Gothmog, Thuringwethil, and bonus Tevildo
i was digging around in my files and rediscovered some really old silm art of mine, including my original angband trio designs (mostly traced off heroforge models lol):
Tumblr media
and they're actually pretty cool! thuringwethil's tail is maybe a little questionable of a design choice (how are you supposed to fly with a giant tail flopping around...) but it looks really good on gothmog.
i don't really remember what i was doing with sauron (he looks a little like early curufin for unknown reasons) and idk what the wrist things are supposed to be, but Original Flavor Thuringwethil was actually a corrupted maia of manwe (eonwe's sister?), hence the feathers instead of traditional bat wings. for Original Gothmog i am less sure about his origins but he is possibly a corrupted maia of ulmo (originally a sea serpent, hence the tail and ulmo style ear-fins) who basically dried up into a more stone-based serpent
anyways i think I might keep thuringwethil's face/wing design and gothmogs full design for future use

I'm a little curious, how much of Talita's (or centaurs' in general) head and neck is fluff?
Just looking how deep into the fuzz her eyeglass strap sinks when she wears them kinda reminds me of owls, and it got me wondering.
(I remember seeing baby great gray owls at a zoo once. They were at the stage where the facial feather disc had already mostly grown in, but the rest of the head was still sparce baby fluff, and it made them look like they were missing the entire head behind the face. I'm kinda imagining a similar effect.)
Yeah, the back of a centaur's head is mostly air.
Tumblr media
The long mane feathers mask the effect but the only significant organ back there is the vocal lungs, which can puff out the back of the neck even further. Centaurs visibly inhale into their neck before speaking (the effect is especially dramatic before shouting). Inflation is driven by the contraction of a muscle that connects a cartilaginous "diaphragm" to the rear crest of the skull. This lifts the diaphragm perpendicular to the neck and draws air into the lungs. I animated centaur respiration three years ago but the design of the vocal lungs has changed a little since then.... though the lungs still connect to massive sinuses behind the eyes.
Talita's glasses have a strap that sits between the notch created by the back of her skull and the vocal lung diagram. They also have some rubber grippy bands sewn into to keep it from sliding up her mane feathers. It works well enough.

thinking about chip and death now. because he's nineteen. a baby. and all his life, or at least since the hole in the sea, he's been basing his entire personality off the people around him. arlin and price, however inadvertently, turned him into chip the bastard. jay and gillion influenced him to be more caring, so did ollie. seeing lizzie makes him want to become a great captain, a great leader, making those long speeches and looking out for his crew. he's fragments of the people he's surrounded himself with
if he died now, would there have been a chip? a true chip? has there ever been a chip? gillion and jay have things that separate them from the people they're around, things not directly influenced by their past and more just elements of who they are. what does chip have? even now, what does he have that is truly his own? jay has her tinkering. gill sketches sea creatures. chip's pranks are from arlin. you could argue for his fire magic, but even that - or at least the awakening of that - was influenced by gillion. his name is a remnant of his childhood on the midnight rose
i just. i'm so utterly insane about him because even his clothes. it's like a combination of lizzie's original outfit and price's, which i could make a whole other post about. he's so young, he's still basing himself around other people even if it's having a positive effect now. he's a frankenstein already, not quite alive as himself. he had a heart but it beat with the life of others
he's haunted with the spirits and souls of people he's admired. how much of him is actually him and how much is someone else? if he died now, would he die as someone else? has he ever lived as himself?
the heart is often symbolic of feelings and the essence of your life. when it's removed in fantasy settings and the character somehow stays alive, they usually act differently. a part of their self has been taken so something appears wrong
chip's heart was taken and he didn't change. in fact he stayed very much the same. i actually forgot mid-combat that his heart had been taken in the first place. you'd think in the switch from being alive to being undead, something would change. but in a way, maybe chip's always been undead, sewn together by string he's taken from others
this is all very dramatic sounding and honestly a little bit of a stretch, but i can't help it my brain is exploding and all i can see is that one picture of haunted chibo with the fish eye effect. help

dream girl
suna rintaro ending ・ᡣ𐭩
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You look up from your phone as soon as you see Suna’s last message and, sure enough, spot him walking towards you. He looks more rested and relaxed than this morning, and he’s changed out of the sweats and sweatshirt he’d donned, too. You lift your arm up to wave, making sure you catch his attention before dropping it to your side again. “You got here fast,” You tell him as he comes up to you in line. The people behind you are too engrossed in their conversation to notice his appearance or care about it.
“I have a car and live at most five minutes away,” He shrugs. You only hum back in response, taking that as a good enough reason.
Suna and Kunimi nod at each other in greeting, a wordless conversation you’re not privy to passing between them in the couple of seconds of silence. Kunimi shuffles forward when the line moves, and Suna takes that as his cue to relax in his spot with you, his arms laying around your shoulders and his chin resting on top of your head. You can feel the steady warmth of his body against your back. It feels nice, like a comforting blanket.
You never paid attention to how physically close Suna often was with you, how he offered his arm or hand or would relax with his arms against you, or how often the two of you hanging out at his place or your dorm resulted in the two of you cuddling while you did your own things. You wonder, briefly, if he meant anything with those touches or if he was just like that.
Did he also feel like his heart would explode out of his chest, or crave the feeling of being able to call you his like you did?
Did he want something more than just a friendship like you did?
You shuffle your weight between your feet, your body tense for just a second when Suna maneuvers himself against you again.
He presses his cheek to the top of your head, letting out a dramatic groan. “Why do these lines take so long?” He whines playfully, a tone you knew well to mean ‘i want to talk about something but i have nothing to say’.
“Lots of people want their turn,” Kunimi says matter-of-factly from in front of you, glancing over his shoulder. You giggle at the dry tone of his voice. Suna’s arms circle around your shoulders a little tighter, like he was going to hug you, effectively pulling himself closer to your frame. You don’t think anything of it, but you can tell by his body language that he was rolling his eyes. The indignant huff he lets out was also a good indicator.
Before they can go back and forth, you chip in with your own conversation topic, mentioning a couple games you wanted to show Suna before either of you call it a day. You both discuss a loose game plan while the line moves forward, letting Kunimi play his round before it’s your turn. Suna pats your shoulder. “We know what happened last time you tried to play a fair game like this,” He teases with a half-smile, the lazy pull of his lips being enough to quiet your protests. You still roll your eyes and cross your arms over your chest, acting as if you were upset about his comment even if you truly didn’t care. As long as you got your prize, that was what mattered to you.
Suna focuses on the game, but you focus on him, watching as his face falls serious, his eyes squinted into slits of forest green. “Y/n,” You turn your head away as Kunimi calls your name and shows you the keychain he had chosen.
A little stuffed teddy bear was attached to the chain loop, it’s sewn on face looking eerily close to Kunimi’s resting expression. You laugh as he holds it up to his face. “This is ridiculous,” He shakes his head, though he was clearly amused and you could tell.
“Yeah, it looks a little constipated, hm?” Suna’s voice sounds from beside you, and you jump slightly at the proximity. When had he finished playing his game? And what was with his tone?
