What do think about dick/talia

so Talia is one of those tricky characters for me where i read all the wrong content for her to begin with.so for the longest time i had a piss poor understanding of her and i'm still trying to. rectify that, Grant Morrison when i catch your ass-

but i do have a newfound love for her and i think she and Dick have an interesting relationship. bc they can't stand each other. so i do see the potential for shipping them! i wouldn't say it's a ship i seek out to would ever personally write, but if a fic/art/concept using the ship was top-notch, i would absolutely be into it.

bc there's a lot of fun stuff to play with for them. these two do not get along in canon and it always seems to be such a personal hatred, it's so funny. they dislike working together the rare times they do and tend to be at odds for the typical reasons you'd expect like morality and all. but they always seem to respect each other, which is the fun of it. i love an enemies to lovers situation that's rooted in respect. i think my favorite version of this ship would be the Pre-Crisis version, bc they just always seemed to have issues, usually fighting over Bruce. it's so antagonistic and i love that.

and of course, the fun of it is where Damian falls. because Talia and Dick are both parental to Damian, but clearly have wildly different opinions on what raising Damian should look like. so it'd cause interesting conflict if they were dating how they would be forced to find a middle ground and Damian's just. stuck in the middle. honestly Damian's reaction to their relationship could be fun in general, bc i do think it'd send him through all the stages of grief at once.

all in all, i think there's a ton of nuance that would make a really fun ship, whether you played it straight or took it in a dead dove direction. forcing these two together and seeing them slowly fall for each other is absolutely in character for both of them. tbh if Talia wasn't created to be Bruce's love interest, she and Dick probably would've kissed by now. they do always have an interesting tension when they're on page together. i could see Talia getting obsessed with Dick in a way- his purity, the way he's a virtuous light to the entirety of the hero community. how she would try to get him to see her side could be a lot of fun in a corruption kink sort of way. lots of potential for these two.

Uhhh headcanons about Oscar?

YAY AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK ABOUT MY BELOVED!!! Uhhh... some of this has potential to be triggering? Maybe? Uh.. mentions of religious trauma and mentions of intrusive thoughts, so I'm putting it under a cut (also people are probably not that interested in my thoughts about this gayass priest)

- He's greyromantic and ace (and in love with Arthur, obviously)

- The way he shows his love is very similar to worship, because it's what he's been taught by priests growing up

- Adding onto that, his wires are crossed, meaning he mixes fear and love because the Catholic Church teaches that to love God is to fear him. (Also based on what he says in 36, I think the priests would be like that as well)

- Sometimes priests double as organists! I think Oscar would have some basic musical training, enough to play chords and a melody during worship (him and Arthur should duet...)

- Re: the previous one, I think he would've hated lessons, and hates playing in services because there's people around, but loved playing pieces he liked, by himself.

- He has coeliac disease. I don't know where I got this hc, it came to me in a vision. (My church solely uses gluten free bread so perhaps it cane from there)

- He wears glasses. Square frame ones specifically.

- The worst churches always tell young people right from the start, that they are imperfect and therefore unworthy of God's love, the only person who could be is Jesus, and given what we know about Father McKenna, I'm think Oscar would be raised that way, so he's constantly striving for perfection to the point of obsession.

- HOWEVER, he does not preach the same thing in his church! I think he's the type to try and fix the system from the inside, and teaches the young at his church that they are good enough for God, that he loves them even though they sin.

- He gets bad intrusive thoughts. Because Christianity (and Catholicism especially) is deeply obsessed with purity, he'd try to repress them more and it would only get worse. Maybe taking a hammer to father mckenna was the catalyst for them. (When he falls for Arthur, he's convinced it's an "evil thought" and believes repressing it would make it stop, he's convinced he's condemned to hell.)

- Oscar fiddles with his rosary beads when he thinks about Arthur, so to an outsider it looks like he's praying, but actually he's thinking about someone else... there's a link to the commandment "have no other gods but me" to be made here, but it's late and I can't think of it.

- He's soooo huggable, he loves physical contact.

AWHWHW sorry pls bare with me I’m scatterbrained but like. In a sentence I love that Duke is someone who presses forward despite everything! Like this is draft two bc my first answer was just listing character traits which wasn’t the question; but what I personally adore about him is that he just doesn’t stop moving.

