If you had to rank the Top Gun officers from "I want them in my bed now" to "If they hit on me at a bar I'd grimace and walk away," what would the order be and what level would they be at on the above scale? (i.e. 2. Bob - He's got that "gentlemen in the streets, freak in the sheets" vibe and I gotta know if that's true )

This actually took a while to think about (partially cuz I was distracted by Top Gun) but my rankings would be:

Hangman - I mean. I gotta know if Hungman is really... ya know. If he said jump, I'd say how high. I'd launch myself straight into orbit.

Bob - You're absolutely right, he's got that secret freak vibe and he's just so sweet, I'd die.

Phoenix - She's gorgeous, confident, and funny. I might be a little intimidated at first but I'd be down

Fanboy - I think a night with him would be surprisingly good, I think he has the same vibes as Bob like he might have some tricks up his sleeve that'll make it a night to remember

Coyote - He's also gorgeous, and seems like a fun guy, he seems like he can show you a good time, although I also feel like his pick-up lines might be a little cringey at first

Rooster - Weirdly enough, I think I might actually be thrown off if he tried to hit on me, but he'd win me over in time

Payback - Unfortunately, he reminds me a lot of my dad so I can't say I'd be too interested 😅

But yes, I do indeed have a Hangman OC. Let's meet:

Dr. Jasmine Lane

❋ Born and raised in San Francisco, Jas is the youngest of four daughters. Both her moms are nurses, as are two of her sisters; the third sister is a doctor, just like her.

❋ She graduated med school and enlisted in the Navy, much to the dismay of her moms. It caused Jas to have a strained relationship with her family, who disapprove of her career choice - the Navy part, not the doctoring.

❋ After disobeying orders by taking a man to surgery and saving his leg, Jas is demoted and sent to Miramar as punishment. She's lucky to not have been dishonorably discharged. She spends her time patching up minor injuries, doing physicals on aviators in the TOPGUN program, prepping to go on missions and special detachments, and prescribing cough medicine and Tylenol to navy personnel with colds and the flu. It's tedious work, but she does it without (much) complaint.

❋ Jas first meets Hangman at the Hard Deck the night before the first day of training for his special detachment. They shamelessly flirt, and Hangman is confident he can get her to go home with him. He can't. She leaves him hanging, which proves awkward when all the aviators need physicals the next day, and Jas is in charge.

❋ Hangman had no idea Jas was in the Navy because she'd just mentioned she was a doctor, but not in what capacity. He's a little shocked to see her there, but he's not one to back down from a challenge.

❋ And that's exactly what Jas is. The one who got away (from a one-night stand) and turned him down. She's the one who left him hanging, not the other way around and his ego is a little bruised by that.

❋ Jas fucks around and finds out, though not literally at first. She plays herself because, at the end of the day, she's insanely attracted to him, he's persistent, and she's having way too much fun flirting with him.

❋ Then she literally fucks around and finds out.

He'd be a fantastic friend. 100%. Also I'd have to make sure he makes better choices than he does. The only reason he's in best friend category is because I wouldn't want to ruin him. I can be mean lol. We'd be good as friends though.

Premise - A movie night turned into something you won't forget.

Spoiler warning for the movie 'Call Me By Your Name'

You won’t say it was a talent, but you predicted what would happen next while watching a movie. It started as a fun pastime with your father when you were young. And right now, snuggling next to Joaquin on the sofa you were having a movie night, watching ‘Call Me By You Name’

During the climax, you wait as Elio spends Hanukkah with his parents alone, and the phone rings. You hold your breath, perking up slightly as he looks at it.

Your brain goes into overdrive, and you hold your breath as it concludes that it’s Oliver on the other side and that they are breaking up.

Joaquin’s hand slid over your waist, and he held you close as you sat up against his chest.

And your vision blurs as you watch him calling out to Oliver by his name.

“Elio, Elio, Elio, Elio, Elio, Elio.”

There is a pause, and on the other side, he sighs.

“Oliver.”

He says it once, and you sniffle, dreading what’s coming next. The minute he confesses that he’s engaged to a woman and is about to marry, you break down.

You weep throughout the scene until Elio sits down at the fireplace and his mother calls out to him, softly.

