In RD, most things are designed for pixel art first, and then extrapolated into a drawing afterward. Same approach here.

It was fun to make someone feel strong and larger-than-life. RD has a lot of characters who are sort of "passive", so we wanted someone who had a definitive voice and wasn't content to let the world push him around.

Because Lucky is a famous athlete, every character has a different relationship to him.

Characters like Logan, Hailey, Nicole, Janitor, and Mr. Stevenson are fans of his. Characters like Paige, Ian, Cole, and Miner have never heard of him. Potential for some fun interactions.

Anyway, enough of me over-explaining! In short, it's great to have a new addition to the cast that can shake things up at the hospital.

Winston did great with the design + animations, based almost solely on the prompt: "strong athlete who is frustrated at being in the hospital."

It's silly to make it an announcement like this, but I'm gonna try to step away from both Twitter and Tumblr.

Current plan is to maybe log back in once a week to check my notifs.

I hate doing this because I really wanna keep up with the cool people on here that I've interacted and talked with. But we'll figure it out. I'm most active now on my personal blog, which is also a hub for everywhere else you can find me.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me everywhere else and chat or drop me a line or a silly meme or anything at all! I'm shy and lonely! But I get distracted and frustrated with this place enough that I'm gonna try being shy and lonely somewhere else.

being silly. this comic was originally gonna show me pointing to different boba places and kaity shrieking like a banshee in disapproval before we decided on one but i couldnt figure out a way to convey that that's just how we usually talk when we're alone.

It's Hourly Comics Day again. Comics Day? Comic Day? Whatever. Best day of the year...Santa Claus puts all the comics from the East Coast timezone people under the tree. 9am:

I'm increasing the longevity of my body and of the planet's atmosphere maybe. I think. 10am:

I've just been playing Ode to Joy, Jingle Bells, and some bizarre song called "Jazz Dance" that sounds really sad and eerie, over and over. Probably gonna print out some simple VGM sheet music to keep me motivated. If you have suggestions, let me know!

11am:

Everyone should scribble a little autobio comic once in a while. It's fun. I don't care if you're a systems engineer and their stick figures or whatever, it's still fun to read.

One time in eighth grade I was drawing a picture of Killua in Earth Sciences class and I was trying to get the anime eyes looking right. Before I added the hair, a kid looked at the drawing and said "what is that, an ALIEN???"
