idk it feels more like rp blogs are more meant to be places you dump info abt characters and less places to interact with others anymore. I mean I do write exclusively female ocs or heavily canon divergent they may as well be ocs, which we all know is at the very bottom of the barrel, no matter how many positivity posts go around, which colors my experience. I'm just tired of doing all the reaching, yk? Sending a million memes and getting none sent back. Writing opens that get ignored, writing starters that get less than 10 notes, posting plot and starter calls and getting crickets. It's exhausting, and my cocktail of mental illness makes it particularly draining.

Note
for the lets talk anime; ALL THE QUESTIONS
1. best anime you’ve watched
House of Five Leaves. It has so good character writing and the only flaw that it doesn't cover everything in the manga which is even better.
I'd also put House of Five Leaves as an answer for 4, 13 & 25, but I feel really weird talking about such a weird-looking unpopular anime on a blog like this so I'll pick a second favourite or something. But if you're one of the ten people who saw and liked it I'd love to chat about it!
4. least favorite character from your favorite anime
I remember really despising one of Ahiru's friends in Princess Tutu, I think it was the blonde haired one. I found her behaviour unbearably condescending rather than funny or charming. Though it's been like a decade since I saw it so who knows what I'd think of her now.
4. (was there two number fours?) best ending of an anime you’ve watched
Princess Tutu's was a fitting end to the story and had a really uplifting theme.
5. worst ending of an anime you’ve watched
Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero. It was such a copout!
6. favorite opening sequence
Attack on Titan OP1, or One Piece Brand New World.
7. top anime you plan to watch
I hope to manage to watch the Attack on Titan stuff that's out so far before the final season airs.
8. first anime you’ve ever watched
Excluding stuff that was presented as kids' cartoons rather than "anime" specifically, Angelic Layer. I think it was a good one to start with and I really should rewatch it!
9. lastest anime you’ve watched
Machikado Mazoku.
12. most underrated character
The Past Princess Precure in Go!Pri. I wish there was more art of them... I suppose I should try being the change I want. Though I just went to tagged/ and search/ for them and most of the content there was already me...
13. favorite one shot (1 season) anime
The Usagi Drop anime is such a cute feel-good series with a charming and soft art style. It's good that the story ended there and no further plot developments made it really stupid!
14. favorite completed (multi seasoned) anime
I have major problems with Yuuki Yuuna is a hero, but it wins just for the fact that I still have overall positive feelings towards it and its only competition here is Clannad which I definitely won't pick. It was really shocking how few multi season anime I've seen, but usually it's more like if I like the first season I just jump straight to the source material manga and never bother to go back to the anime when new seasons come out.
15. favorite on going series
The only ongoing series I'm currently "watching" is Star Twinkle Precure, but I'm still at episode 3 so I don't want to pick it as a favourite... (it turns out I can only watch only one Precure at a time and this year it has been Fresh). Or I do plan to watch all of Attack on Titan because I love the manga but I'm still at episode 2 of season 1, but since the final season hasn't come out does it count...?
16. anime you wish had another season
Definitely Magical Girl Raising Project, I'd love to see the rest of the story animated, but most importantly I wish there was more fandom activity for it.
17. anime that didn’t deserve more seasons but got them anyways
I have shows that I hate, but I don't think that means anything when it comes to whether they "deserve" to exist.
19. favorite hero
If we're talking superheroes, definitely Kotetsu from Tiger&Bunny. What a wonderful moe-oyaji.
22. any endings that you would rewrite
I don't really have problem with how Tiger&Bunny ended per se, but I thought the execution was kinda bad. Like the individual plot points were ok, but I felt the show just ran through them and left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth. So I wish it could have had some extra episodes to tell the same material.
23. characters that deserved better
The international Precure in HapiCha!
25. best relationship between characters in your favorite anime
The four main characters in Princess Tutu have such a well written web of unique relationships.
27. which anime universe would you like to live in/be a part of
Same answer as for (26).
30. favorite anime you’d recommend
Not a huge fan of broad questions like this, like what kind of stuff is this hypothetical person I'm recommending to enjoy? I think that suggesting that my favourite is so amazing that everyone regardless of taste should like is it the worst kind of shoving-your-preferences-down-other-people's-throat kind of fandom behaviour.