It sounds weird but like. To me he gives refusal to die, refusal to settle, refusal to give up. When riddler took Gotham Duke was certain HE’D be the one to save them if he tried hard enough, when Bruce lost his memories Duke tried to get him back and then pushed forward with his own plans with the certainty that Batman would come back - whether through him or not, when his parents went missing he said fuck the system and went after them anyways and that’s just like. Off the top of my head. Like as corny as it sounds Duke lowkey embodies what I love about Batman - the whole indomitable human spirit or however you say that and it’s by far my favorite trait bc I don’t even think he’s aware of it? Like he actively plays at not caring about the Robin movement and just wanting to find his parents but like 3 hours later he’s texting them going ‘but like what are the details if I joined lol. Like hypothetically.” He actively fights Damian until he agrees with him, becomes a leader within the movement until Bruce is back whilst dodging gcpd, and Bruce literally had to dress up as karma for Duke to admit maybe it did fuck him up a little - all for him to still be like “I’m not good enough :(‘.

And I know that all seems like shit he just did but I promise his mindset during these things is so fascinating to me bc it’s like he simultaneously understands not many others would do this whilst also holding it as bare minimum/base standards. Like I make joke posts about him being a hardass but tbh he doesnt judge anyone half as hard as he judges himself - he understands bad circumstances, plans going left, differing povs - all until he makes a mistake; then he sucks and needs to be better. He’s also just hilarious like I didn’t read him in chrono order so the first thing I saw was him in a fight with some girls brother bc he heard Duke was flirting with her and idk an opening like that just cemented him as cool to me.

ALSO (from the tags!) I ADOREEEEEE HOW MUCH HE LOVES THE ADRENALINE/RUSH OF FIGHTING! Like Duke got in a lot of fights while his parent were missing and besides the obvious acting out bc he’s hurt he also just genuinely loves the rush of it - like not my interpretation he outright says it! And i need to do a reread for him bc I feel like it wasn’t mentioned a lot but if the og fight was the hook, the adrenaline line is what reeled me in and keeping it in mind while reading stories of him going off on his own for the good of Gotham adds another layer to it bc it’s not SOLEY necessity for him! Like things happened to line up where there was always a void that needed to be filled when he got involved in anything but it genuinely feels like duke wouldve been here no matter the circumstances. like even in civilian aus the way duke as a character is set up makes it so that it feels like - to me anyways- theres no world in which hes not doing or striving towards something! duke isnt the type to just be comfortable, bad wording, but hes just a very hungry character to me - if for an adventure or a solution. Its conveniently been both for most of his career but im very interested for what happens internally when those two clash - which. i personally think the nature of his powers and gnomon could bring that out beautifully!

Kinda yes? But my taste in art and aesthetics is pretty broad i'd say, so my art just doesn't really capture ALL of it. I can't do soft brush strokes for example, or super detailed stuff, but my art fits the simplified, strong strokes aesthetic. Also i draw ganqing the way i like, trying to give them a feeling of just normal aged adults, bc i don't rlly enjoy certain anime styles that are very prevalent in genshin fandom, naturally 😅

Maybe lively and dynamic, just less stiff. I'm better at poses than before, but there's still so much room for improvement. okay so. overall!! and i’d love to know your thoughts on this logan….. i firmly believe that satoru is the type to love one single person for the rest of his life. he never moves on from them. once someone has earned his love and nestled their way into his heart they’re there to stay. (and i’d argue that it’s kinda supported by canon yk… satoru hanging on to his memories of youth/suguru no matter how much time passes :’3)… so!! yeah!!! i definitely think he’d stay in love with his bestie forever, even if he knew fully well his feelings wouldn’t be returned. that’s just my take though!!!

i thinkkkk the tricky part is just. how satoru feels about it. a part of me wants to say that he handles it decently, that he’s happy just to be around you… but i think it’s also natural for him to feel a little empty about it all. bc he truly is!! a loverboy!!! deep down he yearns so badly for intimacy :(((( satoru is just such a pro at isolating himself and i think it gets worse in this kind of scenario. he loves you but does keep a certain distance i think…. to make it easier for himself and also so he doesn’t mess anything up for you. but he can never keep himself away for too long……

I think Kyoya is very much in love with Tamaki and with Haruhi. He’s very much in love with the both of them. And I think it matures to a point where he would much prefer to see the both of them together than him with either one. Because they make more sense together than he makes with anybody else.

i think that’s sort of how he’d feel!!! there’s a kind of maturity there that satoru has imo. and since he’s so close to both of you, he doesn’t have to worry about being pushed out of your life (which might be his biggest worry in a scenario where you’re together with a random third party)…… so. yeah!!! would it be angsty? yes ofc. but i rlly do see satoru as a mature character, and also often selfless!!! he just respects you and your choices so much :(((

y’know it kinda feels like psychological horror is kinda perfect for Leo, but i still wanna hear your reasoning

Psychological horror is my favourite genre to read. Maybe it's because I'm so intrigued by understanding how others think, but it just really hits the spot for me.

