Tbh I go back and forth on this. I guess it first depends on if we are talking about ROTI or All Stars Scott because to me they are two different characters, or if we are to mix both traits (which I sometimes try to do when I RP or write him).

If we are going off of strictly ROTI, I would say no lmao. I like the angst of a one sided Dott where Dawn has a puppy crush, Scott knows this, exploits it, and dumps her without a second thought. Maybe Dawn gets her revenge by cursing him or something lol.

If it's All Stars Scott, probably yeah. I could see him being still butthurt over Courtney, maybe he gets with Dawn as a jab to Courtney, or maybe they reconnect.

But how I see Dott is two social outcasts being lumped together and starting as somewhat rivals somewhat Dawn having a puppy crush? Scott develops feelings too but it's Scott so he doesn't deal with it in a normal way, but later on i could see them reconnecting.

Either way I think Dott is really interesting, thank you for the ask!

Gosh there are so many... I will give three because they are totally different!

As a romantic relationship I wanted more of Samkota (If you thought I would say Gwuncan or Lyler... You're right I hesitated).

These two were never given a true chance to shine in a season where they were doomed. They deserve more screentime.

Then there is Scott and Dawn.

I love them as a ship, I love them as a friendship but I also love them as rivals and THAT'S what I wanted to see more. How Dawn would be so annoyed at him and want to destroy him for his nasty personality but at the same time read his aura and feel bad for him while he is scared of her but at the same time respects her because she doesn't let him play his game. Finally I wanted more of Gwen and Lindsay's friendship.

Some people say he's too friendly; his smile is too wide and, really, why would anyone be smiling in Snezhnaya's current conditions?

He is too much; a freak, strange, and most likely an outsider.

Other people praise his creativity and are attracted to the welcoming feeling of the bakery. They say it's a refreshing shop amidst the otherwise grim streets.

Too friendly turns into a sigh of relief to people who experienced the coldness of the world. To them, his eccentric nature can be accepted as a form of comfort.

A hope that perhaps, some day, the Archon of Love will bless the nation with prosperity and happiness again.

And while you can't judge these things upon someone you've just met; you can see why there would be contradictions surrounding him.

Despite the smile and the welcoming impression he gives off, a set of lifeless eyes makes you feel uneasy as they glance your way. Their red color is alarming, unusual. Unique, yes. Certainly. However, for something so bright, his eyes are seemingly lifeless... dull????

If you were staring, DOTT would not be bothered by it. Instead, he seems quite cheerful at the sight of a new customer!

From the counter, he grabs a card and turns it to you. His fingers slide over the words. "My bakery is specialised in sweets, although we have a vast variety of savory pastries as well."

If you were to look at the menu, you'd notice that the items on it do not match the items currently available. From the looks of it, it's not outdated. Perhaps he is still trying to decide what to add.

"Feel free to look at the items with reviews. If you find nothing to your liking, you're free to request something to your taste."

He sees so much destruction on war-torn planets and since he's the type who always thinks about the future, he's definitely concerned with what can be done to help the wildlife of those planets.

I hope she doesn't mind him dropping the air of professionalism after the first couple holo-letters, because he's someone who, if he likes your vibe, becomes very personable and comfy in his interactions with others. And if her flirty side starts to show in her own typed messages? Oh boy, he's going to take that opening to be his overly cheesy self!

her name is Mana, shes a Pantoran who hails from a remote colony on the very edges of the mid rim.

shes a pilot and a mechanic, her ship is her pride and joy (especially because it belonged to her father who has since passed). Said ship is made for stealth.

Before the war she worked as a smuggler, but specifically working for a freedom fighter group who would smuggle slaves off of hostile planets, but yes, she also smuggles other things in order to pay the bills

During the war the Republic hired her to smuggle medical and other supplies to occupied worlds and some times she'd even be asked to sneak covert teams behind enemy lines and has met quite a few troopers because of this 💜

Personality wise she's very scattered brained, but intelligent (please don't comment on the constant mess her ships in), has opinions for days but only says them to those she trusts. Will break laws without much thought or qualms so long as they don't compromise her morals.

Scott is one of my favorite characters and I discovered Dott shortly after revisiting the series through old TD art. Idk, I just think it started out as just I thought they looked good together, than it's me and I had to overthink it like I do with everything.

There's just something about their rivalry, Dawn's eagerness to hear him out (enough to believe him about B) the whole snow fort scene- only for Scott to betray her. I find the entire dynamic so interesting, Dawn canonly has these super natural powers (vaguely even implied that she can predict the future) and like, you would think she would see Scott's betrayal a million miles away, yet she doesn't. She's blindsided.

