This year i drew a lot and these are the drawings i like the most, of course in my opinion because I didn’t like every drawing i made, i also only included fully colored pieces and ones i deem as finished and not just doodles

My year in review (at least the pictures I liked most from each month!)

Looking back, I almost feel if you looked at this in reverse it’d be an improvement meme lol. I don’t really feel like I improved all that much. I probably did but I’m just not seeing it.

Part of that is because one of my goals for next year is to actually make finished work. Almost everything I posted is in my ‘sketches’ folder. I can’t focus on anything for more than a day, and that’s a problem because it severely curtails what I can actually work and practice on. That said -- a lot of what I post online is more art I just do for fun, and I can certifiably say I had fun drawing all of these.

And that said I did have a few wins this year, they’re just not as visible. Most notably: I am currently being transitioned to leading some small packs on TS4, I’ve upped my 3D workflow (still can’t texture though lol) and I led a 3 year D&D campaign to its finish in spite of the whole thing nearly detonating on me like three times.

Things I wanna work on next year: as I stated above, I’d actually like to do like... FINISHED pictures, more actual artsy stuff instead of “hey here’s a character floating in a background good luck” and then if I have time, I’d like to explore that whole fake anime screenshot elves more as a webcomic. I keep going back to look at those images and I think they look cool as shit. More importantly, my husband also thinks they look cool as shit.

But I did draw a lot this year. I used to have months of periods where I just didn’t draw. The D&D campaign really changed that, because there’s always something for me to work with. Here’s hoping to another year.

It's time for a year in review! Gonna post a couple pieces I really like that I made this year. They're not in any particular order, but let's see what we got patchouli!!!

I was lucky enough to attend this Susumu Hirasawa concert and I even stole his keys! What a night!!

Sometimes it feels like I haven't drawn that much, but I get to look through my archive and realize, hey. I've created a lot of things this year! It makes me excited and eager to create more and more!!!!

apparently it’s 3 days until the end of the year so why not do a little art summary. damn that was a year. it lasted at least a decade but also less than 5 days. a lot happened. this is the year i finished high school, got rejected from a couple of colleges, got into one, finally gained some muscle mass.. started the fucking ab//c challenge i fucking forgot about fucking Hell i just realized i need to get back to that shit, fuck

Here she is! My 2022 year in review! Some thoughts about the year under the cut

2022 has been a really great year for me! I did 12 zine projects this year, may of which are represented here. I completed my longest comic project this year (8 pages) and was very proud of it. One of the panels for that comic is here representing April.

I graduated from college in August with a degree in illustration! I genuinely never believed I'd end up going to college, and I am incredibly proud of myself (and surprised) for how hard I worked and the success I experienced.

In September I started doing The Artists Way which has been absolutely amazing for my mental health. I've been walking more, learning more tools to calm my racing thoughts, and doing lots of actual traditional painting, which is something I've never let myself enjoy before.

In October I started making cards again too, which has always been something I really enjoyed doing. I got my shop set up online to open officially this year with cards and paintings and prints for sale.

In November I did my yearly Outfit of the Day challenge and got further than I've ever gotten in it before, and really enjoyed the process.

The entry for December is still unreleased, since it was done for a zine that hasn't come out yet, but I might edit this post later as soon as I'm able to share that particular piece.

All in all I am super proud of myself for this last year. It's been one of the best years in recent memory, and I hope that 2023 can continue the trend!
