Born in South Africa, raised in Philadelphia and based in Boulder, Colo., Gregory Alan Isakov makes the kind of folk-tinged Americana that has a literary bent. Over the summer, he put out his fifth studio album, Appaloosa Bones. PopMatters compares the singer-songwriter to the Band, Josh Ritter and M. Ward, going on to say, “Gregory Alan Isakov hasn’t reinvented the wheel — his style has been implemented by plenty of artists before and currently — but as Appaloosa Bones proves, few artists can do it as well as him.” And last night he brought the new music to a sold-out Beacon Theatre.

I don’t think you were mean about cat genetics at all tbh! It’s one of my special interests but I didn’t feel insulted. Honestly if you used actual cat genetics for WC, the characters end up being either ginger, black tabby, or tortoiseshell after a couple of generations. that’s super boring! All the Tigerstar clones wouldn’t even look like Tigerstar! where is the Drama!

I'm way more interested in stuff like, how cat taste buds are controlled by two genetics that prevent a specific kind of protein folds, which is why they can't taste sweet or spice, y'know? Or how human hands have a dominant gene to put them on backwards and it's how some geneologists explain how Dominant doesn't mean Definite.

He thinks you're the most talented girl on this planet and he stands by that

When you get hurt while riding he stays by your side the whole time, even if its messy (bloody, broken bone, yelling in pain, etc. he just wants to make sure that you will be okay)

Probably cries when you get seriously injured