“Well, that’s just reaching,” You pretend to scold the man, turning back to Kunimi. He was busy affixing the keychain to his car keys, side-eyeing you and Suna for a second before tucking them away in his hoodie. “I think it’s cute,” You add, taking Suna’s hand and leading him away from the game booth before anyone can start to complain about your little trio holding up the line. Suna presses his lips together, but doesn’t respond.
The three of you make a beeline for another game to play, you and Kunimi falling into conversation about which ones look the easiest to beat and get prizes from without having to try too hard. You’d worked out a system for which ones to go for by now, and you were both engrossed in the conversation. It wasn’t until he started lagging behind, tugging your arm as he did so, that you remembered Suna was with you. He had fallen quiet for some reason. You turn to look at him while Kunimi continues walking, raising your brows curiously.
“What?”
“You’re just walking fast,” Suna says, but he’s not looking at you, instead his focus is elsewhere. You frown slightly. You’d spent enough time with the man to know when something was up with him, and usually he didn’t act like this. Being so… distant. And short.
You glance towards Kunimi before tugging Suna’s hand and diverting to a small side alley between two tents, giving you both a second of privacy. “Okay, what’s wrong?” You immediately question before the dark-haired man can question your sudden surge of strength. You place your hands on your hips and raise your brows again, waiting patiently for him to tell you why his behaviour was off. Suna scoffs and shakes his head.
“Nothing’s wrong,”
“You’re being all fidgety,” You point out, “And you have an attitude, which is different than your usual sarcastic i-couldn’t-care-less disposition,” You add quickly, not letting him blow off your concern. Suna remains silent for a moment, but he’s still not meeting your eyes. “Is it Kunimi?”
Now he looks at you, his eyes slightly widened like you’d caught him in a trap.
So that was it.
You sigh. “Come on, Rin, I told you he was fine.. You don’t have to be all hyper-defensive just because he’s here… I mean, you hung out with him before you were ever friends with me, so you don’t have to stop being friends with him just because he messed up with me,” You had to admit that his wariness (or what you assumed was wariness) around the other man was sweet, and it was nice to know he supported you so wholly, but it was a little much given you’d long since forgiven Kunimi of what he’d done. The sting wasn’t there anymore, the hurt of what he’d done and said had been soothed with his genuine actions.
“It’s..” Suna once again presses his lips together, an internal struggle going on within his mind that you can’t decipher. He seems to take a moment to debate his words, stepping closer after a beat of silence. “It’s not about that,” He finally admits, his voice quiet. Your brows pull together, furrowed in confusion.
“What is it about, then?” You ask.
Suna looks at you now, his concentration fully on you. You realise he hadn’t met your eyes fully this whole time, and you feel your breath catch in your throat. His eyes are raw, sparkling with some emotion and feeling that you recognise but can’t name (don’t want to name. don’t want to give yourself false hope). “Y/n, come on…” He’s even quieter, even closer. You didn’t realise the little amount of space between the both of you until you felt his chest brush against yours, his shoes prodding your own.
Words seem to get lost in your brain and any questions or statements you might come up with die on the tip of your tongue. Nothing seems to matter when you’re under Suna’s gaze, his face soft and earnest as he looks at you. Your heart is racing again, the buzz on your skin familiar and insistent, letting any doubts or what-if’s dissipate.
It comes to you.
“Are you jealous of him, Rin?” You tilt your head to the side just slightly, a teasing upturn to your lips. He rolls his eyes and looks away from you.
“Please–”
“You totally are!” You reach up to lightly slap his chest, giggling uncontrollably as the realisation hits you. It seemed so… silly to you, for him to be jealous of Kunimi. Was it not obvious that you had fallen for him? It was hard not to have. He had been there for everything, had grounded you when your entire world seemed so shaky, and had kept you company even when you thought everybody would want nothing to do with you. He knocked sense into you, kept you in check, and had been supportive of everything you’d done. And all he’d ask of you was a little bit of time together, when you’d have given him the stars in the sky if he desired them.
He huffs when you finally calm your giggles, your hands having rested on his shoulders now, pulling the both of you even closer. “You’re such a dork,” You tell him. “But if it wasn’t obvious…” You swallow down the nerves and potential anxiety of this blowing up in your face, finding it easy to ignore when he lifted his eyebrows curiously, his expression full of as much hope as yours. “I like you,” You confess, almost a whisper.
Suna’s expression doesn’t change much, but you can tell that he finally processes it when his eyes widen slightly, darting around your face like he was checking for discrepancies in your features. “Oh thank god,” He whispers, leaning forward. You feel the distant closing between you both and, then, he’s kissing you quickly.
It’s insistent and deep as he presses his lips against your own, perfectly finding the pieces to fit himself into you. His hands cup your face, keeping you close and stealing the air from your lungs. You kiss him back with no hesitation, pushing yourself onto your toes, into him, into his space like you couldn’t get enough.
And by god, it was everything.
Click!
The sound of a shutter clicking pulls you both from the kiss and you snap your head to the side, your cheeks flushed a bright red and your eyes wide like you were caught in a scandalous act. You kind of were, if you think about it.. Kunimi stands a couple feet away with a lazy grin on his face, his phone held up as he snaps a couple more pictures, giggling to himself. “I was waiting for you two idiots to catch on,” He mumbles, shaking his head in faux exasperation…

Hello *dramatic pause* it's me, your majesty. May I request whatever scp or facility staff member you want with a reader who loves crocheting, knitting, sewing and stuff like that. And the reader makes little crocheted plushies of there friends and all of them sit on there own shelf in the readers office. A little shelf that is just designated for the readers friends. Like they are well made and even have nice details like a small version of Dr. Brights necklace, a small scarf for Iceberg, Dr. Clefs doll has a matching hat with his sandals, that sort of thing.
Thank you very much, you do gods work for us.
*casually bows* of course your majesty
Tumblr media
Enjoy scps and scp staff with a reader who loves crocheting, sewing and knitting!
(Ambrose replaces Shaw/Bright)
Dr. Jack Ambrose
Tumblr media
-So Jack knows about your 'secret' love for crocheting, He actually *jokingly* asked for things from you all the time
-she likes collecting lil trinkets and loves giving you a 'break' to enjoy what you love
-they have a lil shelf in his office with the lil trinkets you made for him, there's all sorts of things up there
-a lil crochet turtle, a lil version of her along with the necklace, and a lil crotchet 999
-He loves having you in their office while you crotchet, she'll crack jokes about you reminding him about her grandma and needing to get you a 'rocker'
-but he still likes seeing you relax even if he really can't.
Dr Clef
Tumblr media
-Clef used to poke fun at your lil sewing hobby, he'd always call you an 'oldie' for it
-but then you gave him a little plushie made to look like him, he didn't know what to do with it first but he liked it
-he still poked fun at your hobby but he kept the lil doll on his desk, he even called it 'mini asshole'
-recently he even started asking for sewn stuff from you, which included: a shotgun cozy, a pair of gloves, and a lil sewn doll of 166 (and he specifically asked for you to NOT tell anyone about his 166 request)
-he has all your lil sewn things around his office, he specifically has his and 166s doll sitting somewhere on his desk
Dr Glass
Tumblr media
-Glass actually encourages you to keep up your knitting hobby, he especially encourages it inside his office.
