it is all chaos and entropy. the thing is that the chaos and entropy make it beautiful and lovely.
yes, it's true that nature and the universe are uncaring and unspecific, and that is terrifying. i have lived through some of the unfairness - i got born like this, with my body caving into itself, with this ironic love of dance when i sometimes can't stand up for longer than 15 minutes. i am a poet with hands that are slowly shutting down - i can't hold a pen some days. recently i found a dead bird on our front porch. she had no visible injuries. she had just died, the way things die sometimes.
it is also true that nature and the universe are uncaring and unspecific, and that is wonderful. the sheer happenstance that makes rain turn into a rainbow. the impossible coincidence of finding your best friend. i have made so many mistakes and i have let myself down and i have harmed other people by accident. nature moves anyway. on the worst day of my life she delivers me an orange juice sunset, as if she is saying try again tomorrow.
how vast and unknowing the universe! how small we are! isn't that lovely. the universe has given us flowers and harp strings and the shape of clouds. how massive our lives are in comparison to a grasshopper. the world so bright, still undiscovered. even after 30 years of being on this earth, i learned about a new type of animal today: the dhole.
chance echoing in my life like a harmony between two people talking. do you think you and i, living in different worlds but connected through the internet - do you think we've ever seen the same butterfly? they migrate thousands of miles. it's possible, right?
how beautiful the ways we fill the vastness of space. i love that when large amounts of people are applauding in a room, they all start clapping at the same time. i love that the ocean reminds us of our mother's heartbeat. i love that out of all the colors, chlorophyll chose green. i love the coincidences. i love the places where science says i don't know, but it just happens.
"the universe doesn't care about you!" oh, i know. that's okay. i care about the universe. i will put my big stupid heart out into it and watch the universe feast on it. it is not painful. it is strange - the more love you pour into the unfeeling world, the more it feels the world loves you in return. i know it's confirmation bias. i think i'm okay if my proof of kindness is just my own body and my own spirit.
i buried the bird from our porch deep in the woods. that same day, an old friend reaches out to me and says i miss you. wherever you go, no matter how bad it gets - you try to do good.

#first i thought oh it would just be this one poster. why not. i can do that. i have time. so i did#they told me the general aesthetic and no further details so i thought‚ oh‚ okay‚ so i can basically freestyle this. yknow‚ like an idiot#they told me to change the color scheme‚ the font‚ the color of the font too‚ pretty much redo the entire poster#and these are notes i would be getting late at night. like around 12-2am. i had to revise that poster a shitload of times and was#tired. and then i was done and i thought Welp! at least that's over!#little did i know they were actually planning for me to do MORE WORK: design diplomas/certificates and make one for all the people needed#So here i am 12 diplomas‚ 24 certificates‚ 31 letter of thanks later#all done in one person. all done in two days (deadline was until the end of the week but i couldnt start until at least thursday)#I couldnt start because they sent me the wrong list of people first. so i had to cram(heh) a lot. of hours of work in these past 2 days#Yknow at least they liked my design the first time and i didnt have to revise anything. but ohhhh the fucking. filling out the papers for#each person. absolutely daunting. especially in something like ibispaint x that doesnt have an option to align text to the center#of the canvas. which is more my fault because i am an ibispaint x user. but anyway#They sent me the correct official document. it had incomplete information because they just didnt write patronymics or grades in the#official document. so i had to go and check the first table and figure out everyone's information myself#but the thing is that‚ that table must've been written by the students/participants because stuff like Name Of University wasn't consistent#some literally wrote their school's names wrong and i had to double-check that and fix that for the certificates. fine. whatever#but remember the official document? now imagine it even MORE incomplete because there is a list of at least 10 people and just their#SURNAMES AND INITIALS. so like a digital archeologist i had to go and dig up the names and patronymics of teachers and students i've never#heard of in my fucking life. i had to ask my older friends like Hey is there any chance you know the patronymic of your groupmate thanks???#and the cherry on top. is that the Official Document has a bunch of grammatical errors in it. the most fucking basic ones.#'анастасие' instead of 'анастасии'‚ 'преподователь' instead of 'преподаватель'#so i had to look out for those TOO‚ While Tired (i almost copied the mistakes because all of my work required referencing the doc#but they couldnt even write a fucking grammatically correct or consistent doc so that's nice)#anyways i sent all 67 files and my supervisor said she will look over them 'during the evening'#I dont know what her fucking definition of evening is considering it's already 6pm. i guess i expect to be messaged at 2am once more to fix#some inconsequential bullshit#let's just say i am just a liiiiiittle bit . just sliiightly . burnt out#Call me a vessel the way im full of void but also completely hollow#alas . at least there is fanmade threat music to listen to on loop#crammerposting

