Hello!

I'm a closeted aroace and I would like to have a QPR with a friend of mine, but I'm afraid that everyone will think that he's my boyfriend (and this would be an issue, because he already has a romantic partner). I think the best way to have this QPR would be to ask him directly and see if he agrees. The point is that English isn't my native language, and in my mother tongue the word "QPR" doesn't exist. So, I don't even know how to start explaining him about it. In addition, I'm afraid that he will not understand. If he thinks that I have romantic feelings for him, he'll distance himself from me.

Could you please give me some advice? Thank you in advance for your help :)

Hmm, I think you could try defining a QPR in english and then translate it to your native language? Like maybe, you can define it as attraction that’s neither platonic or romantic, and try translating that?

Tbh try communicating with hi’m as clearly as possible and see how it goes, that seems like your best option.