-he doesn't know many employees who have a 'healthy' coping mech, so when he was asking about yours and yours was..well normal he was actually genuinely happy that he could finally tell someone that their coping mech was good!
-he especially loves it when you come to his office giving him lil things you made, he still has a scarf somewhere you made for him
-he proudly wears whatever you give him, like right now as he walks down the site-19 hallway with his new lil knitted hat
Dr Rights
Tumblr media
-Rights at first didn't really care much about your Lil hobby, after all it didn't really effect her
-she'd just see you and shrug, until you gave her something one day. A lil crotchet bunny
-the thing was so adorable in her mind and she absolutely loves it
-the lil bunny you made her has a lil place on her desk, and that's the only thing she really has from you
-she doesn't really ask for anything from you, she feels you'll just make something for her whenever you want to
Iceberg
Tumblr media
-Iceberg actually laughed at your hobby calling it 'dumb' and a 'waste of time'
-he didn't think anymore on it nor did he really care when you looked upset over him mocking your knitting hobby
-but then one day as he walked into his freezing cold office he noticed a new scarf laying on his desk.
-he didn't ask for one, nor did he order one. Where the hell did it come from??
-as he held it he could see it was knitted and he only knew one person who could knit..you.
-he wears the scarf but he reminds you daily that your hobby is still dumb (but secretly he likes it and how you thought of him, he might start asking for stuff in the future lol)
Dr Gerald
Tumblr media
-Gerald has AWFUL bad luck, everyone knows this. So he didn't exactly trust himself around your hobby.
-especially since that hobby included yarn (which could choke him) needles (that could stab him) and you which could..uh hurt him!
-so he stayed far away from you, so far in fact he even fell down the stairs just trying to avoid you
-one day though as he just left the medical wing for the 5th time that day, you were standing outside holding something.
-he stared at you before you just kinda blocked his view of your face with the thing in your hands
-you had made him a lil 'good luck charm' of him, he calls it that but his bad luck is still there.
-he carries it around with him usually keeping it in his pocket.
Dr Kondraki
Tumblr media
-Kondraki doesn't mind your hobby, hell everyone has their own hobby
-he doesn't mind when you sit in his office and sew away, even asking him on what you should make
-he'll usually shrug with a "i don't know..a scarf?"
-you never listen to his requests since he requests the same thing every.damn.time.
-you did make him a drink cozy though which he does like, oh! And you made him a lil 408 plush which the lil swarm like
Dr Talloran
Tumblr media
-Tallorans life isn't all to easy, not at all.
-they actually enjoy your company especially when you bring something 'normal' to the table
-they love whenever you bring your crocheting supplies to their dorm, they also sometimes try to crotchet with you happy to do something 'normal'
-you've both actually made things for each other, you made them a lil scarf and they made you a lil messy 'blanket'
-the blanket hardly covers you so you just use it on your office chair
Draven Kondraki
Tumblr media
-Draven has had an awful life and a busy schedule, if he isn't making sure his dad is still a functioning adult. He's on the battlefield in some unknown area to catch some unknown being
-so when he learned about your lil hobby and asked to chill with him while you knit, he almost threw you in his dorm
-He's just super happy there's someone NORMAL here (no offense to Talloran)
-he likes to sit near you as you knit and keeps anything you make him <3
Mikell Ambrose (dang no more gifs guys)
-Mikell doesn't mind your lil hobby, in fact he kinda enjoys it
-says you remind him of his mother whenever he see's you sitting and crocheting something
-he asks for stuff from you all the time which range from blankets to lil dolls
-he doesn't wear any of this stuff to work, but he keeps it usually either in his office or at home.
Administrator (in my own au lol)
-Admin loves gifts from all sorts of people, but sadly he usually doesn't get any since he is usually who knows where
-the time he decided to go undercover at the foundation and meet you, he adored your lil hobby
-he asks for all sorts of stuff from you, mainly to just keep you occupied as he knows you could use the distraction
-he'll usually sit next to you and have his arm drapped over you (whether you two are romantic or not, He's just a touchy person) while you crotchet away
-after his time being undercover at the Foundation is over, he'll leave but he'll make sure to take at least one of the things you made him
035
-035 sees your hobby as 'unnecessary' and even calls it boring
-he'll watch you sew away and act all dramatic about it, he'll sigh loudly, over exaggerate his voice and complain
-"are you done yet? I'm bored." "What are you making? It looks awful."
-you made him a lil hat and he hates it, especially when the other researchers laugh about it
049
-049 enjoys your company, especially since it's so friendly
-he lets you stay in his containment cell as you knit away, he even requests some things from you
-he has a lil blanket, a lil plague doctor plush and a scarf he keeps for 'when winter comes'
-He's even been wanting to learn how to knit so he can make some things for you, but it's kinda hard😅
Hope you enjoy!!
(If y'all have character requests do give em, only requests i won't take are literal animals or children lol)

Dance the night away
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In July I went dancing with my friends! I don't go out like that often, but when I do I enjoy myself a lot. We went to a goth club called "Fledermaus" (=bat), which is just a very chill and cool place!!
I like how ethereal this pictures came out - no sharpness and clear focus. They show the energy of the night, the fleetingness and transience. I'm in a liminal space, between the reality of the day and the dreams you have at night!
[id] Picture 1 shows a mannequin sitting on a swing hanging from the ceiling. It's wearing a big feathery boa, lacey fishnet tights, sunglasses and a hat. It's looking very fancy indeed! You can see dramatic curtains in the background.
Picture 2: A selfie of Amy pointing at herself with a finger. Amy is a young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair. She's wearing all black and the surrounding area is dark as well.
Picture 3 to 5 show Amy "dancing" at the subway station. The dancing effect actually comes from her dashing in view of the self-timer. Amy is a young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair (which she's wearing open for once, but twisted together and slung over her shoulder). She's wearing all black, a black shirt with little silver crosses on it and a black cardigan that her grandma once commented with "you look like a bat wearing that!". On the bottom is an asymetrical handmade skirt which was made from band tshirts sewn together with black jersey fabric and black lace. She's also wearing knee-length black leggins under the skirt and black sandals. [/id]

The new student arrives (Kyoya Ootori OHHC)
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome to my very first ever fanfic! I’ve written countless fanfics but never actually posted them. I’ve also been in a huge ouran brainrot lately so to satisfy my boredom and brainrot I've decided to write this story.
Just a few things before getting started:
- English is not my main language, it is a secondary language to me so please if you see any grammatical errors ignore them
- this isn’t a y/n story i unironically find y/n stories difficult to write. this is a story of a pairing with an OC i created but you can pretend it’s you and change the name as you please.
- i imagined writing this in a movie/series script type of way it makes it easier for me to know who’s going to talk and how the story should go.
