TF2 Arknights AU!

I'll try to think up some lore for them, I just love the Arknights universe XD

For now... jusy enjoy the medic with some dove plumage and a magical healing staff

role/race swap AU thing!

not a 1:1 swap in role, but anyway

I'll make a full AU write-up later but for now:

Exusiai: Coyote Lupo, lonewolf

Fiammetta: Fenrir Lupo, last of her family

Texas: Fallen Sankta, uses a revolver that's not her patron gun

Lappland: Parrot Liberi, uses a garand and mimics its sound with her voice to throw people off

arknights AU for obeguda is basically fallen sankta guda who is heavily under the jurisdiction of the lateran church (iirc pope yvangelista is apparently lenient to fallen sankta so here, guda is practically oppressed lmao) where ritsuka is the first fallen sankta to not only be able to still use her patron firearm but its strength and speed seemed heavily amplified as well to the point where its a little bit more stronger than exusiai's firing. but the draw back is that it exhausts guda and could cause necrosis like in fgo where they overuse their mana circuits and suffers from it (see tiamat fight)

but she retains the rest of a fallen sankta's characteristics such as no longer being a part of the sankta hivemind (lol), she has the horns and tail. she also has her halo shattered but her wings have taken a reddish hue making the entire governing body uneasy. so the pope dispatches a Saint, which is basically oberon (saint oberon? www) to overlook her movements as the church sends ritsuka out on dangerous missions just to kill her.

castoria here is a liberi, naturally guda's best friend and her main weapons are either her fists, her grenade launcher- i also imagined she'd be a besieger since i looove using my besieger snipers in arknights www

as for romance and concrete plot i have yet to add but oberon is basically initially tasked with extracting information as much as possible from fallen sankta guda for how and why she has those unique traits that no other fallen sankta has. he begins to catch some feelings after seeing guda persist to live at all odds to live no matter what while still doing the missions around terra and even calling him out on his motives.

i also had it in mind the yakudou trio spends some time in an autumn forest in victoria where oberon had a hidden bunker there etc.

There's a lot more in my head but this is all I'll share rn

It's specifically role swap, personalities remain mostly the same

Sora <—> Croissant

Exusiai <—> Mostima

Texas <—> Lappland

Fiammetta was not swapped with anyone

Anyway I will not be elaborating further out of shame I will simply drop this and run (inevitably I will come back to post full art of Sora and Croissant and also Exusiai and Fiammetta (and Mostima) in particular live in my head rent free. Waiting on siracusa event to do more with Lappland and Texas)

Original rough concepts below (The idea I had for Sora was that she was a street magician, an illusionist, and that Croissant was a fashion model)

Arknights: Ægir conlang

Seeing how my recent conlang sketch that takes place in the same universe is so well received, I might as well share my second most realized conlang. this one is for the aquatic goths at the bottom of Tera's oceans.

the language employs a four consonant root system. like any semitic language but with an extra letter. this was shamelessly lifted from a now-missing language of Lichen the Fictioneer's Skjor. because Ægir is such an old norse aesthetic, and skjor has such in its name alone, I just had to incorporate this feature somehow. (To Lichen the Fictioneer, if this post ever finds you, First of all, I hope this feature won't end up copying what yours would be doing, as unlikely as that may be. second of all really big fan of your work, keep it up).

There are no plosives, affricates, clicks, ejectives, implosives, nor any consonants that completely close the airway. the closest to those would be fricatives, of which there will be many of as explained in the tentative section of this post. this will mean that Skadi's name would be more pronounced [Sxa,.ðhi']. I really like the phonaesthetics of this choice and will not be changing it any time soon.

Now that we got the confirmed features out of the way, let's look over some maybe-inserted ones:

I was thinking that what consonants there are will have a three-by-three-way distinction via voicing and articulation. voicing would distinguish voiced, breathy voiced, and voiceless. while articulation would be plain, aspirated, and palatalized. though I'm on the fence about the palatalization.

I am honestly stumped about what to encode morphologically with the aforementioned features listed above. maybe the classic person-number-case seeing as the four-consonant root system and lack of plosives meets my self-imposed quota of "features I have yet to see in a conlang".

Penguin Logistics Fiammetta AU

Okay so this is kind of a role swap but just in gen something I've been interested in, the basic premise of - what if Fiammetta had stayed back instead of Mostima that night? So I'm gonna be using this post for lore as I work on this AU. So if you're interested (or from a fic), check out under the cut!

And a warning as I dive into lore more, things will get updated and changed!

On the fateful night, it ends up being Mostima who answers the distress call, and Fiammetta who fights Andoain over the Lock and Key. Unlike Mostima, who drives Andoain off, Fiammetta ends up having to flee, Lock and Key in hand, against Andoain's assault.

Unable to tell her side of the story, Fiammetta is exiled from Laterano, and wanders the world doing odd work until eventually being recruited by Penguin Logistics. During this, she ends up becoming Infected.

Meanwhile, staying in the core of Laterano, Mostima further integrates into the Church. With Andoain spinning a lie that the Lock and Key drove Fia insane, and Lemuen in a coma, his word is treated as truth. Mostima chooses to join the Legatus, hoping in her work to someday find, and save, Fia.

With Mostima staying in Laterano, Exusia ends up staying, becoming a Legatus like her. Instead, Patia eventually leaves after growing disillusioned with Laterano's system, and by happenchance joins Penguin Logistics.

Oren, through keeping in contact with Patia, also comes back in contact with Fia, keeping her updated on things in Laterano (and a certain blue-haired Sankta)

Once at Rhodes Island, Fiammetta ends up joining the Movie Lovers' group, becoming their Movie Criticiser. They are one of the only groups who know about her past, other than the Doctor, Kal'tsit and Rhodes Island.

FrostNova survives.

FrostNova x Fiammetta x Mostima Yuri

Fiammetta wears Mostima's old coat, which she grabbed during her fight with Andoain. It's battered, but she keeps repairing it.

Fiametta's arts, thanks to her contraction of Oripathy, allow her to generate and control flames. She sometimes condenses these within her hands to create a plume of pressurised, hot air as a blast attack.

The new addition to the Arknights AU. Say hello to Chris, the mercenary Sankta. He has been contracted to work at Rhodes Island, but not much else is known about him. It is said he also works as a member of the Pontifica Cohors Lateran, but he doesn’t say much about it, says it’s confidential.

I’m actually pleasantly surprised by this drawing. I wasn’t originally going to have it colored but I decided to try something different by taking the line art from Prodrafts and then coloring it in Procreate. The result? Depressed and gloomy Chris but hey, it fits the AU considering how gloomy the world of Arknights is.

Some mnemonics:

non-present and further non-present in the are formed by inserting either /l/ or /r/ in for the aquatic or /ll/ or /rr/ for the terrestrial in P23. The subject third person and object first person number Vowels always comes before and after it respectively.

Inchoative aspect is formed by inserting /ƿ/ for the aquatic or /w/ for the terrestrial after C1. subject second person number vowels always come after it.

Completive aspect is formed by inserting /ƿ/ for the aquatic and /w/ for the terrestrial after C3. object second person number vowels always come after it.
