API Endpoint
Do you know what is API endpoint? It is one particular part where two different APIs meet and execute the API functionality for the end user. It leads you to better and effective purposes of an app. Ensure to give it a progressive direction with the help of APIs and high on demand plugins.

okay fine: there can be one (1) sequel, in which he befriends a guy named "sherlock holmes" but who does NOT deduce or do detection AT ALL. and their best friend is "winnie the pooh", a normal man who simply chooses to go by that name for normal reasons
#dracula and the case of the undocumented API endpoint#we can all agree that the public domain has been a boon for normal guys named dracula

bad news everybody my work playlist is 70% Seeking Purpose and 30% In Fulgur and Fire, and I have spent the last two nights watching Halo 2 Anniversary cutscenes and re-familiarizing myself with the terminals and IRIS servers. I am so deeply sorry for the sci-fi nonsense I'm about to unleash 😔
#going rabid feral insane#charlie kelly pepe silvia.png but all the mail is instead pictures of zoraal ja and kinara#i've got plans. this is not a drill there is a disorganized notepad++ document of scenes behind me RIGHT NOW.#do not fret. makhali will visit the arcadion this weekend#and with 🐴 back my plans with it can finally begin!#i'm just also separately foaming at the mouth about my cringefic :)#me shaking zoraal ja's hand: 'the video of you getting beat to shit by catboys helped write an api endpoint. thanks for ur service.'

not to sound like a redditor again but holy fuck it’s actually so annoying to be smarter than most people and it creates actual problems in my life. I have to be so careful about anything I say because even if it’s correct, people my level and above me will feel like I am making them look bad or challenging their authority so every fucking thing I say has to be this careful construction of explaining the same thing over and over again until I can finally lead them to the right answer so they don’t feel like I’m smarter than them.
#like I gave some VERY basic background on how APIs work to make my answer of ‘since the SME isn’t here you really need to talk to the#developer’ make sense#and 5 very very frustrating ‘well can they just do this?’ ‘yeah if they can target that endpoint’ ‘well can they target that end point?’#‘I don’t know and it’s not documented so you’ll have to ask [developer]’ ‘oh okay but what about this?’#and then repeat that 5 times but each time the field suggestion is different#but she’s technically my boss so I can’t even say ‘this is why I said you’d need to ask [developer] I do not have the answer you need’ bc#bc the last time I did that I got yelled at.#it’s even worse with my male superiors and like#I don’t know if I’m actually just smarter than everyone or if I’m just like super autistic or something????#it’s such a stupid thing to complain about too and it sounds so arrogant and self centered#but also like. that is my experience…#but also I can’t imagine that I’m actually meaningfully smarter than 3/4 of the people I meet????????#like am I just unlucky?????

listen, i'm holding on to this job by a rapidly thinning thread. more under a read more because I'm tired !
Now in short: a year ago I was tasked with maintaining this library that's essentially the communication system between the components of the company's big product. So when something bad happens to this library, bad things happen. everywhere.
Why was I tasked with this? Well! The guy who wrote the library (senior developer, I hear he was very good) wrote this thing super quickly and then got poached elsewhere. Before he left, they tasked A PART TIMER/INTERN PERSON to maintain this BIG, HARD TO UNDERSTAND, SUPER IMPORTANT library. He... he did his best. But, like me, he didn't fully unterstand it, and in the end he underperformed/started being unresponsive and got fired.
Enter me! Not really understanding what this beast does, only touched this technology in a very amateur-like fashion. I spend some time trying to understand it, I do some minor tweaks based on issues that had appeared in the past, I'm told I'm doing a good job. I cannot tell you how much this is above my paygrade and my skillset and how much nobody can really guide me through this because nobody understands this thing. This super big library, hard to understand, left to me, person with 3 years of experience, to handle.
Now. There have been times where things have gone Badly, and even when I've been like "Hey! I'm updating The Beast! Please check your shit because I can't possibly check it all" I've gone ignored. Furthermore, when you have super critical services, you try to set up alarms so that if something goes wrong, You Know. Well! With this thing! We didn't know shit! There's been at least 2 times where things have gone wrong with this library (currently trying to handle the second one) and because it's a communication library, nobody suspects it might be the culprit and people chronically don't check their own components when things go wrong AND because this library has spent so much time being in the hands of people who don't understand it, the necessary alarms just. Aren't there.
I am bothered with how much management has underappreciated this library and the effort it takes to maintain it. I am scared of how many different things might go wrong and then we just don't know about them until someone complains or I, for one reason or another, dig into logs. I am not fit for this at all, I have 4 years of very messy experience, meaning I have been doing fullstack for those 4 years, which is like doing 2 jobs already. And management is just chill? They don't care? I don't understand? This is chillness to the point of danger. And I don't feel safe in the fact that they made me take up this risk without anyone being able to help me. I have a coworker who offered and did help but he has his own things to do and he took the initiative himself instead of being officially tasked with helping with the library. What I need is someone else to be responsible for this, and I can help here and there, but I cannot, possibly, be asked to be responsible for something that might crash and burn without us even realizing it.
#evelyn stuff#i can never work for a startup again#yesterday i went on linkedin and looked at jobs because i was stressed about work again#and i looked at some and they seemed! defineeed girl i need definition.#let me set up my databases and my api endpoints and my little frontends in peace. i don't want to do this again#evelyn vs work