- please be kind i am very new to this so any good and constructive criticism is much appreciated!
without further ado, enjoy the story!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tamaki:
Welcome to Ouran Academy the place where the filthy rich kids go to play and relax on their rich kid duties. Only the wealthiest of the wealthiest can afford to apply here, of course with the exception of Haruhi Fujioka. Oh, Haruhi…
Haruhi:
“Senpai, can you please stop staring at me that way? It’s… weird…”
Tamaki snapped away from his thoughts and looked away hiding the tiny blush that appeared on his cheeks. Haruhi rolled her eyes at Tamaki, who always acted that way around her. She usually just dismissed him as clinically crazy. Haruhi was cleaning and tidying up the Host club room before they could officially open to the public but the reason she was doing it was because she had another task in hand. The other members seemed to notice this.
Kyoya:
Is everything alright, Haruhi? You seem to be in quite the hurry
This made her stop midway her cleaning spree.
Haruhi:
I’m sorry but I forgot to mention that the principal wanted me to give the new student a tour of Ouran before the bell rang.
Hikaru:
A new kid? Are they a first year or a second year?
Honey:
What if they’re in their third year?
Haruhi:
No. She’s a second year student.
Kaoru:
Wait… SHE?! The new student is a she?
Haruhi:
At least that’s what she implied when I met her yesterday
Kaoru:
You got to meet the new kid before anyone else?
Haruhi:
Yeah and she’s really nice too. She’s around Kyoya and Tamaki’s age.
Kyoya:
Oh really? Maybe you can introduce her to us
Haruhi:
No way in hell i am
Tamaki dramatically gasped loudly and turned pale as a ghost. Haruhi stared at him deadpanned. She never knows why he always has to do that dramatic effect.
Tamaki:
BUT WHY NOT? DO YOU NOT LOVE US HARUHI?
Haruhi:
No offense to Tamaki but the reason I don't want to introduce her to you guys is because I want a friend outside the host club, you know? It’s not that i don't want to introduce her but if i do you’ll just embarrass me and scare her off.
Tamaki’s eyes shimmered with glee
Tamaki:
Ah, but my dear Haruhi, that’s where you're wrong! My charm knows no bounds and my princely ways are sure enough to charm her!
Hikaru knudges Kaoru
Hikaru:
It seems to me Tamaki has found his new target
Kaoru chuckled in agreement.
Kaoru:
I can already imagine the over-the-top theatrics he’ll put up for her
Kyoya, the ever composed one, chimed in with a hint of enthusiasm.
Kyoya:
Now, It’s up to Haruhi if she wishes to bring her new friend. But I do advise if she’s not the theatrical type do not bring her.
Honey, who was still clinging on to his stuffed pink bunny, piped in with his sugary sweet voice
Honey:
I think it would be nice to have a new friend, especially if she’s around our age, right Takashi?
Mori-senpai who was quiet the whole conversation but listening attentively nodded in agreement.
Tamaki:
Do you know her name?
Haruhi shook her head.
Haruhi:
She never told me her name. All I know about her name is that in almost every piece of her clothing has an acronym sewn in. Other than that? Nothing.
—-------------------------------------------------
Disgusting. Putrid. Horrifying. Bright. Ugly yellow dress. Out of all the private schools he could’ve enrolled me in, it just had to be the one with the most atrocious uniform I had ever seen in my life. This color matched with nothing. I hate the white ruffles underneath it and the pink bowtie on top. Simply atrocious.
Uncle Hiroshi:
I believe you’ll love your new school.
Luz:
What makes you think that? The only reason I’m here is to please you and the family.
The harshness in her voice made his forced smile drop. He stared at his shoes trying to figure out what words to say.
Uncle Hiroshi:
Need I remind you it’s not my fault we are in this situation.
His words hung in the air leaving a thick tension between them, causing tension between him and Luz.
Luz frowned at his words. Feeling a surge of anger bubble up inside of her.
Luz:
Of course. I know it’s my fault. I’m well aware of that situation but just because I'm aware of it doesn’t mean I can't be angry.
Hiroshi:
You? Angry? Don’t be so childish. I have every right to be angry and rightfully so. Have you any idea what I did for you?
She scoffed and rolled her eyes at him.
Luz:
Any idea?... Any idea? You didn’t even fucking bother in listening to my side of the story, you believed theirs but what about me? You never cared. No one in the family fucking cared. You act so high and fucking might pretending I should be thanking you? For what?
Hiroshi:
VIVIENNE.
His voice cut through the air like a knife. Stern and Terrifying. The fury was visible in his eyes and face.
She stayed quiet breathing heavily through her nose like an angered bull.
Luz:
Don’t act like I didn’t overhear what the family said about me. I. Heard. Everything.
Uncle Hiroshi’s face went pale as her words cut through him like a sharp knife. He was so taken aback he couldn’t say anything back to her.
Luz:
You’re just like him.
Hiroshi:
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
His words felt pungent and repulsive. She hated being compared to her father.
Luz’s eyes narrowed with a mix of anger and hurt as Hiroshi’s response hit her like a sharp dagger.
Luz:
Don’t you ever fucking compare me to that bag of shit. I am my own person, my own choices and my own fucking values. Just because we share the same blood doesn’t mean I’m destined to repeat his actions.
Luz's anger burned hot within her, fueling her every movement. She couldn't bear to stay in the car any longer, surrounded by her uncles toxic presence. Slamming the door shut with a resounding thud, she took a step away, distancing herself physically from him.
Without another word, Luz turned away and headed towards the entrance of Ouran Academy, her steps filled with determination and a newfound strength. She knew that she had to forge her own path, away from the toxic influences that threatened to overshadow her true identity.
Hiroshi watched her retreating figure, his heart heavy with the weight of his mistakes. He knew that repairing their relationship would require much more than mere apologies. It would take time, effort, and a genuine willingness to understand and support Luz on her own terms.
As Luz entered the grand doors of Ouran Academy, she took a deep breath, letting the determination within her rise to the surface. She was determined to prove her worth, not just to Hiroshi or her family, but to herself. And with every step she took, she vowed to leave behind the shadows of her past and embrace the person she truly was—a person capable of breaking free from the cycle of pain and disappointment.
As Luz stepped into the bustling halls of Ouran Academy, the sudden silence that fell around her was almost deafening. Conversations halted, and curious gazes turned towards her, studying her every move. It was as if time stood still for a moment, and all eyes were on the newcomer who dared to stand out from the crowd.
Luz could feel the weight of their stares, the whispers that traveled through the air like a current. She was acutely aware of being different, of not fitting into the mold of the typical Ouran student. Her appearance, her background, everything about her seemed to set her apart.
The students exchanged glances, curiosity mixed with a hint of intrigue. They were used to the elite, the wealthy, and the privileged, but Luz was a refreshing change. A ripple of whispers followed in her wake as she walked, a blend of curiosity, speculation, and perhaps even admiration.
Luz caught snippets of their hushed conversations, whispers of her uniqueness and unfamiliarity. Some seemed intrigued, eager to learn more about her. Others held a hint of skepticism, unsure of how to place her in their well-defined social hierarchy.
Haruhi:
Excuse me, Luz?
Luz turned around, relief washing over her as she recognized Haruhi's familiar face amidst the sea of curious onlookers. Haruhi's presence offered a sense of familiarity and comfort in the midst of the overwhelming attention.
Luz nodded, a small smile gracing her lips.
Luz:
Yes, that's me. It's good to see a familiar face. Thank you for remembering me, Haruhi.
