Ashlynn and Hunter dating being a huge deal in the world of Ever After just showcases on focused this on destiny this world is.

Because them dating should not be a huge deal. It’s high school, they should be allowed to date and experiment, but their relationship is seen as a rebellion because it goes against their destinies. Destinies that they are not close to fulfilling just yet, they still have time before they need to follow their legacies, so they should be able to be their own people and not just follow their parents. But everything that goes against destiny is seen as a huge act of rebellion.

The only thing that matters in this world is destiny. For the entire lives of these kids, they are told to be exactly like their parents. The amount of pressure put onto these children is so sad.

enchanted and mine in particular remind me of ashlynn and farrah's relationship in different stages. enchanted is from farrah's perspective as she realises she's in love with ashlynn. she doesn't want to go against her destiny and risk everything but... if there's anyone worth it, it's ash. mine takes place after raven rejects her destiny. ashlynn can finally have what she's always wanted -- farrah. the best thing that could ever be hers.

rosabella beauty - red

red is the transition album from country to pop. it's a combination that doesn't sound compatible, but the effort makes all the difference. like beauty and the beast. it's timeless yet modern, like rosabella.

daring charming - 1989

1989, to me, is an album about fame. daring has girls falling over him, but his true love turns out to be the one who didn't choose him for his fame or his money or his smile. she chose him for him. all that time as a persona, and being himself was how he got the girl.

if i had to assign cupid a song on this album, no joke it would be the archer. keeping her past from ever after, constantly worrying that everyone sees through her. missing her friends at monster high. having to live with the fact that it was her choice. she never had to leave, but who could stay?

darling charming - folklore

to me, folklore is a contradictory album. cathartic lyrics about anger and betrayal set to calm, quiet instrumentals. it's the eye of the storm, a moment of peace inside a whirlwind. it's beautiful on the outside but raging and fiery on the inside, just like darling.

Ok but like, imagine if Grimm tried to turn back time on legacy day to stop Raven from refusing to sign, only for another student to end up rebelling each time.  On the first time loop, He rewinds to an hour before legacy day and has the main snow white characters move to the back of the line with an excuse of saving the best for last or something of the sort. He assumes that since she’s a teen and everyone else will sign before her Raven will give into peer pressure and sign without a scene. But then halfway through Hunter, who wasn’t moved because he plays a more prevalent role in the red riding hood story, slams the Storybook of Legends shut and declares his unwillingness to live a life of violence and to live without the love of his life, thus causing the daughter of Cinderella who just signed the book to fling herself into his arms. Unexpected, but Grimm rationalizes that if he just moves Hunter to the back as well then it’ll all be fixed. Highschool relationships tend to be short, and legacy is more important after all. So on the second loop he moves all the snow white characters to the back, and sits in the crowd with the tension finally leaving his shoulders now that the main problem has been diffused. Except it hasn’t been diffused, because Briar Beauty watches her story play out in the book and in a fit of hysterics rips the binding in half once she sees a reflection of future self in the mirror, with tired eyes wearing clothes a century behind the time reminding her violently of her mother. And it just keeps happening. On one run through Cerise Hood tears her cloak off and reveals her true heritage as a wolf, causing pandemonium on the crowds. On another Darling Charming somehow takes a sword out of her long skirt, and severs her page from the book, declaring she refuses to be a damsel anymore. On one incredibly harrowing timeline everything was going fine until Kitty Cheshire refused to sign, giving him a nonchalant shrug and a taunt of “better rewind again” while her ever present smile haunted him. It gets to the point where he rewinds to a month prior to legacy day, spending that month keeping Ashlynn and Hunter away from each other, Bribing Kitty, separating Cerise and Ravens class schedule so that their friendship can’t form and pushing Darling to take on a damsels in distressing honors project with Apple in hopes his top student will rub off on her. In the end his efforts are fruitless however because somehow Apple is the one to rebel, apparently having fallen in love with Darling sometime in that month. just, the chaos if it all.

True Heart's Day is great and all, but imagine at the end of part two where Ashlynn breaks up with Hunter, Hunter turns to Apple and says something like "You happy now?"

Now you got me imagining Riddle eventually (eventually) switching to the Rebel side but it’s going to be rough for him. Rougher than Apple response to Ashlynn. Also are you aware there are loads of crossovers AU on tumblr? People have created all sorts of stuff but it’s more like if the EAH characters hopped a portal and landed in TWST

Yeah, I think my vision was that slowly but surely each one of the (main) NRC students turn to the Rebel side and challenge their destines. And when the dorm leaders—who are supposed to be the exemplars—act this way, it trickles down and shakes the rest of the student body. Down with Crowley and his corrupt institution/j

Like what we have with canon TWST, I think this development and growth would have to be pretty steadily paced. Each of the students has to take their own time to explore themselves and come to terms with where they want to go in life. Riddle already has a rough time getting out of his comfort zone in TWST, but I think it would have be even more difficult in the EAH crossover AU. His entire life is literally built around the concept of following the rules… What does he have without them?