There's such a heavy focus on our mental and emotional states in psychological horror that you don't get as much with other genres. That's part of the reason that I chose it for Leo, because it's not based on any real, tangible fear, but rather what is going on inside your head. It works well for him because Leo internalises literally everything! And represses the hell out of it! He's literally the perfect psych horror protagonist. He wouldn't trust himself- much less the people around him- with what he's thinking, which would lead to spirals and inevitably more dangerous situations.

I also think that Leo wouldn't be scared of that many other genres unless it was a very specific sort of fear caused by a phobia. I can imagine him maybe having a fear of death, or of losing his family, but neither of those fears have a full genre based on it (like Raph's fear of the paranormal). Both seem more likely to be used as plot devices in a psychological horror story.

i've been going back and forth in my brain between a couple things. one is affair au which i've talked about too much for what little i have written aklsdjfsd and the other is the TA romance AU, a modern AU where shtola is a young university professor and cori becomes her TA. and. there's romance lmao. i started writing it a bit the other day because i have in my mind like a montage of scenes from the semester where cori is shtola's student and their building friendship/dynamic that leads to shtola asking cori to be her TA/cori offering to be it. but the sentences were not flowing and for some reason in my mind i have to do that before i can start writing any other scenes from it even though that really doesn't make any sense LMAO

also still want to write the corishtola first kiss and i think i might try to gpose it today and see if that sparks anything lol

ok so those guys in particular are from the fox procedural called 9-1-1 Lone Star, which is a spinoff of the original 9-1-1 (which just got moved to abc after some Drama that went down so my tag for it is 911 (not fox) lmaoo). but both shows are about first responders (firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, police) with a particular focus on firefighters. 9-1-1 (the og) is set in LA, and primarily focuses on the 118 firehouse and the firefighters/paramedics there with some other characters in the main cast who work as dispatchers/police officers (the police storylines are more often than not FULL of copaganda which sucks but the main focus is on the firefighters so i'm able to enjoy the rest of the show). 9-1-1 Lone Star is pretty much the same except it's set in austin texas, and is about the 126 firehouse. there are onscreen queer characters in both (in the og there's a married lesbian couple raising a kid, and in lone star there's the aforementioned hot gay boys [one of whom is unfortunately a cop but i swear to GOD i will get him out of there. one day.] and in lone star there's also a trans man and wlw woman in the main cast.) and my favorite thing about these shows is the found family !!! like these are the shows that have endeared firefighter aus to me because they live together and eat meals together and just. the familial/platonic love is So Powerful and it legiterally makes me cry to watch. like there's romance ofc but genuinely it's one of my favorite found family medias to ever exist. its So.

of the two the og is my favorite for a LOT of reasons, but they're both pretty enjoyable !! lone star definitely has more of a comedic tone than og (theyre BOTH funny but lone star doesn't have as many somber intense moments as og does, and they're much more spread out so there's a lot more room for goofy shenanigans. but og still definitely has plenty of those) and the team dynamics in them both are just...ughhh <3333

HOWEVER. lone star has ..... Him...(derogatory)...he's the fire captain and (despite lone star SUPPOSEDLY being an ensemble show with no Main Character) is in fact. the Main Character. and he's the blandest most obnoxious crustiest white man to ever LIVE. he gets most of the storylines and he's constantly propped up by the writing as The Coolest Guy Ever when he's just . not . i hate him so much it's unreal it's soo so unreal (<- biting the bars of my cage) BUT the rest of the team ??? absolutely love them. like i DO love lone star a lot its a great show with great characters and dynamics but it just has. the most annoying guy to ever live front and center when ITS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ENSEMBLE SHOW FEATURING EVERYONE EQUALLY. grr. anyway. og does a much better job of being an ensemble show, and i could not choose a favorite character of the main cast if you held me at gunpoint. angela bassett is there. i am gay. jennifer love hewitt is there. i am very gay. etcetera.