But as the credits roll while Timothée Chalamet stares into the camera with tears, you hear a sniffle from behind you.

You freeze and slowly look behind you and straight at Joaquin, whose big brown eyes are overflowing with tears and he grimaced at the laptop placed in front of you.

“babe?” you sniffle, calling him.

“Yeah?” he sniffles, exhaling loudly.

Your voice breaks as you ask him, “Are you crying?”

He locks his eyes on your face and he stares at you innately with a tear rolling down his face.

“No.” He deadpans.

Watching him cry breaks your heart. "It's just a movie. Joaco, why are you crying..." You hiccup, wiping your tears away.

“Because you are crying!” He sobs. “Please don’t cry.” His face contracts, and he wipes his tears silently.

Your big hug engulfs him as soon as you hear that. His racing heartbeat calms down as you hold him tightly, feeling a warm sensation growing inside your chest.

When you wake up, you realize that the two of you fell asleep on the sofa, and it's early morning at the moment. Half-sleeping, you detangle yourself from Joaquin’s arms and look at him as he sleeps soundly. He looked at peace, a faint smile lingering on his lips. You gently kiss his forehead and tuck a stray strand of his long curls behind his ears.

You tuck yourself under the blanket beside him and drift off to sleep, the sound of his steady breathing lulling you to sleep.

hello everyone!

after taking a step away from tumblr, I realized I still want to create here, but I'm not in a mental place where I can have silent followers.

I totally understand where silently following comes from. There are times where I've been a silent follower. But right now when I'm feeling isolated, it's not good for me to see my follower count and then have so little interaction. My brain jumps to the explanation that nobody on here cares about what I post unless it's the hyper specific content they want. And while I've also been that kind of follower, I am in a place where I need a community and not necessarily people who just want something from me.

If you are a silent follower for whatever reason, I see you, I value you, and I want to direct you to my AO3 & FFN (as anna-phora). You can stay up to date on all of my writings there without the pressure to interact :)

I will be cleaning house of my followers who have not reblogged, commented, asked, chatted with me. Demelza Dayne in Gardens of Misery

PART I

Demelza Dayne, Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen were said to be the closest of friends as children. However once Viserys’ first wife died, things began to change between them. All three entered in the full bloom of their beauty, Alicent becoming betrothed to Viserys and putting tension between her and Rhaenyra. Demelza, meanwhile, gained the attention of several admirers, including Criston Cole and Daemon Targaryen.

The friendship between the girls was vital for another purpose: as Demelza was from a prominent Dornish family, it was thought she may be able to bring Dorne into the fold. The youngest of five siblings, Demelza was nonetheless an attractive marriage prospect. She was accompanied at most times by her guardian and confidante, Valko Sand.

The friendship between the girls reached a breaking point after Alicent bore Viserys a son, and Demelza abruptly departed King’s Landing for Starfall. She did not write to either Alicent or Rhaenyra for a time, and it would be years before the true purpose for her exile came to light.

What the fuck was he supposed to say? What even were you two? That hadn’t yet been a topic of conversation in your letters. You hadn’t slept together so you weren’t lovers. But at the same time, he felt something for you and had no interest in looking elsewhere for the same feeling, so you were exclusive in his mind. But exclusive what? "Yeah, I got someone." 

"Seriously?" 

"Yeah," Jake said, tipping his chair back on its legs. "And she wouldn't be caught dead wasting her time with yahoos like you."

"Let me guess, she's Canadian, isn't she?" asked Moonshine, barely concealing her laughter as she spoke.

Couldn't help myself so here are some crossover headcanons for our Top Gun doctor babes:

When Caro & Jas meet for the first time, Hangman comments that Jas is a "real" doctor to get under Caro's skin. Both women ream him out so bad he actually apologizes.

The two girls bond over talking shit about the aviators. They have an equal tolerance for bullshit (that is, none whatsoever) and find the other very easy to be around. Phoenix also gets in on this obviously.

In an effort to get them both to relax, the group has plied them with many drinks and have notes on "Four Drink Caro" & "Five Drink Jas" and every other level. Both of the women realize what's happening but free drinks.