Yeah it's a kid's show no shit it wouldn't be fun if Dawn was OP but idk.....I can't help but wonder maybe if the reason she tricked was because she had feelings for Scott, or at least wanted to give him the chance to prove her prediction wrong. Maybe she saw a lonely farmer's boy and couldn't help but want to try.

Another part of me likes that they both enjoy the outdoors, both of them having knowledge about stars, Scott's reaction to being called Beetlewhisperer. They are both (in their gen) somewhat of outcasts, the others either are put off by them or disliked (yes hot take Dawn wasn't liked by her peers. Lightning called her Creepy Girl and everyone she interacts with minus B are seen to be uncomfortable with her comments).

There is a lot to explore with these two, I would argue you don't even have to see them as a romantic ship, they still have a interesting connection.

I will say a lot of old Dott art does wobbify Dawn a bit too much for my liking, I honestly think Dott is so much better when you lean into Dawn's weirdness. Scott could make her worse or Dawn could make him weirder lol. I still do appreciate the art people make and still do make for this fandom, idk it fills me when a sense of fondness. It's always nice to see people have a genuine passion for a pairing.

My only wish is that I were a better artist so I could contribute to the fandom.....it does make me sad to see how dead the Dott tag is, though in a strange sense when my posts come up I feel a little better. I guess I want to say that there's still Dott fans kicking, you just got to find them.

OH BOY DO I. In no particular order (except of when I thought of them):

1: Non-Entity by Captain Wuzz: An AU in which, instead of being turned to stone, Discord was shot in the head with a magic arrow that takes away his sentience and magic for a 1,000 years. Fluttershy mistakes him for a wounded animal and brings him home. I loved it so much.

2: Chaotic Neutral by C-Puff: The magic is starting to fade from Equestria, and the Main 6 and Discord go on an adventure to find out why, and reverse it. A bit of AU, in the sense it was written before the show was done, so it diverts in some places because of that. Super sweet, and I love the character development here.

3: Time is Taller than Space is Wide by Dott. Can also be read on Ao3 if you prefer. Soulmate AU (?) fic with a Groundhog Day style twist. I rarely see fics play with the idea of what if Fluttershy and Discord's friendship had started when they first met, so this is fun.

4 & 5: Blank and it's sequel Reconnection by @geekcat. Can also be read on fanfic.net. AU in which, before Discord can choose friendship over ruling Equestria, Twilight remembers a "reformation" spell. He is stripped of his free will, and Fluttershy does her best to bring him back. If you don't like the idea of Twilight being a villain, you might not like this one, but I think her villain arc in this is done in a perfect way for her character. It's super heart wrenching in many places, but in a good way.

6: Our Fair Lady of the Chaos Lord, also by GeekCat Can also be read on fanfic.net. Fairy tale inspired AU in which Fluttershy is a princess who's father is pressuring her to marry noble knight Sir Big Mac. Wanting to be sure he's a good person, she makes a deal with the Chaos Lord, letting herself be "kidnapped" so she can test his character. You can guess who she falls for instead. Honestly I've enjoyed all of GeekCat's fics, so they're getting an extra mention. Check out the rest of their fluttercord fics if you like any of these.

7: The Draconequus with the Dragon Tattoo by A M Shark This is a major case of, strange premise, kick ass results. Basically an AU based off Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson, with Discord as Lisbeth, and Fluttershy as an amalgamation of Mikael and several other characters, but focusing more on the murder mystery aspect of that book, and less on the...everything else. If you're familiar with GwtDT, don't worry, there's no rape scenes. Again, it's more about the murder mystery part. If you're not familiar with GwtDT, then don't worry again, because you don't need to know the original to enjoy it. It's just Discord and Fluttershy playing detective and solving a murder together. It has two sequels, but I haven't read them yet, and it didn't feel right to rec something I haven't read.

8: The Corpse Bride by Bad Horse. Dark fic. No relation to the Burton movie. Fluttershy dies in a tragic accident, and Discord brings her back from the dead as his zombie wife. Her friends (sans Pinkie) are horrified. Has a fantastic twist ending. If you like some of the darker stuff, def worth a read.

Bonus: Comic rec: The Last Adventure by Eveeka. Taking place after the final defeat of Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis, Discord gets into a depressive funk after shouldering the hatred from Ponyville citizens for his latest actions, but also because his friends seem to never be available anymore. He starts to think maybe Equestria would be better off without him, as he can't seem to exist with out making everyone miserable, and decides to hide away in the Everfree forest. Fluttershy, worried when he doesn't show up for tea, asks her friends for help, only to discover there's a monster running lose there he and the rest of Equestria might be in danger from. This fic has two endings, so keep reading even when it seems like it's over. You've got one more ending left. This one nearly made me cry.
