Title: If I Could Dream

Ever since I realized that Sarah was the daughter of Jonah Kelso, the woman we recruited years back, I was unable to stop thinking about how different things could've been. I mean, a Toppat Member that we recruited would be the mother of a demon trying to kill all of us, someone looking to redress a real grievance, albeit in far too extreme a way to be considered sane.

Sarah is a walking, talking Deconstruction of the idealization of the Toppat's as Neighborhood-Friendly Gangsters. Sarah and her mother were innocent bystanders who were caught in the crossfire of Terence Suave and ended up having their lives ruined as a result. Had circumstances been different, she would have been the woman who led the Civilian Militia the way it could've been.

But losing her mother at a young age and lacking any emotional support afterwards meant that she ended up devoting her talents in pursuit of vengeance against those who ruined her mother's life. Even worse is that in her crusade, she ends up becoming just as bad as Terence Suave and The Toppat Radical's that she hates, which I'm sure is something Sarah is aware of, and she hates herself because of it.

Sarah believed all the honor of The Toppat's is hollow because we didn't help her and her mother. If it weren't for Terence, we would've done that already. Sarah is The Toppat Clans... and my past failures and regrets come to life. For one, Sarah's revenge is a byproduct of Terence Suave's former rule. If we had gotten rid of him sooner, Sarah wouldn't have turned out like this.

All I can hope now from here, is that when we do stop Sarah Kelso... I can at least ask her for forgiveness and she can let go of her hatred, so that I can forgive myself for my past mistakes.

If only I helped Jonah sooner.

Listen, I know you have some regrets about Jonah. I certainly do myself. But here's the thing. If we had helped Jonah, we would be dead instead. And Terence would still be in power right now.

(RHM's eye socket begins to glow, with a laser blast charging up.)

SO ARE WE JUST GOIN' TO PRETEND HER SACRIFICE WAS NECCESARY, YA FUCKIN' EEJIT?!

(RHM realizes he's about to blast one of the only people he considers a true friend, sighs, and shoots the laser blast at his own feet. It leaves a scorch mark on the dirt, but both of them are still okay.)

Damnit. Sorry about almost blasting ya there, Reggie, I just...hate that we had to do something like that. I really wish we could've done something.

Terence Suave had eyes EVERYWHERE, Right Hand Man. If we had done something, she would've probably died eventually anyways, and we'd be dead with her.

Do I wish we could've done something? Most certainly. Do I want to have the fact that Jonah is dead riding on my concience? Most certainly not. But, unfortunately, Right Hand Man, things like that had to be done to get rid of Suave. We couldn't take that monster down until his guard was down enough to do it. We got lucky that we were able to strike him down when we did. If we hadn't acted right then and there, we would've died before we ever got another chance to take him down.

And if we had tried to help Jonah, we would've just ended up dead alongside her. Anyone who disagreed with that bastard Suave was made into his personal slave, you know. I shudder to think what would've happened to us had Suave caught wind of our plan before we were able to enact upon it.

(RHM looks at Reginald with full understanding.)

Yeah, I understand what yer gettin' at, Reggie. If we tried pullin' any stunts on that moldy bowl o' haggis, he woulda given us a fate worse than death. Much as I hate admittin' to it, yer right. There wasn't anythin' we could do.

Hm. Let's change the topic. Mind helping me put the finishing touches on the Airship's repairs, Right Hand Man? It's almost done, after all.

Heh. Yeah, sure thing, Reggie. Thanks to Sutton and Radmann, this thing oughta be fixed up by the 1st of March.

Lore time!! Here’s a giant wall of text for all the lovely theorists out there ;) This panel(s) is huge, so it took absolutely forever, but I got a lot of help, which was really nice :) And I’m debuting one of my 3D models! The Kaleidoscope in and of itself took me months to make. Because it’s so complicated, it needed a pretty advanced reference, aka an entire posable model I made in Blender. But now that it’s done, I can pose it for just about whatever angle we’ll need it for in the future!

My 3rd Henry Stickmin based fanfiction. I may one day make it a comic or let someone else pick it up. But.... YeaH probably will release the first few chapters in the coming months.

RD Summary:

Dave is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Can he ever get a break? Finally free from the Toppat airship, he is forced to cooperate with the defected criminal leader and his followers in order to survive. But, what they ask if him, holds to high of a cost. With his life on the line, does he have a choice? As history and the past unfold before him, Dave and the defectors are asked to question, what are they willing to do to survive? How far, is to far?

Back in late August I ahd a crazy Henry Stickmin themed drama round the events of Toppat Civil War. Which involved alot of stuff and probably came fro. I sort of wasreading some fanfics around it, one I recall being very mature one off in which Dave's character and personality ahd been corrupted and changed. Prompting the dream but also spurn in ng the idea of "What if???" Would his personality change if forced, etc... what would cause it???

