Hey guys! I know it's been ages since my last post 🫠 I started university this summer and the first semester went really well! I'm really happy with my current situation, and I'm about to start my second semester soon. So yes, I'm doing more than okay 💕

Sadly, university is taking up most of my time and I've currently lost interest in twst and writing in general (I probably won't be updating my quotev books anytime soon either)... so I'll be on a break!

Me losing interest in writing has happened before, and the motivation to pick up writing again often came back really out of nowhere 👀 I don't know what the future holds, but this isn't a permanent goodbye. For now, I'll be taking a break from Tumblr and writing

I want to take this opportunity to really thank you guys for your support and all the fun I had interacting with you here. I spent two years writing my heart out and chatting with you all — two years I'll never forget 💕💕

hi!! just wanted to ask how do you plan your fics, and how do you make sure you update regularly?? i struggle with updating things, i've spent almost a year on a nine chapter fic, so any advice would be great <3

Hello, my fellow rock username friend (rock gang rock gang- pretend pebble sounds tough)!

I love talking about how I write and plan and everything! I think the most important thing I've done with my more recent fics is before I even start writing them, I make a really detailed outline of the entire thing. Like, even some word-for-word dialogue so I just know what I'm planning (when I say outline, I mean it's a very unprofessional, no spell-check, no grammar, looks like weird poetry type thing- you can kinda get the idea if you look at the post I linked below). Then you know what's gonna happen and what you need to write and it helps me to not run into writer's block and everything! I used to write a three-page outline of my overall story, but my If Time Runs Out outline is thirty pages long and in the outline for my upcoming fic, I'm only on the third chapter and it's already seven pages. It's super helpful and it also helps you go faster bc by the time you get to writing the story, it's already halfway done, you've just gotta make it sound good and look like an actual story, but you pretty much just translate whatever is on the outline to the actual story document and add some details and glitter and everything. (and of course some parts of the outline are less detailed than others, like just a general overview, but you know. Usually, really important scenes are the ones with a lot of detail in the outline) I'd include a picture of some of my really good outline parts, but I can't bc spoilers.

As for updating regularly, I honestly don't even plan that out. I kinda just estimate and try to set deadlines. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but you can look at my post history and see that it's not very organized. I post whenever I'm done with a chapter (but I'm always motivated to go fast bc I hate to keep people waiting). The post I linked below this will hopefully help motivation-wise, bc usually that's the biggest problem (other than time, and if you don't have time to write, I really can't help with that).

I'm also gonna link a (sort of outdated) post I made in the past about my writing process and how I keep motivated bc I think it definitely has some good takeaways! Here, and some of that is different from how I write now, but the motivation aspect holds up pretty well. The outline stuff is sort of outdated just because mine are more detailed now, but the stuff about keeping it light and silly to keep you in a good mood holds up too, so give it a read if you'd like! And having a less detailed outline is fine too, but, as I said, for really important scenes with lots of dialogue you might want to plan more word-for-word stuff.

So, all in all, having a super solid plot outline before you even start is what helps me, but the most important thing is don't write if you don't feel like it! Posting regularly is good, but uninspired writing always feels yucky to do, so take care of yourself and your needs!

Sorry if this was unreadable. I have many mixed-up jumbled thoughts, but I hope it maybe helped! The post I linked is probably going to be the most helpful. (And idk what your process looks like so sorry if this is absolutely useless to you.)
