I know I changed Keiki's design a little while back. But it never felt quite right pattern wise. So I went back and made some changes. The palette is basically the same. He's the same happy lad. :3

Just went through with it. xD #And don't get me started on the color blend of his torso and lower half #Kinda like the idea above; but it may get tweaked. Again. ngl, the more I think about it, the more I feel conflicted over how people sexualize my characters.

On the one hand, it would be silly to deny that I don't go out of my way to create aesthetically pleasing/attractive characters because I love to draw what I enjoy, and I love it when people simp for them.

But on the other hand, sometimes it does bother me that people are so fixated on sex and their own arousal that they miss important lore/plot information that I get a bit frustrated

#txt #i dont really mind that people missed the fact that powers had horns but i do have issues with people thinking the scene would lead up to #sex??? lili had a very clearly shocked face but people were expecting them to just. have sex and fall in love #twitter and instagram is pretty respectful to my works but i think webtoons and especially tiktok (good lord tiktok) is where people are #just. like they're not even paying attention because they wanna fuck my ocs lol #its a lot of work to try to give these incredibly short comics decent pacing and dialogue and it sucks when people ignore gestures or #verbal communication because they saw powers muscled chest and went 'oh yeah. its sex time'#i started posting my bugtopia comics to tiktok and these people are so goddamn obsessed with sexualizing everything that i read comments #where people were expecting arachne to peg her FOUR YEAR OLD SON #and its like. hey guys. im glad you enjoy my work but i dont like how you cannot perceive my characters as anything #but something to whack off to #anyways i dont see myself discussing this on twitter because unfortunately people have 0 fucking reading comprehension lol #to this day i get rude messages accusing me of hating people who enjoy lesbian media or finding my characters hot #because i asked people to not call me a fucking f*ggot when i draw to men kissing

At the end of the day you can use "Varric is an unreliable narrator" to overwrite literally any part of DA2 that you don't like. Like you can say, "Oh of COURSE Varric isn't actually against mage freedom! He just said that he objected to Hawke freeing the mages because Cassandra was interrogating him." And sure, I can't prove to you that he isn't lying about that. I can't prove to you that Varric isn't lying about anything. I can't prove to you that the entirety of Inquisition isn't also Varric making things up because he did also write a book about that and we hear Cassandra reading it in the end credits. At the end of the day if you want to you can basically wipe out Varric's entire character as presented to us and say, "Actually he was lying! He's really this."

But at a certain point you do also have to acknowledge that the frame narrative is a storytelling device that's meant to enhance the story, not like... erase it. Or at least I prefer to acknowledge that, because going too far the other way basically guts the story of all meaning. If Varric is a character we are meant to engage with on any level--and I think it's clear from his prominence in the franchise that he is!--then at least some of what we see him say and do needs to be able to meaningfully interpreted, even if we second-guess him, even if we can pick out half-truths here and there, even if we cross-check our interpretations against how he behaves in other parts of canon.

Like at least some of what we're given about Varric has to be meaningful to his character, or why even bother, I guess is what I'm saying.

#somewhat said i wasn't giving him enough credit in my meta post about how starry eyed he is about pro-templar hawke #that we can't take his objections to freeing the mages at face value #and i mean i guess you can say that but you can say that about literally anything he says in da2 #face remains he's still starry-eyed about hawke no matter what #fact remains his approval follows hawke no matter what #and yes he's also friends with anders! don't mistake loyalty for agreement #it's a thing with a lot of these characters #see also aveline #anyway!#gwaren exports #i guess!#i'm not trying to be salty here but i just don't agree with the premise #dragon age stuff #blunders of thedas #please don't go digging and argue with anyone on my behalf btw #their comments were in the tags i assume they weren't looking for a fight #i just saw them and had feelings

#madalena #galavant #if they had gone through the richard love interest route that'd have been very not interesting and they could've also just made her the #bitch character which would've made me so mad #but they give her backstory! complexity!!! < 3 #I used to be doubtful about the maybe you're not the worst thing ever scene and thought that may be them considering richard x madalena but #later changing their mind (which idk if true)#but now I think it's great bc it has her opening up a bit when he's talking to her as a person and on their own rather than trying to push #any romance #and then she closes back up when he starts doing that again and we see her sad face after 'being forced to be the bad guy'#it's a great way to show pre- kidnapping madalena and show she's not one or the other she's both #anyway #LIKE madalena has trauma the way a traditional male hero would have trauma if that makes any sense

So i had a dream last night which wasn't a nightmare and i even remember most of it! which is super exciting. I barely ever remember dreams that are just simply that so this is a fairly rare occasion for me.

It was weird tho

But it was.. i don't even know what it was so let me ramble about it in the tags a bit

#there was this bioluminescent and also biotoxic creature in a city at night #it was bipedal sort of humanoid shaped but with definitive deep sea features #it had that transparent skin and flesh and body with bioluminescing highlights #which i have no idea how it worked because the entire dream took place in a city enviroment on very much dry land but it's a dream innit #the face was definitely not human more a jumble of fishy features #it was gorgeous btw in a humanoid monster sort of fascinating way #it had this weird feel to it that it's something very old that should not be here now.. some sort of reminiscence of a bygone era #i might try to draw it but i don't know how successful i'd be to be honest #anyway so i was part of a group (don't know what kind exactly) and i never seen any of them i just knew they existed #and there was this innate knowledge that the creature was kind of hunting or more like luring us but we also were hunting it #i don't know if it did something to us before or we just had this unexplainable pull towards it but we definitely were fixated on it #and it was supposed to be a big threat even just by existing and walking around but also would have been bad if it was dead #but i don't know why was it so bad because the “toxicity” of the creature wasn't lethal it just made you stuck in a blissful delirious stat #just by being too close to it and which in most cases would fade when it moved away so the other alternative felt way worse #cuz if it would die something else would have gotten loose which would have been worse than the delirium #it was some sort of unstoppable deadly madness i think.. at least that was what i felt the dream eluded to #and i think we wanted to neutralize it somehow but we had no idea how to avoid disaster that surely would come if it dies #but it would have also revitalize nature on a basically divine scale by giving it's body back to it so there was this dilemma the whole tim #but none of us would have any answers so we just followed this inner draw regardless of the uncertainty #and the entire dream was basically us lureing the creature somewhere but simultaniously it was somehow luring us in as wel #to the same spot #it was a vast moonlit fieald outside of city bounds surrounded with tall dark trees and the sky was littered with stars #and a sharp cliff to one side #so we arrived there and we were standing on opposite sides and look towards each other #but looking into the creatures eyes literally woke me up #there was a noise it made and i know i understood it as words inside the dream but i can't remember what it was after waking just the noise #and that was it #it wasn't long i think tho it felt that way

honestly the funniest part about the quodo kiss blooper is that kira had like no reaction to it. it just made so much sense that even she just stood there and watched it happen
