That moment is specifically referencing this scene in season 3

This moment hasn't happened yet and it really colors Bumblebee's relationship with Optimus in a way that I don't think the writers were intending but I'm running with it anyways! Bumblebee has to listen to what Optimus tells him to do, no matter what. Normally he's chill with it, that's his job. Ie, he didn't want to train the Terrans! He wanted to do anything else! But he did it because it's his job. This scene makes it clear there's things he doesn't want to do/agree with but does.

Optimus does not like Piston. Point blank. Bumblebee never told Optimus that he was carrying until it was too late. Had Piston been born small, they would've grown on Optimus but baby has Decepticon traits Optimus doesn't care for. Would he ever be rude to Piston? No. He is polite but not kind. Very detached grandparent.

Optimus has been working with GHOST/humanity to secure a safe new home for Cybertronians on Earth, most in custody being Decepticons. His right hand man and best scout sneaking around behind his back and having another one (that almost offlines him) is not a good look. (Especially when other mechs knew before he did) Piston is born right around the end of S1 (2 month pregnancy) so even though GHOST is gone Optimus is like, "Are you serious!?!?!"

Megatron on the other hand? Adores Piston!!! He doesn't like how Optimus treats Piston so he does his best to be extra doting to his grandchild. Which is why Megatron is crying, he doesn't want to do this!!! He tried to deescalate the situation but stuck his foot directly into his mouth. He's devastated that Piston was easily influenced by war stories. He should've seen the signs, noticed something was up when Piston was more interested in hearing about Decepticons than Autobots. But Piston was just an excited little kid, he couldn't help it and indulged them too much :(

So back to the comic, when that happens Bumblebee is in utter shock, "Optimus......................you need to say something before I do...."

And Optimus, who isn't surprised this happened just, shrugs his shoulders and says, "I told you so. These are the consequences of your actions. Right?"

And Bee has to agree with him. He doesn't want to!!!!! That's why he closes his eyes and lingers so long to agree. What else can he do in this moment? Say no? His child just did a Starscream :(

I had to cut myself off on the comic or else it was never going to get done. Bumblebee starts reflecting on some things and you know what? Maybe he should go with the Decepticons......

You know the worst part? The safety on the weapons are still on.

Picture a vast, vacant beach, steadily caressed by the ocean's gentle tide. A long, luxurious day is descending into twilight. You are perfectly comfortable and completely free to relax and gaze across the warm waters as the sun sinks to the horizon and the soothing tropical twilight embraces your dreamy desire.

So relax, so natural, feeling drifty, warm and free, you see the night's first star... and then another, just beyond the distant waves in the encroaching darkness. These celestial images somehow feel connected as they take their place in the deeper night sky. Becoming brighter, becoming stronger... coming closer.

Soothed by the relentless metronomic beat of the ocean waves, you are calm and relaxed but drawn deeper, focused on and fascinated by the imagery. Eyes glowing and growing, the twin stars consume your attention, banishing all other thoughts and awareness. Watching as the stars advance in tandem... drawing you in, drawing you deeper. Coming to you, coming closer... compelling you.

Compelling you to stare. A presence compelling you to open your mind now, to submit to your desire. Feeling the Presence now... an unearthly power from beyond the horizon into your dreamy mind. You are standing now, blankly at attention, staring into the eyes of spirals.

The Presence speaks. You hear the words—and only the words of the Presence now��in your mindless mind.

The Presence turns and walks along the beach, toward the gentle night waves, and you follow. Good girls follow. Good girls go deeper. The Presence walks into the waves, floating freely. You remain focused, vaguely feeling tingles of desire.

The powerful hand of the Presence beckons you now, and you feel the inexorable pull. Feeling lighter, and lighter... floating higher, and higher. Flying free... soaring to the peak of the high hill, the pinnacle of your desire. In an instant you find yourself before the Presence once more. This time you are kneeling, and as you await your commands, your whole body tingles with the need to serve.

Wow it's been a hot minute since I last posted lol - thanks for bringing me back anon and thanks for the kind words!

Will make note of using awesome-ly in a fic one day, swear, but it's actually not writer's block at all. Just a case of switching fandoms and being activated like a sleeper agent whenever I get a new obsession hahaha. Though I hope to one day finish "say you love me," it's what got me into fic writing after all, just need to find the right inspo.