lads it is mostly my fault (was sick, didn't tell healthcare until it was Dire, was sentenced to bed rest for the rest of my time at camp) that I literally can't say goodbye to these 100+ people I've come to love properly before I leave. I'm not permitted to participate in any singing, dancing, communal joy, any event that's remotely fun (that's nearly word for word what they said) here at camp. and I'm leaving EARLY, am still miserably sick, and have a four hour commute back home on top of that, because there's no one available to drive. literally cried my eyes out over everything just now and am This Close to crying my eyes out againnnnn
#not to list my woes again but today was Pretty Bad#the horrors: learned that one of the girls I'm working with is the cousin of the boy whom I was so torn up over last year (lol)#received a message from the second boy I was torn up over in the spring saying: do you want to live together? (LOL)#and was hit with the two-by-four of reality today about my own Delusions and such repeatedly over the head. over and over and over LOLLLL !#HOWEVER. the joys: tea. Bible reading time. lots of prayer. laughed a lot with my coworkers.#confided in a friend whom i know can hold secrets close. listened to another friend's voice message on loop. the rain made it not too hot.#i know joy cometh in the metaphorical morning but i wanted joy to come in the form of dancing and singing and worshipping together#and being able to tell each and every person goodbye properly and with the gravity and love they each deserve#i simply!!!!! cannae take this!!!!!! and yet I WILL :'))))))))) bear it with grace#(THAT'S dramatic)#sighhhh anyhow i'm currently mentally digging a little grave for the third disappointment in love i've experienced#since breaking up with my ex boyfriend. the ground is hard my hands are tired and the earth won't budge but i WILL dig that grave#and leave that little ill-formed ill-judged ill-managed love in it#dang i'm tired in all senses of the word!#and YET. there is still a part of me that is light and buoyant and determined to make the most of things#it is so hard to be miserable when the anneish part of you never dies.........sigh#healing girl era summer '24

#people very much want to blame readers for a lack of engagement with fic these days but frankly i think this is.... incorrect#we need to be real about WHAT ao3 is#it is an archive#it is not a space that is particularly conducive to social engagement#the most collaborative experiences i ever had around fic happened on livejournal#it was not on ff.net#like i agree that there is a depressing drop off in like...idk the idea of the social acceptability of leaving comments#and a far more pronounced divide between readers and authors#but this isn't happening bc readers suck now and they're selfish and entitled which frankly is how many posts opining about this issue sound#it's not like lurking or sorting by complete works only is NEW#these are things that have always happened#what has CHANGED imo is that the spaces where fic happens and the spaces where fandom happens are now very different#and isolated from one another#and we can blame readers for not bridging that gap all we want but it's not gonna fix it#especially since we know how well shaming people for Not Enjoying Things Correctly tends to go#like i don't have an answer to this problem but i think this ''you're entitled!'' ''no YOU'RE entitled'' back and forth#between writers and readers certainly isn't going to fix anything either#it's only going to push those two groups further away from each other#to my mind what we need is a) a platform more conducive to collabortive fic writing and fandom interaction#(think LJ or old dedicated fandom message boards)#and b) a cultural shift within fandom spaces away from this idea that authors are like... untouchable or whatever#bc from what I have observed authors who DON'T have this issue are ones who started creating fanworks from within a pre-existing friendgroup#a pre-existing readership really#and these little subsets then grow into larger readerships#the problem is how partioned all these group start#and that i think is a byproduct of an overall more hostile fandom space where people feel like they can't speak or create openly#without being in danger of running afoul of some fandom scold and their lackeys#like fandom has never lacked for drama but i do think in a post-tumblr/twitter fandom space we can all agree that shit jas gotten Buckwild#*gestures at how bg3 fandom recently speedran fandom insanity primarily on twitter*#shit is different these days and blaming each other for that is missing the forest for the trees

another idea popped up in my head instantly after writing the last post i feel like little leoni would all own a ton of like. mini recording devices that play back a recording you've made but all of them are really really stubborn and sentimental if theyre tiny so they all just have a bunch of these small devices that they only use to repeat back blips of random conversations and messages and compliments for when theyre all tiny

