Only thing I can see is that the writers have decided to go the Shadow Revenant route, although I'm not sure why.

Previously, they teased some type of more interesting alternative to the Shadow Revenant endgame.

Now it almost looks like that's what they're going for.

I know... (spoilers below the cut)

...this is at least related to them making an event in the future with the Revenant Shell Army, but...

...that doesn't fix the whiplash character writing in my mind.

Live service games just never seem to do well with the writing until they invest in an external medium where the lore can be hammered out into something artful (see Arcane which is a beautifully written episodic show based on the messy foundation of League of Legends lore).

But I could be speaking too soon.

Maybe they'll do something cool.

I like his new design at the exception of his "teeth".