31. anime to stay away from
Well I hate DokiDoki Precure so...
32. most overrated anime in your opinion
I don't really like the term 'overrated' because it implies that there's something wrong with other people enjoying something I don't like and it sounds really smug and arrogant to me. Like I'm definitely not above feeling smug if a popular series I hate loses popularity or annoyed if a ship or character I despise keeps winning polls, but I try to keep in mind how much this is just my own problem and regulate my own online experience.
33. most underrated anime in your opinion
Can't really thing of anything else than House of Five Leaves here, I love it but it totally tanked.
34. anime you’re looking forward to
Attack on Titan final season. It covers the part of the manga that I've been following as it comes out so it feels more personal to me, and it's going to have the scenes that I'm most invested in.
36. least favorite animation style
The infantilising "high schoolers try to look cute in the same way toddlers are" moeblob style.

Fanfiction Writer Asks
Fuck it, I’ll do it myself, because I know I can’t count on you nerds to actually ask anything. :p
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
I really don’t know. I’ve been writing creatively since I was like 6. I don’t really remember writing for fandom until Pokémon, but I’ve been in fandom since the original Sailor Moon and Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers.
 2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
I guess the Yogscast. Except I only really like a few of them, and it sure as shit isn’t the main channel people. I haven’t found a new obsession because I can’t sit still for tv anymore, and I’m a patient gamer/reader. So once I find something I like, it’s probably old and everyone’s already moved on.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
OCs. I am boring, shy (and thus no fun), and quite good at ruining the moment.
 4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Action/Adventure. Fight scenes. Getting out of dire as fuck situations. Underdogs.
 5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
I have so many… XP I guess a story I wrote in called Royal Infamy. It was literally hundreds of pages long, spanned at least 4 different fandoms, and could’ve been a standalone series if I just changed the names. Unfortunately it’s been lost to the ooooolllllddddd (and I mean 2001) internet. I like to think that maybe it’s on some ancient server, saved by those sorts of people who try to archive the entire internet and have literal exabytes of hoarded data. It was also how I met my SO of 13 years.
 6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
A Prince of Persia fic. I don’t even like Prince of Persia.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
I never get as much inspiration as when it’s 1am and I’m supposed to be going to bed like a normal person. But never at a normal hour in the evening unless I’m inspired at work and have to rush home before I forget.
 8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
It used to be from all the anime I used to watch, now it’s cobbled together from fantasy books and video games.
 9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
Like erotic fic? Eeeh. I’m so terrible at it that I literally only have one, I’m writing it right now, I’m not finished, and I don’t particularly like it because I keep subconsciously writing away from the part where they hold hands because I’m conflicted and discomforted by the whole thing, to be honest. Like, even when I was adolescent and supposed to be thirsty as teenagers are, I just wasn’t and couldn’t. My ex tried to get me to write something for him, and I still couldn’t do it. *shrug* It doesn’t help that I’ve never been big on shipping. …Those characters sure are standing next to each other, yep.
 10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
Hahah… endings. That’s good. (Also see previous question.)
 11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Not that I can recall, unless you count ‘stop doing that thing’, ‘okay’ *does it more*
 12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Rythian. Fuckin’ edgelord. Just everything about him and his OC is *kisses fingers*.
 13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
Unfortunately Rythian is usually entangled with other people from the Yogscast. :p
 14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx?
Current project doesn’t even have a title, that’s how non-committed I am to it (she says even though it’s fast approaching a novelette.)
 15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
If it’s an OC of a particular universe, there’s probably a naming convention, and I go by many names. If it’s just generic freestanding story, I keysmash and pick through it until it rolls off the tongue.
 16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
Classic ‘rivals who hide their sexual tension behind their distaste for one another.’
 17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
“I haven’t seen your face since when you first came back from The End. And the … incident with trying to rid you of your curse.” He chuckled. “I’ve actually seen a lot more than your scars.”
 18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Like 75% of my work is abandonware. I have ADHD, I get bored, and I usually take so long, the fandom “dies” before I can finish. And the moment is gone.