Caro sees Jas & Hangman's sexually tense flirtationship and tells Jas to be wary of the game she's playing. When Jas insists it's just some light fun and nothing more, Caro says "That's exactly what I said." and then gives a pointed look to Fanboy trying to teach Dalia pool.

Speaking of Dalia, the little girl is seriously intimidated by Jas. She gives off "Serious Adult" vibes. She's shocked when Jas shows she's a real person and willing to play with her. She doesn't trust it at first which is as hilarious to the others as it is heartbreaking.

When Dalia gets seriously hurt, Jas is the first person Caro calls. (Unfortunately she's on duty and can't pick up.)

First of all, yes to all. Second of all, I have some additional thoughts and headcanons.

Even though Jas is unable to pick up when Caro calls, she goes straight to the hospital when she's off duty. She demands to know what's happening, who's treating her, and what procedures and tests they're performing. She bullies the staff into giving Dalia her favorite jello flavor.

Jas holds her drink well, so getting five drinks in her doesn’t change much. She'll play it up, though, especially around Hangman, hoping he will put his strong arms around her. If she sniffs him to get a whiff of his cologne, that's no one's business but her own—especially not Caro's, who gives her a knowing look.

Jas swears the Navy chiropractor is shit, so she refers the service members to Caro. We love girlies who support each other.

Jas is insulted at the implication that what she's doing with Hangman is anything like what Caro and Fanboy had. Jas is merely flirting and has no intention of sleeping with him, let alone getting pregnant. But because she can’t control herself, Jas sleeps with him that same night and doesn't tell Caro for a week. She doesn't particularly want to hear 'I told you so' from her best friend.

Jas is honest, sometimes painfully so. There's not much of a filter between her brain and mouth. She's gotten in trouble in the past, not only with the Navy but also in civilian life. She will blurt out the truth without thought of the consequences.

Jas has chemistry with everyone and identifies as pansexual, although the two have nothing to do with each other. She flirts with everyone but lays it on thick with Hangman because, well, she’s not blind, and have you seen the man?

Jas unintentionally teaches Dalia to swear because she forgets to hold her tongue around the kid.

At her core, Jas is confident but battles quite a few insecurities like not being good enough. This comes from her family’s disapproval of her decision to enlist, as if being a highly skilled doctor and surgeon isn’t enough.

Jas has a strong moral code and is known to put her career on the line to do what she believes is right. She disobeys direct orders and gets demoted because of it.

Jas reconsiders her 'do no harm' oath semi-regularly when servicemen are trying to show off and end up injured in her treatment room. She has even punched a few arms and aggressively stabbed them with needles only to say oops.

Caro and Jas work as friends because, as you mentioned, their tolerance for other people's bullshit is non-existent. Jas says 'why are men' daily, while Caro's skepticism has more to do with people as a whole.

In conclusion: I love them so much.

There was once a time Marie Kline had called Chrissy Cunningham a friend. Of course, that was the time before Chrissy began dating Marie's ex-boyfriend a mere twenty-three hours and forty-nine minutes after they'd broken up. Couldn't even wait the full twenty-four, she'd muttered bitterly under her breath. Marie and Jason never much liked each other towards the end – she'd been so distracted by the disappearance of her friend, Barb, and he, his... Whatever boys like Jason Carver cared about – but she'd at least expected him to extend the bare minimum of respect for what once was. She was gravely wrong.

And although she didn't much like Chrissy Cunningham anymore, either, she'd never wished death upon her. But death came as it so often did; unexpected, and ruinous. And the debris of Marie Kline's once happy and peaceful life – undone by her own hand when she'd handed her father, the mayor, over to the authorities – once again got turned upside down.

Marie hadn't expected the call. She thought her days of unravelling Hawkins' mysteries began and ended with the conspiracy and monster fight at Starcourt Mall. But when Steve Harrington called, she would never hesitate to answer. She owed him that.

But now, stuck in the boat house of some convicted pot dealer, Marie wished she hadn't answered. Because maybe then, she wouldn't be stuck babysitting the maybe-murderer and absolute menace that was Eddie fucking Munson. Maybe then, she wouldn't find herself doing anything and everything to keep him out of harm's way. Even if it meant putting herself in it.
