At the Idol Athletics Sports Competition, Maya and Jungkook were on the same team. Maya was in the semifinals for the wrestling competition against Apink's Hayoung.

When she beat her fellow female idol, Jungkook couldn't have acted any happier. He was seated on the ground next to his BTS member Jin and the moment she won, he jumped up and had a huge smile on his face. However, he was quickly embarrassed as the only other people to stand up for Maya were her Twice member and a few other teammates of theirs. Jungkook almost immediately sat back down again, much to the amusement of his members who watched his reaction.

During the Melon Music Awards in 2018, a commercial starring Maya was shown on the screen. Despite the Twice members not being present, the crowd went crazy as Maya appeared on the big screen.

The moment that went viral is when the commercial was done and the camera immediately cut to Jungkook gaping at the screen, seemingly admiring her. As soon as he saw his own face, he quickly looked down at his feet and a blush appeared on his face.

The reaction of the people around him also didn't help his shyness about the situation. His members immediately turned to him and started laughing at their youngest. The cameraman who was filming Jungkook was seen smirking, proud of himself for capturing the moment. The Blackpink members were also seen smiling as Jungkook's smitten face appeared on the screen before them.

The pair were guest MC's in a special episode of the music show, Music Core. Throughout the episode Maya wasn't shy of making eye contact with the male idol, meanwhile Jungkook felt a blush on his face each time their eyes met and he would quickly look away.

The most popular moment of the episode is when Jungkook named her his ideal type, even though it was scripted.

At the 2020 Golden Disc Awards, Maya was seen walking back to her seating space where her members were already sitting as she had gone to the bathroom. As she walked by the BTS members, she almost tripped over a wire that was loosely laying on the floor. Jungkook didn't hesitate and reached down to help with the wire, while Maya did the same thing.

Their faces were very close to each other and they made eye-contact with each other, resulting in both of them getting up straightaway, realising the position they were in. Maya was seen bowing to him and muttering a formal 'thank you', while Jungkook made his way back to his members.

BTS fans noticed that after his interaction with the Twice member, his smile didn't disappear from his face and that his members gave him teasing grins.

oh DUDE this is so fresh and fun this is literally pop perfection tbh. I wasn't super crazy about the last apink full group comeback but this one is a hit for sure - this is a great subunit. When idols look up what fans write about them, it is their choice. Of course they know about ships, see fanart, see links to fanfics. Johnny once commented that Jaehyun's stans should had noticed Jae's new earrings before Jae pointed them out (fans are obsessive like that). However, they read socmed during their own time and can choose whether they are comfortable to follow the white rabbit deeper into the hole or not. Face to face (fancalls, fanmeets) or during lives they are put in a situation of million people watching their reaction to disrespectful questions, and they have to sit through the exposure of the fact that (some) fans are more interested in shipping than the upcoming album.

Yeah, some journalists do the same. They ask celebreties if they developed feelings for each other during working together or show them specific fanart wanting a reaction, but it doesn't mean that it is OK.
