Butch/Femme/neither/other poll!

I see so many posts that seem to imply that butch/femme is an either/or: you identify as either one or the other. And it just sits wrong with me; I never have, and enforced binaries just make me roll my eyes. Not sure if it's an age/generational thing, or a cultural or regional thing, so here's my poll!

Please group "soft butch/femme" and other not-quite-at-the-far-end-of-the-scale identifications in with butch or femme, and not with "neither/other".

Please leave the "neither/other" option for people who reject this binary, who are both or neither, who identify as something entirely outside that scale, etc etc.

Also, feel free to talk about your experience/take on it in the tags!

First things first, thank you so much for voting, reblogging, liking, following, and sending in requests. This blog passed 250 followers this week, which is very cool. It is so fun to see how you guys vote, and going through your requests has been a great way to learn a little more about wrestlers that I'm often not super familiar with. My pinned post has been updated with links to the results table and a CSV for my fellow spreadsheet nerds.

Thank you also for being cool about my request regarding violent tags. I haven't had to block anyone yet, and I hope it stays that way.

As for this week's polls, it is VERY amusing to me that you all prefer regular Kane to Corporate Kane by 31 points. That is a LOT. Corporate Kane scored lower than The Boogeyman, who will probably always be my yardstick for smashability. Are you doing better than The Boogeyman? Then you can't be doing too badly.

Around 1/4 of you are clown fuckers! Sinn Bodhi scored 27.3% smash, while a couple weeks ago, Doink the Clown scored 28.3% smash.

Wheeler Yuta tied Orange Cassidy, with both of them getting 77.1% smash. OC received more votes overall (and therefore more smash votes). Looks like Best Friends truly is the most fuckable faction.

Max Caster got 59.2% smash to Anthony Bowens' 74.8%. I'm curious to see how they do as a pair, and what happens when Billy Gunn enters the arena.

The Ultimate Vriska Showdown

Hi, everyone! After a few delays, here is the final bracket for my Vriska poll! This poll asks for the "most iconic Vriska." What "iconic" means is up to the individual voter.

If you didn't see the nomination post, a Vriska-archetype character is defined as follows:

To encourage a greater variety of characters, I changed requirement 4 to "queer" instead of strictly "attracted to women." I also allowed characters who didn't fill either requirements 1 or 4 to be in the poll, as those requirements were less important in defining a "Vriska" than requirements 2, 3, and 4.

The first round will be up on February 21st at 8 AM PST. I'll be making a separate post with all the links to polls to not clutter up this one. The links to the masterpost for each round are listed below, and will be updated throughout the poll.

Disclaimer on the poll:

I, the creator of this poll, haven't interacted with about a third of the franchises listed in the roster. What I know about the characters, franchises, and the creators are from Tumblr osmosis or what the people who nominated the characters told me.

While the characters being controversial is part of the poll, I am aware there is controversy surrounding some franchises or creators, a lot of which I probably don't know about. Including these characters in the poll despite this is not an endorsement or condemnation of the franchises of creators.

I will try not to participate in any discourse that pops up about the characters in the polls themselves, though i may occasionally post about it using the "#vriska poll" tag. However, I will be keeping an eye on the notes to make sure no one is being bigoted or threatening. this tournament has been a big thing on my mind for OVER A MONTH STRAIGHT, ive gone through MANY emotions because of it lately and ive been trying to be nice and fun but honestly? people can be really fucking annoying on this website, actually!

that ship was included because i was being lenient and nice and thought it was fun even though i didnt think those characters actually interacted once considering i had to genuinely edit two very different quality images together just for their ship image. yknow what criteria i had for letting ships in? 1. they didnt date or marry in canon! 2. they werent a minor/major! and 3. no incest! anyone else was fine! sure, a lot of them maybe didnt fit the definition of why i made this tournament but i thought i had a pretty clear idea from the start what ships would make it to the finale anyway, and all of them did fit the definition!

I just want to thank you for pointing out some of the negativity on the weirdly intense polls. Seriously, the suicide baiting and the “anyone who voted for ___ deserves to die” rhetoric should be called out more. Especially on things like this that are meant to be silly and fun and not at all serious. (also it helps me block everyone taking that far and I never have to experience their negativity again!)

Discourse about what exactly? The polls? That was gonna be my only post regarding the silliness of the poll issue.

I prefer to tag my posts thoroughly so that if I'm talking about a subject people prefer not to see, they can block the tag pertaining to it. That recent post wasn't vague enough for me to tag it sparsely. I go into depth with it.

With more inflammatory things, I've been trying to just not post about them, so I'm sorry to have caused a stir. I don't exactly see the correlation between my posts being tagged and people stalking fans, but I'll be avoiding discourse.