Haruhi returned her smile warmly, unaffected by the surrounding scrutiny.
Haruhi:
No problem at all, Luz. I'm glad I ran into you. I can show you to your classroom and help you settle in. Ouran can be quite overwhelming at first, but you'll find your way around soon enough.
Luz:
Of course. Lead the way.
As Luz walked alongside Haruhi, the whispers of the students echoed in her ears, and she couldn't help but catch fragments of their conversations. The focus on her appearance, specifically her skin color, stung with a mix of discomfort and frustration. It seemed that her uniqueness had become a topic of scrutiny and judgment for those around her.
The comments about her skin color, ranging from judgmental to dismissive, highlighted the ignorance and prejudice that still existed within the walls of the prestigious Ouran Academy. It served as a reminder that even in such an elite setting, stereotypes and biases could persist.
Luz's steps faltered for a moment as she absorbed the weight of those words. It was disheartening to realize that her worth was being reduced to superficial judgments, overshadowing her talents, intellect, and individuality.
Luz closed her eyes trying not to focus on their words. She just wanted to get to her first class and be nothing, a ghost.
Kyoya:
Ah, fancy bumping into you Haruhi. Who this might be?
Luz and Haruhi turned their attention to Kyoya, who appeared unexpectedly in the hallway. Haruhi greeted him with a friendly smile, while Luz took a moment to observe him, her curiosity piqued.
Haruhi:
Good morning, Kyoya. This is Luz, a new student here at Ouran Academy. Luz, this is Kyoya Ootori, one of the members of the Host Club.
Luz:
Good morning. It is a pleasure to meet you.
She says a bit flat to him. Kyoya couldn’t help but notice her eyes, they seemed so empty and tired.
Kyoya:
Say Luz, do you wish to accompany me to the academy’s cafe? They have delicious pastries and coffee.
Luz considered Kyoya's offer, feeling a mixture of curiosity and the need for a much-needed energy boost. She appreciated his gesture and the opportunity to explore more of the school's offerings.
Luz:
Thank you for the offer, Kyoya. I could use a pick-me-up, and I've heard great things about the cafe here. I'd be happy to accompany you... only if it's okay with Haruhi. She was going to take me to my first class today.
Kyoya:
Hm… may I see your schedule?
A bit confused at his request she handed him her schedule for the day. Luz considered Kyoya's offer, feeling a mixture of curiosity and the need for a much-needed energy boost. She appreciated his gesture and the opportunity to explore more of the school's offerings.
Her schedule consisted mainly of focus on the arts, her strong suit. She was a very creative and artistic person, not to mention she also has a deep and profound love for music. Ever since she was little she surrounded herself with music and insisted on learning to play the instruments, sing, read and write notes. Her first class would be advanced music class with the history of music and its appreciation, English Literature, Then later it was practicing her German, and then finally it was advanced art.
Kyoya carefully examined the schedule she had.
Kyoya:
If it’s not a bother to Haruhi I could even take you to your class after we finish at the cafe. If that is alright with you, Haruhi.
Haruhi:
Oh, that would actually be perfect! Kyoya knows Ouran better than I do.
Luz was a bit hesitant at first but she ultimately agreed to grab coffee with Kyoya. Kyoya nodded, his usual calm demeanor unchanged.
Kyoya:
Very well. Let's head to the cafe then. Shall we?
Kyoya extended his arm for Luz to hold onto.
Luz hesitated for a moment, finding Kyoya's gesture of extending his arm a bit unexpected. However, she reminded herself that it was a common practice among the students at Ouran, a display of elegance and formality. With a slight blush tinting her cheeks, she gently wrapped her hands around Kyoya's arm, allowing him to lead the way.
Haruhi gave her a small piece of paper to which she said it contained her phone number.
H:
Call me if you get lost or need someone to talk to. I’m always available. See you around!
Kyoya:
Shall we?
As they walked together, Luz couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and anticipation. She found herself observing the dynamics of the school, the interactions between students, and the vibrant atmosphere that surrounded her. The touch of Kyoya's arm provided a sense of security amidst the bustling hallways.
Arriving at the cafe, Luz let go of Kyoya's arm and took a moment to soak in the inviting ambiance. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of delectable pastries filled her senses, heightening her excitement for the culinary experience ahead.
Luz:
Kyo-
She stopped for a moment not knowing if to approach him by his name or not.
Kyoya:
Yes? Don’t be scared of saying my name.
Luz:
Okay, Kyoya, what do you recommend I eat?
Kyoya:
Well my personal favorite is the strawberry tart. I love having it with a warm cup of tea.
Luz:
I think I’ll have that and the croissant with a white chocolate blueberry iced coffee.
Kyoya nodded approvingly, signaling to the waiter to place their orders. As they waited for their treats to arrive, Luz found herself observing Kyoya more closely. There was a certain air of mystery and intellect that surrounded him, and she couldn't help but be intrigued.
Kyoya: I noticed that most of your classes are mostly in the arts. Do you like that?
Luz nodded, a smile playing at the corners of her lips
Luz:
Yes, I do. It was actually my mother that raised me that way. She’s an artist too.
Kyoya listened attentively, his gaze focused on her as if he were unraveling the layers of her being through her words.
Kyoya:
Do you sing or play instruments?
Luz:
I used to
Kyoya:
Why is that?
Luz:
I- um…
She looks down a bit uncomfortable. Kyoya, noticing this, dismissed it and changed the topic of the conversation.
Kyoya:
Please excuse manners but it seems I never introduced myself. My name is Kyoya Ootori. I am the youngest son of my family.
Luz:
You have siblings?
He nods
Kyoya:
Two older brothers, Akito and Yuuichi.
Luz:
I have siblings as well but unlike you I’m actually the eldest. I have four sisters and one brother.
Their conversation was interrupted by the waiter bringing their food. When Luz took the first bite of the strawberry tart and her iced coffee she felt like she was melting. It passed her expectations. The combination of the sweet and tangy strawberry filling with the buttery crust was a delightful treat for her taste buds. She couldn't help but let out a satisfied sigh.
Kyoya:
I’ll take a guess and say you like the food?
She nods.
Luz:
It’s so delicious. It’s the best coffee and pastry I've ever had!
Kyoya chuckled softly, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes as he watched Luz enjoy the food.
They both finished their treats and prepared to leave the cafe, the pleasant conversation lingering in the air. As they both walked down the halls Kyoya would tell her quick shortcuts to arrive at her classrooms so she could avoid student traffic.
From the corner of his eye he noticed her scarf had something written on it.
Kyoya:
Pardon my intrusion but what does this stand for?
He gently passes his thumb over the small purple stitchings.
Luz:
Oh, that? It’s an acronym of my name. My mom used to do that to all of my clothes
  Kyoya:
What does the V stand for?
Luz:
Vivienne. It’s my first name.
Kyoya's eyes flickered with intrigue as he listened to Luz's explanation. He found himself captivated by the little details that made her who she was. Kyoya had always been observant, seeking meaning in every aspect of people's lives. Luz's scarf, with its embroidered initials, piqued his curiosity further.
Kyoya:
Vivienne... It's a beautiful name. Unique and elegant, just like you.
