I have a (horrendously pink) Instax Mini, but should I have enough spending cash (or repeat the excellent saga of said Instax Mini where I found a heavily discounted one on walmart's site and it and the accessories for it was the exact amount in price of the two giftcards I had saved so I essentially got it for free) I would like an Instax printer so I can print my phone's photos over wifi.

Not me (finally) buying a physical copy of 2005's Pride & Prejudice because I don't trust streaming companies to not take away whatever digital version I might purchase.

all pokemon games are good but they are not all equally as good

#pokemon#as a person who has played pretty much every main pkmn game in some capacity#i can find things in them that are worth praise#but like obviously they can't all be the same level of good. there are so many factors to a pkmn game to be balanced#some have a great region. some have a great story. some have just a solid gameplay experience. all of them have great music lol#i could even play devil's advocate and praise bdsp for being a truly faithful remake and pretty incredible for a studio first Real game#but mainly i keep thinking like. everyone has shat on the new pkmn games ever since gen 5 especially#but then over time people are like Huh they aren't so bad after all#like once you get out of the gamehate wormhole generated by inflammatory social media posting you can appreciate a thing more#and there may still be people out there who think red/blue are the best ones. and y'know they have a point#even though objectively those games were littered with bugs to the point where some normal mechanics were not correct#and things just got more complicated and sophisticated with abilities and new types and better moves and stuff#the original games are absolute Miracles to have been made at all and for what they're worth they were Revolutionary#it was a simpler time but the ideas put forth were still pretty complex. especially considering this was the First One#this is the foundation all pokemon games thereafter rose from. and it's a pretty solid foundation despite all the hardships#anyway. i love pokemon. and i love that even after all this time - over 25 years - its spirit from back in 96 still remains in some form#it may not be about catching em all anymore. because physically that's really hard to do with over 1000 guys now#but it's still about finding joy in following a dream of adventure with a bunch of cool animal friends#and sometimes you save the world a little bit. that's p cool

Rant incoming concerning fatphobia:
I find it superrrr vexing and distasteful whenever someone threatens me with the 'do you want to become fat' thing. I understand that since my natural body frame is being thin, it'd indicate bad things for my health if I do become fat (if you're naturally born big, then getting bigger probably won't mean anything too bad) but I just deeply resent the underlying implication of it all. Like ofc it's better for me in a societal sense to be thin, especially since I don't have a thick skin to negative comments at all, but like?? If you want to scold me in order to make me eat more healthily, just cite health reasons! There's literally no reason to bring up fatness!! What's everyone's deal?? Is it a crime to be fat?? Smh 💀
Some ppl act as if ppl automatically become ugly when they're fat which is just blatantly untrue. And in the first place I'm not even particularly good-looking so it's not gonna be the end of my world if I get bigger. Ofc if being fat negatively affects me physically and/or mentally then I think those are good causes for concern but at least lead with that if you're truly concerned about me for god's sake

FINALLY starting to feel a little better about christmas though i only have two things on me and one thing ordered BUT i got a list of books from my mom so i can order those when i order the cookbook for my sister in law and my mom also mentioned something my sister wants that i could get, gonna do most of the kids' shopping on friday, still need ideas for my nephew and godson though, plus i have general ideas for my dad and brother lol you guys are getting gift cards and a little something else bc you are too difficult for me to shop for ANYWAY like i am going to make progress in the coming days so it's fine
#it really is crazy how it's such a joyous time as a kid and as an adult i'm like oh my god i'm tired#i feel like one thing that makes me and my brother easier is keeping lists of cds and dvds we want (and books for me idt he reads much)#so we always have ideas to give my mom and hey if anyone else asks it's a huge list like they're welcome to it#that's how i'm gonna pick something for my brother since he sent my mom his list#and this time i asked my mom for her book list though i've taken her cd list to get the hard to find stuff off discogs or ebay before#but yeah i think especially bc a lot of the people don't want physical media taking up space that kind of stuff isn't an option#omg like my cousin's wife commented on my cousin having too many cds and like you don't need them if they're digitized#like um yeah if your hard drive crashes and you lose your whole library you want those physical copies!#and i know my sister in law has said the same thing about my brother who i do know has a TON of cds but like#again you don't wanna lose that shit#l have gotten rid of some cds recently but it's older stuff that i generally don't pick out anymore#still fun to listen to but i'm okay with just having it on itunes#anyway i love physical media
