himself.
I see the anti-seatbelt agenda is hard at work.
No, wait, it's Jar-Jar has a secret jinxing power. The poor senator.
Dooku is beign smug. Obi-Wan is snarking. Situation as normal.
I see the one lady pirate in the traitor group doesn't get to ride her jetbike.
Once placed in action, Jar-Jar is a lot more apt.
And Anakin joins the snarking.
Oh Jar-Jar. Clumsing himself into saving the day.
And Dooku makes his escape Sith style.
Jedi Crash
Hello Aayla! Looking very dramatic there.
Anakin's Risky Plan Go!~ Rex and co probably by now have a count of how many times Ahsoka went "Master! Are you sure that's the wisest course of action?"
Anakin = 1, Explosion = 2?
Aayla's Risky Plan Go!
And now we're at the important lesson that sometimes it's your master's life bing put at risk vs everyone on board dying and that it means you probably should solve the "we're all gonna die" problem first.
It's worth noting that Aayla explains to Ahsoka that she had the same issues when she was her age with understanding and feeling the difference between compassion and attachment. And she doesn't contradict Ahsoka that trying to save Anakin's live is a good thing--it is! But a Jedi can't prioritize one life over the lives of many.
It's equally worth noting that Ankin's own attachment issues are affecting Ahsoka. She literally says that she knows Anakin would stay with her. Of course, there's a slight difference here, given that Ahsoka is still a child and Anakin an adult, but we know that this wouldn't factor in Anakin's calculus. He'd stay with her because she's his, not because this is the best course of action.
And we also set up the "Jedi get blamed for the war" thing, I see. The Lurmen elder does make some good point, but he does make the mistake of saying that fighting back is as bad as starting a fight. Clearly, he'd never had to deal with any bullies and how things like this tend to misfire.
Defenders of Peace
And of course, the Separatists show up, because if you have a neutral group of pacisfists who have no way of going not-pacifist if their neutrality is threatened, then someone will try to force them to choose sides.
That said, I'd have liked the discussion handled with some more depth. Come on, Jedi are based on Buddhism, surely they'd have more of a take than "Liberty is worth fighting for"?
Oh hello there colonization parallels.
Guys. You're Jedi. Can you not Force pull the probe droid back to you?
Really, must you be so suicidially stubborn, Tee Watt Kaa?
And the day is saved... until the Empire rises.

The Ankin Law Office Annual College Scholarship
By Julia White
June 8, 2000. It was lunch time and Buck Rockafellow, a young ironworker working on the third floor of a building, was eager to get to his food. Rockafellow briefly unclipped his safety harness to take a long step. His foot fell on a slick, oily surface, and he fell 10 meters. Despite 18 broken bones and a collapsed lung, Rockafellow not only lived, but even eventually walked again (TriMedia Environmental & Engineering Services, n.d.). However, one need only Google ‘workplace accident stories’ to know that most workers who fall from such a height are not so lucky.
Occupational illnesses and injuries cost everyone. Employees lose quality of life or life itself, while employers face fines and, in extreme cases, imprisonment. But despite the dire possibilities, employers and employees alike can become blasé to danger, courting disaster to save a few minutes or bucks. Rockafellow’s story not only demonstrates the injurious consequences of taking shortcuts with safety, but also the fact that an employer can only do so much to protect employees.
Employers are responsible to create and maintain a safe workplace, as well as provide the proper safety training, warnings, and equipment (Occupational Safety and Health Administration, n.d.). But for these measures to be effectual, employees must acknowledge their own role in maintaining their safety. Developing employee responsibility for adhering to safety standards is critical to a safe workplace.
The employer’s and employee’s roles in sustaining business safety are clearly illustrated in the case of “the most common US work-related illness”: occupational hearing loss (Masterson, Bushnell, Themann, & Morata, 2016). This condition, usually caused by exposure to high levels of noise, cannot be cured, only prevented. Perhaps unexpectedly, sufferers of the most hearing loss are often employed in environments with moderate, not high, levels of noise (Zhai, 2016). The reason? “At very high noise exposures, people very faithfully wear hearing protection and at low noise situations, people don’t” (Zhai, 2016). Employers can do their part by monitoring noise levels with dosimeters, providing hearing protection, and training employees on how to wear protective equipment properly. But all these efforts are futile if, in the end, employees don’t wear their protective gear.
Commitment to obeying safety protocols must come from internal sources. Employers can motivate their employees to comply by educating them about the potential health risks if they do not, either through training sessions, workplace announcements, or signs and posters. Regarding hearing loss, construction accident attorney John Sheehan says, “Many workers don’t use hearing protection because they are not aware of the risks” (The Barnes Firm, 2017). If employees believe that safety protocols merely exist to protect their boss from legal culpability, they may have fewer reservations about violating the rules. By demonstrating that safety rules are aligned with the workers’ own interests (their own health and life), an employer can obtain compliance more easily than by nagging, threatening, and micromanaging.
Employees must also be educated on how to avoid work injuries and illnesses. Repetitive Stress Injuries are upper-body muscle injuries caused by repetitive movements, especially during work (Ankin Law Office, n.d.). Employers can avoid cases of “the nation’s most common and costly occupational health problem” by instructing their employees on the need for good posture and regular breaks (NHS, 2016) (Gagne, 2010). Debilitating sprains and strains can be prevented with training on how to lift properly (with good posture, without twisting the body) as well as when not to lift (when the muscles are cold, when wearing improper footwear, when the load is too heavy).
Besides showing employees the personal benefits of following safety protocols and providing them with both the information and protective equipment they need, employers can incentivize employees by publicly praising and rewarding compliance. While the fear of punishment can generate obedience, it rarely engenders personal responsibility, creativity, or excellence. Conversely, the hunger for praise and recognition is one of the most powerful motivators in existence. And rather than chilling and straining human relationships, praise warms both the giver and the receiver.
While it is impossible to create a workplace entirely free of hazards, if employers and employees both play their roles in maintaining workplace safety, loss of health and life can be diminished.

