Scythian images of the snake legged goddess

While I’ve written about the Scythian anguipede goddess, I haven’t made a post focusing on strictly ancient Scythian representations of this theme. Therefore, this post is on all the images of the tendril goddess I’ve researched so far, found in ancient Scythian territories.

Scythian goddess, 340-300 BC. Bronze pommel. Found: Alexandropol burial mound (Lugovaya Mogila)  Right bank of the Lower Dnieper, near Nikopol, Yekaterinoslav province, Russia.

Scythain ancestral goddess, 4th century BCE. Facing for a Horse's Frontlet. Found in Tsymbalka Barrow, Dnieper Area, Zaporozhye Region, formerly the Taurida Province Russia (now Ukraine). The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.

Tendril limbed goddess, earrings from the Butory tumulus. Found in the Grigoriopol district in 1972.

This list is by no means exhaustive. I apologise for the images I couldn’t find actual photographs of. While I can read menus in Ukrainian, I really struggle with Russian, and most of the sources for these are in Russian. Also, I only have so much patience to track things down.

I’ll definitely be returning to this subject again.

It's the blorbo's creation day today! I made him in 2011, he's 14 years now!! That's crazy.

Here he is with his updated design in a finished piece. I'm still struggling to make art of him that I'm satisfied with, but the new design does help.

I might also need some distance from this piece to appreciate it. That's usually how my brain functions, it can never like my art right after I finish something.

This is a good question. Let us start by saying that it is very unlikely we’ll do this anytime soon. There simply isn’t the bandwidth on our side to be taking on such a project right now. We are sorry to be the bearers of bad news—but then that’s not quite all. 

As luck would have it, there is a public demo example way of using the API to do just what you ask here. We like to think this is a more than adequate workaround, and hope this helps.

Api posting before 2024 ends💥💥

Trying to figure out a nice outfit for her, these are nice but they don’t quite scream Api’s vibes :’)

First comic for the first time in forever! I should save these silly little ideas about their mundane lives in the "fun and games" section of the actual story instead of making one-off comics like these.

I've struggled the most with liking my Toonocosm art while trying to recover from my art burnout, but for once, I don't utterly hate what I just made! That's a good sign.

I also can never decide on a font that I want to stick with. I also keep forgetting the names of the fonts I've used so I always need to find a new one every time I make a comic. I need to find one and stick with it, this one is just called "Hey Comic".
