Armin: He walks quietly past the bathroom, minding his own business really; putting away laundry probably. He can hear your voice over the sound of the water running. He stops briefly, listening to you sing. He can't help but smile and think to himself: "why has she kept her voice a secret?" After you get finished, he asks if you enjoyed your shower, making small talk before he compliments your singing. "You have a beautiful voice, love. I didn't mean to eavesdrop... I was just walking by and couldn't stop myself. You're very talented." He said, trying to hide his blushed cheeks.

Eren: You were showering while Eren was working... or so you thought. He came home early, and when he walked into the apartment and noticed the living room was empty, he began to search for any traces of your presence. He heard the water running, so he decided to sneak into the bathroom. He began to undress himself to surprise you in the shower, but stopped when he heard your voice echo through the room. He raised an eyebrow, curious as to how long you'd been having little concerts in the shower unbeknownst to him. He waited until you were done singing before he spoke up. "Hey babe, I'm home. I loved that song..." his voice trailed as he stepped into the shower, joining you before he continued, "How about you make some more pretty noises for me?"

Reiner: It was the weekend, so you and Reiner made arrangements to just relax and have a lazy day together. Both of you had dozed off midday, but about thirty minutes into napping you woke up, sweaty and desperately wanting a shower. You decided to sneak off and let Reiner sleep, as he's been working extra hard lately. Once you had gotten about 10 minutes into your shower, Reiner awoke. He sat up, searching for you. He felt a little bummed that you left him. He got up to use the bathroom and heard you singing, so he paused before entering. After you got done showering, he opened the door and kissed your wet hair. "Y'know, I always thought you'd have a pretty singing voice." He said as he placed his hands gently on your waist, giving your shoulder a soft kiss. "That voice is going to sing our babies to sleep someday..."

Jean: You and Jean tend to have down times where you both just kind of do your own thing in silence but still enjoy the presence of each other's company. One of these times, Jean was sketching in his sketchbook on the couch. You walked up to him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Hey, I think I'm gonna take a quick shower." You tell him and plant a soft kiss on his cheek before making your way to the bathroom. Jean gets to a stopping point in his sketch and decides to check on you, seeing as though quite some time has passed. As he approached the door, he could hear your faint voice, singing a song he'd shown you before. He smiled, listening to you sing through the door. In that moment, he was reminded why he showed the song to you. After you joined him again, he pulled you into a hug and spoke softly, his lips curled into a slight smirk: "I didn't know you actually liked that song, but I like it even more now."

Modern College Student/BF Armin Arlert Headcanons

(rewatching aot and damn I forgot how much I love armin.  someone pls put me onto some good armin fan fiction?  this boy doesn’t get anough attention honestly, lemme know if you guys want me to do anyone else, im thinking eren next?)

I think in the modern world, Armin would only look at his love for the ocean and nature as hobbies.  When it comes to investing in his education and making money to support himself and his family, he’d go into a major he’s good at just to be safe.  And that’s persuasive arguments, crazy attention to detail and maybe a little manipulation for the greater good so yeah…lawyer it is 🙂

Currently focusing on political science for his BA before law school

Shares a small apartment with Eren and Mikasa cuz they all looked at dorm life and were collectively like “yea, fuck that”

Armin and Mikasa are up first every morning, and they usually share a lil breakfast together before deciding which one should dare try to drag Eren out of bed

Has the best color-coded notes, the type of student to type into the chats links to resources he found helpful when doing the homework, pulls thru with the quizlet right before quizzes

Heavy on that study beats, listens to it even when not studying

The Starbucks staff around the corner knows him personally and even have a lil crush on him since he's there so often, polite and always puts something in the tip jar (he may get a few free cake pops here and there)

Carla would be still alive, we would have more screen time from this absolute milf (Sorry, I am feral for her), being the best mom and Eren always by her side, taking care of her, when he is not traveling with Armin.

Mikasa is either with Carla or occasionally traveling with Armin and Eren. She's out of the military for certain and just chilling, probably became a painter or writer.

Armin, my sweet beloved Armin, just travels around the world (if the titans were taken care of) and becomes this super notorious writer and explorer. I genuinely think he would be a scientist and inventor, like his parents.