 19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
Royal Infamy. And make it mine this time.
 20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
Probably Royal Infamy.
 21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
Ilona Andrews. Her style is exactly what I aim for. …Okay maybe not the monster fucking, but the rest of it. Exciting, tense, a little bit scary.
 22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
The Prince of Persia fic. The first draft of the erofic. The weeb crack.
 23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
Silence. My brain goes 100% towards analyzing music and then I can’t focus on anything else.
 24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Eeeeeeehhhhhh *whines* I don’t wanna…
 25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Nope. I don’t write that kind of pain.
 26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
The part where these two people who’ve tried to murder each other could even reasonably be in each other’s presence, let alone fuck. Also eternal hatred for evasive genital description brought on by a broken, puritan society.
 27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I should start making outlines. My current three projects keep going off the rails.
 28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
To go in with no expectations of people ever responding let alone giving feedback to anything. You’re just tossing shit in a hole and for every ton, one flower might grow.
 29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
I did a thing about how Lalnable Hector created Echo, and *crickets*.
 30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Twenty years later, I still get emails about a fic I wrote about Birdy the Mighty (C-tier anime about a dead boy soul-sharing an intergalactic cop’s body.)
 31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec not the answerer)
-
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Other than putting slivers of wish fulfillment in, no.
 33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
Someone found a fic I wrote in two weeks in an archive over 20 years old and sent me kudos. Like, that shit should’ve been buried. But they found it.
 34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
Mary Sue. And you’re goddamn right she was. And I’ll fucking do it again.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
Nope, not for fear or anything, I just don’t think to share before it’s done because I’ll probably abandon it anyway.
 36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
You’ll be unsatisfied with the ending.
 37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
You fucking made me open one of my old Gundam Wing crack fics to check. Now I don’t know because I’m still cringing.
 38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
*shrug* Like… I haven’t done a collab in *checks calendar* 17 years. I don’t have any live fandoms. I’m not big on trying to meld with other people’s styles.
 39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
Third.
 40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
No.
 41) What’s your favourite minor character you’ve written?
Can’t think of one. I usually don’t have minor/background characters?
 42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.
…Okay, now I seriously can’t tell if xxx means erotic or a particular example. 😐 Anyway, I for some reason lost the ability to link songs to fics/personalities. I just don’t think of any particular person when I hear a song and vice-versa.
 43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
That would imply enough people cared.
 44) What is the last line you wrote?
Despite the queen pushing him, he couldn’t move even if he wanted to (which he didn’t.)
 45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
If I don’t fucking do this it’s going to bother the fuck out of me for weeks, even if I don’t finish. Just get it on paper so it goes away.
 46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
More action and intrigue.
 47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?
 -
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
The antagonist finds the protagonist’s berserk button and realizes that maybe they should not have pushed it.
 49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
I can’t remember fics I wrote. And shit, that was at least 23 years ago. (She says even though she can perfectly remember her first fantasy novel 30 years ago. (The Gammage Cup))
 50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Angst. I think. I’ve gotten good feedback from my more serious stuff.

February 2018 Fic Roundup
For the month of February I am attempting to do the thing where I am punctual in posting my end of month roundup post. This got really long and I’m not sorry, but it’s all going under a cut anyways. It was a big month for me.
If you want to know what’s coming in March, here’s my calendar. It’s up to date. I promise.
Oneshots
So it was the month of February and that meant that the big driving force behind everything was Femslash. I wanted to really work with pairings that I hadn’t touched before, and there were a couple of events that I was more than happy to participate in.
Freelancers Don’t Cry  - [Ao3]
Freelancers don’t cry- especially in the locker room where anyone can see them. South knows this, but Connie is new and could probably use a guide. South is happy to provide.
This is the fic that made me realize just how much I actually love Agent South Dakota and Agent Connecticut. it was just a lot of fun to write and I liked being able to weave in little bits of foreshadowing for how things would go in the future for our Freelancers. Also, South’s internal dialogue was fun as all hell to write.
Hotter Than The Sun - [Ao3]
There are lot of things about Blood Gulch that are kind of awful. It's always hot and gross, and 90% of the people there suck.
