September 2, 2023 - a San Francisco local disables a Cruise self-driving car. If you live in a place where Silicon Valley bullshit like driverless cars or autonomous delivery robots or doorbell cameras are becoming commonplace it might be a good idea to follow the example of this trendsetter and start carrying around a skimask and a hammer, just in case. You do not need to advertise using the train to me. You do not need to encourage me to use public transport. I already want to. I am desperate.
You DO need to make it so that the train is not 3-5x as expensive as driving. You do need to make it so I can get to the train station without driving and paying a zillion quid for parking. You do need to make it so that trains arrive regularly and at sensible times with connections. You do need to make journeys not take 6 times as long. You do need to make them accessible for those with disabilities. You need to pay your staff and drivers.
I don't know how I can be clearer. LET ME GET THE BUS AND TRAIN.

On aimait rouler.
- Virginie Despentes, Cher Connard, 2022

jesusfuck driving is exhausting. not even approaching this from an anti-car lens, just an "i'm autistic and i find the amount of processing power needed to drive for long periods of time exhausting". it really makes me appreciate walking and how positively stimulating it is to just be able to look up at the fucking clouds rather then constantly having to think "too much acceleration, too little acceleration, blinker, turn, red light, slow down gradually, DOG!"
i think being able to look up at the clouds when in motion is a human right actually and we need public transport so i guess this is an anti-car post after all

If you’ve been following my posts you know how I feel about all the stuff Filoni is doing with the Ahsoka show, so I needed something to cheer myself up and found this.
God I love this so much and my heart goes out to these clubbers.

“Supercars pollute too much and are too loud, they should be banned” there are less than 10 thousand supercars in the whole world, and I see one once every two or three months, if ever. However, I see one SUV every 10 seconds on the street and they’re never caked with dirt or mud like they should be, and are instead used like any regular sedan while being more polluting, way heavier, and consuming significantly more fuel with their gigantic engines. and there are millions of them. in this essay I will

i know that rights are a dead end, but if liberals insist on fighting on such terms, i think it’d be beneficial if they were steered from the whole ‘corporations aren’t people’/people over profit angle toward ‘cars aren’t people’/people over propulsion. dismantling jaywalking laws and such seems a lot easier of a task compared to dismantling all the laws that give corporations rights over people. probably a lot less money keeping it up too (tho surely still significant)