Jean probably follows the military career, even become commander when he was older. This man fights for people, and if Marco is by his side...we would see big changes in Paradis military system!

Sasha and Connie would probably remain two chaotic creatures that live in a farm. Sasha would also remain in the military, in my opinion. She likes teaching young people and helping her community. Connie just decided to live a quiet life with his family, probably in a farm close to Sasha's family estate.

Ymir and Historia are married and queens. That's it. They are icons and care for many orphans (even if Ymir is awkward with them).

hello! sorry i've only answered this now. the weekend has been really hectic for me personally but, omg, i can't wait to share ya'll my fic projects and wips! so here's a list of the ones i have barely started and a briefer. we can brainrot together in any! 1. the blood that binds us: this is the gangs of new york au. if you've watched it, great! you know where this is going. but if not, it's alright. to put it simply, eren here is back in his hometown 10 years after the bloodiest gang war that caused his father's death and his childhood. he then meets/reunites with his childhood best friend, armin, and the girl of his dreams, mikasa, and the stakes got even more personal when he discovered how deeply entangled these important people are with the murderer. 2. untitled downton abbey au: so, this fic i really want to write as soon as possible. for this, lady mikasa is set to be the heiress of the ackerman-azumabito estate and wealth after levi elopes with his lover, mr. smith. law states that the inheritance should be passed to the next male of kin, so she has to marry and produce a male heir. enter the jaeger family and their youngest bachelor son, eren. he's not bound to inherit the title of being a marquis, so hearing an heiress in need of a husband is a very good prospect for him for a couple of reasons: he gets to be an earl...and the marquis and marchioness finally has a way to cut their son's feelings for his brother's wife :') this is going to be really angsty in the most passive-aggressive form hehehehee 3. ramblings of a man: or the gothic/macabre fic wherein eren is a writer and coping on his lover's death to the point of severe delusion (he thinks he can bring her back to life by writing and rewriting the events of her death, so long as he has her body with him). i posted the prologue here before so you can check it out! 4. paranormal/witch au: so to sum this one up, mikasa's great-great-great-great grandmother curses her lover while the people burn her for being a witch. the lover is eren's great-great-great-great grandfather. mikasa doesn't know of the curse, of course, and she goes on a trip to where her ancestors where supposed to live before and eren lives there all his life. this one, i'm thinking of writing in a found footage way so i still have to figure it out how.

Armin has a habit of staring off into a distance. He does that sometimes, but lately he's been doing it a lot.

You're concerned, because you know he gets nightmares and sometimes doubts if he is a good Commander; it is an incredible honour to succeed after two of the best Commanders known to mankind but Armin carried on their legacy so well.

However, he still expressed his insecurities about his important position, and you were right next to him, reassuring him, guiding him, very step of the way.

So you approached your boyfriend who was deep in thought, placing a hand on his knee as you sat down to not startle him.

"Armin, my love, why do you look so troubled?" You asked gently.

"Hm? I look troubled?"

"Well... As Captain Levi would say, you look constipated." That drew a laugh out of Armin.

"I'm not troubled, not really. I was just thinking of the future..." He trailed off, suddenly bashful.

Now you were intrigued.

"The future?"

"Mm. I'd like to marry you." He began shyly, avoiding eye contact with an equally red you.

"I mean, I've been having these dreams... A little house by the ocean, waking up next to you, cooking and tending to a small garden with you, baking cookies for our friends. Taking care of Mikasa's kids together. Maybe... Maybe having one of our own. And I really want that. I really want to spend the rest of my days with you." He spoke earnestly, squeezing your hand. You don't remember when he took your hand in his.

Watching your eyes fill up with tears, he spoke.

"I'm not proposing yet. I'd like to buy you a ring, and ask you when the time is right, but I don't care if you refuse either. I don't need us to be married, but I want to be next to you for as long as you'll let me."

You cupped his precious face in your hands, watching his ocean eyes become watery at the sight of your eyes overflowing with tears.

