Yellow
by ANNE SAXTON
When they turn the sun
on again I'll plant children
under it, I'll light up my soul
with a match and let it sing. I'll
take my bones and polish them, I'll
vacuum up my stale hair, I'll
pay all my neighbors' bad debts, I'll
write a poem called Yellow and put
my lips down to drink it up, I'll
feed myself spoonfuls of heat and
everyone will be home playing with
their wings and the planet will
shudder with all those smiles and
there will be no poison anywhere, no plague
in the sky and there will be a mother-broth
for all of the people and we will
never die, not one of us, we'll go on
won't we?

Another random one from the collection: the Colin Saxton edition of Dragonsinger (Sidgwick & Jackson, 1977).
Sariel's Guide to Pern has a whole page dedicated to him (here), and while it's hard to find images of his work online now the old Pern Museum did have the colour version of this artwork.
It's only available on the Wayback Machine now: check it out here.
It's much easier to find photos of his cover art for Dragondrums (here), which was originally created as a poster for the World Science Fiction Convention in 1972 by Anne.

someone riding a bear O_O
two children dressed up like dolls
they said they were ‘Raggedy Ann and Andy'
they were quite cute :]
an orange lizard with a tail on fire
a panda

I accidentally made him sad :[

I like Halloween :]

THE DAY ENDS [PORTGAS D. ACE X READER]
[SUMMARY] "I'm in pain because the day is ending and somehow I am never healing." -Anne Saxton
[PRONOUNS] gender neutral
[GENRE] angst | hurt, no comfort
[POV] second person
[WORD COUNT] 314
[CONTENT] implied/referenced suicide | canonical character death | spoilers | post-marineford
The nightmares always, arrived, each night, without fail.
Your mind twisted the words you'd been given into grotesque pictures, not having witnessed it yourself. You couldn't decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing, in the end.
They always changed, shifted, inch by inch. The events always morphed into worse and worse images and words. Echoes of a past you longed to go back to rang in the back of your mind before being swallowed up by a rotting corpse and the knowledge that things would never go back to the way they used to be.
Unspoken love was a curse that had imprinted itself on your back like a target. Words unsaid, feelings tucked into treasure chest that were buried beneath mountains of sand and ashes, weighed down on you like chains.
Everything bad that could have happened had happened. Everything that could have gone wrong had gone wrong. There was no going back. There was no changing things.
The only sense of consolation you ever received was from knowing that you couldn't say he'd want you to be happy and move on; he hadn't know there was anything to move on from.
Staring at the choppy ocean waves that waited beneath you like a yawning grave, there was no feeling of peace. You knew you were weak, you knew that even though he hadn't known of your love, he wouldn't have wanted this for you.
It was just too much. The weight of your love, of your regrets, of your hatred, of your pain– it was all too much.
They nightmares wouldn't stop. They never stopped.
You didn't want to feel anything anymore.
Even if he wasn't waiting for you on the other side, you would be content in knowing that you wouldn't have another nightmare again.
You took a step and pretend you were falling into open arms.

The rain drums down like red ants,
each bouncing off my window.
The ants are in great pain
and they cry out as they hit
as if their little legs were only

Your courage was a small coal
that you kept swallowing.
If your buddy saved you
and died himself in so doing,
then his courage was not courage,
it was love; love as simple as shaving soap.