Luz's cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Luz:
Thank you… no one has ever said that about my name before…
Kyoya's eyes sparkled with a hint of playfulness as he responded.
Kyoya:
I must admit, Luz, your name holds a certain elegance and beauty that befits you. It's a pleasure to have met someone as captivating as you, with a name that holds such charm. It's a rare find in a place like Ouran.
Luz blushed slightly at his words, feeling a mixture of flattery and intrigue.
Luz could feel her heart gaining speed by the second. She didn’t know how to respond so he nervously chuckled.
 Luz:
Oh stop you don't mean that
Kyoya chuckled softly, a subtle glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
Kyoya:
On the contrary, Luz, I assure you that I do mean every word. I have a keen eye for appreciating genuine beauty and uniqueness, and in you, I see both. Your name is just the beginning of the many intriguing qualities that make you who you are.
Luz's cheeks turned a deeper shade of pink as she tried to compose herself.
 Luz: well- I- um...
Kyoya: This will be your classroom as of now. she was snapped back to reality when they arrived at her music classroom.
Kyoya's voice brought Luz back to the present, and she glanced at the door of her music classroom, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Luz:
Thank you for bringing me to my classroom today, and for the cafe. Hopefully we’ll see each other around?
Kyoya's gaze met Luz's, a mischievous glimmer in his eyes as a faint smile curved his lips.
Kyoya:
Of course, Luz. I believe our paths will cross again in this vast academy. I look forward to our future encounters.
His voice held a subtle undertone of flirtation, leaving Luz both intrigued and flustered. He gently raised her hand to his lips and with a delicate touch, he pressed a soft kiss against her gloved knuckles , a gesture both elegant and chivalrous. Luz's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected display of affection, her cheeks flushing with a deeper shade of pink.
The gentle touch sending shivers down her spine. She found herself momentarily captivated by his charm and the unexpected display of gallantry. Her mind buzzed with a whirlwind of emotions, a mixture of flattery and curiosity.
With a shy smile, she withdrew her hand, feeling a lingering warmth where his lips had touched.  She stood there, her hand tingling from his touch, a mixture of surprise and intrigue filling her thoughts. She watched him walk away, her mind buzzing with the memory of his lips on her skin, wondering what this encounter might mean for their future interactions.

Hi hello for the Tav questions i want to ask 8., 10., 26. and 31. :)
Hi hello!!! Yes absolutely
8: What deity, if any, does your character worship?
Oooh this is a fun one because the answer is many!!
Mosslark pays regular respect to:
Leira, Lady of Mists, goddess of deception and liars
Tymora, Lady of Luck
Beshaba, The Maid of Misfortune
Loviatar, Maiden of Pain
Eldath, The Quiet One, goddess of peace and calm waters
Erevan Ilesere, The Fey Jester
Mosslark once worshiped Sehanine Moonbow, but after the death of their sister, they cannot bring themselves too.
They once also regularly did prayers to Mystra for the purpose of their dayjob providing +1 enchantments to finished wizard robes, but they cannot bring themselves to do that anymore, either.
10: If your Tav didn’t become an adventurer, what else would they be doing?
If I assume that they had to do something other than their job or being forced into civic leadership that would crush them into a fine paste - I think they would have eventually vanished into the feywild, at about age 89 or so, to seek a face to face meeting with their patron and become part of his entourage.
26:  What is the most prominent color in your Tav’s color scheme?
Violet, by far.
31: How does your Tav dress for different occasions, like very fancy situations?
EHEHEHE
Okay so: Mosslark is a practical creature with a vain streak that's really more of a chasm. They are also at the start of the game very very self-conscious.
All their clothes are perfectly fitted, but most of their day to day wear disguises their form. They tailor their travel gear to make themselves look shorter, scrawnier than they are. They wear fairly plain overshirts with tight undergarments that have a restricting effect.
In moments of safety or if there's a need to dress up, they have a love for richly dyed silks and genuine metallic thread embroidery. They covet peacock feather embroidery very much.
A description of their current nicest outfit that they were wearing when abducted and put on the nautiloid from a recent chapter of Earnest Eyes:
"There were three pieces to the ensemble.
A light, airily woven linen shirt in a soft grey. Its sleeves were voluminous at the shoulders, whose seams were set halfway down the joint. They gathered in neat tucks at the halfway point of what would be the upper arm, and the rest of the sleeve was sleek with long, button up cuffs. It had a high, rounded collar that would lace to rest just under the basin at the root of their throat. But it was also very wide, which he took note of.
It was a cut that would make their shoulders look broader, but also rounder.
The torso was without shaping seams, a boxy cut that could be belted as needed.
It is, naturally, perfectly sized to fit them, and he has no difficulty whatsoever getting it over their head thanks to that widened collar.
The trousers were long things, almost snowdrop shaped beneath the knee but precisely tight along the rest of the body. Their material was a very well worn dark grey canvas exterior, and what felt like a satin lining.
Turning the bottom hem inside out for a moment had revealed the colour of that lining to be a peacock green, which he had appreciated.
The trousers were fastened at the front with six silver topped buttons, the filigree sewn onto them a match for his warlock's horn charms.
The next piece of clothing he had eased them into was a dramatic, low-cut vest. It fastened near the navel, and was a garment so fine that he had spent a minute just running his fingers over the still slightly stained silk brocade in deep envy.
Its base fabric was near black, and it had been intricately embroidered with what he could instantly tell under his fingertips were real silver threads. There was an entire landscape conveyed across both of the front panels, perfectly balanced on each side. A forest floor, with thick waves of moss and rising, tall trees that reached their apex near the shoulder seams. Birds seemed to be flying across the vest when he buttoned it closed."
That's pretty emblematic of the kind of thing they like to wear - though this was made as a joint effort by many members of their family. Left to their own devices they prefer purple, teal, and peacock blue as the base colours for their garments!

First part for tonight. I will be numbering them for ya @gyubby99
"What?" Mia asked. "Ella why would you make that deal!?" She yelled, shaking her sister by her shoulders. "I cant let anything happen to my kingdom... or any of you." Ella replied as she looked at Elias. He looked away, guiltily. "Ella we dont have an army! How exactly do you plan on winning?!" Mia yelled. Loreley looked at mia fondly as if she was a lovestruck idiot. Alruna poked loreley and nothing happened. "Um... why is she staring at me?" Mia asked, blushing. "I... think shes in love." Alruna stated. "I'm not in love! Who said I was in love? Not me!" Loreley snapped out of it. The group laughed. "Okay we need to focus. Ella could get seriously hurt!" Elias concentrated. "Alruna.. Loreley... how many trained fighters do you know?" Ella asked. "As many as there are people in this whole kingdom." Loreley stated. "How fast can they get here?" Ella asked. "Well.... most of them live close by. At least for me they do." Alruna replied. Ella nodded and turned to Loreley. "I could get mine here by the time the fight starts... mostly for dramatic effect." Stated loreley. "And most of my father's people are brave and wont run from a fight. Not to mention our guards." Mia put in. "And I know a few fellow hard workers who owe me and my cousin a favor or two." Elias stated. Ella nodded to all of them. "Let's start recruiting." She said before walking away back to her castle. Minutes later Ella sat on her bed, her head hanging as she messed with a small blanket her mother had made for her before she had died. "Dont you worry mother. I'll get father back and make you proud.... I just.... all i wanted to do was be a good queen... on my own... and look where I ended up." Ella whispered. She brought the blanket to her face and breathed in. The blanket smelled of Roses and honey, her mother's perfume and scent. The blanket was a knitted purple and blue and it was only big enough to cradle a small baby. It had Ella's name on the side, sewn in a light lavender purple. Ella folded the blanket up and put it in her large memory chest next to her door. She ran her fingers over the top of the chest, it had her name engraved onto it. Ella maria Alden Ella read in her mind.