The other 10%? In Kai's opinion- that's Tex, and she's always hot.
Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely love writing Kaikaina Grif? Or that she’s 100% the most fun character to write for? No? Well she is and I love writing her point of view because of just how much there is to play with in how she thinks and talks alone. This fic? I like this fic. I hope you guys like this fic too.
Bloom and Grow- [Ao3] [FFN]
With the ashes of war settled, Blake is finally able to come home. The only problem is that she has no idea what to do with her future now that she’s done fighting. Ilia can help.
Catmeleon week was this month! RWBY5 did quite a bit with Ilia and Blake both, and the plot involving Menagerie was actually pretty interesting. I was left wondering what things might look like for its future once everything in Remnant calmed down. There was conveniently a prompt for that.
From Square One- [Ao3] [FFN]
Ever since the incident at Vale's docks, Weiss knows that she's been tiptoeing around Blake's presence. It's time to fix that, and some honesty is a good place to start.
You know what was also in the month of February? Monochrome Week! One of the periods in the timeline of RWBY that I never really knew how to deal with was that awkward time just following the ending of Season 1. It was a nice chance to dabble in that time period and play with some of the things that we see come later in Blake and Weiss’ canon relationship. All in all, it was a lot of fun to work on.
Elegance- [Ao3]
Agent South Dakota is really the person least suited to go on a mission at some uptight party. Really, this isn't something that she belongs in at all. Carolina's better suited for the job. They just have to get in, get out, and try not to leave too much of an impression.
This should be easy.
This was probably my overall favorite fic that I wrote for femslash february. The story was one that was just stuck in my head for several days before I added it to my official roster and got started on it. I can genuinely say that there wasn’t a single moment where I didn’t enjoy writing the story or the way that things were coming out in the final product. I’m just really happy with it.
Multichapter Fics
As far as February of 2018 has gone, the things that I’m working on in the multi-chapter category have been a little bit more than a surprise. The month ended up feeling like it was productive on an almost unprecedented level, even though my output was probably about the same. For all three of my multichapter fics, I saw them either closing their third acts, or major changes happening in their plots, or changes in structure or something which to me has been very real.
So here’s looking forward to March.
Evening Report - [Ao3] [FFN] [Fic Tag]
Blake Belladonna has one job in her life, and its to provide accurate information in a timely manner. A relatively mundane story is all that it takes to throw her into direct contact with Weiss Schnee, whose family secrets could make or break Blake’s career as a journalist.
Chapter 13/30: black and blues -  [Ao3] [FFN]
A quick trip to the airport and a sleepover help clear up a lot of the more fine points of Weiss' current arrangement.
Chapter 14/30: play the game -  [Ao3] [FFN]
A new player enters the game.
So the first thing that you might notice looking at this is that there is finally a stated ending point for this fic. The month of February kind of breezed by with this fic and I was mostly tying up loose ends where I was in the story. I finished writing the epilogue chapter last night! The update schedule will be staying the same.
Published this month was only the halfway point for the story. There is still much, much more to come and my hope is that you all like where this goes and where it will eventually end up.
Currently Writing: Nothing. This fic is in the editing and updating only stage of its existence.
Next Chapter: Chapter 15 - March 9th. Chapter 16 - March 23.
The Bones of a God - [Ao3] [FFN] [Fic Tag]
Once upon a time, monsters roamed the entire world, so plentiful that they needed countless numbers to fight them off. 13 years ago, that changed. Grimm died off suddenly and stopped proliferating. Now the few Creatures of Grimm that are left are too large and powerful to be taken down in “the old ways.”
That doesn’t make them any less of a threat.
The real problem comes when people decide it’s for the best that they start picking sides in a war starting anew
Chapter 33/?: Into The Woods - [Ao3] [FFN]
In the woods, anything can happen.
Chapter 34/?: Special Interests - [Ao3] [FFN]
Unexpected meetings occur all around.
I’ve talked about this fic to some extent and what’s happening with it, and there’s actually quite a lot that I need to go over in a formal setting. For simplicity’s sake, I’ve decided to present this information to you in the form of a numbered list.