I feel like Riddle would find a sense of security in a guaranteed ending, whether good or bad. The concrete, defined nature of it is a reassurance. He’s unsure about this thing called freedom, which leaves him with no ground to walk on and no destination to head to. He cannot understand why his students have turned on him, why they call out for that unstable future. Maybe he loses his temper and collars them in this version more for “tough love” reasons… Riddle believes that following your destiny, playing your assigned role, is what will lead to happiness. So… even if he has to force you to comply… This is for the best, isn’t it…?

Yes, I’ve seen others’ TWST x EAH fan art and fanfics floating around ^^ They’re infrequent, but I always get excited whenever I see a new contribution to that part of the fandom.

While we’re on the subject of crossover AUs, I’m also big into Monster High!! I really enjoy maythearo’s reinterpretations of the TWST characters as man-sters. Would highly recommend that y’all go check it out if you haven’t already!

DCA Headcanons: Interactions with Ever After High Characters (Part 1)

Greetings everyone! It pretty much is no secret to any of you that I’m a huge fan of Ever After High and this is something I’ve been wanting to do for… a very long time: The DCA Characters interacting with the characters of Ever After High!

After seeing a lot and I mean A LOT of EAH x TWST art and stories (more for the former), I thought to myself: What if DCA and EAH interact? Oh wait… And… you know, we’re now here.

Important Note: I’m going to be pairing the characters based on their personalities and interests, NOT the same fairytale character. So we’re not going to have Evonie interact with Apple, Ella interact with Ashlynn (see below), yada yada you get the gist

More Detailed Example: We’re not going to have Ella interact with Ashlynn because while they have the same fairytale, their respective interests don’t match. Ashlynn is fond of nature and shoes (more towards the former) while Ella is fond of fashion.

Anyway, let’s begin with Evonie, Ella, Allison, Briar and Cerule

Evonie Apfel 🍎

For Evonie, I debated on either Raven or Darling, and I felt the former fit better, we’ll return with Darling later down the line. While Evonie’s outer motif is a soldier, there’s another side to her: i.e Her Masked Maiden idol persona and this is where Raven comes in. I’d imagine that Raven would be wandering DCA only to find Evonie singing rock music and Raven startling her by complementing her performance. Evonie in shock would obviously beg Raven not to tell anyone, and Raven promises not to say a word. In fact, I’d feel that Raven would suggest they do a collab, Feathered Mirror (Raven Queen ft. The Masked Maiden).

Ella Glaciel 👠

Ella was unsurprisingly and hilariously very easy for me: Pair her up with Farrah. Reason why? Easy! Both have an affinity for fashion. Heck, maybe Ella and Farrah could make a gorgeous ballgown or two!

Allison Liddel 🐰

I debated on any of the Wonderlandians for Allison, but I figured Kitty would be the best choice, since both are mischief makers and both in a way are rebellious, somewhat. Allison refuses to act like a proper lady while Kitty refuses to obey the rules of destiny. I could definitely see them forming a prank duo (or trio if you include Che'nya) and you know what that means, more babysitting for Evonie…

Briar Auroria 🌹

Finding a match for Briar, that isn’t Briar Beauty was arguably very difficult, since no one in EAH to my knowledge were victims of negligence and Brair’s interests include tapestry weaving, feeding animals and taking strolls, the latter two being associated with nature. So for that, I’d pair her up with Ashlynn, a fellow nature lover. I’d see them taking various nature walks, picking flowers and feeding animals

Cerule Oceana 🐠

This was initially very difficult for me since the only EAH characters with ties to water or the sea were Duchess and Meeshell respectively, but neither’s interests or personalities match that of Cerule’s (Side note: They waited till the very end to FINALLY give EAH a mermaid doll?! That’s bullshit!). Sure, we know that Meeshell is fond of singing and that she’s shy, but that honestly doesn’t match with Cerule. I’d pair her up with Alistair (Note: All of these interactions are platonic, for Cerule’s preferences in a partner: click here) since both are curious about the world around them.

Speaking of Ashlynn having to deal with the Gay Bullshit, I really don’t think we can leave out Raven (and Rosabella, who we’ll discuss later) who is rooming with prime gay bs, you know?

I mean, Raven’s already had it up to here with talks about destiny and fulfilling it and shit. She’s heard Apple go on and on about how their story is supposed to play out.

I can’t even imagine how many times Apple must’ve recounted how she would be lying in her glass coffin with crying dwarves and animals around her, before Daring would heroically sweep in and save her with his true loves kiss.