"Armin. My love. I don't care about a ring. I'll say yes if you ask now. I'll say yes if you propose formally with ring. I'll say yes if you ask me with a bedhead and barely awake voice. I'll say yes over and over again because it's you. As long as it's you, I'm willing to say yes. And your dream? I'd love that, very much."

okay starting off strong, i feel like eren would want/have a boy and a girl

doesn’t believe that toys and clothes “have gender” so he gets them whatever toys and clothes they want (actually this applies to everyone else)

HE LETS HIS KIDS PLAY WITH HIS HAIR

he also doesn’t force them into a sport or hobby; if they’re interested in something then he’ll fully support it

they always ask to play outside or go to the playground. they can stay outside for hours and always come back smelling like the sun and the outdoors

he gets very, very overprotective (but not so much as they grow older and more independent)

HE SETS UP PLAYDATES WITH ARMIN’S KIDS WHDHSHJDND 😭😭

sometimes he’ll fall asleep on the couch and one kid would snuggle next to him while the other lays on his chest

gets impatient when helping them with homework

he spoils his kids bc he has a hard time saying “no” to them

at bedtime, he tucks them into bed before reading them a story and leaving a good night kiss on their foreheads

has study sessions with eren’s kids at least once a week (since they usually go to him for help)

his kids rarely argue bc he taught them how to make compromises (ex: “dad said you could play on the computer after you help me with the dishes”)

they like going on outdoor adventures with eren’s kids

he helps them make eye-catching student council campaigns and posters

he doesn’t discipline them (with like tsinelas or a coat hanger 😟), but he lets them know that actions have consequences

he constantly worries about them and can come off as overbearing (again, not so much when they’re older)

i was JUST thinking about reiner (anon requested in a diff ask that the reader is female!) also i got a bit carried away, this is longer than it should have been :’)

you were clutching onto the cream-coloured, gold-foiled, now tear-stained invitation like your life depended on it. his name written in pretty cursive letters, and underneath it, her name. her pretty, long hair came to your mind, the way she laughed at reiner’s jokes, how she hung her arm around him when you went out. oh, how many fights you and reiner had gone through about her. your best friend. and now there they are, not even a whole year after you and reiner called your engagement off, getting married in the forest you and her talked about since you first met.

reiner was staying in his old family home the night before the wedding. the bride would arrive next morning, it was bad luck for them to see each other before the ceremony. porco planned a reunion, said that reiner didn’t want a bachelor party. you’re coming, aren’t you? porco asked. and how could you refuse?

you knew it was selfish and low to think you could change reiner’s mind the night before what would be the biggest day of his life. but it was supposed to be with you. you were supposed to walk down the aisle into his arms, your name was supposed to be the one written in golden cursive letters, right under his own.

“we can leave if you’re not okay.” armin squeezed your hand, stopping at the front door momentarily.

“i’m fine.” you reassured your friend and pressed on the doorbell, patting your dress down before the door opened.

“armin and ___ are here!” eren was the one to open the door, bringing his arms around the both of you and leaving a kiss on your hairline, a silent ‘you got this’. stepping in the living room, all eyes fell on you, old friends saying their hi’s, getting up to greet you. makes sense. you hadn’t seen any of them since you and reiner broke up. standing between annie and bertholdt was the blond object of your affection and all of your pain, making your heart drop to your knees.

“___, good to see you.”

“i think niccolo needs help in the kitchen.” annie muttered and bertholdt followed her, patting your shoulder before leaving.

“congratulations on your engagement, rei.” the nickname slipped from your mouth easily, making him blush, but still smile as he offered you a glass of red wine.

“thank you. i wanted to let you know, but-”

“you don’t have to explain. it’s all fine.” you shook your hand with a polite smile. “how is she?”

“she’s fine.”

“my favourite cousin is here!” you felt a head poke at your stomach and two arms, too strong for their age, hold you tight.

“gabi, be careful!” reiner scolded his young cousin as you squatted down to be at the same height with her.

“what are you doing, you devil?”

“did you say hi to my aunt? oh, did you see jean’s ugly haircut? you have to try niccolo’s-”

“one at a time, gabi! and you’re right, jean’s haircut is horrendous.”

“horrendous?” she tilted her head.

“it means completely ugly.”

“reiner, you’re horrendous!” the girl exclaimed and ran off, making everyone around burst in laughter. you straightened your back and stood up, feeling your cheeks heat up. reiner was staring at you with the same loving look he had whenever you were around children. he would admire you and then kiss your forehead, whispering something about what a great mother you would make. this time, however, there was no comment, just a sad smile as you returned to a conversation about work.

as the party came to an end, you were cleaning the kitchen up, thinking karina would need the help. tomorrow would be too hectic for her to care about dishes.

