Just an FYI, Google and Apple never labeled Palestine on their world maps. The claim that it was removed has been refuted for a while now. You might want to delete the post so as to not further the spread of disinfo.
Hi Anon,
Thanks for the tip. It is true that Palestine was never on Google maps. That doesn't change the fact that it needs to be on there because it is recognised by 136 members of the UN as an independent state (among other, more important reasons).
I agree that saying "put Palestine *back* on Google maps" is not 100% accurate and you're correct in saying that, therefore, it couldn't have been deleted (as it was never there in the first place), but I can't help but feel like we're mincing words here. (There's something to be said there about deletion by omission... but that's a longer conversation.)
There's been a petition to place Palestine on Google maps since March of this year, so far left unheard. Google swears up and down that they're working on it, but so far, we've seen nothing change.
With no malice, and no assumptions about your character, let me finally say that I hope you're putting as much energy into fighting misinformation spread about Palestine by the Israeli government as you are about Google maps.

Completely faithful book adaptation is impossible, there always will be changes. Whether or not book readers would like the adaptation depends on it offering something to enjoy about these changes.

Since you pointed it out in the European Statue post about casual nudity being seen as basically a sin against god in America, because that's puritan ideology. The Puritans basically settled America because Europe kicked them out for being deranged. Hence why deranged Americans are usually puritans and the normal ones aren't.
yes, I know this. But
At some point USAmericans have to stop blaming all of their nation's shortcomings on the Puritans. Like, yes, they were freaks in some ways, but in other ways they were very progressive. Watch this:
That's one thing.
Another thing is that the current "neopuritanism" of American society doesn't really *come* from the Puritans. It comes from Capital progressively filtering out content that is deemed "advertiser-unfriendly" that assumes the primary mass of consumers is middle class white boomers. These assumptions guide what's displayed in front of most mainstream audiences and therefore what said audiences consider "normal".
This is the cause of the TERF/anti-shipper/trad brainrots as well. The assumed lowest common denominator was allowed to choke out variety in art and prune away every outlier.
The fact that this has resulted in a sort of new version of Puritanism is convergent evolution more than it is regression, in my opinion.
Your problems aren't caused by a sect of hyper-religious peasants from 500 years ago. They are caused by Capital being allowed to dictate the rules of what is and isn't acceptable and viewable. They're caused by a set of assumptions guiding the decisions of marketing departments and the bean counters deciding advertising budgets.
Hope this helped.
