Once again Tom Taylor writes Dick as the Nice Jokster by making him invalidate Dick's important connections. Dick has been involved in Bruce's love life. He feels with Bruce when Selina breaks up. He notices the romantic tension between them. So much so that he constantly gets used to validate BatCat in fandom and in canon! Dick was also there when Talia lived with Bruce. He was so up in Bruce's love life that he ran to Selina.
What is it about inter-character connections that Taylor hates so much? Why can there be no emotional beats? Why does Dick have to be flatter than a sheet of paper?
It's not "cool" to be involved in your mentor's love life and that's why Dick can't be, but he is. Dick cares so much. How much Dick cares about people is a huge if not the biggest part of his character and sometimes that care brings pain and conflict -- two words Taylor screeches at as if he's a vampire faced with a crucifix.

Nite-Wing should have been rebooted as Dick’s imp from the 5th Dimension. Nite-Mite is just a copypaste of Bat-Mite with Dick chibi visuals because every modern thing DC creates needs to be a derivative of a Batman concept.

Man, we'll really be free of Taylor and Redondo in time for Dick's 85th Anniversary.

Everytime one thinks Tom Taylor can't hit a new low, he does. It's incredible to see a male writer be so egoistical and self-obbsessed in 2024 and get praised for it because he's chasing clout by including social topics in his writing.

I just caught up to Wonder Woman and it hit me how much more Diana has done since Cloonrad took over the title compare to what Dick has done in Nightwing under Taylondo’s pen.
Diana has been out here since March last year saving the God’s Sphere, getting to know new people, reclaiming her old supporting cast and her old villains, while simultaneously setting up the big bad in the background.
Meanwhile Dick is stuck between Blüdhaven and Gotham, gets lovey-dovey with Babs (maybe), needs to be saved and has accomplished to build a Youth Center but is making no attempts to research that new villain running wild.
Like, Diana has run a mile and Dick has done one sluggish step forward. This is why I can’t take Taylor & Redondo’s Nightwing seriously. They just want to write a slice-of-life but without the drama, otherwise Melinda would have a personality right now.
It’s not that I love everything Cloonrad are doing, but at least they got the range. They have actual arcs that change in tone.

Can’t wait for Alfred to come back just so Taylor can squeeze him into Nightwing just to justify the dumb Blüdhaven Pennyworth statue.
Honestly, it’s about time for Alfred to come back because that’s how comic death works, but I didn’t miss him. I don’t think he adds anything to the current stories.