So The story and dream unfolded... I wrote it all down and called it a day.

Then early to late October this idea for art cover involving a clock cane ro mind and wouldn't leave. Then a reminder of an omd art project I never got to but a rough format for a Chaotic fanfic came about in my head with a new idea going towards this story. Involving characters standing on a giant clock and themed after a poster I used to see non stop in my 8 years previously working at a movie theater... finally I sat down and just started drawing....

I still need to fully write out the first few chapters of this story. Only the concept of the first few chapters is down. I have many later chapters fully written out and have the e ding solidly locked down as well as many of the building and final climaxes at least written down in some capacity. This could be a 20-40 chapter story depending. But it seems fun to write and workno when I need a break fro. S.T.R.Y.

HOWEVER yeah this story probably will contain heavy material. Maybe not R based. But it will still have soem heavy chapters. Yes Dave's way of thinking slowly gets corrupted hence the title.

Yes! I don't know if you're referring to cannon or Telling The Truth, so here's both.

CANNNON:

-My head cannons for the character ages in cannon :3

-Uhh so fun fact, I drew Basil's little ahoge thing on Sven for Telling The Truth, but it actually kinda just stuck because I can't see him without it, so it's kinda a head cannon since it's not on his actual hair-? Idfk-

-Reginald, RHM, and Sven are all trilingual (meaning that you are fluent in 3 different languages). Reginald knows English, French, and ASL (yes, ASL counts as a separate language); RHM knows English, Spanish, and Japanese; and Sven knows Swedish, English, and German :3

-I added this in the old head cannon list, but it was after it got all of the notes it currently has. But, Reginald really likes vocaloid music, but he doesn't understand the Japanese lyrics, and doesn't care enough to look it up. RHM, however, is fluent in Japanese, and understands the lyrics to the music he is listening to. RHM doesn't have the heart to tell him.

-Henry wins in Toppat Civil Warfare.

-Additionally, the reason Reginald was so quick to accuse Henry without any evidence from Ellie in Toppat Civil Warfare is because he is/was actively looking for a reason to dethrone or at least demote Henry as the leader. Reginald does not believe Henry is capable as a leader except in endings like Toppat King and Toppat 4 Lyfe.

-jewel barron is the most cannon ending accept it.

TELLING THE TRUTH/AU:

(aka: things I want to be cannon, but haven't been discussed with Mod Star yet-)

-Post-Good end stuff about HENRY and SVEN

-So, similar to how the characters represent the 5 stages of grief in OMORI, I kinda also wanted the characters to represent different symptoms of depression, so like- HENRY would be oversleeping, RHM would be aggression, SVEN would be loss of interest (in things you used to like), you get the point.

-Uhh DMITRI and GRIGORI are dead. Not from the Toppat Clan or HENRY or something, they just died of natural causes a little before HENRY quits and stays inside for four years. This was the best solution I could come up with for "why wouldn't the Wall try to arrest HENRY after finding out that he isn't leaving his house".

-HENRY isn't moving away, he's getting evicted. He didn't have enough money to pay rent, so he's getting evicted. The reason why he was able to live for four years without working is because he sold the diamond pretending to be someone who found it.

-HENRY's friends do not forgive him right away in the good ending. They do eventually, but it takes several months. Multiple people in the Toppat Clan never forgive him.

(Both teams exit from their kettles. The Advisor quickly rushes over to us, seemingly out of breath.)

What's the situation, Advisor Three?

Grizzco just gave PMD!Kyle and Blastie quite a fright. He said if we don't stop and let this happen, he'll fuzzify your world as well.

He's bluffing. He has to be.

(Suddenly, as if on cue, Alter's phone rings. It's Reginald and RHM!)

Reginald? Right Hand Man? What's going on?

"Well, Alter, we just had quite the close call. Seems someone planted bombs filled with this strange technicolor goop onto the Airship, the Orbital Station, and even on GEOGRAM's base."

"Luckily my sensors spotted 'em all right away. Managed to disarm all the ones planted on the Airship and on the Orbital Station, and got those GEOGRAM blokes on the line to disarm the bombs in their base real quick."

Funny you mention that. We have a pretty good idea on who made the strange goop and planted those bombs, and we're en route to take him down right now. By the way, this is important: did you dispose of the ooze the bombs held?

"Yes, of course we did. The stuff was FAR too concentrated to be studied, so we put the samples in biohazardous waste containers and stored them in a secure location. We can't really destroy it, but we can store it away under maximum-security lock and key for now."

