Temenos and Arcanette's confrontation in the final chapter got me so so fucking bad

Sort-of subthought to the "Claudelet Temenos" idea but consider: Temenos being Arcanette's son. (This obviously isn't canon, but makes a really interesting AU I believe).

Arcanette letting the pontiff raise him so she can keep him close without risking her position and plans, as well as make sure that he will get a place within the church when he grows up. Children are even easier to form than adults after all, and so much more loyal, too. It'll come in handy to have someone to look for the flames one day, or guard the one in Flamechurch if she has to leave for whatever reason. No one would bat an eye on the fact that Mindt spends so much time with Temenos, either. If anything they think it's sweet, and well, she was the one who found him, maybe she shares a special bond with him. They don't know that the things she tells and teaches him don't all align with the ideals of the flame.

It wouldn't change a lot about Temenos's story, but give it a whole different energy. Especially his friendliness with Mindt and his distrust for the church. Imagine his internal conflict after finding out about Arcanette; of course, with the whole Roi situation, he's still justified in his scepticism, but I feel like part of him would still question himself, and how much of him was formed by Arcanette telling him that the church is wrong his whole childhood.

Knowing the background, there's something really funny about how Arcanette reacted to Temenos's mistake from his chapter 1. This isn't even her faith and somehow she has to tell the inquisitor to do his job correctly. I hope Temenos made her suffer through every bit of her act just by being himself.

i recently saw a post which was like "underrated tropes: foudn family that all hate each other" and that's just the moonshade order and it absolutely kills me kjafhgjdk i love how everyone in the moonshade order just kinda hates each other apart from some people being obsessed with others (tanzi and petrichor with arcanette, ori with oboro possibly)????? LIKE THEY ALL HATE EACH OTHER. ori fucking LOATHES harvey. she doesnt trust arcanette. harvey does nto care for any of them. only osvald matters! as if arcanette has any attachments here cmon.

like it kills me how they do give found family vibes but in the most horrid sense ever