“you would think a guest wouldn’t be washing dishes after the party.” her kind voice made you turn around. wiping your hands at a towel, you gave her a smile.

“sorry. i just thought you would be too busy tomorrow to clean up.”

“i would rather be in this kitchen tomorrow than that wedding.”

“don’t be like that, karina. your son is happy.”

“he was happy when he was with you. that vixen...” karina trailed off with a sad laugh. “i know this isn’t my place to say, and reiner would be angry at me, but he regrets hurting you. he knows he made a mistake.”

“thank you for that, but i doubt it. he looks happy with her.” you held her hands in yours, tears running down your cheeks freely, as well as her own. you hugged karina tight, her motherly embrace bringing more tears to your eyes.

“i hope he finds love, karina.” you whispered.

“i hope you find each other again, my sweetheart.”

“mum? are you okay?” reiner’s voice coming from the porch door startled you. you turned away from him to wipe your tears.

“i’m fine, reiner. i’ll go to bed, why don’t you two get a drink?” she kissed her son’s cheek and left, leaving behind a tension that could be cut with a knife.

“tequila?” he held up a half-empty bottle of your favorite, obvious in his face that he was the one that had drunk the rest of it.

“sure.”

the porch was quiet, a faint music still heard from the radio in the living room. you had taken your heels off, reiner had unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, and you were both staring at nothing in silence.

“so...”

“so...” you chuckled at the awkwardness, moving your feet back and forth from your seat at the bench. “are you feeling okay about tomorrow, reiner?”

“not really.”

“it’s normal to be nervous, i suppose. i’m sure everything will be fine once you see her.”

“what if i just left? took my car and disappeared, never saw her again?”

“would you be happy then?” such a simple question, yet reiner didn’t have an answer. tears made his eyes burn, and so did the strong scent of the drink in his hand.

“i guess we’ll never know.” he shrugged. “are you okay? after everything i mean.”

“are you asking to be polite or do you want the honest truth?”

“the truth, please.” the words came out of his mouth as a whisper. his eyes were burning from the tears and the strong scent of the alcohol in his glass, it was only a matter of time until you both burst out crying.

“i’m far from okay. i guess i just can’t come to terms with it.” you took a moment to stabilize your breath, “i just saw you so happy with her, all those posts on your socials, everything you did was rubbed in my face and i couldn’t help but wonder...” you turned to him, not bothering to wipe the tears that stained your cheeks “did you just forget about me or something?”

a trembling hand met your cheek, a calloused thumb wiping your tears away and tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

“i’m so sorry, i’m sorry. i’ve never once stopped regretting it, but i thought you wouldn’t even want to see me.” now reiner was crying too and it was your turn to wipe his tears away as he leaned dangerously close to you.

“please don’t kiss me.” you whispered and got up, patting your dress down. “i’ll see you tomorrow, reiner. i hope you have a great life.”

the crowd at the wedding was suddenly too quiet for reiner’s liking.

“...take reiner braun as your husband? do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honor him all the days of your life?”

“i do.”

reiner was lost in thought again, until he felt bertholdt nudge him from behind.

“...to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?” reiner stared at the priest, then down at his soon to be wife dressed in white. turning to the crowd, people started to whisper at his hesitation, but his eyes only searched for you. you were frozen solid in your seat, lips pursed shut and tears wetting your cheeks again, but your chest was rising up and down, heart beating fast with anticipation. what were you expecting really? for him to say no and leave the wedding? with you?

“reiner, darling?” the bride smiled nervously.

“do you, reiner braun?” the priest repeated.

“i...don’t.” he said loud and clear, eyes watching you bring your hands to your mouth to hide your gasp. his mom squeezed your arm with a smile, but you couldn’t bring yourself to be happy.

as much as you loved reiner, you knew what it felt like to be left like that, to be heartbroken and confused. oh how you wished you could be happy as reiner mumbled an apology and the bride’s mother ran to her, how you wished you could smile when reiner walked down the steps and extended a hand for you to take. how easy it must have been for him and how hard for you.