"Heh, yer lucky we're still here after everything that's happened. We're too tough to go down, especially since Reggie got those augments back a bit ago."

Great. Keep an eye on that stuff and do not let ANYONE near it. I'll see you back at the Airship for Christmas soon enough. Over and out.

(Alter puts his phone away.)

Ooookay, so Grizz wasn't bluffing after all. We need to speed things up.

Luckily for you, I think I know just how to do that. I've managed to get enough Power Eggs for L'il Buddy to eat up enough fuzzy ooze to get you all to the next boss kettle. I'll set you all to Super Jump there right now.

(Suddenly, we all Super Jump to the boss kettle. Upon entering, we're greeted by a familar voice.)

BEGINNING BOSS FIGHT: THE PURSUIT OF THE FUTURE

(This is an info dump about Devin, so it might get pretty long...)

Okay, so! It all started when two Toppat members loved each other very much and had a baby. Which was Devin! They took care of him until he was 8 or 9 when they took him on a mission and ended up getting killed in front of him.

With no one to care for him, the Toppat Leaders (Reginald and RHM) decided to take him in and raise him as it says above on his card.

He turned out to be one of the best Toppats in the clan (obviously), but he was also very reckless. He would often rush into things without a plan and end up succeeding by a pure miracle.

Devin is also pretty lighthearted and cocky with him facing his issues with a smile and joke.

Well, what are his relationships with Reginald and RHM?

I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED.

Reginald:

They have a close bond with Reginald being Devin's go-to for emotional support. Reginald shows his affection and concern for Devin a lot more openly. He's usually the one to fuss over him when he ends up doing something dumb that got him injured. He also taught Devin how to use swords with both hands, one he was old enough. (I read a fanfiction where Reginald knew how to fight with swords, and I thought it fit so well for his character.)

Right Hand Man:

RHM is a lot more subtle with his relationship with Devin but is not neglectful. They've spent enough time together that Devin knows that RHM cares for him just as much as Reginald does. He shows his affection and concern through his actions more than words, and it is the one to patch up Devin after he does something stupid. They like to train together by fighting one on one which is Right's favorite style of fighting.

(He's also pals with Burt, Carter (my oc), and Cathat (friend's oc), but I can always expand on that later if you're REALLY interested.)

What's he like during different endings, you ask?

Well since you asked!

Government Supported Private Investigator:

Devin doesn't show up on screen really for this ending, and instead has more offscreen importance.

When the government came to arrest the leaders and most of the clan, Devin fought his hardest to stop it but didn't succeed, which got a lot arrested. He also lost his arm in the airship crash and was taken by remaining Toppats to help him survive.

Once his injury was taken care of and he woke up, he was made the new leader. Of course, he took the position, but he wasn't ready for it. His main goal after this ending was to break the previous leaders out of prison. (Also, he gets a cool cybernetic prosthetic. Aw, like father like son.)

Pure Blooded Thief:

Devin isn't really on screen for this one either and really only shows up at the end with the leaders. Right wants to do something about Henry stealing the Ruby, and Devin is on board with it, but Reginald talks them both out of it. They all escape, but now they really don't like Henry.

Rapidly Promoted Executive:

Devin is on screen more as he runs with Reginald while Henry chases them down. (He would've been with RHM to fight with Henry, but he was told to go with Reg and who is he to disobey Right?)

Anyway, after Right is defeated and Henry tries to get Reginald, he's tackled to the ground and stopped by Devin. So they fight it out while Reg tries to get help. (I have fails and a success for this part, but I'll save that for another time.) Henry finally gets advantage over Devin and slams him into the wall, which knocks him out.

Of course, there's the whole betraying government thing, and Henry becomes leader. Devin is not happy with it...

Relentless Bounty Hunter:

Same thing as the previous ending, but this time, once Devin woke up and found out about it, both him and Right were rightfully pissed about it. Both of them become a terror to the government and work together to get that space station up in orbit so they can go break Reginald out.

(I might talk more about the Completing the Mission endings, but this is already long, and I have no idea how interested people will be in this guy. 🥲)

Okay but instead of Reborn losing his memory consider the following: he lost his memory shortly after joining the toppat clan and thus forgot everything about his past and grew dependent on the Toppat Clan bc he didn't know of anything he had before

ok so can you imagine him becoming closer with Reg pre-leadership because he seems hospitable and RHM without knowing why, really seemed to need that support and Reg starting to sense that RHM seems a bit restless and asks what's going on but RHM cannot use his words right so Reg says "it's alright if you don't want you reveal the past just yet, I know we haven't known each other for longer than three months" and that's what hits RHM that oh. I do not know what happened in the past.
