He is thirty one and sixteen and five all at once.

The world shook with a roaring roll and then froze. He'd dropped to a crouch at the initial sound, eyes on the sky for a plane or low flyer. That was probably the only reason he didn't get knocked on his ass by the motion. A rooftop probably wasn't the recommended safest place to be during an earthquake, but they were so common Shouta had merely braced in waiting. Nothing above to fall on him and most buildings were up to code. There was no reason for them not to be with the amount of construction quirks in one prefecture alone.

It starts like a bad slow motion movie scene, stuttering on worn out film. Some already gather in the streets and his voice gets drowned out by another tremble. Too close, too soon, rationale says too late to stop instinct from propelling him down to ground level. He should've stayed where he had a better vantage point. The crowd makes it hard to pin down any suspects. Few listen to his command to return indoors. Someone leans on an apartment complex, a hand moves-erasure is a second late (or maybe it was going to happen anyway.)

Cloth binds everyone within reach and hauls. All but one get released as rebar bends and brick makes a horrible grinding noise. The masses scatter. Hopefully at least one civilian thinks to call emergency services. Shouta doesn't have time to pick a person and yell at them specifically to do it. Dust already chokes the area before he can check if he missed anyone. The best he can do is tie up suspected villain's hands to a lightpost and keep going before pieces have settled. Which is not protocol or smart or even effective - he's no rescue hero but his quirk's odd infrared thermal effect mean he can spot victims.

Spotting them is easy. Getting them out is something else entirely. He tries to keep track, to prioritize as time blurs and ears ring like maybe he did get hit on the head. Again. The millionth time. It doesn't matter. Eyes remain open and hunt continues until people who were far better equipped for this arrive. Shouta actually snaps teeth at the hand that firmly steers him out of rubble, mouth desert dry when he tries to give numbers, places, conditions. Report like first hero on scene is supposed to do. Grit crunches in his teeth. Goggles have left tangible marks on his face, peeled off to allow him to rub eyes. Too bright flashing lights blind him.

Blink. Everything floats. Blink. Again. Everything still appears cold and hot, erasure and bonus ability on. Like he's five, a child hopelessly new to controlling a quirk, when it would remain activated for minutes hours until finally clicking off. Already his head thunders in complaint. Maybe he shouldn't be looking. . . anywhere near those who likely needed their quirks to assist. Shouta slips goggles back on, shutters the lenses over halfway and vehemently turns to his own walking feet, as far as other professionals will let him without seeming like he would wander off. He might. It's tempting. Away from destruction and blood and rain but it's not raining but there's a presence approaching -

"Don't. I can't turn it off."

Re: Last paraphilia anon (Sort of, more like continuing that convo)

Yeah, it is a really bad issue. Blocked a few anti-radqueer blogs for saying that all big three paraphilies deserve jail or death for being paraphilies and not their actions.

Like I get a lot of anti-radqueer people who are the most vocal are minors. But, you have to acknowledge that something that makes you uncomfy is not automatically harmful, especially being anti-contact for any harmful paraphilia. It's not just the three that are harmful- even paraphilias based on objects can be dependent on the consent of the person who owns the object or if practiced unsafely and without cleaning the object. Yes, I count harm to the paraphile as a harmful paraphilia, since that is so often overlooked with how distressing a paraphilia can be to experience.

It's ableist, really. The exact opposite extreme of radqueers when the situation needs more nuance than "Paraphilias ok except the three that make be feel icky then the paraphiles deserve to die." It's expected to see in extremes when you're a minor since you're still learning about the world and simplifying it makes it less scary and complex, but if you're going to try to present yourself as a safer alternative than a group that encourages contact and crimes, you cannot make a paraphilia an indicator of someone's morality or them being an inherent threat. It's rhetoric that has been used to demonize trauma victims for a long time, not just paraphiles.

TLDR: You can have a personal discomfort about specific groups, but it becomes an issue when you're telling a group to die or treat them as subhuman for something they cannot control having (but they can control their actions), and that needs to be unlearned. Not everything radqueers support is always part of their group or inherently evil due to their support of it. If anything, the combination of pro-contact any harmful paraphilia, applying queer identity fluidity to non-queer identities where it does not work the same way, not respecting closed or semi-closed cultures/practices, and idea that children and animals are able to consent should be bigger radqueer red flags than not demonizing paraphilias and paraphilic disorders.

I think its important to discuss and talk about personal experiences with other neurodivergent people. Cause like, we've all had personal experiences that don't necessarily align with how we view a whole group of people. And I've tried to avoid talking about personal experiences, so I won't bring unnecessary hate, if I had a bad personal experience. (And not that it would, but people tend to generalize online, yknow?)

But like its important to talk about things that don't work out or line up. Cause like, people don't talk about it in good faith, and people don't acknowledge their own faults in these situations.

So let me say some things and talk about my own personal experiences. To preface, I've been having a really hard time talking to people in my life who are autistic, and I have ADHD. Usually, it works out fine, because yknow, people who are nd get along better than those who are nd and nt. But I've been struggling with the fact that they need space, and get overstimulated easily. While I need reassurance and attention, lest I am understimulated and depressed.

And I'm sitting here listening to the same song over and over, while writing this, watching the music video on the side. Right after I ended a call with my boyfriend (he's autistic) and its really hard to hang up, when his presence often gives me so much dopamine. I love being around him. But he needed time to be alone, so I'm here coping with the fact that I won't talk to him again until tomorrow. And more so than that, there are other people that I struggle to talk to because they need an extended amount of alone time and space. And it's really hard to accept that hey, they don't hate you, but they need room. The RSD sucks. The emotional dysregulation sucks.

And I get the immediate knee jerk reaction, that it's not fair. But it is fair, my second reaction goes, you are given space too. And I know that, I get very socially drained so easily. So, its a fight in my brain. Either be responsible and considerate, or be impulsive and self sabotage relationships for my own benefit. It's not easy being compassionate and considerate, when that is not your first thought, when you're also mentally ill and exhausted.

So like, here it is. I am here to talk about interacting with other neurodivergent people, where our personal experiences are not sanitized or always positive. So, I'm here to start a conversation. Reblog with your own personal experiences, or relate to mine. I think we should be more open to talking about negative interactions, being neurodivergent isn't an inherently good or bad thing, it's just we're different and interact with the world in a different way.

I don't hate the other people in my life, nor do I wish harm upon them. But I struggle with them, just like I struggle with anything else. Share your thoughts and feelings, and your own personal experiences. I'd love to hear them.

I got in a bus accident today

we were parked at a bus stop and a bin lorry came by at speed and plowed right through us, it ripped off one side of the bus completely, the side I was sat on. I think if it was just 30cm further over I could've lost an arm, maybe died??? only one person was injured, he'd kneeled over in instinct and he had shards of glass embedded in his back, he's okay though
