Why should antacids be taken after a meal?

Antacid means anti-acid, they are inorganic bases ( Ex: Tetracycline). Antacids are medicines that neutralize the acid in our stomach to relieve indigestion and heartburn.

Our stomach releases a large amount of hydrochloric acid (HCl) after taking a meal. So ultimately we should eat antacids after a meal because it is peak time for antacids to neutralize the stomach's gastric acid and relieve pain.