So I use a browser extension on ff called simple tab groups, which lets me bundle a bunch of tabs into different contexts and manage them as groups.
On my normal setup, I only have like 3 tabs, but when I want to work on one of my projects, I can open the group that I keep that projects documentation in, and have it all handy instantly, and when I'm done I can switch back to my usual socials and just right click + discard the group to unload everything.
I run between 40-80 tabs but never more than 20 at a time, and that's only for the worst of documentation stuff.
when you are done with a tab you can close it. every browser in the world has a feature that lets you open recently closed tabs. also there is browsing history. need to visit a webpage often? may i introduce you to the bookmarks feature. there’s no reason to leave your tabs open. hoarder behavior.
#I'm a programmer#my projects are usually code so i need to keep track of lots of documentation#Google APIs are especially bad because it's a different page for each method of each endpoint#but Fitbit gets a runner up prize for having so many pages too#having socials hidden when docs are open makes focusing slightly easier for me too

Finished adding all of the different pokemon-forms to the json-files. Created a BlazeBlack-file too with all of its updated values, so I'm finally finished with the pokemon-side of things.
Happy to keep going, I created a list of held items-...
What do you mean "the API-info didn't include the gems"? Oh, right. It's not generation-locked so it might also have included a bunch of non-existing items, and that means...
I'm going to have to manually trawl through the entire list and erase and add things as we go.
... Yay.
#the fact that these APIs aren't generation-locked is kind of infuriating to me? like WHY WOULDN'T YOU DO THAT?#''it's a bunch of extra-effort''... is it? then why did you include the ENTIRE movesets of EVERY GENERATION for each pokemon?#i feel like THAT'S a fuckload more of an effort than just having an endpoint-url that says ''bring me this Gen's version of it''#i mean that's how i was planning on making it work when i was fucking around with database-logic#and i doubt that i'm some kind of database-handling genius. so this feels more like ''if it's not the latest gen then WHO CARES''#which is like... hooly shit. what an incredibly weird attitude to have.#personal stuff

🌟 New
Tumblr URLs in Replies will now become clickable links!
Speaking of Replies, they’re threaded now!
Did you just get promoted to moderator in your Community, but don’t know what to do? Behold the new documentation!
Community admins can now ban members! Banned members will not be able to re-join or even see the Community they were banned from.
We’re opening up the Communities API to third-party developers via the public Tumblr API. Stay tuned in our public docs repo for updates on the different endpoints!
🛠 Fixed
It was difficult to read long alt text on the web, and this has now been fixed! Please keep in mind that alt text should be a brief description of your image, as if you were describing it to someone over the phone, solely to make your post accessible to folks using a screen reader.
On the web, it was previously impossible in many cases to add a Read More block to the top of a post, and now you can!
🚧 Ongoing
Folks with the Android app are unable to block anonymous Asks, but they can still be blocked on the web, and there will be a fix in the next update.
🌱 Upcoming
We’re still hard at work on even more features for Communities!
We’re also … collecting … a new perk for Premium subscribers, stay tuned! 😉
Experiencing an issue? Check for Known Issues and file a Support Request if you have something new. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Want to share your feedback about something? Check out our Work in Progress blog and start a discussion with the community.
Wanna support Tumblr directly with some money? Check out Premium and the Supporter badge in TumblrMart!