I am expecting to be finishing writing Bones Book 1 by the end of March, with it clocking in at around 50 chapters in total. The update schedule is going to remain the same until Evening Report finishes publishing. After that, the story will return to weekly status.
The fic currently posted is going to be renamed at a later date to “The Bones of a God - Book One: Ichor” and will be made the first part of a series because this is going to be the best way to split the story up and will allow me to make some changes.
After Book One is finished, I am going to start writing a story that takes place 20 years before the events of the story’s start. This is going to focus on a cast of five characters when they were younger. Those characters will be the adult POV characters present in Book Two. Five chapters in total, will be posted after Book One is finished posting.
I have started the planning of Book Two to some degree. Once I’m ready to start work on it, I’m going to do just that.
Currently Writing: Chapter 47 out of what I’m expecting to be a 50 chapter fic.
Next Chapters: Chapter 35 - March 2nd. Chapter 36 - March 16. Chapter 37 - March 30
always at your six -  [Ao3] [Fic Tag]
The Mother of Invention went down barely a year ago, and the time in between has been rough for York and Delta. It’s been tough for Tex too, but she has information, and she needs someone to help her get some things before someone can beat her to it.
It’s a good thing York’s out of work.
Chapter 2/?: sympathetic - [Ao3]   Tex, York, and Delta move forward on their mission- starting with some grand theft..
This fic has been consistently a lot of fun to work on for me, and the first one with a soundtrack type playlist that I can actually listen to on repeat without getting bored with it. I’ve had to change a lot of things though on my end, so I’m currently writing the first interlude chapter for this fic. I’m considering amping up my update schedule to twice a month, but haven’t made a real decision yet.
The main thing to know is that the scope of what this was supposed to be has gotten blown out of the water and also that I love Agent South Dakota.
Currently Writing: Interlude One - South Dakota. To be posted after chapter 5 in the story. Main story has reached the end of Chapter 9. Will write Chapter 10 and Interlude Two after Interlude One is complete.
Next Chapters: Chapter 3 - March 22.
Prompts and Tumblr Only
The Scrap Blog saw its updates on the seventeenth of the month as planned. Chapters 3-4/20 in the Emercury Stripper AU “things in the dark” are now available for reading. The masterpost for that fic can be found here.
There was also an old North Dakota/York fic I wrote several months back posted there. Tristesse.
Arrowhead - A Pyrrha/Cinder Drabble that I wrote for... some reason.

Fanfic Writer Asks
[SOURCE: criminal-minds-fanfiction: Most of the writer ask posts I come across are only like ten or so questions long so I thought I’d try to make a longer one because we like talking about our writing! Feel free to reblog!]
I got this from @wickedobsessed101 and copied and pasted the questions so I can fit my own answers too. You can find the post I got from them here.
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction? I started around 2011, so I was around 13 years old at the time.
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one? I am currently writing for The Owl House fandom, but I am intending on broadening my scope to She-Ra as well as Lord of the Rings, Zelda, and ATLA bc gay fantasy brain go brrr.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer. I prefer to write original characters myself. Y/N stuff is not exactly my forte. It gives me more control as to how I know the characters will act depending on their own characterization and backstory.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for? I actually really prefer to write really tense stuff, despite my misleading username. I live for the conflict of the moment and it does lean into some pretty angsty stuff sometimes. I mean, look at Soul Bound. However, I also do like writing light-hearted comedies as well as some fluff whenever I can get around to it. My heart yearns and so too must the romantic tension.
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi-chaptered stories, which would it be and why? I really only have one that is published, but it is definitely the one that I do like the most. Soul Bound was originally a story that was going to stand on its own. It was set in a world that I created meticulously from the ground up, taking inspirations from Lord of the Rings, Legend of Zelda, ATLA among other things. I do have other multi-chapter projects in the works that I absolutely love, however out of my published babies, it's SB 100%.
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why? The Legion of Lenny Faces was a crack fic that I just posted for funsies. I wouldn't mind getting rid of that.