Toile Construction
Here I have started to make my toile out of calico so that I can figure out my pattern pieces and how I would make my final dress.
To start with I traced around the basic dress and sleeve block.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the dress pattern I readapted the bodice to add style line and create a new neckline as well as the basque hemline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I then cut the pieces out ready to remove the dart and cut out of calico with a 1cm seam allowance.
Tumblr media
Once all the pieces were cut out a sewed the side fronts to the centre fronts and overlocked and pressed I then sewed the side back to the back x2 and overlocked and pressed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I then sewed the front and back together at the shoulder and side then overlocked and pressed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next I moved on to the sleeves. I wasn’t too sure on how to make the sleeves so had to experiment a lot to make it look how I wanted.
Sleeve attempt number 1
For the first attempt I cut out a basic short sleeve ending just above the elbow in which I have kept using through all my sleeves. For the flared bit I cut out a large rectangle in which I could then cut the curve in however it didn’t turn out how I thought as it looked very flat and I wanted it more textured.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sleeve attempt number 2
For my second attempt my tutor created this fuller version to help me try and figure out how I wanted it look in which turned out a lot better however I wanted the top to attach and create a little ledge,
Sleeve attempt number 3
For my third attempt I used the pattern bellow experimented with a lip at the top and a curved edge . I repeated this 3 times and each time getting slightly smaller to create a tiered effect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I overlocked around the edge and hemmed it and then gathered around the top.
Tumblr media
I pinned it to my manikin to get a feel for how it would look before I sewed it but I’m not to sure if I like how it turned out as it looks a bit heavy. I tried it with the opening facing both ways as initially I wanted the opening to be on the outside however I feel it falls a lot better when the opening is inwards like in the picture on the right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sleeve attempt number 4
For this sleeve I experimented with moving the arm whole onto the side which is on the fold so that the fabric falls more dramatically however this time I tried with two layers rather than three. I think this attempt looks a bit lighter and flows better however I’m still not sure and once I’ve gathered and sewn it properly it might turn out better.
Tumblr media
(Attempt 4 = sleeve on the left)
(Attempt 3 = sleeve on the right)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sticking with sleeve attempt number 4 I constructed the whole sleeve however I came to realise the seam at the top just seamed too obvious and made the design look messy, therefore as shown below I decide to cut it to create these rounded edges in which I actually really like the look of and am very happy with how it turned out. So after slightly adapting my patterns I cut out the pieces for my second sleeve. To get the full effect of what it would look like with the appliqué flowers I intend to sew around the top I pinned a fabric flower I had onto the sleeve in which I love the look of and think it really pulls the design together.
Tumblr media
Once I was happy with the sleeves I sewed them into the bodice with a 1cm seam allowance and the bodice facing the machine bed.
Tumblr media
Next I moved on to drafting the facings for the bodice however when I pinned them into place the front facing was way too small and the seam didn’t line up with the shoulder seams so I’m going to have to re draft that with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving on to the skirt with the help of my tutor I drafted all the pieces for the back and the tiered front of the skirt leaving only the front two opening pieces to draft. I did this by starting with a basic block skirt pattern and then added 45cm onto the end to make it hit the floor and become full length. Then I added gathers to the top and fullness to the bottom to create this larger exaggerated silhouette of the Georgian Period.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next I cut all the pieces out in calico ready to sew together.
Tumblr media
For the tiers I had to sew the front tier to the two side tiers and repeated this four times for each tier. For the back of the skirt I sewed the back to the side back twice to create each piece and then pinned it all onto my manikin to get an idea of what it would it is looking like so far in which I am very happy with the result as shown below.

Braids Pipping and Fringes: Elevate Your Craft with Ease
Tumblr media
At Indian Laces and Fabric, we understand the power of embellishments. They can transform a simple garment or home décor project into a stunning masterpiece. Three techniques that reign supreme in the world of adornment are braids, piping, and fringes. Each offers unique visual interest and functionality, and mastering their application unlocks a treasure trove of creative possibilities.
This comprehensive guide dives deep into the world of braids, piping, and fringes. We'll explore their history, types, uses, and most importantly, how to incorporate them seamlessly into your projects. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a curious beginner, this blog post will equip you with the knowledge and inspiration to elevate your creations.
Braids: A Timeless Tale of Interwoven Beauty
Braids have captivated humanity for millennia. Evidence of braided hair and textiles dates back to ancient civilizations across the globe, from Egypt and China to Africa and Europe. The act of braiding represents unity, strength, and intricate craftsmanship.
There are countless braiding techniques, each with its own character and level of complexity. Some popular braid styles include:
Three-strand braid: The most basic and versatile braid, perfect for beginners.
French braid: A more intricate style where sections are woven under, creating a raised and elegant effect.
Fishtail braid: A visually stunning braid where sections are woven from the side, resembling a fishtail.
Dutch braid: Similar to a French braid, but sections are woven over for a more pronounced texture.
Round braid: Four or more strands are woven in a circular pattern, creating a thick and sturdy braid.
Braids in Action: A Symphony of Applications
The versatility of braids extends far beyond hairstyles. In the realm of fashion and textiles, braids take center stage as:
Trim: Braided trims add a touch of whimsy and texture to garments like dresses, jackets, and bags.
Embellishment: Braided details can elevate simple projects like pillows, table runners, and curtains.
Closures: Braided ties or fastenings add a unique touch to closures on garments and home décor items.
Jewelry: Braided cords and ribbons can be fashioned into bracelets, necklaces, and headbands.

Embellished braids: Elevate the ordinary with braids adorned with beads, sequins, or other decorative elements.
Piping: The Art of Definition and Detail
Piping is a technique that adds a defined edge or decorative element to seams, collars, pockets, and other areas of a project. It typically involves enclosing a cord or cording within a folded fabric casing, which is then sewn in place.
Piping Styles: A World of Creative Options
Piping offers endless possibilities for adding a touch of sophistication to your creations. Here are some popular piping styles:
Welt piping: The cord is completely enclosed within the fabric casing, creating a clean and defined edge.
Flanged piping: The casing is folded wider, exposing a portion of the cord for added visual interest.
Double piping: Two parallel rows of piping are used for a bolder and more dramatic effect.
Contrasting piping: Utilize a piping color that stands out from the main fabric for a striking contrast.
Matching piping: Opt for piping that blends seamlessly with the fabric for a subtle and elegant look.