And then comes Dragon Games. And Apple gets poisoned. Daring fails to wake her up. Darling Charming, his sister, is the one to break her curse.

Oh, good god, Raven thinks, horrified, I’m never going to hear the end of this.

And I would like to bet good money that she doesn’t.

Raven, who is getting a minimum of 30 minutes of sleep, hearing Apple talk about how she doesn’t like Darling that way, and sure, maybe she thought Darling was like really pretty, but not in that sense; she didn’t like girls, promise! And it’s not like Darling was really her true love, even though she didn’t mind the idea all too much and-

And Raven Queen sits there, with bloodshot eyes, an aching head, and a heart too kind to tell her confused friend to shut up and let her sleep at 5 am after talking about her crush for 3 hours, while saying she doesn’t like them, wondering what she did to deserve this.

Raven can’t look Darling in the eye for 3 days straight after she hears Apple talk about strong and muscular Darling is for a good hour or so.

Once Apple finally realizes she might actually, really, like Darling, I’d like to imagine it gets much worse for Raven. She contemplates if jumping out the window would be less painful then to hear Apple gush about Darling one second and then say how she doesn’t deserve her in the span of 2 minutes.

Apple: Oh, Raven, she’s just so wonderful. If only I could be good enough for her, then I-

Raven, looking ready to commit murder: Apple White, you beautiful, fucking angel, if you don’t go tell this girl that you like her in the next 10 minutes, I am going to end up marrying her.

Briar is 100% napping half the time no matter how long the trip is

She brings pillows, blankets, and the "super comfy neck pillow" her mom gave her during Thronecoming and headphones

Faybelle is a huge sour candy fan and refuses to share with anyone but Briar (little secret here, Faybelle buys a shit ton of snacks purely for her and Briar to share together)

She also has to sit a certain way so her wings don't get too cramped

Maddie is asking "are we there yet" every twenty minutes, making everyone miserable, until Lizzie makes her drink a sleepy-time tea

Lizzie is playing card games with Kitty when Kitty isn't taking a cat nap

Apple gets major motion sickness (which is weird because she rides a dragon just fine) and always feels bad when people complain about her having her window open

Melody and Sparrow argue over who's music to blast on the bluetooth speaker until everyone agrees on singing whatever's on the radio station to pass time

Hunter and Ashlynn are playing "I spy" with different plant species and Jillian and Nina join in halfway through out of boredom

Ginger bakes everyone treats for the trip and sorts them in little goodie bags with their names on them and almost everyone finds it adorable

Raven is tuning everyone out listening to podcasts about self help and how to deal with social anxiety

Rosabella and Darling sit together and nap on each other's shoulders because they thought it was a great idea to have a movie marathon the night before in their dorm

Daring and Dexter kind of awkwardly sit together, not really knowing if they should talk to each other or just do their separate things

The Wonderlandians will speak in Riddlish to each other and solve puzzles together like they did when they were kids

Cerise and Ramona are itching to get out of the bus the entire trip, complaining that their legs are cramped and that they need to run off some energy

Farrah and Cedar are probably the most tame people the entire trip besides Meeshell and Humphrey

Most everyone knows of Briar's iconic line in Thronecoming where she calls Apple out on her bs.

I've been thinking about what Briar has done to support Apple's delusions and I wish there was a call back to when she pity poisoned Apple's cake. Raven suspected Briar then, but wasn't going to say anything because she recognized that she didn't do it out of malice.

Like, imagine the confusion and reasonable breakdown someone as suspicious as Apple could have. And then she totally accepts Raven's rebellion by WTW because she has a replacement queen (the pig wasn't cutting it) and then we would've gotten more active Briar in the Dragon Games (why doesn't she have a dragon?).

As you can see I'm spiraling.

(I am aware of @athena-xox's mission to chronicle ever after high in order (genuinely impressive) and Thronecoming comes before Apple's birthday bakeoff, (also just, how the school year progresses) this was a fun thought anyhow assuming release order)

And presumably because Briar's birthday is August 9th I can't use the excuse of next year as she is likely 15 and this is her last year conscious and is why she takes more drastic measures than Raven has to avoid her destiny but also if this was true I'm not sure how likely Briar and Ashlynn's attitude towards destiny (and Apple) as depicted in that episode would happen.

My favorite hypothetical for bribelle is just how their friends would react if they had a secret relationship but they found out, like if they got caught making out or something 😭🙏

Because like remember how surprised cedar was when she found out about Ashlynn and Hunter ☠️ like imagine how their friends would react finding briar and Faybelle 😭😭

Bc atleast ashlynn and hunter aren’t destined to be enemies like atleast they aren’t in the same story

But briar and Faybelle.. 😭 plus there’s gotta be some homophobia like..

Anyway just think that would be a hilarious reaction ESPECIALLY if it was Ashlynn who found out like she’d be like
