Really, if you know Eddie and Buck, that's sort of all you need! For the fic, the way Buck ends up living at Eddie's doesn't actually matter - he just doesn't have his loft any more and he's crashing on the Diaz's couch until he finds a new place!

Steve dives in first. When he surfaces, Eddie’s taking a running start with a wild look in his eyes, the quick thud of his feet hitting the dock, yelling “Cannonball!” before he launches himself off the edge, limbs flailing as he hits the water. Steve can’t help but laugh at it. That was the furthest thing from a cannonball he's ever seen. “Cannonball? Dude, that was more like ‘feral cat gets tossed in a bath’,” Steve informs him when his head pops out of the water. “Asshole!” Eddie laughs and retaliates with a splash of water to his face.

They sit down and look out at the lake, the sun is just beginning to set. He sneaks a glance at Eddie and those butterflies flap their wings a few more times. It’s not even a month in, they've hardly even scratched the surface, but he’s convinced this is already the best summer he’s ever had.