7) When is your preferred time to write? Since I am starting to work again, I'm thinking about starting work on my writing around 2PM. It's normally around that time that I start anyway, so it works out.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from? Movies, music, sometimes even my own songs that I write. Inspiration really comes from anywhere that hits me. However, it hits especially hard whenever I make a playlist for a particular mood that I want a story to have.
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote? In Soul Bound, my current favorite scene that I have written was the scene in the chapter Confrontations with the scene between Amity and Odalia. I essentially channeled everything I ever wanted to say to my abuser into Amity's words and it was the most cathartic thing that I ever wrote.
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind? In The Bean that I wrote for April Fools, while it definitely is a crack fic, I still wanted it to read like an Owl House episode or at least an Owl House short. However, I did think of an alternate ending in mind where the bean just kept on multiplying until it flooded the entirety of the BI. However, That would mean by those rules, duplicating all non-living things on the isles.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it? I split an entire chapter into two pieces and rewrote another one just because of criticisms that made complete sense to me. In all honesty, I did blame the burnout, however all of that and the small break I did take helped a lot to reinvigorate my love for this story that I am writing.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why? Skara. 100%, she is babey and I love her.
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why? Gonna be honest, while I love King as a character, I don't exactly like writing him. I feel like if I wrote him as more of an active part of the story, it would detract entirely from the whole thing. Second would be my OC, Robert Almade solely because I feel like he can be much more fleshed out, but also because there are parts of his character that I did write that just don't make complete sense to me. This should be worked out later.
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories. For Soul Bound, I literally asked a Discord server for ideas because all the titles I did think of were shit XD. However, I recently came up with the title for my Skarlow punk band AU, Skara and the Wallflower, based on the book/movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower as well as band names in general.
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names? I normally think about the themes the character embodies and how they may change and grow throughout the story, and then I translate specific keywords into different languages and trim them in a way that sound like a name.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?[Ask me about a specific story]
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.“Oh, sure! Protect me from him, but let Amity take the brunt of it and possibly die? What if she is dead, Eda? What if I can’t see her again?”
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them? I'd rather not talk about it.
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to? Possibly I may have one for Skara and the Wallflower if I feel up to it, however Soul Bound is going to be a one-and-done deal.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently? Yes!
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire? @lunanight2012 @quirkquartz @descendantofthesparrow
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it? Any story that I haven't published.
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence? I do listen to music just to set in the general mood and once I get going, I can go either with or without it.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes? I can write smut. However I don't ever feel comfortable publishing smut. It really just isn't for me.
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story? YES! I ABSOLUTELY HAVE!!!! SO MANY TEARS BECAUSE OF THE ANGST!!!
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write? This most recent chapter was actually the hardest to write because I was already so scared when writing Scrying of the Soul that when I started writing this one, I didn't know how to settle down with this whole thing. I knew Luz needed to process her trauma before I introduced the ghost, but exactly how I felt like I had trouble with.
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow? I have a varied mix of ways I outline. Yes, I do have a list of bullet points about what major plot points go where, but really that's all that comes together before I start writing. Soul Bound is completely plotted out in the very broad strokes, but the rest is just improvisation.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction? That writing would be the single most fun thing that I have ever done and to be fair while I do want my stories to be the best they can be, just the fact that I'm getting them out there makes me happy.
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like? Gonna be honest, my one-shots don't get a lot of love, but it is entirely understandable.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at? Ya know, Imma just say a song title that I wrote that many people love that I've grown to just not like. Ticking Time Away.
31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec, not the answerer)Yeah, sure!
32) Are any of your characters based on real people? The way I characterize Odalia is based on a mix of what is already established. That and a heavy doseage of my abuser and their mindset. Which is kind of why it felt cathardic writing that scene in Conflicts.
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten? Honestly, whenever I make a revision and it is heavily praised by either a reader if I edited an already published chapter or a beta reader if I had revised a particular scene they didn't like. I thrive off of any good critique and it makes me want to do better.