had a really funny idea for an ask blog ft. Vanny and another plex employee oc,,
#Get this right. 2 pizzaplex employees accidentally get tumblr famous bc someone has been leaving weird graffiti everywhere and#Getting up to other shenanigans and sends asks abt it to this one like urban exploration blog. Who later gets an ask basically like#Hey I work at the plex?? This is some insider info only another employee would know????#The two anons are constantly back and forth in this persons inbox and are eventually assigned nicknames#‘Pix’ for the mystery vandalism employee because she shows up as nothing but weird pixels and glitches on cameras#The other employee is ‘Cam’ because they have been monitoring all this on the cameras#One day they get each others blogs and keep sending each other death threats and shit jokingly but one day pix warns cam not to go to a#Weird late staff meeting#The next night it is literally just the two of them and they think this is so funny they start a blog trying to uncover why everyone else#Just isn’t coming in. At first they are like well layoffs duhhhh#But then ppl send asks and messages like ‘hey have u seen this employee it’s my brother/friend/etc’ and they realize shit is actually going#On in here#One night cam is live-blogging their shift and sees a weird intruder in a costume with a knife and runs around eventually escaping and find#Pix lying at the bottom of a stairwell unconscious with a bloody nose later#Takes pix to the hospital. Only to be alone in the plex the next night and suddenly get a phone call saying that pix left the hospital. Bc#Pix left cam as the emergency contact because ‘she didn’t have anyone else’.#Cam has to survive the masked intruder#eventually starts recording everything but when the intruder gets closer the footage gets glitchier#Eventually there’s just one fuzzy image of the intruder with Roxy and Monty standing on either side and that’s the last we hear of cam. Nex#Post is pix saying hehe thanks for following our little story aha !! Bye now it’s over!! And that’s it…..heheheheh#Killer rab blog has become a little boring for me so… might start this soon….#I’d have to make like 2 blogs plus some fake dms too probably . Damn

Played a new tabletop RPG called CAIN last night and it's been living rent-free in my head for the last 24 hours. Genuinely such a simple and engaging system, with just enough lore to inspire you without restricting you.
#rambling and raving#tabletop rpgs#ttrpgs#also when i say “new” i mean it was just published on itch.io a few days ago lol#I mentioned it in a gaming server im in and one of the resident gms got a copy#a few hours later he messaged the server saying‚ “hey im running a oneshot for CAIN this weekend who wants in”#he also plans on running another oneshot in a few weeks for folks who missed out on the first one#btw did i mention the *entire* rulebook is less than 100 pages?#that's pc stuff‚ gm stuff‚ everything. not as intimidating to learn as many other games.#^ ok quick correction from the next day: it's 155 pages. the pdf is formatted a little oddly (each individual page is a two page spread)#and i was looking at the pdf reader's page count which is 82. looking at the actual page numbers in the book it's 155 pages.#so it's bit longer than i first said it was but it's still not especially crunchy or complex

proseka movie was a fun experience. I brought the creature and mizuki. unfortunately no poster or standee displays at my location to take pictures with though 💔
#the movie is okay. overall nothing spectacular imo but it handles the source material as well and faithfully as it could I feel#almost so faithfully that it wounds the runtime a bit by dragging out some parts as some project sekai stories tend to do but whatever#im only fully caught up to nightcord and one year into the rest of the group side stories but I still understood what was going on. so yay#honestly the animated recap shorts they released for journey to bloom could've been played before the movie. that might help newcomers idk#gkids did something like that for promare's release here a few years ago. I wonder why they chose not to for this... strange#mizuki an and ena were in it quite a bit though so im satisfied :] no spoilers but there's some cool stuff it does with the sekai lore too#hopefully one day a movie just about vocal synths will be made somehow. this made me want one even more#not that I dislike proseka but I would like a non-gacha game associated miku/vocaloid movie someday. if that at all would be possible#this movie's message could've stood on its own when told through vocal synths instead of the ocs instead but I digress...#this was still easily one of the most lively moviegoing experiences ive had. I went to the last miku expo and it was comparable#not to the point that it was annoying! thankfully! it was a very packed premiere showing so I was worried a little#I forgot to bring my penlights for the after show... so I waved around the creature instead to not feel left out lol#(I was not alone by the way! lots of people brought plushies and penlights! there was also a lot of project sekai cosplayers)#still amused by the fact that deco wrote each of the group songs. I find them a little more likeable with context now#how many songs have they made recently. ive lost count#meow.txt