Piping Applications: Enhancing Your Projects
Piping is a valuable tool for adding definition and detail to various projects, including:
Garments: Piping can accentuate collars, pockets, waistlines, and seams on dresses, shirts, and jackets.
Home décor: Elevate cushions, curtains, table runners, and throws with piped edges.
Upholstery: Piping adds a touch of sophistication to upholstered furniture pieces.
Bags: Piping adds structure and visual interest to handbags, clutches, and totes.
Classic cotton and silk piping cords: Available in a spectrum of colors to match or complement your project.
Metallic piping cords: Add a touch of glamour with shimmering gold, silver, or bronze options.
Embellished piping cords: Elevate your creations with piping cords adorned with beads, sequins, or other decorative elements.
Pre-made piping: Simplify your project with ready-made piping featuring a fabric casing already attached to the cord.
Fringes: A Dance of Movement and Texture
Fringes add a touch of whimsy, movement, and texture to fabrics. They are typically made from threads, ribbons, or yarn, and are attached to the edge of a fabric in a variety of ways, including:
Serged: The fringe is secured by overlocking the edge of the fabric, creating a clean and finished look.
Hand-sewn: Individual threads or strands are sewn onto the fabric, offering a more customized approach.
Bound: The fringe is encased within a folded fabric casing, similar to piping, for a polished effect.
Fringe Styles: Unleashing Your Creative Spirit
Fringes come in various lengths, thicknesses, and materials, allowing you to personalize your project. Here are some popular styles:
Short fringe: Adds a subtle touch of texture and movement.
Long fringe: Creates a dramatic and eye-catching effect.
Graduated fringe: The length of the fringe gradually increases, creating a cascading effect.
Layered fringe: Multiple layers of fringe with varying lengths add depth and dimension.
Material mix: Combine different materials like thread, yarn, or ribbons for a unique and playful texture.
Fringes in Action: Adding Flair to Your Creations
Braids Pipping and Fringes offer a versatile way to add drama and movement to diverse projects:
Garments: Fringe can be incorporated into skirts, dresses, tops, and shawls for a touch of bohemian flair.
Home décor: Add a playful touch to throws, curtains, tablecloths, and lampshades with fringed edges.

Weave Hair Extensions: Your Path to Fabulous Hair
Having fabulous hair is something many people desire. It adds to our overall appearance and boosts our confidence. While some are blessed with naturally thick and voluminous hair, others may struggle with thin or short hair that doesn't provide the desired look. This is where weave hair extensions come into play. They offer a path to achieving the hair of your dreams, regardless of your natural hair type. In this article, we will explore the world of weave hair extensions and how they can transform your locks into a stunning and enviable mane.
Weave hair extensions are a popular method of adding length, volume, and style to your hair. They involve attaching hair extensions to your natural hair using a weaving technique. This technique creates a secure and seamless blend between the extensions and your own hair, giving you a natural and undetectable look. Whether you want to add length to your short hair or create a dramatic voluminous effect, weave hair extensions can help you achieve the desired result.
One of the major advantages of weave hair extensions is their versatility. They come in various lengths, textures, and colors, allowing you to customize your look according to your preferences. You can choose from straight, wavy, or curly extensions, depending on your natural hair type and desired style. Additionally, weave hair extensions can be colored, cut, and styled just like your own hair, giving you endless possibilities for experimentation and creativity.
Weave hair extensions are also known for their durability. When properly installed and cared for, they can last for several months, making them a cost-effective option in the long run. Unlike clip-in or tape-in extensions, which need to be removed and reattached daily or periodically, weave hair extensions stay in place for an extended period, allowing you to wake up every morning with perfect hair effortlessly.
Getting weave hair extensions requires professional expertise. It's important to visit a reputable salon or hair extension specialist who has experience in installing and maintaining weave extensions. During the installation process, your natural hair will be braided into cornrows close to the scalp, acting as an anchor for the extensions. Then, the wefts of hair extensions are sewn onto the braids using a needle and thread. This process ensures a secure and comfortable fit that won't damage your natural hair.
Proper care and maintenance are essential to keep your weave hair extensions looking their best. You should follow the guidelines provided by your hair extension specialist, which may include using specific products and techniques for washing, conditioning, and styling your extensions. It's crucial to be gentle when detangling your hair, avoiding excessive pulling or tugging that can cause damage. Regular maintenance appointments are also recommended to ensure the extensions stay in good condition and to address any issues or adjustments that may be needed.
Tumblr media
While weave hair extensions offer numerous benefits, it's important to consider a few factors before deciding to get them. Firstly, you should assess the health of your natural hair and scalp. If you have underlying hair or scalp conditions, it's advisable to consult a professional before getting extensions. Additionally, weave hair extensions may not be suitable for extremely fine or fragile hair, as the weight of the extensions could cause stress or breakage. A consultation with a hair extension specialist can help determine if weave extensions are the right option for you.
In conclusion, weave hair extensions can be your path to fabulous hair. They provide a versatile and long-lasting solution for adding length, volume, and style to your locks. With their seamless blend, durability, and endless customization possibilities, weave extensions offer a natural and undetectable transformation. However, it's essential to seek professional advice and follow proper maintenance practices to ensure the health and longevity of your extensions. So, why settle for ordinary hair when you can have fabulous hair with weave extensions?

People leaving the Earth’s surface have always needed special clothing to protect them from high-altitude effects like the cold and thin air. For example, American girdle-maker David Clark’s anti-g suits, which are a type of flight suit, had vinyl-coated nylon bladders enclosing pilot’s bodies, pressurized to encourage blood flow and protect them during very high acceleration. The alien environment of space, of course, demanded something even more extreme.
The spacesuits first created for NASA’s Mercury program weren’t that dissimilar to the flight suits that preceded them, though, and elements sewn in to keep the inflated interior in place made them cumbersome and almost rigid.
For the Apollo 11 mission, something better was required, and that was supplied by the tiny International Latex Company (ILC), also known as Playtex, a women’s underwear company.
NASA was originally reluctant to contract ILC, in large part because of a dramatic clash of organizational cultures. NASA was staffed by scientists and engineers who demanded precise scientific and technical information; ILC was organized around the craft and knowledge of experienced seamstresses.
But Playtex’s experience in molding latex for bras and girdles was highly applicable to spacesuits, and their prototypes were clearly superior to those of other contractors. In summer 1965, ILC was finally given responsibility for creating Apollo 11’s spacesuits.
Production itself – probably to NASA’s chagrin at the time – very much resembled the making of girdles. An entirely female team of seamstresses, pattern-cutters and makers used Singer sewing machines and patterns to hand-make each of the suits. Each was made up of 4,000 different fabric pieces and 21 layers of material, and it required incredible precision to assemble. One important material, a mesh that helped keep the pressurized rubber from ballooning out like a bicycle tire, was often used in Playtex bras.
ILC’s process was often at odds with NASA’s desire to portray the suits as products of high-tech engineering, complete with verifying documents and technical specifications. In the end, ILC had to hire a team of engineers to translate between them and NASA, creating reams of technical documents that ILC’s seamstresses, pattern-cutters and makers never had a need to refer to. Their expertise was in the suits themselves – marvels weighing 56 pounds and costing $100,000 to $250,000 each – not in the paperwork.