AND SINCE YOU ASKED SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE LONE STAR GAYS ILL TELL YOU A BIT ABOUT THEM

so one of them is tk strand (firefighter/paramedic, also the son of the Main Character (derogatory). i have many many many thoughts about that. i would probably get gunned down in this fandom if i ever said them aloud.) and the other one is carlos reyes (a private detective TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE but unfortunately fox is full of cowards who refuse to see the truth. they wanna have a gay cop in their show sooo bad </3) and they're kind of the main romance of the show (there Are others ofc but theyre like. The Focus. which is fine ig but i do wish there was more focus on other relationships because in general lone star isnt as good as the ensemble thing as og. but i already complained about that so i digress.)

now they're a fun pair because one of them has been shot, frozen almost to death, and otherwise put into a coma on MULTIPLE occasions. and it's not the guy whose entire job is to get shot at. (the whump in both of these shows.....................absolutely effervescent. im thriving here.) and they have a very fascinating relationship because their personalities fit together really well but they have different ways of coping with shit that kind of tear each other apart a little bit. which is of course terrible for them but incredible for me. and the writing is at times ridiculous. soap opera-esque, even. they're ridiculous. i adore them. they cannot catch a god damn break and i love that for them even more. <3

Horror really has only be yoinked once, which would be making a deal with nightmare! CROSS HOWEVER!!

Cross has been yoinked (i need a better word for this-) 3 times,, technically. But only 2 in long term. The first time being with dream, and originally being found and brought with them. the technical one happened during dream, being an influence from an, 'outside god'. this partially was what caused him to leave dream n make a deal with nightmare, nm being the 3rd!!

extra explaining bcs i can so the stuff that counts for this,,,, theres the main gods (nm, dream, reaper, life, error, ink) which can cause influence or in my silly ways of wording it 'yoink or kidnap' ppl thru mainly interacting and, imprinting on them in a way? nightmares and dreams are more obvious, being through the people they 'work' with (stars and the gang), reaper and life dont really care to influence, though reaper does have a slight influence with geno due to their interactions. ink doesnt really influence bcs of his soulless status, but he does have a direct connection with dream. error also doesnt care much for it, though he does have an influence on blue from that time it kidnapped him. the outside god is technically me lol

first of all thank you so much 🥹 and second that’s absolutely not a dumb question!! i do pull a lot of images from getty and i’ll also download pictures from sports articles (i got a lot of the hugheses pictures from online access articles, for example), or sometimes from instagram/facebook/twitter if an account is public. freely admitting that i am not technologically advanced? inclined? in the slightest here, but the image editing software that you use and how you import/export photos with it makes a difference in the quality of them as well!

I remember Elias having a veryyy happy childhood but what was he like then before he died? class clown? popular? beloved?

Yeah the thing with Elias is that he was pretty much spoiled by everyone and everything in his life before he was turned, which is the main explanation for why he is. The way he is.

He ended up joining the football team in highschool cause he was freakishly tall and he got popular off of that (and being rich) to the point where he had an impenetrable social shield for the things other kids would have gotten bullied for. He was mostly chill and friendly with everyone in the school, EXCEPT when it came to football > His villain era started there insane jock 3000 he was running that team at 16 like the navy. If he felt that anyone wasn't up to par he'd bully them mercilessly until they quit then acted as if nothing had happened and god forbid anyone was a better athlete than him. He'd start planning deadly football incidents > probably never actually killed anyone but serious injuries 100%. While he was popular with the rest of the school his football team was terrified and just prayed he'd graduate asap.

Grade wise he sucked but graduated on time cause his parents made a huge donation to the school in his senior year + he would have gotten into a good college with a football scholarship. Dating wise he'd get into relationships constantly and act insane in each one. Got broken up with maybe twice and went nuclear each time. After highschool he took a sabbatical and just partied the entire time, he was kinda popular on social media growing up (on vine at 13 > musically > instagram and tiktok) but he really blew up in that year. He was a blood doll for 3-6 months before his sire turned him and started acting weird enough irl and online the "he's secretly been kidnapped"/"he's on drugs" theories began way before he acc disappeared

Not a morning person: She’s super groggy in the morning and her sisters sometimes practically have to drag her out of bed on the weekends. She's too eepy to make her bed so Laura helps her with it. She doesn't really know how to communicate she cares abt someone, so she tries her best in subtle ways, like a hand on their shoulder with maybe a gentle squeeze, asking if they're alright/checking in on them. She acts all serious as if it's part of her "job" but it's how she shows she cares.

Dragon care: This is a silly one but giving her dragons a good scrub and a bath!! She gets dressed in clothes that can get soaked and puts her hair up. She goes outside and uses a hose and a bigass brush to scrub them. She gives them all a nice soak and some scritches on their scales once a month, basic dragon care :>
