I’ve been playing a lot of pixel games recently so I wanted to try my hand at making a plausible room for a pretend pixel game. This is my first big pixel art thing, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! I’ve made little characters and such before but not like environments. It was very meditative for me.

Steve McGarrett's hiring practices are unbelievably funny
he hired Danny away from HPD, effectively against Danny's will
then he hired Chin, who had resigned from the HPD in disgrace - undeserved disgrace, yes, but most of the force still believed him to be a thief
hired Kono before she even finished at the police academy
hired Jenna basically because she was also chasing Wo Fat, plus she saved Danny that one time
hired Catherine because. well. she was his girlfriend and needed a job. and like, also, she had quite a skillset, but she was... not in law enforcement
hired Jerry, who was just like. literally a conspiracy theorist living in his mom's basement. he had some useful knowledge and is a good researcher, but again, he doesn't know anything about law enforcement lmao
hired Lou, twice-moderately-disgraced former SWAT captain
hired Tani, police academy dropout
hired Junior, Navy SEAL, but inexplicably told him he had to complete academy training first. even though several other team members, including Steve himself, had not done so.
hired Adam, son of a late Yakuza boss, whose only 'experience' with law enforcement was in escaping the Yakuza lifestyle and being married to Kono
he has also extended job offers to several other characters who had no law enforcement experience - mostly people he knew through the Navy, iirc
now in fairness, it's not like American police training really amounts to much. from a quick google search, the Hawaiian academy is generally a six-month course, which is longer than a lot of states' training, but still. Steve is... not consistent in what he requires from his employees upon hiring.