How can businesses lessen the risk of personal injuries on the job?
At my last job, my boss fell and hit her head on the stairs. She’d been wearing high heels, traveling quickly, and carrying boxes. She was not holding the hand rail. The fall resulted in a concussion, and severely impacted her ability to work. She ended up stepping down from the position a few months ago.
In the above case, the fall resulted in traumatic brain injury. Traumatic brain injury can cause pain and disability, and in some extreme cases, death.[i]Even victims who do not experience serious or immediate injuries can be impacted with depression, fatigue, sleep problems, and increased risk of stroke.[ii]Additionally, repeated brain injuries can lead to what is called secondary impact syndrome, which can result in serious swelling of the brain and cognitive difficulties, among other symptoms.[iii]If a traumatic brain injury is suffered on job, the worker is generally entitled to benefits.[iv]Ultimately, though, this depends on whether the employer or employee was responsible for the injury, and if it was reported properly.
According to Find Law, falling injuries like the one described above are common.[v]They can be caused by preventable hazards such as uneven flooring, poor lighting, or slippery conditions.[vi]They can also be caused, as in her case, through no fault of the employer, resulting instead from risks taken by employees. According to Find Law, an employer is only at fault for a slip and fall incident if 1) they created the condition that caused the accident, 2) they knew the condition that caused the accident existed and neglected to correct it, or 3) the condition existed for such a long time that they should have known it existed and corrected it.[vii]
How can employers lessen the risk of personal injuries on the job? First, employers must implement proper safety measures. These could include ensuring that flooring is even, especially when the surface changes, or where there is carpet that could pull up at the ends; ensuring that the floor is cleared of hazards, including wires, boxes, or other obstructions; and ensuring that all walking areas are well lit. Stairs should have hand rails and non-slip steps, and should not be excessively steep. Additionally, employers can put signs around the workplace alerting employees and visitors to potential hazards and providing safety tips.
However, even when employers take all proper steps to make the workplace safe, injuries can happen. To further prevent workplace injuries, employers should provide safety training to employees. Trainings should include encouraging employees to take their time, wear shoes their comfortable in (i.e., with low heels or non-slip soles), not carry more than they can manage, and hold the hand rail. Additionally, employees should be trained in what to do if there is an incident, including when and how to file incident reports, and their rights should they be injured at the workplace.
Employers can also create – and hold employees accountable for – safety procedures. If tripping on stairs is common, for instance, employers can make a policy that employees must hold the hand rail, or limit what they are carrying on the stairs.
By maintaining a safe environment, training employees on workplace safety, and adopting safety procedures, employers can reduce the risk of workplace injury.

My 2 cents on the Twst English dub even though no one asked
At first I hated it but it slowly grew on me. I think it was because I’ve had fan-translations for so long that I considered them “canon” and got a bit miffed when it just… wasn’t exactly that. I was spoiled by them lol. That’s really on me.
I genuinely like some of the lines in English though! Aside from the weird changes like “Prefect” to “Housewarden” or what ever Madol is now, the prologue is good. Of course they fucked up some things, Cater is either a hit or miss for me and Diasomina, but hey! English Twst! We can play it!