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten? I mean there are people who wouldn’t read just because what I wrote was a ghost fic, but tbh it wasn't even that harsh.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest? I normally share with other writers when I'm really excited so I can bounce ideas off of them, however specific story elements I keep close to my chest because that part feels like my personal touch moreso than the general idea.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s? HAHA NICE TRY BEYOTCH YOU JUST HAVE TO READ IT!! (Other than the fact that Amity does get her body back, but that's already been promised.)
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written? The BEAN
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name them. I would honestly be willing to collab with anybody from the Good Witch Society on Discord. As well as my partner which we already talked about quite a few ideas that we had for stories.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person? So, I do love writing inner monologue, however if I was ever staying in one character's perspective, it would just feel way too limiting. I prefer third person omniscient so I can at least give the reader insight into what's going on in everybody's heads.
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?IRL, yeah. But I have established that I am using this to exercise my own writing skills.
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written? Emira I would actually consider a minor character in the grand scope of my story, however I absolutely adore writing her.
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.I write my own songs and to be completely fair, it was really spontaneous in Soul Bound, but I found out a plot point that could definitely weave in extremely well within the story.
Skara and the Wallflower being a punk band AU will definitely be a songfic with all original songs.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it? Actually, nobody has ever really guessed a plot twist yet.
44) What is the last line you wrote? This really can't be good.
45) What spurs you on during the writing process? I already really adore the stories that I write and my goals are to write them and get them out there. I think about how the characters react and how things can go wrong in a way that makes sense.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?[Ask me for a specific story]
47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?[Ask me]
48) What’s your favourite trope to write? Friends to Lovers, hands down.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about? To be completely honest, the first fic I read was a Zelda fic. I forgot what most of the plot was about, but it did involve Link and Zelda going into Termina and meeting up with this original character who did everything he can to fuck with the both of them. It's very vague, but I absolutely loved it and I never remembered it updating.
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? I'd have to cave and say angst. I like to have conflict in my stories, but I never like to have it be complete brooding. Just some light trauma, you know?

40 Questions with Ao3 Writer Emilyymay_x
So I saw this on tumblr and thought I would answer some questions, I have adapted a few, but hopefully y’all can learn a bit more about me and my work <33
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction? I was 14/15!
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one? I used to write for the CW show Arrow, but not so much anymore. I also used to write for Daredevil/The Punisher, but again not so much these days. Currently, I am writing for BTS which is my main focus - and It is my favourite :)
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer. I think for the first two things I wrote for it was ships, but I prefer writing reader inserts for BTS. I think that’s because of what I enjoy reading more - it’s easier to imagine yourself in a character in some ways than an OC!
4) What is your favourite genre to write for? I am a sucker for romance tbh. Just cute fluffy stuff - it kills me.
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi-chaptered stories, which would it be and why? Draw My Heart - It’s an olicity fanfic, and whilst it isn’t my most popular, it was so enjoyable to write, plan out, and I created this whole new world which was super fun to do. I hope people like it as much as me. It was also a lot longer than anything I had really written, so it was challenging for me which I liked! Here’s the link if you’re interested:  https://archiveofourown.org/works/11911494/chapters/26914737
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why? Werewolves and Vigilantes. It was a Teen Wolf and Arrow crossover, which was... well, I tried to be dramatic and I should have just stuck to my fluffy roots! I will never delete it though - I’m still kind of attached!
7) When is your preferred time to write? Free time during the day, definitely. As a student, I am quite flexible with my time.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from? I get inspired by films, tv shows, and other fanfictions, definitely. There is so much content out there to be inspired by!
9) What’s your favourite kind of scene to write? I love writing scenes where characters get together, or express their love for each other. That’s always magical.
10) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it? Yes - Only in the following chapters, I rarely go back to change things. Fanfiction for me has always been about fanservice, and I take criticism to heart - which is not always a good thing! But usually the readers are thinking the same as me - so I’m happy to change things.
11) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why? I like writing for Namjoon, my bias - which for me makes it more challenging, but rewarding.
12) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why? I find it hard to write for Tae, but I’m hoping to write some more with him. I just haven’t had any ideas that have suited him yet.
13) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on. “I love you. And there is nothing stronger than the power of love. I will find my way back to you.”
14) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them? Unfortunately! I only really abandon stuff in the early stages, though, so its no real loss. Usually, it’s because the idea isn’t good enough to flesh out into a proper story.
15) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to? I recently added a short sequel to my first fanfiction, Fate, Luck & Tequila, which was so much fun. I would love to add a sequel to Draw my Heart... maybe with different characters, but in the same universe. A BTS one would be amazing!
16) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently? I think I end up where I usually want to, it’s often the middle that can be tricky!
17) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire? I have always admired supersillyanddorky06. She is the only olicity fanfic writer that I read anymore - she is so talented, and is turning one of her works into a novel, which I am definitely going to be first in line to read! More recently, I have fallen in love with jincherie, whose work tentacledipity, in particular, is just spellbinding, and so wonderful to read. I am constantly inspired by these two writers in particular, and wish I was even HALF as good at writing as they are!
18) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it? My first ever fanfiction on wattpad (gah, I know!) is a bit hard to reread, but it’s all a learning curve I suppose!
19) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence? it varies. If I do listen to music, it will be chilled or with no lyrics or lyrics in different languages than what I am writing in - so I don’t get confused whilst writing!
20) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes? I’ve grown fonder of it - I certainly read more smut than fluff, although I think for me it's important to combine the two genres. I don’t think I would feel comfortable writing smut without plot, but that’s just me.
21) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story? No - although I have whilst reading other stories - most recently it was paper cranes - https://aquaminwrites.tumblr.com/post/183853221169/paper-cranes-kim-taehyung-m this tae fic had me SOBBING.
22) Which part of your works is the hardest to write? I have to say I do find it tricky to write the middle mundane part of stories? I always feel like I have a solid beginning and ending, but the middle can sometimes be tricky! ha- I’m working on it!
23) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow? Depends. If I think of a scene that I haven’t quite got to, I usually write a plan for it.
24) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction? Not everyone is going to love your work, and don’t rush things! Think about WHY you are writing in the first place.
25) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like? Like I said earlier, my favourite fic, Draw My Heart, doesn’t get as much love as some of my other olicity fics. I hope it can one day.
26) In contrast, is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at? Not eye roll per say, but I was surprised at the attention my one shot wonders collection of olicity stories got - I guess people really do love one shots more than multi-chapters!
27) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten? I’ll never forget one of the first comments I got - that I wrote like a seasoned professional - it stuck with me and made me so happy :)
28) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten? - Usually, it’s pretty specific, which makes it slightly less painful!
29) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest? Sometimes I share with a friend who loves fanfictions as much as me to get her take on it.
30) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s? I’m writing a soulmate au and a futuristic au at the moment, with Namjoon and Jungkook, respectively. The former is nearly complete and is a ball of FLUFF - although it has angsty undertones. It involves soulmate marks that change colour once you have found your soulmate, you know, the usual fluffy goodness.
31) What’s the funniest story you’ve written? Fate, Luck & Tequila has some very fun and funny moments - it’s definitely a comedy!
32) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it. I would be too scared to collab with anyone, hahaha. But if anyone wanted to collab with me, I wouldn’t hesitate! Two is always better than one :)
33) Do people know you write fanfiction? Yes - although only two people have read them irl.
34) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song? I use a lot of songs in fics, but I was listening to ghostin by ariana grande the other day and wrote a yoongi fanfic on it, just because the lyrics held a lot of power and emotion that I wanted to put to paper (or online I guess!)
35) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it? Oh yeah, definitely! But I think a lot of people have got it wrong too- - or inspired me to write it after reading their ideas!
36) What is the last line you wrote? It’s fitting actually: “At the end of the day, you have to write what your passionate about - and you need to be passionate about writing.”
37) What spurs you on during the writing process? Honestly? Excitement, adrenaline, and maybe a bit of boredom of other stuff in my life :)
38) What’s your favourite trope to write? I love meet cutes, soulmate stuff, anything with fluffy tones!
39) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? I do like a bit of angst now and then, but probably fluff - at least I would be happy and it would probably come most naturally. I could just imply smut anyway ;)
40) What would you like to write that you haven’t written already? I would like to write a hybrid fic. I love reading them so much! Hopefully one day I can get round to it!
